• Tortoise svn Subversion Update Error

  Hey All, I recently was working on an open source project... Everything was going great for a week or two but them something happened and I don't know what, and I can't update anymore! I know the url is correct, because I can check it out on my linux server... but when I try to check it out with tortoise svn on my windows box it doesn't work. The error message I'm getting is this OPTIONS of 'http://opensource.adobe.com/svn/opensource/flex/sdk/branches': 200 OK (http://opensource.adobe.com) Does anyone know what that means. The 200 OK part seems odd to me... it connected to the server but wasn't able to get the code? And what does OPTIONS of... mean? I've looked around, and some people were having proxy issues... but i'm not behind a proxy, and I made sure that tortoise svn is not trying to use a proxy. If anyone could help, that would be great! The backend is PostgreSQL and if I can't make it as an expression I'll create a string instead. If you run the above code you'll hopefully see... 1) Editing the text widget triggers the event handler but it seems to fire it off without registering the actual change, 2) Even when the text widget is cleared (ie, keep pressing BackSpace) it still seems to have a one character length string, 3) The output widget only receives its update when the NEXT event trigger is fired despite the fact the data came on the previous event. Is this just how bindings work in tkinter or am i missing something here? The behaviour i would like when updating the input widget is: 1) Show the change, 2) Enter event handler, 3) Update output widget, 4) Show message box.

  Hi guys! I am feeling that I have terribly wrong somewhere. I was working on a small asp.net app. I have some dynamic themes in the \theme folder and have implemented a page base class to load the master page on the fly. The master is having the ContentPlaceHolder like: <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="cphBody" runat="server" /> Now I am adding pages that are derived from my base class and added the form elements. I know, Visual Studio has problem showing the page in the design mode. I have a dropdown box and wish to add the event of onselectedindexchange.   In this example I create three buttons 'one' 'two' 'three'. In JavaScript, variables inside for-loops seem to be 'static' in the C language sense. Is there some way to create separate variables for each click function, i.e. not using the same reference? • Firefox extension: How to inject javascript into page and run it?

  I'm writing a Firefox extension to allow users to annotate any page with text and/or drawings and then save an image of the page including the annotations. Use cases would be clients reviewing web pages, adding feedback to the page, saving the image of this and emailing it back to the web developer or testers taking annotated screenshots of GUI bugs etc. I wrote the annotation/drawing functionality in javascript before developing the extension. This script adds a <canvas> element to the page to draw upon as well as a toolbar (in a <div>) that contains buttons (each <canvas> elements) for the different draw tools e.g. line, box, ellipse, text, etc. This works fine when manually included in a page. I now need a way for the extension to: Inject this script into any page including pages I don't control. This needs to occur when the user invokes the extension, which can be after the page has loaded. Once injected the init() function in this script that adds the canvas and toolbar elements etc. needs to be run somehow, but I can't determine how to call this from the extension. Note that once injected I don't need this script to interact with the extension (as the extension just takes a screenshot of the entire document (and removes the added page elements) when the user presses the save button in the extension chrome).

• Strange Sql Server 2005 behavior

  Background: I have a site built in ASP.NET with Sql Server 2005 as it's database. The site is the only site on a Windows Server 2003 box sitting in my clients server room. The client is a local school district, so for data security reasons there is no remote desktop access and no remote Sql Server connection, so if I have to service the database I have to be at the terminal. I do have FTP access to update ASP code. Problem: I was contacted yesterday about an issue with the system. When I looked in to it, it seems a bug that I had solved nearly a year ago had returned. I have a stored procedure that used to take an int as a parameter but a year ago we changed the structure of the system and updated the stored procedure to take an nvarchar(10). The stored procedure somehow changed back to taking an int instead of an nvarchar. There is an external hard drive connected to the server that copies data periodically and has the ability to restore the server in case of failure. I would have assumed that somehow an older version of the database had been restored, but data that I know was inserted 7 days and 1 day before the bug occurred is still in the database. Question: Is there anyway that the structure of a Sql Server 2005 database can revert to a previous version or be restored to a previous version without touching the actual data? No one else should have access to the server so I'm going a little insane trying to figure out how this even happened. Any ideas?

