Cannot connect to a VPN server - authentication failed with error code 691

When trying to connect to a VPN server, I get the 691 error code on the client, which say: Error Description: 691: The remote connection was denied because the user name and password combination you provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the remote access server. Now, I validated that the username and password are correct, and tried to login with domain name and without. I also installed a certification to use with the IKEv2 security type. I also validated that the VPN server support security method. But I cannot login. In the server log I get this log: Network Policy Server denied access to a user. The user DomainName\UserName connected from IP address but failed an authentication attempt due to the following reason: The remote connection was denied because the user name and password combination you provided is not recognized, or the selected authentication protocol is not permitted on the remote access server. Any idea of what can I do? Thanks in advance!

Drupal + Lighttpd: enabling clean urls (rewriting)

I'm emulating Ubuntu on my mac, and I use it as a server. I've installed lighttpd + Drupal and the following configuration section requires a domain name in order to make clean urls to work. obtaining nimbuzz server certificate for nmdecrypt expert in NetMon

I'm using Network Monitor 3.4 with the nmdecrypt expert. I'm opening a nimbuzz conversation node in the conversation window and i click Expert- nmDecrpt - run Expert that shows up a window where i have to add the server certificate. I am not sure how to retrieve the server certificate for nimbuzz XMPP chat service. Any idea how to do this? this question is a follow up question of this one. Edit for some background so it might be that this is encrypted with the server pubkey and i cannot retrieve the message, unless i debug the native binary and try to intercept the encryption code. I have a test client (using agsXMPP) that is able to connect with nimbuzz with no problems. the only thing that is not working is adding invisible mode. It seems this is some packet sent from the official client during login which i want to obtain. any suggestions to try to grab this info would be greatly appreciated. Maybe i should get myself (and learn) IDA pro? OWA (Outlook Web Access) won't give user a link to attached document. Gives "Open as Web Page"

I have been testing OWA and have found that when there is an attached file on a message it shows the "Attachments:" then the file name (but no link) and then [Open as Web Page] link. The user has to click on that which opens a new window and previews the document, then the user gets "You are currently viewing:" followed by the file name. This time the file name is a link that they can open/download. This happens for Office documents and PDF file at least. How do I make it so users can get a direct link to the file on the original message window?

Multiple Domains on an Exchange Server

When I create a new user in exchange, it asks me to provide the User Logon Name. There is a dropdown box that supposedly allows you to select a domain for the user's login. What is this referring to? How can I make it so that I can create users with different domains in their user logon name? p.s. I am very aware of 'Accepted Domains' in Exchange allowing one user to have several email addresses in different domains. I am just curious how I can modify the user's Logon name specifically.

I was under the impression that only subdomains could have CNAME records: main domains need to define all their own records. However, apt-get.com seems to have only a CNAME record. Folder permissions, red x on user object

This question was asked before but was no answer. On shared folders on the file server, for the domain user name object under the security tab, the icon has a red x. There are no symptoms, the users have full access, there is just a red x on the icon for their name. Why is this? For clarification, logged into the windows 2008 r2 file server, browse to a users shared folder, right click on the folder, hit properties, click the security tab. The object representing the users domain name has a little red x on the lower right hand corner of the icon that looks like a single man. There are no symptoms beyond me wondering why the red x is there.

Grant account write access to specific attributes on Active Directory User object

I am trying to allow an account to update very specific attributes on all User objects. I am setting this security on the "User" object. When I add the account on the security tab, go to advanced, edit the accounts permissions, and start going through the list of attributes I am only able to find a few, like First Name, but most of the attributes I want to let them write to are missing. How can I grant the account write access to these attributes? I set my company exchange mailbox in Windows 8.1 mail. (outsite). Everything works fine, but after i start the Windows 8.1 mail i get event with id 529 in the security log continously. Why can't I access my website with domain? It works with IP address only

In the past we didn't have a proper domain name for our site, now I have registered a proper domain name, but now I experiance the following problem: If I go to https://46.144.46.214/ita I can access the portal without any problem; If I go to https://ita.telvent-netherlands.com/ita I receive a time-out in Internet Explorer. But if I go to https://ita.telvent-netherlands.com/ I see that I reach the IIS server so the DNS is working. Do you know how it is possible that I can reach it by IP and not by name? I need to reach it by domain. Thank you in advance.

