    Hi I was trying to mobilise my website and I ran into an issue with Jquery. When I was trying to perform a jquery call (.$ajax) it was not getting rendered. If yes, can I automatically download and install jquery in the browser using some javascript?

  • viewstack causing error 1065 variable not defined issue?

    I've got an flex application where I have a left side TREE control and a viewstack on the right and when someone selects the tree it loads the named viewstack based on the hidden node value of the XML of the tree. But it's throwing a error 1065 variable not defined on a viewstack which worked on the last browser refresh/reload. It's not related to a particular viewstack from what I can tell it just seems to throw the error on certain render events.     If I have a console application, is there any way I can handle the following: Ctrl-C (I know the answer to this. Using Console.TreatControlCAsInput and Console.CancelKeyPress) Session termination, such as when someone logs off Process exit, such as when someone uses the task manager to close the application. I know that if I was writing a unix application, I would handle various signals to catch the request to close (SIGTERM from memory), but I also know I need to handle these messages pretty quickly and exit before the system does a kill -9 (SIGKILL). But for a C# console application, I'm not sure how to do this.

  • Google App Engine - Calling getSession().invalidate(); causes app engine to act weird.

    When I call hreq.getSession().invalidate(); app engine slows down tremendously. I looked at appstats and saw that on a page where no database calls are made, it was calling memcache.get and datastore.get 23 times each. The stack trace of these calls showed that it was being called from getSession(). This only happens on the production server. Every time I make a request to a page, it makes a bunch of memcache and datastore calls. This slow down goes away though when i restart my browser. When I changed the code to simply set the isLoggedIn property of the session to false, rather than calling hreq.getSession().invalidate();, everything was fine. As a test, I didn't invalidate my session, but I changed the value of my browser's session cookie, and the app engine exhibited the same behavior. Is this a bug with the app engine?

  • Ignore certificate errors when requesting a URL in Java

    I'm trying to print a URL (without having a browser involved at all) but the URL is currently throwing the following: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target I'm calling the URL using a JEditorPane's setPage method, which just takes a URL as a parameter. Assuming I can't change anything server side and I still need to get to this resource, how would I go about ignoring the certificate error (or something else that gets me to my goal)? Accessing this URL via a browser tells me the site is untrusted and asks me if I want to proceed.

    is it possible to split 2 images vertically and when resizing the browser, it wont overlap but stay vertically centered? can the left image stay fixed so the right side of it won't cut off(overlap) this is what i have now, but when resizing the browser smaller, it pushes the left image underneath the right. rather have the images cut off on the outer sides and never overlap each other in the middle, make sense? wrapper { width:1680px; max-width:1680px; height:500px; margin: 0 auto; } left-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; left: auto; height:500px; } right-image { width: 50%; position:absolute; right: 0px; height:500px; }

    I have a DownloadManager class that manages multiple DownloadItem objects. Each DownloadItem has events like ProgressChanged and DownloadCompleted. Usually you want to use the same event handler for all download items, so it's a bit annoying to have to set the event handlers over and over again for each DownloadItem.   • JQuery: Push Effect?

    I'm currently using the JQuery slideDown/slideUp effect and am not accomplishing what I want. Essentially, I want to create an action where I "push" a div off the top of the browser window. Something similar to the following push effect example. How can I do this with JQuery? The problem with just using slideDown/slideUp is that the other DIV just overlaps the div I'm hiding. But instead, I want to PUSH the div I don't want visible off the top of the browser window.

