  • Accessing super class function using subclass object

    - by bdhar
I have an object for a subclass who is of it's superclass type. There is a overridden function in subclass which gets executed when called using the object. How to call the parent's function using the same object? Is there any way to achieve this? package supercall; public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { SomeClass obj = new SubClass(); obj.go(); } } class SomeClass { SomeClass() { } public void go() { System.out.println("Someclass go"); } } class SubClass extends SomeClass { SubClass() { } @Override public void go() { System.out.println("Subclass go"); } } Consider the code above. Here it prints Subclass go . Instead I have to print Superclass go .

  • Cannot run/debug Java applications in Eclipse (JavaTimeZone issue)

    - by Andre
I'm trying to get started with Eclipse/Java/Scala on a MacBook. The installed JDK was 1.5. The SDT plugin for Scala requires 1.6 which was included in an OS update, but I also manually installed a package from Apple to update 1.6. The problem is that I cannot run anything from Eclipse. I always get the following error: An internal error occurred during: "Launching TestFooBasicTest". Could not initialize class com.ibm.icu.impl.JavaTimeZone I also tried to use the old 1.5 version, but to no avail. What is going wrong here?

  • JPA persistence.xml share same jar file

    - by user213855
Hi! I'm wondering if I can share the same jar file for several persistence units.. I mean: I have two persistence units described in my persistence.xml file and the entities are not in the same JAR. Entities are in a separated JAR file but, in that one, there are entites for both persistence units. I think I red somewhere that I coould use tag something like this: externalEntities.jar#com.mycompany.EntityA so I could separate them. I tried this solution and it doesn't work. Now I guess that it couldn't be done to package all entities (for two different persistence units) in the same JAR file. What do yo think?

  • Excanvas does not work in IE8 at all

    - by Matt Null
I simply cannot get excanvas to work at all. I have tried everything I can think of. I don't know if it has something to do with my server or what, but I haven't seen a working excanvas image yet. for instance... I this example comes with the excanvas package and it does not work for me... does anyone know what this could possibly be? thanks http://www.javascriptkids.com/tools/excanvas/examples/example1.html

  • Custom Sorting on Custom Field in Django

    - by RotaJota
In my app, I have defined a custom field to represent a physical quantity using the quantities package. class AmountField(models.CharField): def __init__(self, *args, **kwargs): ... def to_python(self, value): create_quantities_value(value) Essentially the way it works is it extends CharField to store the value as a string in the database "12 min" and represents it as a quantities object when using the field in a model array(12) * min Then in a model it is used as such: class MyModel(models.Model): group = models.CharField() amount = AmountField() class Meta: ordering = ['group', 'amount'] My issue is that these fields do not seem to sort by the quantity, but instead by the string. So if I have some objects that contain something like {"group":"A", "amount":"12 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"A", "amount":"2 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"20 min"} {"group":"B", "amount":"1 hr"} they end up sorted something like this: >>> MyModel.objects.all() [{A, 12 min}, {A, 2 min}, {A, 20 min}, {B, 1 hr}, {B, 20 min}] essentially alphabetical order. Can I give my custom AmountField a comparison function so that it will compare by the python value instead of the DB value?

  • Java servlet and JSP accessing the same session bean

    - by Mykola Golubyev
Let's say I have simple Login servlet that checks the passed name and creates User object and stores it in a session. User user = new User(); user.setId(name); request.getSession().setAttribute("user", user); response.sendRedirect("index.jsp"); In the index.jsp page I access the user object through jsp:useBean <jsp:useBean id="user" scope="session" class="package.name.User"/> <div class="panel"> Welcome ${user.id} </div> It works so far. The question: is this a valid usage or it is just current implementation uses the same name as the jsp bean id when stores and looks for a bean in a session?

  • How to draw diagonal table borders in latex, like in excel ?

    - by Amyn Bennamane
Is it possible to draw diagonal (parallelogram) cells in LaTeX: the cell content is diagonal, and the cell's originally vertical borders are also diagonal. Here is what I managed to do using the rotating package: \begin{tabular}{|r|c|c|} \hline \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ \\ & \begin{rotate}{45}Trying to save some horizontal space\end{rotate} & \begin{rotate}{45}While keeping headers readable\end{rotate} \\ \hline this & is & a \\ \hline sample & latex & table \\ \hline \end{tabular} Here is a screenshot of the output vs what is possible using excel: Thanks.

  • Why can you reference an imported module using the importing module in python

    - by noam
I am trying to understand why any import can be referenced using the importing module, e.g #module master.py import slave and then >>>import master >>>print master.slave gives <module 'slave' from 'C:\Documents and Settings....'> What is the purpose of the feature? I can see how it can be helpful in a package's __init__.py file, but nothing else. Is it a side effect of the fact that every import is added to the module's namespace and that the module's namespace is visible from the outside? If so, why didn't they make an exception with data imported from other modules (e.g don't show it as part of the module's namespace for other modules)?

