• How to return a complex object from an axis web service

  Hi all, I am writing a simple web service to return an object with 2 properties. I am embedding the service into an existing web application.   I am looking for best practices conforming to the MVC design pattern. My Entities have the following relationship. tblPortal PortalId PrortalName tblPortalAlias AliasId PortalId HttpAlias Each Portal can have many PortalAlias. I want to Add a New Portal and then Add the associated PortalAlias. I am confused on how I should structure the Views and how I should present the Views to the user. I am looking for some sample code on how to accomplish this. My thoughts are first present the Portal View, let the user add the Portal. Then click the Edit link on the Portal List View and on the Portal Edit View let them Add the PortalAlias. If so, what should the Edit View look like?   Anyone have experience parsing complex response types using ws-xmlrpc? The service returns a HashMap with one of the values an Array, when I request the key of the array from the hashmap, java just returns "java.lang.Object". How do I access the contents of the array? • EF4 querying from parent to grandchildren

  I have a model withs Parents, Children and Grandchildren, in a many-to-many relationship. Using this article I created POCO classes that work fine, except for one thing I can't yet figure out. When I query the Parents or Children directly using LINQ, the SQL reflects the LINQ query (a .Count() executes a COUNT in the database and so on) - fine. The Parent class has a Children property, to access it's children. But (and now for the problem) this doesn't expose an IQueryable interface but an ICollection. So when I access the Children property on a particular parent all the Parent's Children are read. Even worse, when I access the Grandchildren (theParent.Children.SelectMany(child => child.GrandChildren).Count()) then for each and every child a separate request is issued to select all data of it's grandchildren. That's a lot of separate queries! Changing the type of the Children property from ICollection to IQueryable doesn't solve this. Apart from missing methods I need, like Add() and Remove(), EF just doesn't recognize the navigation property then. Are there correct ways (as in: low database interaction) of querying through children (and what are they)? Or is this just not possible?

  Hello experts! I have written a test where i specify my application context location with annotations. • Problem with openssl_get_privatekey returning false

  I am trying to generate a signed url for Amazon's CloudFront service but am running into problems in that the openssl_get_privatekey function appears to be returning false and I can't quite figure out why. Here is the code (PHP) that I am using: $priv_key = file_get_contents(path_to_my_pem_file); $priv_keyid = openssl_get_privatekey($privkey); Unfortunately, everytime I try this openssl_get_privatekey fails silently and I run into errors when I try to sign with openssl_sign later on. I've tried printing out the contents of $priv_key after it has been read in and it appears to be correct. I'm running this on RHEL 5.4 using PHP 5.2.13. I've confirmed that file pem file is readable and I've also run dos2unix on it just in case (didn't work before or after). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated as I am relatively new to both PHP and openssl.

• RDLC - Adding a Data Source in VS2010

  Greetings. I have an RDLC file and am wanting to add a data source to it, although without any luck so far. The data source is a custom class written by myself (just to add, we do this all the time). We recently converted over to the VS2010 RDLC format which caused some problems, but we've made some changes to our implementation that workaround the more major issues. So, back to the issue at hand, when I attempt to add my data source to the DummyDataSource list in the RDLC view in VS2010 it just does nothing, however it does add the data source to the list of data sources, but you can't select it from the drop-down list in the RDLC view which means I can't add the data source at all. Has anyone come across this problem? Is there anything I need to check? I've searched with fervour and had no luck.

  Hi There I am trying to use the tranlsation webservice from MyMemory: http://mymemory.translated.net/doc/spec.php Unfortunately, Zend_Soap_Client does generate an XML reqest object that is not recognized by the service. I guess it is because of the ns1-Attribute (Namespace) within the tags. So does anyone know how to remove them?   So I am using the Uplodify plugin to allow users to upload multiple images at once. The problem is I need to set a minimum width and height for images. Let's say 150x150px is the smallest image users can upload. How can I set this limitation in the Uploadify plugin?   I'm doing a Sphinx search but turning up some really weird results. Any help is appreciated. So for example if I type "50", I get: 50 Cent 50 Lions 50 Foot Wave, etc. This is great, but when I search "50 Ce", I get: Ryczace Dwudziestki Spisek Bernhard Gal Cowabunga Go-Go And other crazy results. Also when I search for "50 Cent", the correct result is at the top, but then random results below. Any ideas why? EDIT: My webservice is of document/literal encoding style, after doing some research I found I should be able to use SoepEnvelope Instead of SoapSerializationEnvelope Though when I replace this I get an error before the try cache block, causing my app to crash. Error: 11-04 16:23:26.786: E/AndroidRuntime(26447): Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: org.ksoap2.serialization.SoapObject cannot be cast to org.kxml2.kdom.Node Which is caused by these lines: request.addSoapObject(UserCredentials); soapEnv.setOutputSoapObject(request); This may be a solution though, how do I go about this? I found nothing about using a SoapEnvelope instead of a SoapSerializationEnvelope except for this awesome tutorial: http://ksoap.objectweb.org/project/mailingLists/ksoap/msg00849.html

  Assuming these objects... class MyClass { int ID {get;set;} string Name {get;set;} List<MyOtherClass> Things {get;set;} } class MyOtherClass { int ID {get;set;} string Value {get;set;} } How do I perform a LINQ to Entities Query, using a projection like below, that will give me a List? This works fine with an IEnumerable (assuming MyClass.Things is an IEnumerable, but I need to use List) MyClass myClass = (from MyClassTable mct in this.Context.MyClassTableSet select new MyClass { ID = mct.ID, Name = mct.Name, Things = (from MyOtherClass moc in mct.Stuff where moc.IsActive select new MyOtherClass { ID = moc.ID, Value = moc.Value }).AsEnumerable() }).FirstOrDefault(); Thanks in advance for the help!
