  • Facebook: "URL could not be liked because it has been blocked" error in iOS app

    I'm working on an iOS app that allows the user to like a Facebook page within the app. I've implemented this using FacebookLikeView. During the course of testing this functionality, I've liked and unliked the same page multiple times. Unfortunately, this seems to have triggered Facebook's spam detection. Now, when trying to like a page using the like button displayed by FacebookLikeView, the following error is presented: "URL could not be liked because it has been blocked". Based on reports of the same problem found by searching the web, I've filled out this form to request that Facebook remove the block. However, I've received no response from them. I'm not sure how to proceed. Has anyone else run into this issue and successfully solved it?

  • vim plugin to show current Perl subroutine

    I'm trying to make a vim plugin that will split the window on load and simulate a info bar at the top of my terminal. I've got it sorta working but I think I've either reached limits of my knowledge of vim syntax or there's a logic problem in my code. The desired effect would be to do a reverse search for any declaration of a Perl subroutine form my current location in the active buffer and display the line in the top buffer. I'm also trying to make it skip that buffer when I switch buffers with <C-R>. My attempt at that so far can be seen in the mess of nested if statements. Anyway, here's the code.   • Using Sandy 3D AS3, fill the viewport (exact fit) with multiple 3D objects.

    I'm stitching together an image using multiple instances of the sandy.primitive.Box. Each box is 96x91 while the viewport is 960x273 which should make for an exact fit if I layout the boxes in a perfect grid of 10x3. However, I can't seem to get the exact camera fieldOfView. I've tried a couple formulas (one for adjusting the "focal length" and one for adjusting the fov, directly). Both of these formulas produce a fov angle that is too narrow. // focal length (stage.stageHeight/2) / Math.tan(cam.fov / 2 * Math.PI / 180) // field of view 2 * Math.atan2( (stage.stageHeight/2), -cam.z ) * (180 / Math.PI) Another question about the same project: I need to adjust the perspective of each cube so that the image appears to be in 2D space (flat)... Any ideas on the best method for calculating such a "correction"?

    Hello everybody, Membership/Role/Profile providers API appeared in early days of asp.net Nearly everytime I can't live with standard API & have to add some extra functionality (for sorting, retrieving e.t.c.). I also have to use different database structure often (with foreign key to some tables for example) or think about performance improvements. These considerations forced teams I took part in to build own providers but I can't stand to implement providers API (because we don't use 70% of standard functionality at least). Moreover, providers that were built for exact projects were rarely reused. I wonder if someone found swiss-knife early-days-API providers implementation that is usefull for any kind of project without refactoring... Or do you use your own implementations of early-days-API's Or may be you abandon standard architecture and use lightweight implementations ? Thank you in advance

    I was too excited when object initializer appeared in C#. MyClass a = new MyClass(); a.Field1 = Value1; a.Field2 = Value2; can be rewritten shorter: MyClass a = new MyClass { Field1 = Value1, Field2 = Value2 } Object initializer code is more obvious but when properties number come to dozen and some of the assignment deals with nullable values it's hard to debug where the "null reference error" is. Studio shows the whole object initializer as error point. Nowadays I use object initializer for straightforward assignment only for error-free properties. How do you use object initializer for complex assignment or it's a bad practice to use dozen of assigments at all? Thank you in advance!

  • How should I launch a Portable Python Tkinter application on Windows without ugliness?

    I've written a simple GUI program in python using Tkinter. Let's call this program 'gui.py'. My users run 'gui.py' on Windows machines from a USB key using Portable Python; installing anything on the host machine is undesirable. I'd like my users to run 'gui.py' by double-clicking an icon at the root of the USB key. My users don't care what python is, and they don't want to use a command prompt if they don't have to. I don't want them to have to care what drive letter the USB key is assigned. I'd like this to work on XP, Vista, and 7. My first ugly solution was to create a shortcut in the root directory of the USB key, and set the "Target" property of the shortcut to something like "(root)\App\pythonw.exe (root)\App\gui.py", but I couldn't figure out how to do a relative path in a windows shortcut, and using an absolute path like "E:" seems fragile. My next solution was to create a .bat script in the root directory of the USB key, something like this: @echo off set basepath=%~dp0 "%basepath%App\pythonw.exe" "%basepath%\App\gui.py" This doesn't seem to care what drive letter the USB key is assigned, but it does leave a DOS window open while my program runs. Functional, but ugly. Next I tried a .bat script like this: @echo off set basepath=%~dp0 start "" "%basepath%App\pythonw.exe" "%basepath%\App\gui.py" (See here for an explanation of the funny quoting) Now, the DOS window briefly flashes on screen before my GUI opens. Less ugly! Still ugly. How do real men deal with this problem? What's the least ugly way to start a python Tkinter GUI on a Windows machine from a USB stick?