  • Ninject InThreadScope Binding

    I have a Windows service that contains a file watcher that raises events when a file arrives. When an event is raised I will be using Ninject to create business layer objects that inside of them have a reference to an Entity Framework context which is also injected via Ninject. In my web applications I always used InRequestScope for the context, that way within one request all business layer objects work with the same Entity Framework context. In my current Windows service scenario, would it be sufficient to switch the Entity Framework context binding to a InThreadScope binding? In theory when an event handler in the service triggers it's executed under some thread, then if another file arrives simultaneously it will be executing under a different thread. Therefore both events will not be sharing an Entity Framework context, in essence just like two different http requests on the web. One thing that bothers me is the destruction of these thread scoped objects, when you look at the Ninject wiki: .InThreadScope() - One instance of the type will be created per thread. .InRequestScope() - One instance of the type will be created per web request, and will be destroyed when the request ends. Based on this I understand that InRequestScope objects will be destroyed (garbage collected?) when (or at some point after) the request ends. This says nothing however on how InThreadScope objects are destroyed. To get back to my example, when the file watcher event handler method is completed, the thread goes away (back to the thread pool?) what happens to the InThreadScope-d objects that were injected? EDIT: One thing is clear now, that when using InThreadScope() it will not destroy your object when the handler for the filewatcher exits. I was able to reproduce this by dropping many files in the folder and eventually I got the same thread id which resulted in the same exact Entity Framework context as before, so it's definitely not sufficient for my applications. In this case a file that came in 5 minutes later could be using a stale context that was assigned to the same thread before.

  • Adding editFTPnetPRO to SSIS package causes error message

    I'm trying to add some secure FTP code to an SSIS package. I've used the EnterpriseDT product successfully on other .NET projects, so I wanted to incorporate it into an SSIS 2008 package I'm working on. If I create a Script Task (VB), edit the script, choose Project | Add Reference, and select the editFTPnetPRO.dll file, it comes back with this error: No template information found. See the application log in Event Viewer for more details. To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. The application log doesn't contain any pertinent details. I have no idea what this is trying to tell me. I've gone down a couple dead ends searching for this error message and following the prescribed fixes, but nothing has fixed it yet. Any idea what might be going wrong? P.S. - I tried the devenv.exe /installvstemplates fix, which didn't change anything. Update: Here is the error captured in the SSIS package when you try to run it: Error: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'edtFTPnetPRO, Version=6.3.1.20, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0dce1ad63760d80b' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified. Where is it looking for this file? I tried copying it to the project direcory, the bin folder, and the C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.nnnn folder, but it still can't find it, and it won't tell me where it's looking.

  • Is It Possible To Use Javascript/CSS To Swap Style Sheets When A Mobile Device Rotates?

    I am working on a site that must be designed with mobile accessibility in mind. As part of our brainstorming, we wondered whether it's possible to detect, for a mobile browser (i.e. Mobile Safari or the Android browser), when the viewing device has changed orientation, and to use that as a trigger to change page content? As the title of this question implies, our best-case scenario is the ability to detect the orientation change and use it to alter the CSS on the fly so as to present a slightly different page for landscape versus portrait. Of course we can just design for a page that looks good one way and make it obvious that it's supposed to be viewed that way, but the cool-stuff factor of a page that looks good either way is pretty appealing. Is this idea implementable? Practical?

    Hello I have an ASP:Repeater Which I would like to display a list of check boxes in. These check boxes are related to a list of user preferences and the users resulting answer. See Code Bellow. I would like to add do one of the following if possible Option 1: It would be great if I could use the Event in the Repeater:OnItemCommand(...) to fire if any of the items change. It would seem to me that this event will only fire if there is a Button | LinkButton | ImageButton item in the list. IE it will not fire if I put in a check box with AutopostBack="True" Option 2: Is there a way I could attach a method to an Event of CheckBox:CheckChanged I would need to pass this method a parameter saying which question/answer combo to change. Option 3: Its your answer if you know an easier way that would be awesome.     I would like to know if the following is possible: As part of the PageLoad of an ASP.Net page request: Use HttpWebRequest (POST) to make a request to a forms authentication webpage of a different web application Examine the response to see if the authentication succeeded (identifiable if an authentication cookie has been set) If it fails, then finish the ASP.Net page request, which will display a message saying "couldn't auto-login" or some such thing If success, then instead of completing the ASP.Net page lifecycle, use "Response.Write" to send the response from the HttpWebRequest back to the browser (thus essentially displaying the webpage from the HttpWebRequest) If the above is possible, then, is there also a way to transfer the authentication cookie from the HttpWebResponse to the requesting browser? My gut feeling is probably not - but if this is the case, then how do proxy servers handle such things? Is that not essentially what they are doing? Thanks for any help

