reading from app.config file

Playing a .TS file on iOS

We're working with some hardware that produces files in the .TS format, and we'd like to play them on an iOS device. (The files are internally consistent with what iOS supports--MPEG-4 video, AAC audio.) We've been investigating three options so far: Roll our own integrated HTTP Live Streaming server and serve up a faux M3U8 playlist from within the app. This... doesn't seem to want to play nice, and we've had mixed luck actually getting the .TS files to play on devices. Unwrap the MPEG-4 and AAC data from the TS file and re-wrap it as MP4. This, I'm told, is exceedingly difficult to do, and I haven't found anything useful online that could shed light on how to do it. We've got code in the pipeline to do it but it won't be ready until long after we need it. If we could do it, I could easily subclass NSURLProtocol and have it working within a matter of hours minutes. Use FFmpeg to implement option #2. FFmpeg seems like a possible solution but it isn't configured to build for iOS and I don't have the background to get it working (whereas the rest of our engineers don't have the Apple background needed.) I think #2 is our best bet, but as I don't know the ins and outs of MPEG-2 TS and MPEG-4, I don't have the ability to put it together myself. Does anybody have any insight into this problem? Perhaps some experience playing local TS files on iOS, or some tips on converting from TS to MP4?

Forcing file redirection on x64 for a 32-bit application

The silent redirection of 64-bit system files to their 32-bit equivalents can be turned off and reverted with Wow64DisableWow64FsRedirection and Wow64RevertWow64FsRedirection. We use this for certain file identity checks in our application. The problem is that in performing some of theses tasks, we might call a framework or Windows API in a DLL that has not yet been loaded. If redirection is enabled at that time, the wrong version of the dll may be loaded resulting in a XXX is not a valid Win32 application error. I've identified the few API calls in question and what I'd like to do force the redirection on for the duration of that call then revert it back - just the opposite of the provided Win32 APIs. Unfortunately these calls do not provide any sort of WOW64 compatibility flag like some of the registry methods do. The obvious alternative is to use Wow64EnableWow64FsRedirection, pass TRUE for Wow64FsEanbledRedirection. However there are a variety of warnings about the use of this method and a note that it is not compatible with Disable/Revert combo methods that have replaced it. Is there a safe way to force redirection on for a give Win32 call? The docs state the redirection is thread specific so I've considered spinning up a new thread for the specific call with appropriate locks and waits, but I was hoping for a simpler solution.

Expression Blend doesn't recognize comand objects declared in code behind file

I have a WPF UserControl. The code behind file declares some RoutedUICommand objects which are referenced in the XAML. The application builds and runs just fine. However Expression Blend 3 cannot load the XAML in the designer and gives errors like this one: The member "ResetCameraComand" is not recognized or accessible. The class and the member are both public. Building and rebuilding the project in Blend and restarting Blend hasn't helped. Any ideas what the problem is? Segmentation fault while feeding in an mpeg file through ffmpeg

Windows Batch file to echo a specific line number

So for the second part of my current dilemma, I have a list of folders in c:\file_list.txt. I need to be able to extract them (well, echo them with some mods) based on the line number because this batch script is being called by an iterative macro process. Doh! So, I've tried echoing !a! (result: ECHO is off.); I've tried echoing %a (result: a) I figured the easy thing to do would be to modify the head.bat code found here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/130116/dos-batch-commands-to-read-first-line-from-text-file except rather than echoing every line - I'd just echo the last line found. Not as simple as one might think. I've noticed that my counter is staying at zero for some reason; I'm wondering if the set /a counter+=1 is doing what I think it's doing.

Loading a class file immediately AFTER startup

We have a few war files deployed inside an ear file. Some of the war files have a class that caches static data from our PLM system in singletons. Since some of the classes take several minutes to load we use the load-on-startup in the web.xml to load them ahead of time. This all works fine until we attempt to re-deploy the application on our production servers. (WebLogic 10.3) We get an exception from our PLM API about a dll already being loaded. Our PLM vendor has confirmed that this is a problem and stated that they don't support using the load-on-startup. This is also a huge problem on our development boxes where we have redeploy the app all the time. Most of us, when we're not working on one of the apps that uses a cache, have them commented out. Obviously we can't do that for the production servers. Right now we transfer the ear to the production server, deploy it in the console, wait for it to crash, shut the app server instance down and then start it up again. We need to find a way around this... One suggestion was to create a servlet that we can call after the server boots that will load the various caches. While this will work I'm looking for something a bit cleaner. Is there anyway to detect once the server started and then fire off the methods? Thanks.