    I would like to assert that a table row contains the data that I expect in two different tables. How can I achieve this? Update: Sounds like the problem is a bug in Selenium when trying to select descendants.   • File paths with XSLT includes

    Hi again everyone. I'm working on a website with a large number of pages, and each one has this in it: <xsl:include href="team-menu.xsl" /> This xsl file is stored in the root directory. Essentially including my "team menu" on each page. My problem is when I include this on nested pages, e.g. "/teammembers/smith.xsl", the links in the menu are broken because they refer to pages that aren't in the same directory as the page i'm viewing. This is probably really easy, but I just don't know how to fix it. Is there a way to tell the XSL the root directory and/or set some sort of global directory? Thanks for your help!

  • Using unmanaged code, how can I find a type that has a given custom attribute assigned to it?

    I had thought I could enumerate the types using IMetaDataImport.EnumTypeDefs and for each of the tokens returned, call IMetaDataImport.EnumCustomAttributes. This works, in so much as I get an array of mdCustomAttribute tokens. Using these tokens I can get a metadata token representing the Type of the returned custom attribute, by calling IMetaDataImport.GetCustomAttributeProps. Comparing my results against ILDASM, I can see that this matches the "CustomAttribute Type" that ILDASM reports. However, I cannot work out how to determine the "CustomAttributeName" that ILDASM reports. This is what I really want! While I would be interested in knowing how to get the CustomAttributeName, I would settle for an alternate approach to solving the problem.

  • System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Debug() stopped working

    I'm working on a program which uses the System.Diagnostics.Debugger.Break() method to allow the user to set a breakpoint from the command-line. This has worked fine for many weeks now. However, when I was working on fixing a unit test today, I tried to use the debug switch from the command-line, and it didn't work. Here's what I've tried: I've confirmed that the Debug() method is really being called (by putting a System.Console.WriteLine() after it) I've confirmed that the build is still in Debug I've done a clean build I've restarted Product Studio A quick Google search didn't reveal anything, and the API documentation for .Net doesn't mention anything about this function not performing correctly. So... any ideas?

  • GDI+ Rotated sub-image

    I have a rather large (30MB) image that I would like to take a small "slice" out of. The slice needs to represent a rotated portion of the original image. The following works but the corners are empty and it appears that I am taking a rectangular area of the original image, then rotating that and drawing it on an unrotated surface resulting in the missing corners. What I want is a rotated selection on the original image that is then drawn on an unrotated surface. I know I can first rotate the original image to accomplish this but this seems inefficient given its size. Any suggestions?   • Tips for a successful AppStore submission?

    In a day or two I'll be ready to submit my iPhone app to the AppStore and I'm curious whether people who have gone through this process have any tips / suggestions for a smooth submission process. Here's things I've covered; No memory leaks Tested performance on an actual device Doesn't crash :) Using correct certificates / profile What I'm a little unsure about are how to configure the "Bundle Display Name" /"Bundle Identifier" and "Bundle Name" in info.plist. I understand the first is the text that's shown on the iPhone itself, but what about the last? Does this have to match Bundle Identifier? Are there any other things I should add to the info.plist? I've noticed that when built for Adhoc distribution my app does not have any author/title information in iTunes.

    I am using the ChemDoodle Web Components to display molecules on a web page. This is all fine and good. Now, I would like to include a form on the page that will allow a user to paste in a PDB molecule definition. Upon submitting the form, I want to update the "molecule" variable with the form data so that the ChemDoodle Web Components script will work its magic and display molecule defined by the PDB definition pasted into the form.     Hi, Is there a simple way to export a WPF DataGrid to a text file and a .csv file? I've done some searching and can't see that there is a simple DataGrid method to do so. I have got something working (barely) by making use of the ItemsSource of the DataGrid. In my case, this is an array of structs. I do something with StreamWriters and StringBuilders (details available) and basically have: StringBuilder destination = new StringBuilder(); destination.Append(row.CreationDate); destination.Append(seperator); // seperator is '\t' or ',' for csv file destination.Append(row.ProcId); destination.Append(seperator); destination.Append(row.PartNumber); destination.Append(seperator); I do this for each struct in the array (in a loop). This works fine. The problem is that it's not easy to read the text file. The data can be of different lengths within the same column. I'd like to see something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 And of course, I get something like: 2007-03-03 234238423823 823829923 2007-03-03 66 99 It's not surprising giving that I'm using Tab delimiters, but I hope to do better. It certainly is easy to read in the DataGrid! I could of course have some logic to pad short values with spaces, but that seems quite messy. I thought there might be a better way. I also have a feeling that this is a common problem and one that has probably been solved before (hopefully within the .NET classes themselves). Thanks.