    I have started prgramming a windows service. I have added a notify icon from the toolbox. It has the small notify icon that appears in the systray as a member of those icons. It works so far. So far I have a blank form. I have used the DoubleClick for the notifyIcon to bring up the form (I will use the form for something later). Now I have a list of things I want to accomplish to make this work like a true windows service. First of all, if possible, I owuld like to remove the maximize and cancel button on the form. Most windos service apps that I have seen offer the ability to close the app by right-mouse-button clicking on the notify icon which brings up a menu of options. I see in the properties of the form under Misc there is an CancelButton. But I do not see how do deactivate it. In the Properties of the forum I see under Window Style there is a ControlBox option that, if I turn to false, all three buttons, (minimize, maximize and cancel) go away. These are not what i am looking for. I would not like the option for them to resize, maximize or close the form here. I suspect people will close the box intending to make the box go away while still wanting the app to run. Under the "Focus" caption in Properties, there id "Deactivate". I have created my own event/method/function for this and in debug I noticed that when you click on the x-box in the upper right corner, this function is called. The problem is that after the function is over, the app closes anyway. How do I over-ride this function? Secondly, how do you catch the right button click event on the notify icon in the systray? I can see how to create events for "Click" and "MouseClick" etc. but how so I determine which button was click? Using the right buton click is how such programs know when to pull up a menu. So I would like to know how to do this as well.

  • Should I replace string patterns in asp.net mvc using a custom viewengine?

    Have an ASP.NET MVC site that is localized. The localization functionality adds the two digit language ID to the URL, e.g. /es/Page. If no language Id is found in the URL, the site switches to the user's browser culture. All's good. However, the site's hyperlinks, a mixture of hard-coded href tags, actionlinks, etc., don't include the base language ID, so when clicking through the site the set culture is lost, and the site reverts to the user's browser culture. My (lazy) thought is to replace all href values, that don't point to an external site, with the localized URL (e.g. include the /es/). Otherwise, all site links will need to be updated to include the culture code. Is this just plain dumb? Or, reasonable, and should be done using a custom view engine, or some other approach?

    I have an O(n^2) operation that requires me to read line i from a file, and then compare line i to every line in the file. This repeats for all i. I wrote the following code to do this with 2 file handles, but it does not yield the result I am looking for. I imagine this is a simple error on my part.     Hi, I'm populating a listview with a list of databases on a selected SQL instance, then retrieving a value from each database (It's internal product version, column doesn't always exist) I'm calling the below function to populate the second column of the listview: item.SubItems.Add(DBVersionCheck(serverName, database.Name)) Function DBVersionCheck(ByVal SelectedInstance As String, ByVal SelectedDatabase As String) Dim m_Connection As New SqlConnection("Server=" + SelectedInstance + ";User Id=sa;Password=password;Database=" + SelectedDatabase) Dim db_command As New SqlCommand("select Setting from SystemSettings where [Setting] = 'version'", m_Connection) Try m_Connection.Open() Return db_command.ExecuteScalar().trim m_Connection.Dispose() Catch ex As Exception 'MessageBox.Show(ex.Message) Return "NA" Finally m_Connection.Dispose() End Try End Function This works fine except it's creating a connection to each database and leaving it open. My understanding is the close()\dispose() releases only the connection from the pool in ado rather than the actual connection to sql. How would I close the actual connections after I've retrieved the value? Leaving these open will create hundreds of connections to databases that will probably not be used for that session.