Rate limiting a ruby file stream

I am working on a project which involves uploading flash video files to a S3 bucket from a number of geographically distributed nodes. The video files are about 2-3mb each, and we are only sending one file (per node) every ten minutes, however the bandwidth we consume needs to be rate limited to ~20k/s, as these nodes are delivering streaming media to a CDN, and due to the locations we are only able to get 512k max upload. I have been looking into the ASW-S3 gem and while it doesn't offer any kind of rate limiting I am aware that you can pass in a IO Stream. Given this I am wondering if it might be possible to create a rate-limited stream which overrides the read method, adds in the rate limiting logic (e.g. in its simplest form a call to sleep between reads) and then call out to the super of the overridden method. Another option I considered is hacking the code for Net::HTTP and putting the rate limiting into the send_request_with_body_stream method which is using a while loop, but I'm not entirely sure which would be the best option. I have attempted at extending the IO class, however that didn't work at all, simply inheriting from the class with class ThrottledIO < IO didn't do anything. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Trying to attach a file from SD Card to email

I am trying to launch an Intent to send an email. All of that works, but when I try to actually send the email a couple 'weird' things happen. here is code Intent sendIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND); sendIntent.setType("image/jpeg"); sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_SUBJECT, "Photo"); sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.parse("file://sdcard/dcim/Camera/filename.jpg")); sendIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_TEXT, "Enjoy the photo"); startActivity(Intent.createChooser(sendIntent, "Email:")); So if I launch using the Gmail menu context It shows the attachment, lets me type who the email is to, and edit the body & subject. No big deal. I hit send, and it sends. The only thing is the attachment does NOT get sent. So. I figured, why not try it w/ the Email menu context (for my backup email account on my phone). It shows the attachment, but no text at all in the body or subject. When I send it, the attachment sends correctly. That would lead me to believe something is quite wrong. Do I need a new permission in the Manifest launch an intent to send email w/ attachment? What am I doing wrong?

Self-describing file format for gigapixel images?

In medical imaging, there appears to be two ways of storing huge gigapixel images: Use lots of JPEG images (either packed into files or individually) and cook up some bizarre index format to describe what goes where. Tack on some metadata in some other format. Use TIFF's tile and multi-image support to cleanly store the images as a single file, and provide downsampled versions for zooming speed. Then abuse various TIFF tags to store metadata in non-standard ways. Also, store tiles with overlapping boundaries that must be individually translated later. In both cases, the reader must understand the format well enough to understand how to draw things and read the metadata. Is there a better way to store these images? Is TIFF (or BigTIFF) still the right format for this? Does XMP solve the problem of metadata? The main issues are: Storing images in a way that allows for rapid random access (tiling) Storing downsampled images for rapid zooming (pyramid) Handling cases where tiles are overlapping or sparse (scanners often work by moving a camera over a slide in 2D and capturing only where there is something to image) Storing important metadata, including associated images like a slide's label and thumbnail Support for lossy storage What kind of (hopefully non-proprietary) formats do people use to store large aerial photographs or maps? These images have similar properties.

Classic ASP - Email form with attached file - please help

Hi Guys, Ive got abit of a problem ive got an email web form that send the input to an email address but what I now need is a file input field were the user can also send an image as an attachment. So contact name, logo (attachment). Ive been told in order to send the attachment it needs to be saved in a folder on my hosting before it can be sent. Ive spoken to the hosting company and they dont have anything in place to make this easier such as aspupload. How to troubleshoot PHP session file empty issue?