Any reason/solution to this problem?

My server won't send emails

I've been sent here by the people at stackoverflow OK so I know I'm using the right code becuase I have it working on another server but when I try to send an email from a webpage on this particular server using php I get a success message back but the email never gets through. Does the upload file INPUT HTML element give any personal information away?

I'm wondering what personal information the file input (<input type="file">) element gives the website. I noticed that it does show the file name and the website does seem to have access to it. What about the file's path? If the file is located in My Documents, they could find out the user name via the path (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\My Documents) which many times is the actual user's name that is using the website. What information do most modern browsers allow the website to access when a user uses the file input element? Could JavaScript somehow be used to gain more information? What about when plugins (such as Flash or Java) implement file uploading?

Shorewall SHOW DYNAMIC command doesn't work

Setting up shorewall dynamic zones, http://shorewall.net/Dynamic.html shows the command shorewall show dynamic zone where zone is one of your zones. I can get the add and delete commands to work, but not the show dynamic command. Ubuntu 12.04 host lookups extremely slow

I'm having issues with one of my servers taking a long time to look up host names. This is an Ubuntu 12.04 box, so I've tried following the new resolvconf directives. In my /etc/network/interfaces file, I defined my name servers like this: auto eth0 iface eth0 inet static address someaddress netmask 255.255.255.0 gateway 198.58.103.1 dns-nameservers 74.14.179.5 72.14.188.5 In my /etc/resolv.conf, I see these name servers, like this: # Dynamic resolv.conf(5) file for glibc resolver(3) generated by resolvconf(8) # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE BY HAND -- YOUR CHANGES WILL BE OVERWRITTEN nameserver 74.14.179.5 nameserver 72.14.188.5 On another box, I edited the resolv.conf directly as directed by my hosts' setup help files. It looks like this: domain members.linode.com search members.linode.com nameserver 72.14.179.5 nameserver 72.14.188.5 options rotate This second box has no issues with host name look ups and responds quite quickly. Could not having the domain and search directives make my look ups slow? By slow, I mean it's taking anywhere from 5 to 15 seconds to find the IP address of a host.

The Coolest Server Names

These days server naming is a bit of a lost art. Most large organizations don't allow for fanciful names and name their servers with jumbles of digits and letters. In the olden days just about every system administrator came up with a unique naming scheme, well, sometimes unique - many just settled for Star Trek characters. To this day my favorite server name is Qantas - a Unix server that Joel Spolsky has or used to have. Why Qantas? You'd have to ask Rainman. So my question is this - what is the coolest server name or naming convention that you encountered? Let the geekfest begin. This question is marked "community wiki", so I am not getting any "rep" from it.

I took the fault module (hostv32.dll) and scanned it with avast but it found no threat. I also ran a SFC /scannow from an elevated command prompt and it didn't find any corrupted files. This problem is in all two user accounts in this computer (Windows 7). Any reason/solution to this problem? Thanks

Where can I find a link to download the SP2 of OES2?

Hi, I have a Netware Novell server with an eDirectory and different objects configured. I implemented an OEServer2 SP1 to emulate a DSfW to manage the eDirectory with AD. I join the domain with the Administrator login and I am logged as the Administrator domain. So far, there are no problems. When I open the MMC window on Windows Server 08 and snap in the "Active Directory Users and Computers" I can see all the OUs and objects presented in the Netware N. server. But, when I select some OUs I can have an error, and when I select other I don’t have this error. Error: “Data from XXXXX is not available from Domain Controller OES2.yyyy.local because: The server is unwilling to process the request. Try again later, or choose another DC by selecting Connect to Domain Controller on the Domain context menu.” With XXXX= OU’s name and yyyy.local= domain name and OES2 server name If somebody can upload this SP or post a link to download it... Thank you for your help!

Nginx enable site command

We all know how to enable a website using apache on linux. I'm pretty sure that we all agree on using the a2ensite command. Unfortunately there is no default equivalent command comes with Nginx, but it did happens that I installed some package on ubuntu that allowed me to enable/disable sites and list them. The problem is I don't remember the name of this package. Anybody knows what I'm talking about? Please tell me name of this package and the command name.