• PHP weirdness extending IMagick class

  This is a really weird one. I have some code that is happily working on version 2.1.1RC1 of the php5-imagick module. It's basically just a class I wrote that extends the Imagick class and manages images stored in a database. Since upgrading to version 3.0.0RC1 (thankfully only on my dev box) things have gone to hell. It seems that object members are writeable but are NOT readable. Take the following sample code: class db_image extends IMagick { private $data; function __construct( $id = null ){ parent::__construct(); $this->data = 'some plain text'; echo $this->data; } This will output absolutely NOTHING. My debugger indicates that the contents of $this-data are the correct string value, but I am unable to read the value back out of the member variable. Seriously. WTF? Does anyone know what is causing this or has seen it before? I don't even know how to replicate this behaviour in my own classes.

• Refreshing a JPA result list which is bound with a jTable

  First off, I hage to write this on my mobile. But I'll try to format it properly. In Netbeans I created a jTable and bound it's values to a JPA result set. This works great. The qery contains a param which i set in the pre-create box of the "query result" component. So just before netbeans creates the query result i write this: myQuery.setParameter("year", "1997"); This works fine. Now, I have an event handler which is supposed to change the param and display the new values in the table. So I do this: myQuery.setParameter("year", "2005"); myResultList.clear(); myResultList.addAll(myQuery.getResultList()); jTable1.updateUI(); This works, but it feels wrong to me. Note: the result set is bound to the table. So I was hoping there was something like this: myQuery.setParameter("year", "2005"); myResultList.refresh(); Is there something like this?

• PHP Resize image down and crop using imagemagick

  I'm trying to downsize image uploaded by users at the time of upload. This is no problem but I want to get specific with sizes now. I'm looking for some advice on an algorithm im struggling to produce that will take any shape image - square or rectangle of any widths/heights and downsize it. This image needs to be downsized to a target box size (this changes but is stored in a variable).. So it needs to downsize the image so that both the width and height are larger than the width and height of the target maintaining aspect ratio. but only just.. The target size will be used to crop the image so there is no white space around the edges etc. I'm looking for just the algorithm behind creating the correct resize based on different dimension images - I can handle the cropping, even resizing in most cases but it fails in a few so i'm reaching out. I'm not really asking for PHP code more pseudo. Either is fine obviously. Thanks Kindly.

• Some languages don't work when using Word 2007 Spellcheck from Interop

  I'm using the Word 2007 spellchecker via Interop in a VB.net desktop app. When using the default language (English), it works fine. If I set the language to French via LanguageId, it also works. But if I set it to French (Canadian) (Word.WdLanguageID.wdFrenchCanadian), it doesn't work. There's no error message, it simply runs and says the document contains no errors. I know it does, if I paste the exact same text into Word itself and run it with the French (Canadian) dictionary, it finds errors. Just why that dictionary doesn't work is kind of a mystery to me. • Concatenate 2 text elements on a line with full-width border using CSS only

  Okay, I'm a newbie to CSS3, so please be gentle. ;-) I'm working with some Wordpress code (Woocommerce plugin, to be exact), and I'm trying to format a line of code in a sidebar so that 2 separate text items (one in an <a, the other in a <span are all on the same line, the full width of the column, and with a bottom border. It looks something like this (except the bottom border on each text do not go all the way across the enclosing sidebar box): http://www.dalluva.com/temp/browse-catalog.JPG (sorry, I'm new and can't post inline images yet) Here's the code fragment I'm trying to live with (i.e. I don't want to change it): <div class="widget"> ... <ul class="product-categories"> <li class="cat-item"> <a href="http://localhost/dalluva/shop/product-category/books/">Books</a> <span class="count">(5)</span> </li> ... • Google Maps InfoBubble pixelOffset

  I am trying to implement a custom infoBubble that has the box opening to the side of a marker. This has turned out to be harder than expected. Using the normal infoWindow you can use pixelOffset. See here for the documentation Using infoBubble this does not seem to be the case. Is there anyway of using pixelOffset in an infoBubble, or something that will do the same thing? I have found this very difficult to search for, as using a google search such as this returns no relevant results Google Search Below is all my resources I have been using. Instead, it just display a simple EditText text box. I wonder what is going wrong. Is it because I put a layout inside another layout? I don't think there is any problem with that right?

