• Flex 3 give DataGrid Data to function

  Hey Guys, i have a Problem to send a value from the DataGrid to a function- this is my function: private function browseLoc( location:String ):void { Alert.show(location,'Information'); } Now i have my DataGrid which receives Information from an XML File. Everything works fine. I created some users with the integrated tool, and the login is perfectly working. But now what I want to do is to give administrator the capability to create, modify, delete users. I made the multiple calls to Membership.UpdateUser after reading this blog entry, but it didn't change anything. A strange think I noticed while debugging, is that when I enter the Button1_Click method, Membership.GetUser(userName) returns me values from my precedent attempt ! I don't really understand what I'm missing. Does someone have a clue ? Thanks in advance !

• Multi-line regex support in Vim

  I notice the standard regex syntax for matching across multiple lines is to use /s, like so: This is\nsome text /This.*text/s This works in Perl for instance but doesn't seem to be supported in Vim. Instead, I have to be much more specific: /This[^\r\n]*[\r\n]*text/ I can't find any reason for why this should be, so I'm thinking I probably just missed the relevant bits in the vim help. Can anyone confirm this behaviour one way or the other?

  I am confused as to why the new operator isn't working as I expected it to. Note: All classes below are defined in the same namespace, and in the same file. The method is called and executed with the BaseClass.consoleWriter variable Then The CLR calls the NewClass.Write() The CLR initialises the NewClass.consoleWriter object. The CLR sees that the implementation lies in BaseClass, but the method is inherited through The CLR executes the method locally (in NewClass) using the NewClass.consoleWriter variable I thought this is how the inheritance structure works? • ASP.NET - Call required field validator before AJAX modalpopup, client side

  I have an ASP.NET/C# application. The user fills out a form with required fields, then clicks a submit button. An AJAX popup message is then displayed, and if they confirm, their information is posted back to the server. The problem is that the AJAX popup is fired BEFORE the req validator. I need to interrupt this and run the req validator, and then if successful show the popup. I know the req validator is working, because if you cancel the popup message, the req text is shown next to the fields. • jQuery weirdness. Div becomes attached to chained element markup?

  I've got a div in my app that is displayed each time my theme options panel is "saved". I'm also using jQuery to fade the message offscreen after 3 seconds. • Any danger in calling flash messages html_safe?

  I want a flash message that looks something like: "That confirmation link is invalid or expired. Click here to have a new one generated." Where "click here" is of course a link to another action in the app where a new confirmation link can be generated. Two drawbacks: One, since link_to isn't defined in the controller where the flash message is being set, I have to put the link html in myself. No big deal, but kind of messy. Number two: In order for the link to actually display properly on the page I have to html_safe the flash display function in the view, so now it looks like (using Haml): - flash.each do |name, message| = content_tag :div, message.html_safe This gives me pause. Everything else I html_safe has been HTML I've written myself in helpers and whatnot, but the contents of the flash hash are stored in a cookie client-side, and could conceivably be changed. I've thought through it, and I don't see how this could result in an XSS attack, but XSS isn't something I have a great understanding of anyway. So, two questions: 1. Is there any danger in always html_safe-ing all flash contents like this? 2. The fact that this solution is so messy (breaking MVC by using HTML in the controller, always html_safe-ing all flash contents) make me think I'm going about this wrong. Is there a more elegant, Rails-ish way to do this? I'm using Rails 3.0.0.beta3.

For escaping HTML characters I used: txtOut.Text = Regex.Replace(txtIn.Text, @"[\u0080-\uFFFF]", m => @"&#" + ((int)m.Value[0]).ToString() + ";"); But I'm not sure how to convert the match to the correct hexadecimal format that JS uses. For example this code: txtOut.Text = Regex.Replace(txtIn.Text, @"[\u0080-\uFFFF]", m => @"%" + String.Format("{0:x}", ((int)m.Value[0]))); Returns "%a9%221a" for "©v" instead of "%C2%A9%E2%88%9A". It looks like I need to split the string up into bytes or something. Edit: This is for a windows app, the only items available in System.Web are: AspNetHostingPermission, AspNetHostingPermissionAttribute, and AspNetHostingPermissionLevel.

  I am trying to store in a postgresql database some unique identifiers along with the site they have been seen on. I can't really decide which of the following 3 option to choose in order to be faster and easy maintainable. The table would have to provide the following information: the unique identifier which unfortunately it's text the sites on which that unique identifier has been seen The amount of data that would have to hold is rather large: there are around 22 millions unique identifiers that I know of. So I thought about the following designs of the table: id - integer identifier - text seen_on_site - an integer, foreign key to a sites table This approach would require around 22 mil multiplied by the number of sites. id - integer identifier - text seen_on_site_1 - boolean seen_on_site_2 - boolean ............ seen_on_site_n - boolean Hopefully the number of sites won't go past 10. This would require only the number of unique identifiers that I know of, that is around 20 millions, but it would make it hard to work with it from an ORM perspective. one table that would store only unique identifiers, like in: id - integer unique_identifier - text, one table that would store only sites, like in: id - integer site - text and one many to many relation, like: id - integer, unique_id - integer (fk to the table storing identifiers) site_id - integer (fk to sites table) another approach would be to have a table that stores unique identifiers for each site So, which one seems like a better approach to take on the long run?

  Hi guys. I have a few text fields and text views on my application's view. The keyboard comes up when I click in anyone of them. I have a method that gets called when any one of these objects is tapped in. However, I would like the method to execute its code only if the a certain Text Field(s) or a certain Text View(s) is tapped in. I would therefore like to have something like this in the method body: { if(currentField != mySpecialField) {return;} //Rest of the method code... } Now, my question is, how do I get a reference to the currently tapped in field so that I can perform the if-check. Thanks guys. I'm a total noobee in Objective-C. :(

  I have a need to search a pdf file to see if a certin string is present. The string in question is definately encoded as text (ie. it is not an image or anything). I have tried just searching the file as though it was plain text, but this does not work. Is it possible to do this? Are there any librarys out there for .net2.0 that will extract/decode all the text out of pdf file for me?

  Thanks in advance of all of your help! I am currently developing a program in C# 2010 that launches PLink (Putty) to create a SSH Tunnel. I am trying to make the program able to keep track of each tunnel that is open so a user may terminate those instances that are no longer needed. I am currently using System.Diagnostics.Process.Start to run PLink (currently Putty being used). I need to determine the PID of each plink program when it is launched so a user can terminate it at will. Question is how to do that and am I using the right .Net name space or is there something better?
