• Is it possible to load ListPreference items from an adapter?

  I'm setting out to create a settings activity for my app. I've defined a PreferenceActivity with a nice layout including a ListPreference object for the user to select a bluetooth device. I'm having trouble dynamically populating the list. I would like to populate ListPreference with values from an array adapter (which I'll create and populate with relevant bluetooth device names). If this were a spinner View, I could just call setAdapter(). However with the ListPreference object I can't figure out how to attach an adapter (findviewByID won't cast from View To ListPreference, so I can't even get a handle to the object). I would like to attach an adapter and then populate the adapter with values, which in turn would populate the ListPreference with values.

• Master / Detail datagridview with relation from type string in C#

  Hello, I want to show a master / detail relationship using two datagridviews and DataRelation in C#. The relation between the master and the detail table is an ID from type string (and there is no chance to change the ID to type integer). It seems like the DataGridView is not able to update the detail view when changing the row in the master table. Does anybody know if it is possible to achieve a master / detail view using a string ID and if yes, how? Or do I have to use an external DataGrid from another company? Thanks for any help Daniel

I am describing the company's profile: company is currently having 5 branches and planning to extend their branches all over the country. it is an insurance surveying company. they are dealing with 6 Categories in the insurance domain, vide .. Engineering Fire Marine Motor Miscellaneous Risk Inspection and branches named as b1, b2, b3, b4, b5 and Extending. and finally they have contract with 22 companies. For each claim they are assign a unique ID. like contractcompany/category/serialno Ex: take a contracted company names as xxx, sss, zzz. xxx/Engineering/001 sss/Engineering/001 . . . xxx/Enginnering/002 sss/Engineering/002 . . . xxx/Fire/001 sss/Fire/001 . . . xxx/Fire/002 . . . xxx/Fire/002 . . . and so on..... by this way they issue the unique ID for each claim. Finally what i want is developing the interface with PHP mysql and ajax auto generating the unique id for each claim. store full details of the claims with reference to unique id. show all claims in one page, and they can view by branch wise and category wise. send monthly Report (All claims they have given and status of claims) to contract companies. give access to contracted companies, but they can view only their respective claims. Each claim has its own documents. So they can be uploaded by own company users or administrator. these files are associated with unique ID. contracted companies can view files. Give access to branches to enter new claims and update old claims. Administrator can create, update and delete all the claims and their details. Only administrator can grant new users (own company branches / contracted companies) Finally the the panel is completely database driven. Could any body can help. • What's the best method to be overloaded in ViewPage for inserting some script to all ViewPage?

  I want to insert some script that is required for my JavaScript library in all view pages. I know that Asp.net MVC is built on Asp.net Framework. Therefore, I can override many methods in “System.Web.UI.Page” class that is a parent of “System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage” class. Nevertheless, I can do it by override Render method but it makes all view pages be invalid for XHTML 1.0 strict.   Hello, At moment my main layout consists of vertically oriented stack panel and it looks like this: Root StackPanel StackPanel - fixed Height 150 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be behalf of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) StackPanel - relative Height must be half of free space left on screen (but at least 150 px). Used by Telerik GridView Control, if I don't specify Height or MaxHeight Telerik GridView Height becomes very large and does not fit my window. StackPanel - fixed Height 100 (horizontal orientation) The view must totally fit available screen size. The problem is that I don't understand how to make certain areas of my view resize depending on available screen size. Is there is easy way to solve it, or should I be binding to Window height property and doing math? Thank You very much!

• Script stops working on HSQLDB 1.9.0-rc6

  DROP VIEW V1 IF EXISTS; DROP TABLE T1 IF EXISTS; CREATE TABLE T1 (id INT, name VARCHAR(32), age int); CREATE VIEW V1 AS (SELECT * FROM T1 WHERE age < 21); I have no problem to execute the SQL statement above in one JDBC statement or on the SWING Manager from HSQLDB. Now it stops working on 1.9.0-rc6. This is error message I got - "user lacks privilege or object not found: T1 / Error Code: -5501 / State: 42501" Does anyone know what have changed in 1.9.0-XX which made it not working? Thanks

  Hi, I have a screen with a webView in my navigation controller stack and when I navigate from this view back to a previous before the page completely loaded I get a EXCEPTION_BAD_ACCESS. Seems, that the view with a webView being released before it comes to webViewDidFinishLoad function. My question is how to overcome this problem? I don't expect from the user to wait till the page loads...   Hello, I'm trying to create a table with Listview and one of the fields I'm using is supposed to show a hyperlink to a more detailed view of the data shown, how I want to do that is by using FindControl on the ID of that item and then changing the value into a hyperlink of the detailed view page with a querystring attached, the problem is that I have no idea how to re-insert that data back into the listview field, which looks something like this: <ItemTemplate> <td> <asp:Label ID="ViewLinkLabel" runat="server" Text='[insert Link Here]' /> </td> </ItemTemplate> Please bear in mind that I'm still an amateur in ASP.net, and if any of this seems too convoluted when there's a much easier to do this that I don't know about. • touchesBegan / Ended incorrectly identifying second, third, etc. touch

  I have an issue where touchesBegan and touchesEnded are incorrectly identifying my second, third, etc touch if I continue to hold down my first touch. If I lift my finger up off the first touch, then it will recognize the next touch just fine. It's only when I hold my first touch down continuously and then try and touch a different area with a different finger at the same time. It will then incorrectly register that second touch as being from the first touch again. • How do I size a UITextView to it's content?