Session Support enabled Registered save handlers files user sqlite Registered serializer handlers php php_binary wddx Directive Local Value Master Value session.auto_start Off Off session.bug_compat_42 On On When the page is accessed, there is session file sess_lnrk7ttpai8187v9q6iok74p20 created in my "D:\xampp\tmp" folder. But the content is empty. With Firebug, I can see cookies about the session. Cookie PHPSESSID=lnrk7ttpai8187v9q6iok74p20 It seems session data is not flushed to files. Issue in achartengine jar file

Actually i have created an app in which i have used achartengine to contruct graph. It was running ok, but today i saw an update for android SDK to r17. Once i upadated the sdk the app i had build started crash. In the logcat i show the following error report. Saving HttpResponse/Request to file system

Here is my scenario. User fills out this large page which is dynamically created based off DB values. Those values can change. When the user fills out the page and hits submit we want to save a copy of the page as html on the server, this way if the text or wording changes, when they go back to view their posted information, it is historically accurate. So I basically need to do this protected void buttonSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { //collect information into an object to save it in the db bool result = BusinessLogic.Save(myBusinessObject); if (result) //!!! Here is where I need to save this page as an html file on my servers IFS!!!! else //whatever Response.Redirect("~/SomeOtherPage.aspx"); } Any help is greatly apprciated. Also I CANNOT just request the data from the url because query string parameters are a big no no in this case. The key to pull the database info up (at its highest level) is all in session so I cant just request a url and save it. Thanks!

GIT clone repo across local file system

Hi all, I am a complete Noob when it comes to GIT. I have been just taking my first steps over the last few days. I setup a repo on my laptop, pulled down the Trunk from an SVN project (had some issues with branches, not got them working), but all seems ok there. I now want to be able to pull or push from the laptop to my main desktop. The reason being the laptop is handy on the train as I spend 2 hours a day travelling and can get some good work done. But my main machine at home is great for development. So I want to be able to push / pull from the laptop to the main computer when I get home. I thought the most simple way of doing this would be to just have the code folder shared out across the LAN and do: git clone file://192.168.10.51/code unfortunately this doesn't seem to be working for me: so I open a git bash cmd and type the above command, I am in C:\code (the shared folder for both machines) this is what I get back: Initialized empty Git repository in C:/code/code/.git/ fatal: 'C:/Program Files (x86)/Git/code' does not appear to be a git repository fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly How can I share the repository between the two machines in the most simple of ways. There will be other locations that will be official storage points and places where the other devs and CI server etc will pull from, this is just so that I can work on the same repo across two machines. MSBuild file for deployment process

I could do with some pointers, code examples or references that may help me do the following in an msbuild file to help speed up the deployment process.. This scenario involves getting a developers 'local' version onto a 'development' server.. Increment a developers local Web Applications Assembly version number Publish a developers local Web Application files somewhere .rar the publsihed files or folder into the format v[IncrementedAssemblyNumber].rar Copy the .rar to somewhere Backup (.rar) the existing live website folder (located elsewhere) in the format Pre_v[IncrementedAssemblyNumber].rar Move the backed up .rar to a /Backup folder. Overwrite the development web files with the published local web files Should be simple for all those MSBUILD Gurus out there. Like I said, answers or 'Good and applicable' links would be much appreciated. Also i'm thinking of getting one of the MSbuild books. From what I can tell there are 2, possibly 3 contenders. I am not using TFS. Can anyone recommend a book for beginning MSBUILD? Ideally from people that have read more than one book on the subject. Cheers, -- Lee

importing a large txt file in MySQL ?

Hi I am loading a text data in MySQL using the following command 'mysql> Load Data local Infile 'C:\\Documents and Settings\\Scan\\My Documents\\D ownloads\\instance_types_en.nt\\Copy of instance_types_en.txt' into table dbpedi aentities.resources fields terminated by ' ' lines terminated by 'rn';' Data is like (actually there is a newline after '.') <a> <b> <c> . <a> <b> <c> . <a> <b> <c> . <a> <b> <c> .<a> <b> <c> . <a> <b> <c> . Table has and auto increment ID field and then text fields for all three values. File size is about 750MB The problems are 1. appears to be in first text field 2. only 2MB data is imported