  • setting source classpath in eclipse with stupid project structure

    - by lisak
What do you guys do, when you have huge project built with ant for instance, where the source folders are right bellow the root project folder, for building classpath from source files ? putting entire project as a source folder is nonsense. Putting separate folders as source folders can't be done if they are part of the package hierarchy and the only thing I could think of, is to copy the source folders into a separate folder and add it then as source folder which is weird but I don't know how else to do it. Having to duplicate sources just because of the eclipse way of making classpath and also because of somebody doing stupid project structure

  • Enforcing a coding template in the getters of a class in java

    - by Yoav Schwartz
Hello, I want to make sure all getters of the classes in a certain package follow a given template. For example, all getters must be of the form: XXX getYYY(){ classLock.lock(); return YYY; finally{ classLock.unlock(); } } Basically, I want that my project will not compile/run unless all getters are of that form. What is the best way to do that? I would prefer a solution that can be used as an Eclipse plugin. Thanks, Yoav

  • Hibernate Query Language Problem

    - by Sarang
Well, I have implemented a distinct query in hibernate. It returns me result. But, while casting the fields are getting interchanged. So, it generates casting error. What should be the solution? As an example, I do have database, "ProjectAssignment" that has three fields, aid, pid & userName. I want all distinct userName data from this table. I have applied query : select distinct userName, aid, pid from ProjectAssignment Whereas the ProjectAssignment.java file has the fields in sequence aid, pid & userName. Now, here the userName is first field in output. So, Casting is not getting possible. Also, query : select aid, pid, distinct userName from ProjectAssignment is not working. What is the proper query for the same ? Or what else the solution ? The code is as below : System Utilization Service Bean Method where I have to retrieve data : public List<ProjectAssignment> getProjectAssignments() { projectAssignments = ProjectAssignmentHelper.getAllResources(); //Here comes the error return projectAssignments; } ProjectAssignmentHelper from where I fetch Data : package com.hibernate; import java.util.List; import org.hibernate.Query; import org.hibernate.Session; public class ProjectAssignmentHelper { public static List<ProjectAssignment> getAllResources() { List<ProjectAssignment> projectMasters; Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().openSession(); Query query = session.createQuery("select distinct aid, pid, userName from ProjectAssignment"); projectMasters = (List<ProjectAssignment>) query.list(); session.close(); return projectMasters; } } Hibernate Data Bean : package com.hibernate; public class ProjectAssignment implements java.io.Serializable { private short aid; private String pid; private String userName; public ProjectAssignment() { } public ProjectAssignment(short aid) { this.aid = aid; } public ProjectAssignment(short aid, String pid, String userName) { this.aid • Tiny MCE ImageManager Plugin, "cant create instance of plugin"

    - by Lofving
We just bought MCImageManager and went right on to creating our own plugin. I followed http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/MCI … ing_plugin from start to end but got stuck on the last step. After configuring the build.bat file (that comes along the package) it gives me no errors, i checked all paths and it should work but there just is no plugin.dll file anywhere to be found. (The bat file is also linked to the .net 1.4322, that should be changed by you at tinyMCE in my opinion) To circumvent that problem I started a new project and compiled the plugin.dll through Visual Studio. Then placed the dll in the c:..\project\plugins\plugin\bin\ folder (at the same place as the _TemplatePlugin.dll file but with the plugins name) All i get from running the application is "Could not create instance of plugin class: Moxiecode.Manager.Plugins.Plugin" What is it I'm missing? All the other plugins ain't giving this error and they follow the same structure as my custom plugin. Thanks in advance //Micael

  • TeamCity for continuous integration with Visual Studio 2010 solutions/projects

    - by JeffryEngberg
I am running TeamCity build 5.1.1 on a virtual machine that also hosts our SVN environment. A team I support has recently made the move from Visual Studio 2008/Silverlight 3.0 to Visual Studio 2010/Silverlight 4.0 and when investigating how to do continuous integration with Visual Studio 2010 solutions/projects, it is not as cut and dried as it appeared to be in Visual Studio 2008. Previously I was using Web Deployment Projects and targeting different Release Configurations in TeamCity, which would use the Web Deployment Project to package/deploy the code to our various environments. However when checking out the new Publish ability in Visual Studio 2010 I cannot find a way to specify which location to deploy to. Does everything need to be done in MSBuild now (in the solution file or maybe the Web project file?). If anyone has any examples of how they've done Continuous Integration using TeamCity and Visual Studio 2010, it would be greatly appreciated as I am coming up blank at the moment.

