• gcc 4.5 installation problem under ubuntu

  I tried to install gcc 4.5 on ubuntu 10.04 but failed. Here is a compile error that I don't know how to solve. Is there anyone successfully install the latest gcc on ubuntu? Following is my steps and the error message, I'd like to know where is the problem.... Step1: download these files: gcc-core-4.5.0.tar.gz gcc-g++-4.5.0.tar.gz gmp-4.3.2.tar.bz2 mpc-0.8.1.tar.gz mpfr-2.4.2.tar.gz Step2: Unzip above files Step3: move gmp, mpc, mpfr to the gcc-4.5.0/ directory. mv gmp-4.3.2 gcc-4.5.0/gmp mv mpc-0.8.1 gcc-4.5.0/mpc mv mpfr-2.4.2 gcc-4.5.0/mpfr Step4: go to gcc-4.5.0 directory and do configuration: sudo ./configure Step5: compile and install sudo make sudo make install The first 4 steps is OK, I can configure it successfully. However, when I try to compile it, following error message comes out, I cannot figure out what the problem is. Should I change the name from "gcc 4.5" to "gcc"?? It's a little strange that we need to do this by ourself. • Server compromised. Bounce message contains many email addresses message was not sent to

  This is not a dupe. Please read and understand the issue before marking this as a duplicate question that has been answered already. Several customers are reporting bounce messages like the one below. At first I thought their computers had a virus but then I received one that was server generated so the problem is with the server. I've inspected the logs and these email addresses do not appear in the logs. Instead of replacing them. I have tried making a breakpoint and checked the parameters, they do have the correct assigned values. So that is not the issue either. I have been tinkering with this a lot now, with no luck, can anyone help? It is trying to create the schema table using this sql: CREATE TABLE SubSonicSchemaInfo ( version int NOT NULL CONSTRAINT DF_SubSonicSchemaInfo_version DEFAULT (0) ) Which doesn't work on oracle. The correct sql would be: CREATE TABLE SubSonicSchemaInfo ( version int DEFAULT (0), constraint DF_SubSonicSchemaInfo_version primary key (version) ) The funny thing is that since this is the very first sql executed by subsonic migrations, NOBODY EVER TESTED it on oracle.

• Adding delegate with calendar access using Exchange Web Services?

  I have a set up where I need to add a delegate to various user calendars programmatically. Using a sample from MDSN, I've gotten as far as trying to add the delegate, but after the call to the service binding, I get nothing back...no success or fail....nothing. • Unable to rename file with c# ftp methods when current user directory is different from root

  Hello everyone, Remark: due to spam prevention mechanizm I was forced to replace the beginning of the Uris from ftp:// to ftp. I've got following problem. I have to upload file with C# ftp method and afterwards rename it. Easy, right? :) Ok, let's say my ftp host is like this: ftp.contoso.com and after logging in, current directory is set to: users/name So, what I'm trying to achieve is to log in, upload file to current directory as file.ext.tmp and after upload is successful, rename the file to file.ext The whole difficulty is, as I guess, to properly set the request Uri for FtpWebRequest. MSDN states: The URI may be relative or absolute. If the URI is of the form "ftp://contoso.com/%2fpath" (%2f is an escaped '/'), then the URI is absolute, and the current directory is /path. If, however, the URI is of the form "ftp://contoso.com/path", first the .NET Framework logs into the FTP server (using the user name and password set by the Credentials property), then the current directory is set to UserLoginDirectory/path. Ok, so I upload file with the following URI: ftp.contoso.com/file.ext.tmp Great, the file lands where I wanted it to be: in directory "users/name" Now, I want to rename the file, so I create web request with following Uri: ftp.contoso.com/file.ext.tmp and specify rename to parameter as: file.ext and this gives me 550 error: file not found, no permissions, etc. I traced this in Microsoft Network Monitor and it gave me: Command: RNFR, Rename from CommandParameter: /file.ext.tmp Ftp: Response to Port 53724, '550 File /file.ext.tmp not found' as if it was looking for the file in the root directory - not in the current directory. I renamed the file manually using Total Commander and the only difference was that CommandParameter was without the first slash: CommandParameter: file.ext.tmp I'm able to successfully rename the file by supplying following absolute URI: ftp.contoso.com/%2fusers/%2fname/file.ext.tmp but I don't like this approach, since I would have to know the name of current user's directory. It can probably be done by using WebRequestMethods.Ftp.PrintWorkingDirectory, but it adds extra complexity (calling this method to retrieve directory name, then combining the paths to form proper URI). What I don't understand is why the URI ftp.contoso.com/file.ext.tmp is good for upload and not for rename? Am I missing something here? The project is set to .NET 4.0, coded in Visual Studio 2010.

