  Can someone help/guide me with using SQLite lib on Linux (MONO) and Windows (.NET) On linux i use native mono sqlite client, and on windows i use http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com/ is there a way to define 'using' directives like this : #if (linux) using Mono.Data.Sqlite; #else using System.Data.SQLite; Another problem is small differencies on both implementations, like : cmd = new SqliteCommand(); // mono cmd = new SQLiteCommand(); // sqlite.phxsoftware.com Waiting for any help If you know better or simplier way to do this it'll very thankfull for info.   So I've a button on my frmMain that opens up another frmEdit which has a datagridview that displays the following query: BindingSource bs = new BindingSource(); string sqlqry = "select p_Name from Items where p_Id=" + p_Id; SqlCeCommand cmd = new SqlCeCommand(sqlqry1, conn); SqlCeDataReader rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); bs.DataSource = rdr; dataGridView1.DataSource = bs; this.ShowDialog(parent); Now when frmEdit loads up the dgv displays the query just fine, but I can't Edit. I tried dgv.BeginEdit(true), but it doesn't work. The EditMode works fine if I used wizard to bind datasources to the dgv, but I need to execute my own customized queries and be able to update them directly.

I never get the handling command in my log, so it must die when it does the tracks-by-album. so it does appear to be the tracks-by-album function from the stack trace. I just don't see why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. I say that it's tracks-by-album because it's the only function (including it's children) that does filter, as can be seen in the trace.   I'm a bit puzzled about the conditional operator. Consider the following two lines: Float f1 = false? 1.0f: null; Float f2 = false? 1.0f: false? 1.0f: null; Why does f1 become null and the second statement throws a NullPointerException? Langspec-3.0 para 15.25 sais: Otherwise, the second and third operands are of types S1 and S2 respectively. Let T1 be the type that results from applying boxing conversion to S1, and let T2 be the type that results from applying boxing conversion to S2. The type of the conditional expression is the result of applying capture conversion (§5.1.10) to lub(T1, T2) (§15.12.2.7). So for false?1.0f:null T1 is Float and T2 is the null type. But what is the result of lub(T1,T2)? This para 15.12.2.7 is just a bit too much ... BTW, I'm using 1.6.0_18 on Windows. PS: I know that Float f2 = false? (Float) 1.0f: false? (Float) 1.0f: null; doesn't throw NPE.

  When using SqlCommand to call a stored proc via RPC, it looks like it is possible to call a stored proc in a database other than the current database. e.g. : string storedProcName = "SomeOtherDatabase.dbo.SomeStoredProc"; SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(storedProcName); cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; I'd like to make my DAL code more restrictive, by disallowing potential calls to another database. One way might be to check if there are two periods (dots) in storedProcName above, and if so, throw an exception. Any other ideas/approaches ? Thanks.

• Paypal IPN Handler for Cart

  Hey everyone! I'm using a Paypal add to cart button for a simple ecommerce website. I had a Paypal IPN handler written in PHP that was successfully working for 'Buy it Now' buttons and purchasing one item at a time. I would run a database query each time to update the store's inventory to reflect the purchase. Now I'm upgrading this store to a 'cart' version so people could check out with multiple items at a time. Would anyone be able to tell me, in general, how my IPN handler would need to be altered to accommodate this? I'm unsure of what a response from Paypal looks like for a cart purchase as opposed to a buy it now purchase. Thanks, any help or examples of working IPN cart scripts would be very appreciated!   Hi, I meet some problem with the score caculation with a PrefixQuery. To change score of each document, when add document into index, I have used setBoost to change the boost of the document. Then I create PrefixQuery to search, but the result have not been changed according to the boost. It seems setBoost totally doesn't work for a PrefixQuery. • How can I stop rails validating xml?

  I'm submitting to a rails webservice the following message: xmlPostData = "<message> <message-text>" + MESSAGE_WITH_XML + "</message-text> <name>" + subject + "</name> <f1>" + toPhone + "</f1> <f2>" + fromPhone + "</f2> </message>"; The problem is the the field with contain a text with XML data, is a workaround but I need to be able to submit that xml to the db and get it from there.   Does anyone know how DbDataReaders actually work. We can use SqlDataReader as an example. When you do the following cmd.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM Customers"; var rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); while(rdr.Read()) { //Do something } Does the data reader have all of the rows in memory, or does it just grab one, and then when Read is called, does it go to the db and grab the next one? It seems just bringing one into memory would be bad performance, but bringing all of them would make it take a while on the call to ExecuteReader. I know I'm the consumer of the object and it doesn't really matter how they implement it, but I'm just curious, and I think that I would probably spend a couple hours in Reflector to get an idea of what it's doing, so thought I'd ask someone that might know. I'm just curious if anyone has an idea.

  i hope i'm just doing something wrong here. Ideally i'm trying to open the connection, open a transaction execute a ton of prebuilt sqlstatements (with parameters) against this connection then close the connection. ideally all in the same batch. It's easy enough to wrap this all in a for loop, however i'd like to use the forEach function of the list generic to set the connection as it'll probably be faster than my implementation of calling List.Item(i) in the loop but i get some strange errors. • Python's subprocess.Popen object hangs gathering child output when child process does not exit

  When a process exits abnormally or not at all, I still want to be able to gather what output it may have generated up until that point. • Why my VPN doesn't work anymore?

  I have openvpn server running on debian lenny. There is only one client - and it is running Windows 7 64-bit. This has worked for few months without any problems. And now, let's say for the last 7 days, it doesn't work at all. I connect successfully from client to the server, but I can't access anything through VPN. I have set it up so that all internet traffic is routed through VPN, and now when I connect with the client, the client can't do anything on the net (open any webpage, ping google, anything ...). Can you help me to figure out what's wrong ? I don't know where to start. I've also tried to connect to another openvpn server (I've installed and configured openvpn on another server, and when I try to connect to it result is the same). So I think there's something wrong with client ...   I'm trying to get Python socket working as an alternative to calling the command line socat. • How to use a specific Windows SDK with MSBuild?

  I have a large project made of many C++ and C# projects, and a MSBuild (3.5) script to build the whole thing. This script is based on the VCBuild (C++ projects) and MSBuild (C# projects) tasks. It is regularly executed by a Continuous Integration server. I want to be able to select a specific Windows SDK (v6.0A, v7.0, v7.1...) to be used for compilation. As I have many branches in my repository that would ultimately need a different SDK version, I need a way to select the right one before each compilation. On my computer, I have been able to setup a batch script that calls the right SetEnv.cmd before launching the MSBuild script. But this solution is not usable on the CI server as the MSBuild script is executed directly. Do you know of a way to achieve the equivalent of SetEnv.cmd under MSBuild?

In the process, a release manager will have to check out source, hit the build.cmd button and then carry a zip file over to a server. I am wondering if it is worthwhile to make a GUI for it? So that the release manager does not need to check out source manually for example? How do I start? I have quite limited knowledge of javax, but I very much like to learn. Thanks, Sarah

I have a service that returns a streamed response through the following method. public virtual Message GetData() { string sqlString = BuildSqlString(); SqlConnection conn = Utils.GetConnection(); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(sqlString, conn); XmlReader xr = cmd.ExecuteXmlReader(); Message msg = Message.CreateMessage( OperationContext.Current.IncomingMessageVersion, GetResponseAction(), xr); return msg; } I cannot close the connection within the method or the streaming of the response message will be terminated. Since control returns to the WCF system after the completion of that method, I don't know how I can close that connection afterwards. Any suggestions or pointers to additional documentation would be appreciated. Dan