  • How can I use Moose with Test::Class?

    - by rassie
    I'm currently refactoring a test suite built up by a colleague and would like to use Test::Class[::Most] while doing so. As I started I figured out I could really use a couple of Moose roles to decouple code a little bit. However, it seems it's not quite possible -- I'm getting error messages like this one: Prototype mismatch: sub My::Test::Class::Base::blessed: none vs ($) at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Sub/Exporter.pm line 896 So the question is: can I use Moose together with Test::Class and if so, how? PS: The code goes like this: package My::Test::Class::Base; use Moose; use Test::Class::Most; with 'My::Cool::Role'; has attr => ( ... );

  • Can't get access to PHPmyAdmin after setting a root password and using Instant Rails

    - by Derek
Wanted to get started with Ruby on Rails so I installed instant rails and set up a mysql password. Problem is now I can't get access to phpmyadmin. From the rails control panel, when I go to configure database (via PhpMyadmin) it opens up phpmyadmin with the message Error MySQL said: Documentation #1045 - Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO) When I used to use XAMPP after setting a password instead of taking me directly within phpmyadmin (as it did without a password) it took me to the login screen instead. With instant rails that's not the case. Anyone had this problem when they first set a mysql password and using the instant rails package?

Fatal Error: no matching class connection index.php <?php import database.connection; $connection = connection::get()->getPersistenceManager(); // ***ERROR HERE*** ?> connection.java package database; import javax.jdo.JDOHelper; import javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactory; public final class connection { private static final PersistenceManagerFactory pmfInstance = JDOHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory("transactions-optional"); private connection() {} public static PersistenceManagerFactory get() { return pmfInstance; } } Quercus is otherwise configured fine, PHP implementation works smoothly on GAE. But when I try to initialize classes, PHP can't find them. What am I doing wrong?

  • Intergration of checkout badges into an order form

    - by Reno
Hi Does anyone know how to integrate several checkout badges into an order form? It might sound obvious to all (or most) but within the html wouldn't the form tag have an action to just one of the online merchants and not all? For example? I would like to have a basic order form which collects a users name, email, uploaded files, project details, and a few packages to choose from. Once they have selected the package most appropriate to them? They would be given a total cost and asked to pay via Paypal, Google Checkout OR Moneybookers. Can anyone help me out on this? Or point me in the direction where I can obtain further knowledge? Thanks in advance. Reno

  • My python auto-login script is broken.

    - by user310392
A long time ago, I wrote a little python script to automatically log me on to the wireless network at my office. Here is the code: #!/opt/local/bin/python from urllib2 import urlopen from ClientForm import ParseResponse try: if "Logged on as" in urlopen("https://MYWIRELESS.com/logon").read(): print "Already logged on." else: forms = ParseResponse(urlopen("https://MYWIRELESS.com/logon"), backwards_compat=False) form = forms[0] form["username"], form["password"] = "ME", "MYPASSWD" urlopen(form.click()) print "Logged on. (probably :-)"; except IOError, e: print "Couldn't connect to wireless login page:\n", e I changed computers recently, and it stopped working. Now, I get the error: File "login.txt", line 4, in <module> from ClientForm import ParseResponse ImportError: No module named ClientForm which makes it look like I don't have some package (ClientForm) installed, so I installed it (sudo port install py-clientform), but I still get the same error. Does anyone have an idea what I'm doing wrong?

  • Setting up java configurations in eclipse..Param files

    - by Charlie
I'm going to be using ECJ for doing genetic programming and I haven't touched java in years. I'm working on setting up the eclipse environment and I'm catching a few snags. The ECJ source has several packages, and several sample programs come along with it. I ran one sample program (called tutorial1) by going to the run configurations and adding -file pathToParamsFile to the program arguments. This made it point to the params file of that tutorial and run that sample. In a new example I am testing (from the package gui) there are TWO params files. I tried pointing to just one param file and a program ran in the console, but there was supposed to be a GUI which did not load. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be greaaatly appreciated.

  • RSA encryption results in server execution timeout

    - by Nilambari
Hi, I am using PHP Crypt_RSA (http://pear.php.net/package/Crypt_RSA) for encrypting and decrypting the contents. Contents are of 1kb size. Following are the results: keylength = 1024 Encryption function takes time: 225 secs keylength = 2048 Encryption function takes time: 115 secs I need to reduce this execution time as most of the live apache servers have 120 sec limit for execution time. How to reduce this execution time? RSA alorithm docs says the only 1024 - 2048 keys are generated. I ACTUALLY tried to generate larger key, but it always results in execution timeout. How do i work on reducing encryption - decryption execution time? Thanks, Nila