• Getting uninitialized constant error when trying to run tests

  I just updated all my gems and I'm finding that I'm getting errors when trying to run Test::Unit tests. I'm getting the error copied below. That comes from creating new, empty Rails project, scaffolding a simple model, and running rake test. Tried Googling "uninitialized constant" and TestResultFailureSupport. The only thing I found was this bug report from 2007. I'm using OS X. However that token comes out as an array of bytes. It's hard to use it later to send it to the server... anyone knows how to convert an array of bytes to pchar or string?

Once switched back to Oracle provider, whichever version, the test fails with the error stated earlier. I've spent 3 days already trying to figure out what is not in order without success. I hope someone out there could provide useful info on what I am doing wrong.

• Failing to install activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter gem

  I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!). • Error using httlib's HTTPSConnection with PKCS#12 certificate

  Hello. I'm trying to use httplib's HTTPSConnection for client validation, using a PKCS #12 certificate. I know the certificate is good, as I can connect to the server using it in MSIE and Firefox. Here's my connect function (the certificate includes the private key). In that case, I received no error, I was prompted to enter the PEM pass phrase, and the code did attempt to reach the server. (I received the response "The service is not available. Please try again later.", but I believe that would be because the server does not accept the PEM cert. I can't connect in Firefox to the server using the PEM cert either.) Is httplib's HTTPSConnection supposed to support PCKS#12 certificates? (That is, pfx files.) If so, why does it look like openSSL is trying to load it inside the PEM lib? Am I doing this all wrong? Any advice is welcome. EDIT: The certificate file contains both the certificate and the private key, which is why I'm providing the same file name for both the HTTPSConnection's key_file and cert_file parameters.

• PHP SASL(PECL) sasl_server_init(app) works with CLI but not with ApacheModule

  I have written a simple auth script so that Webusers can type in their username and password and my PHP script verifies them by SASL. The SASL Library is initialized by php function sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). So phpfoo.conf in /etc/sasl2/ is used. phpfoo.conf: pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN log_level: 9 So the SASL library now tries to connect to saslauthd process by socket. saslauthd command line looks like this: /usr/sbin/saslauthd -r -V -a pam -n 5 So saslauthd uses PAM to authenticate. In the php script I have created sasl connection by sasl_server_new("php", null, "myRealm"); The first argument is the servicename. So PAM uses the file /etc/pam.d/php to see for further authentication information. /etc/pam.d/php: auth required pam_mysql.so try_first_pass=0 config_file=/etc/pam.d/mysqlconf.nss account required pam_permit.so session required pam_permit.so mysqlconf.nss has all information that is needed for a useful MySQL Query to user table. All of this works perfectly when I run the script by command line. php ssasl.php But when I call the same script via webbrowser(php apache module) I get an -20 return code (SASL_NOUSER). In /var/log/messages there is May 18 15:27:12 hostname httpd2-prefork: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory I do not have anything with a Berkeley db for authentication with SASL. I think authentication using /etc/sasldb2 is the default setting. In my opinion it does not read my phpfoo.conf file. For some reason the php-apache-module ignores the parameter in sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). My first thought was that there is a permission issue. So back in shell: su -s /bin/bash wwwrun php ssasl.php "Authentication successful". - No file-permission issue. Anyway, there are some interesting log entries when I run PHP in CLI mode: May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: SQL engine 'mysql' not supported May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sqlite May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: sql_select option missing May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sql Those lines are followed by lines of saslauthd and PAM which results in authentication success.(I do not get any of them in ApacheModule mode) Looks like that he is trying auxprop pwcheck before saslauthd. I have no other .conf file in /etc/sasl2. When I change the parameter of sasl_server_init to something other then I get the same error in CLI mode as in ApacheModule mode.

