    It's my first time to use Persistence in developing a Java program because I usually connect via JDBC. I read that for large amounts of data, it is best to use persistence. I tried playing with the CRUD example of Netbeans. It's not very helpful thought because it only connects to the DB and allows addition and deletion of records. I need something that will allow me to manipulate the data like if the value from column C1 of table T1 is such, it will retrieve data from table t2. In short, I need to apply conditions before knowing what to retrieve exactly. The example in CRUD example already has a specific table to retrieve and only acts like a database manager. How is it possible to retrieve a specific item first then from this, will determine the next steps to be done. I'm also using embedded JavaDB/Derby as my database (also my first time to use because I usually use remote mysql)

  • background-color:#070707; different in photoshop than in browser

    I'm coding a website with: background-color:#070707; That color should be a very dark gray, just the way I see it in photoshop. Now when I launch this in my browser (the background-color is set on the body using CSS, so it's not an exported image), the color is darker than in Photoshop. I know there can be differences when exporting images due to color profiling, but when setting the color code, how can this be different from photoshop? Thanks a lot for helping

  • C# Desktop Application "Encounters an error and has to exit" on first run of the day

    Hello, It seems I tend to attract strange issues. This time, I have written a C# application, and handled most of the exceptions I can find. The problem is, when I run the installed/bundled version on any PC for the first time in a day (after the PC has been shut down and started after a while) it comes across some error and has to shutdown the application (even though the try-catch block surrounding the Main() does not fire). The application does not throw the same error on subsequent runs. I added an #if(!DEBUG) ... #else ... #endif surrounding the Main() code. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

  • How to make selection color be "on top" when background color for any text element is set in Visual

    Faced problem while setting background color for any element in Visual Studio 2010 editor. Selection color doesn't override this background color. So then it's very inconvenient to work with selections in editor. Case when only string literal is selected it's almost impossible to distinguish colors and see what part of string is selected. Is there any possibility to fix the problem by changing some options? Or it's a Visual Studio bug?

    I would like to install a quad core computer in my dorm at college and use my much slower laptop to be able to control the quad core just as if I had a quad core laptop (control as in i see the gui, not command line control)! Both are on the same college network, though Im also interested in what would be necessary if the computers were on different networks. What would be the best method fot this?     hi guys, i was wondering how could i deploy/make it into an installer for an app which is created using vs 2008 express. i know that the setup and deployment feature is only available via the full version of visual studio right? So are there any add ons or perhaps additional free/or non-free if it has to come to that which i can use to do this? or is the best tool for the job is the old visual studio installer from the vs 6.0 days? :) thanks Updates: After some googling, i found this link on using click once to deploy vs 2008 express with tutorials in them, i'll check it out, but of course more & better recommendation is always welcomed :)

    I have 20 PCs (Windows XP) in remote locations connecting to the same server (Windows Server 2003) using Remote Desktop over a VPN. On just one of the PCs the remote desktop screen flashes (redraws) multiple times after connecting, the others don't. The screen resolution is the same: local is 800x600 32bit; RDP file is set to full screen, 256 color; remote when connected is 800x600 8bit color. Any suggestions what the problem might be, or what to investigate next?

    The following question has been asked millions of times (be patient towards it please :-)).. Why O why - can't I find ONE SIMPLE, CONCLUSIVE answer? - Would be highly appreciated! Is running a program (What_ever_job.EXE file) in ssh as : "./What_ever_job &" enough to keep it running if my own computer is shut down and ssh is closed? If not - what is the PRECISE (Please!...) way to run it? No "Screen" please, I have seen something called "nohup" (?) - how do I write the commend? Thanking you a lot on advance, Erez.

  • How can I create "My Computer" toolbar at the top of the Desktop in Windows 7?

    In previous versions of Windows, I have been able to "drag and drop" the My Computer icon to the top or sides of the desktop and convert it into a toolbar. The toolbar could be set "always on top" or "autohide". I found this a very convenient way to have instant access to all my drives with NO clicks. Windows 7 does not appear to have this functionality. Is there any way to recreate a My Computer toolbar at the top of the Desktop in Windows 7?