• WYSIWYG with Qt - font size woes

  I am creating a custom Qt widget that mimics an A4 printed page and am having problems getting fonts to render at the correct size. My widget uses QPainter::setViewport and QPainter::setWindow to mimic the A4 page, using units of 10ths of a millimetre which enables me to draw easily. However, attempting to create a font at a specific point size doesn't seem to work and using QFont:setPixelSize isn't accurate. Here is some code: View::View(QWidget *parent) : QWidget(parent), printer(new QPrinter) { printer->setPaperSize(QPrinter::A4); printer->setFullPage(true); } void View::paintEvent(QPaintEvent*) { QPainter painter(this); painter.setWindow(0, 0, 2100, 2970); painter.setViewport(0, 0, printer->width(), printer->height()); // Draw a rect at x = 1cm, y = 1cm, 6cm wide and 1 inch high painter.drawRect(100, 100, 600, 254); // Create a 72pt (1 inch) high font QFont font("Arial"); font.setPixelSize(254); painter.setFont(font); // Draw in the same box // The font is too large painter.drawText(QRect(100, 100, 600, 254), tr("Wg\u0102")); // Ack - the actual font size reported by the metrics is 283 pixels! const QFontMetrics fontMetrics = painter.fontMetrics(); qDebug() << "Font height = " << fontMetrics.height(); } So I'm asking for a 254 high font (1 inch, 72 pts) and it's too big and sure enough when I query for the font height via QFontMetrics it is 283 high. Does anyone else know how to use font sizes in points when using custom mapping modes like this? It must be possible. Note that I cannot see how to convert between logical/device points either (i.e. the Win32 DPtoLP/LPtoDP equivalents.)

• How can I diff against a revision of a single file using only the default Git GUI tools?

  I want to view the history of a single file, and then compare a single revision from that history against the current version. On the command line, this is easy: Run: git log -- <filename> Locate the version you want to compare, Run: git diff <commitid> -- <filename> But how can this be done using only the default Git gui tools, git gui and gitk? I know of two methods using gitk, but they're both horribly clunky: Either: Select the New View option from the View menu, Type in the full path to your file into the box labelled Enter files and directories to include, one per line, Locate the version you want to compare by looking at the highlighted items in the top pane, and click on it to select it, Right-click on the current version and select Diff selected - this, Or: Select Tree in the bottom right-hand pane, Locate the file you want to look at, right-click on it, and select Highlight this only, Locate the version you want to compare by looking at the highlighted items in the top pane, and click on it to select it, Right-click on the current version and select Diff selected - this, Click on the file in the bottom right-hand pane to jump to it in the diff output, or scroll manually. Is a better method than this?

• ASP.NET MVC 2 - How do I use DropDownListFor ?

  I have a simple model / view with things like Username, Password etc. and use helpers fine to hook it up. I now have a field called "NumberOfChildren". I want to store a number in it (int) and I want it render a dropdown box containing "None", "1", "2" etc. My thoughts would be that the model would have a list or a method that returns a list, so I can specify the values such as NumberOfChildren_List that I put the data into, and then DropDownListFor pulls that list and renders it, matching the value to the value of the item in the dropdown. However after spending about 30 minutes on trying to figure out how on earth it works, I gave up and decided to ask here. Any ideas? Edit: Here's some code... <%: Html.DropDownListFor(m => m.NumberOfChildren, new SelectList(Model.NumberOfChildrenListValues))%> and in the model [Required] [DisplayName("How many children do you have?")] public string NumberOfChildren { get; set; } public IEnumerable<string> NumberOfChildrenListValues { get { List<string> list = new List<string>() { "None", "1", "2" }; return list; } set { } } I get an object not set to instance of object error though. Ideas?