• practical security ramifications of increasing WCF clock skew to more than an hour

  I have written a WCF service that returns 'semi-private' data concerning peoples name, addresses and phone numbers. By semi-private, I mean that there is a username and password to access the data, and the data is meant to be secured in transit. However, IMHO noone is going to expend any energy trying to obtain the data, as it is mostly available in the public phone book anyway etc. At some level, the security is a bit of security 'theatre' to tick some boxes imposed on us by government entities. The client end of the service is an application which is given out to registered 'users' to run within their own IT setups. We have no control over the IT of the users - and in fact they often tell us to 'go jump' if we put too many requirements on their systems. One problem we have been encountering is numerous users that have system clocks that are not accurate. This can either be caused by a genuine slow/fast clocks, or more than likely a timezone or daylight savings zone error (putting their machine an hour off the 'real' time). A feature of the WCF bindings we are using is that they rely on the notion of time to detect replay attacks etc. <wsHttpBinding> <binding name="normalWsBinding" maxBufferPoolSize="524288" maxReceivedMessageSize="655360"> <reliableSession enabled="false" /> <security mode="Message"> <message clientCredentialType="UserName" negotiateServiceCredential="false" algorithmSuite="Default" establishSecurityContext="false" /> </security> </binding> </wsHttpBinding> The inaccurate client clocks cause security exceptions to be thrown and unhappy users. If an attacker can perform some sort of replay attack, why would a clock skew window of 5 minutes be necessarily safer than 2 hours? I presume performing any attack with security mode of 'message' requires more than just capturing some data at a proxy and sending the data back in again to 'replay' the call? In a situation like mine where data is only 'read' by the users, are there indeed any security ramifications at all to allowing 'replay' attacks?

If I start the second instance, everything is fine until I want to access the database. Using this code: ..   UPDATE (3/8/2010) I installed Xdebug and have it tracing my code. I have installed everything the same way on a local server and it works fine. To say I am at a complete loss would be putting it lightly. *NOTE: I ran make test and it returned FAIL on every test. I never ran this on my working machine to see if it reports the same errors. Any idea why make test would report FAIL but make doesn't report any error? I've installed the Oracle Instantclient with no reported errors along with the OCI8 PECL package and at a loss. Whenever I try to open a connection with oci_connect, it halts my entire PHP script. • WSIT, Maven, and wsimport -- Can They Work Together?

  Hi all, I'm working on a small-ish multi-module project in Maven. We've separated the UI from the database layer using Web Services, and thanks to the jaxws-maven-plugin, the creation of the WSDL and WS client are more or less handled for us. (The plugin is essentially a wrapper around wsgen and wsimport.) So far so good. The problem comes when I try to layer WSIT security into the picture. NetBeans allows me to generate the security metadata easily, but wsimport seems completely incapable of dealing with anything beyond a Basic-auth level of security. Nothing, however, seems to change the composition of the wsimport-generated files at all. So I guess my question here is, to get a WSIT-compliant client, am I stuck abandoning Maven and the jaxws plugin altogether? Is there a way to get a WSIT client to auto-generate? • How to Connect Crystal Reports to MySQL directly by C# code without DSN or a DataSet

  How can I connect a Crystal Report (VS 2008 basic) to a MySQL DB without using a DSN or a preload DataSet using C#? I need install the program on several places, so I must change the connection parameters. I don't want to create a DSN on every place, nor do I want to preload a DataSet and pass it to the report engine. I use nhibernate to access the database, so to create and fill the additional DS would take twice the work and additional maintenance later. I think the best option would be to let the crystal reports engine to connect to MySQL server by itself using ODBC. I managed to create the connection in the report designer (VS2008) using the Database Expert, creating an ODBC(RDO) connection and entering this connection string "DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver};SERVER=myserver.mydomain" and in the "Next" page filling the "User ID", "Password" and "Database" parameters. I didn't fill the "Server" parameter. It worked. As a matter of fact, if you use the former connection string, it doesn't matter what you put on the "Server" parameter, it seems the parameter is unused. On the other hand, if you use "DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver}" as a connection string and later fill the "Server" parameter with the FQDN of the server, the connection doesn't work. How can I do that by code? All the examples I've seen till now, use a DSN or the DataSet method. I saw the same question posted but for PostgreSQL and tried to adapt it to mysql, but so far, no success. In that case: How can I specify the connection string? I haven't tried the second method because it doesn't apply. Does anybody know the solution?