  • Alternatives to ASCX User Control without a server-side form?

    I've got an ASP.NET 3.5 Web Forms application in which a large chunk of code needs to be duplicated between a few different pages. Sounds like the ideal candidate for a user-control right? Problem is, this cannot be contained within a <form runat="server"> because it contains a client-side form of it's own. There are no runat=server controls or postbacks or anything that really need that webform - think of it just as a chunk of HTML with a few basic <% %> tags. I'd just want to set a property on the control when it's loaded, so that it knows what to output. This is purely an exercise to make the code easier to maintain. Before I resort to using an oldskool <!--#include-->, is there some better way of doing this?

  • git global config issue

    Somehow, my global git (msysgit) settings for user.name and user.email (and god knows what else) are set to a recent ex-colleague's details. When I try and change them i get could not commit to u://.gitconfig If I try and create u://.gitconfig through git bash then i get permission denied. C:\Users\<My Username>\ contains no references to git. I've tried uninstalling, searching the registry and my file system for all references to git and I can't find any (windows file search is crap though). What the hell is going on? Why even after reinstalling are this guys details still the global settings??? Thanks

The bulletin board will be used to allow inter-office communication within the organisation. I am building the application and have been having trouble extracting the results that I need from my database because I don't think it is properly normalized and because of limitations in my knowledge of relational database theory and mysql. I would appreciate input into the design of the board in general and in particular, ways that the database structure can be improved to facilitate efficient queries and help me develop this application and future application faster Business Logic The bulletin board will be used in the following way Posting bulletins and responses to bulletins Employees or 'users' in offices around the country will be able to post messages to the bulletin board.Bulletins must be posted to a location and categorised- i'll call these "bulletins". Users will be able to post any number of replies to any one bulletin and users will be able to reply to their own bulletin - i'll call these 'replies'. Rating bulletins and replies Users will be able to either 'like' or 'dislike' a bulletin or a reply and the total number of likes or dislikes will be shown for each bulletin or reply. Viewing the bulletin board and responses Bulletins can be displayed chronologically. Users can sort bulletins chronologically or chronologically by the latest reply to that bulletin(let me know if you need more explanation) When a particular bulletin is selected, replies to that bulletin will be displayed chronologically @PerformanceDBA - edited 10:34 est 28/12/10I have begun implementing the data model.   • Checking if radio buttons are checked in Firefox

    On my site, I have two checkboxes created in my ASP.NET MVC view like so: Html.RadioButton("check", "true", "true" == (string) ViewData["someKey"], new { id = "check1"}); Html.RadioButton("check", "false", "false" == (string) ViewData["someKey"], new { id = "check2"}); I am positive that ViewData["someKey"] has the value "true" in it. In my JS init function, I perform the following check: alert($('#check1').is(':checked') + " " + $('#check2').is(':checked')); In Firefox (and only Firefox), my alert dialog will show the following (it works as expected in every other browser): Initial page load: true false Normal refresh via Ctrl + R: false false Refresh skipping cache via Ctrl + Shift + R: true false I have tried many different methods of looking at the checkbox value, including $('#check1').attr('checked') without success. If I examine the HTML in Firebug, I can see that the first radio button has the property checked="checked" in it. Why is the checkbox value changing in FF when I refresh, and how can I mitigate this? Since this seems to be a FF-only bug, how can I change my code to make it work? This SO question seemed to ask something similar, but none of the proposed solutions seem to work in this case. Edit: I should also point out that when the radio button is rendered after the refresh in FF, it's not actually being displayed as checked either, despite what the HTML is telling me. Edit2: Adding raw HTML as per request <input id="check1" type="radio" value="True" name="check" checked="checked"/> <input id="check2" type="radio" value="False" name="check"/>