  Is there a good way to adjust the size of a UITextView to conform to it's content? Say for instance I have a UITextView that contains one line of text: "Hello world" I then add another line of text: "Goodbye world" Is there a good way in Cocoa Touch to get the rect that will hold all of the lines in the text view so that I can adjust the parent view accordingly? As another example, look at the Notes field for events in the Calendar application--note how the cell (and the UITextView it contains) expands to hold all lines of text in the notes string.

  Check out this Screenshot. Shouldn't a hierarchy list of tags appear here? Usually it appears. Sometimes, the tag "appears" there but without text (but the tag object is there as evident when you hover over it.) Other times, like this, nothing appears. It's a usual feature to see the hierarchy or tags which gives me easily access to the tags from design view for easy altering in the properties window. I think too many developers love to do things the hard way and sludge thru tags in HTML view and hardly use this, but it frustrates me when it doesn't work all the time. Is it me? Nah....

  The title for this question pretty much sums up what I'm asking. I've got a list of taxonomy terms, and I'm using a view to display the latest post to each one. I'd like to also display a custom field set up in CCK just under this. Currently, I'm just using "date updated" of the taxonomy term itself which was easy to set up in views. I'd like to drill a little deeper and get the custom "event date" field I've added to the content type last posted to the taxonomy term I'm "viewing". I've got a feeling I'm going to have to write my own database query for this. If (I can avoid that){ How do I set up such a view? } Else{ What's the best practice for including lower level database queries alongside views? }

• "Filtering" Cells in a UITableView. Multiple Views? Subviews?

  (First question related to iPhone development, so apologies for sounding off-track.) I'm creating a view that has a few things; a UITabBarController controlling 3 UITableViews. Two of these TableViews are filtered versions of the 3rd. All of them will be making a JSON call (still working on that) to retrieve a list of objects. So, because these views are related in some way, would there be a more "sane" way to display this data? With say, subviews? Or would I have to just create 1 view for each that returns the desired data and be done with it? If it helps at all, I have full control over the API I'm talking with, so changes to that that help with this don't really matter to me too much. Thanks in advance!

• AS3 Font embedding problem in ComboBox on a loaded movie clip

  Hi all, I have three movie clips, say, LoaderMC, ChildMC1, and ChildMC2. ChildMC1 has TLFTextfields in it with embedded fonts. ChildMC2 has both TLFTextfields as well as combo boxes.(with embedded fonts) When I compile those movieclips separately, I can view the combo box texts without any problem. If I load the ChildMC1 and ChildMC2 into the LoaderMC, the texts doesn't appear at all on both TLFtextfields and Combo Boxes. I tried embedding the fonts in the LoaderMC, then, TLFTextfields was able to show the texts but still the ComboBoxes couldn't display the text. If I don't embed the fonts in the combo box, I can able to view the texts. What could be the problem? I read an article which says, "No one has completely understood the font embedding in flash AS3, we just have to do trial and error, to get it done" I don't know how far it is true, but in my case it seems, I should agree! Please help me...

• Getting Tap/Touch Position when selecting a TableView cell

  Hi, hope to get some help here because this is something that really makes me mad... I have a view with a tableView, and when I tap a cell I want to present a popOver window pointing the arrow to the cell I tapped. the things that I think I need is: 1- the position of the cell in the screen (not in the view, because on large tables the Y value of the cell's rect could be grater than screen hight) or 2- a CGPoint or something similar that represents the point in the screen I tapped. I can't figured this out, and makes me really mad!!! Any help will very very very very usefull. Have a nice day.

• How no make a button show UINavigationBar only in 3 of 5 tabs in UITabBar?

  I have an app, where there's a UITabBar with 5 tabs. When user shakes the device, I want the UINavigationBar to push an UIImageView. When I show the UIImageView, I need to hide both tab and nav bars. After that, when user taps the UIImageView, the NavBar appears again and user can go to the UIImageView's parent view. I make the Nav Bar appear like this: [[self navigationController] setNavigationBarHidden:NO animated:YES]; But in two tabs I have to make the Nav Bar appear, so user can switch to UIImageView's parentView and then, when the parent view appears, hide the nav bar. How can I do it?
