• Facebook links to my site resolve as 403 forbidden

  Hi I'm experiencing a super weird problem. Whenever I post links to my website on Facebook, they come up as Forbidden. The site itself works great and I have no seen this when linking on other sites. Could this be a server misconfiguration? Any thoughts on where to look? here's some Info: I have a dedicated server running WHM 11.25.0 i have 2 sites hosted here using cPanel 11.25.0 the error msg: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.   Hi, is there any possibility how to fetch any specific type of posts from facebook news feed via graph api?For example on my news feed I have statutuses, links, photos, vidoes, and so on..I only want to get the ones with type=status over graph api..I have seen some get parameters in documentation, but nothing like ?type=link..So I have tried /me/home?type=link, but unsurprisingly it have not worked:D So does anyone know how to do that?I can filter it in my PHP app, but then I need to get some further data..When I got 20 posts and only 10 would be statuses, I need to add the 10 remaiming? It is too possible, but I dont know how to do that:D Please help..!Thanks

  you guys ever saw that FB scrapes the link you post on facebook (status, message etc.) live right after you paste it in the link field and displays various metadata, a thumb of the image, various images from the a page link or a video thumb from a video related link (like youtube). any ideas how one would copy this function? i'm thinking about a couple gearman workers or even better just javascript that does a xhr requests and parses the content based on regex's or something similar... any ideas? any links? did someone already tried to do the same and wrapped it in a nice class? anything? :) thanks!

• Thumbnail wont show up in Facebook link share

  I have been messing with Open Graph for hours and can't figure out why Facebook still wont let me show an image when I share a link to a new site I just launched. Even sites I built 5 years ago that have no clue of Open Graph show images so I have no idea why this new site wont allow it. I just need to launch this site and every time I post the url in my status update only text appears. I re sized the image to be 200px x 135px but that still doesn't work.. It can find the image but it wont show up. Please help me figure this thing out. I have a number of people sharing this page right now and no image shows up.. So embarrassing. Thank you in advance!   Hey guys I find it hard to believe that Facebook uses simple sql, surely it would use some other method but lets assume for now it does use sql how would the code assimilating the 'wall' work? Lets say that there is three tables (just for the example) Friends: id (entry key) - uid(your id) - fid (your mates' id) Wall:id (entry key) - username - comment - time - commentcount comments: id (entry key) - wid (wall id (original comment)) - reply - time Lets forget about the like part and report etc, as well as mod things (ip, ban etc.) How would this work? Select wall.id, wall.username, wall.comment, wall.time, wall.commentcount, comments.wid, comments.reply, comments.time FROM wall inner join comments ON wall.id=comments.wid ORDER BY wall.time; That's your own wall but how do they get friend's? A heap of unions?

Do you think the main menu layout of the app (where all the navigation buttons are there) are on the client or being rendered dynamically? Similarly apps like NYTimes or US News, what portion is done on the client and what is rendered dynamically. What could be the best way to render things on-demand.   Hi, I have a "basic" license agreement screen for now, a Screen with a title set and vertical field containing a textfield, separatorfield and then 2 buttons (accept or decline). The license is pretty long, it's annoying going all the way down (except with the storm it's pretty easy) and I want a kind of popup screen showing the license and the 2 buttons at the bottom. To give you an example, the exact SAME as the Facebook or App World application's license screen agreement! When you scroll the text, it's going a lot faster and it's visualy great. Thank you!

  Hi, I'm trying to build some kind of a social game in facebook, where I need that every user that has approved my APP is able to receive notifications from me. When the user approves my App, I save his UID in the DB for future reference. At some later time, I want to make it possible for other users find partners for a game - so I need a way to pick randomly some user from my DB and check if he's online. Then, send him a message and propose to play with the current player. So 2 questions: How can I check if some user is online, using Javascript SDK? It seems that in the new Graph API I can't get the users' online status. How can I then send him a message and propose to play the game?   This is my first experience with stackoverflow and I'm afraid my question asks of a lot for a first. I was looking at this thread: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2634159/javascrypt-in-the-adress-bar-is-this-malicious and as you will see SLaks has very kindly deobfuscated the javascript and left us with what appears as the Javascript behind the automatic facebook invite code. As I'm fairly new to javascript, I was wondering, what other components were needed to get this code to work? You of course have the functions there and they are called by the obfuscated javascript but how exactly? Would it be possible to replicate this on a page of my own using the information available or is there more to this script I am missing? I am willing to financially assist somebody who could compile a solution for me. Thank you in advance.

Let´s say that i want to look for "obama", this will return all of the obama mentions for a bunch of people in their streams, so far I haven't found anything like this, probably only looking in one user stream, but not the whole stuff. So, i haven't found a way to do this, but how come, sites like socialmention.com can do it? Do they query user by user streams? and how to do it without users permissions? What do you guys think? • PHP code cannot see query string param on return in Facebook oAuth flow

  I am doing some integration with Facebook Open Graph using their oAuth flow and having issues with parsing query string parameters they return. On my callback URL, they pass back an "access_token" parameter with a hash (#). so the callback would be: http://mydomain.com/callback.php#access_token=foobar123 where foobar123 is my access token I'm trying to parse out. However, no matter what I do, my PHP code cannot see if and I've done every debug trick I know (even using phpinfo() to go through everything). The URL is stated only as http://mydomain.com/callback.php. It's as if the rest of the URL isn't really there! This code returns nothing: $token = $_REQUEST['access_token']; Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm obviously missing something simple.

Have set redirect Url : www.mysite.com/myfolder/ in my FB application.   On my website when the user selects the facebook like button they have the option to enter comments. This popup window to enter comments only contains the users avatar and place to enter comments. How can i include my pic and a brief description of the site directly below the comment??? At first I thought it was from the HTML title attribute or meta property="og:title" ... but populating these have no affect I have another site that contains both pic and a desc below the comment but the pic seems to be grabed at random -but always the same- from the site and the short desc I thought from the -title- attribute but its not - I changed the -title- and it still shows the same desc, its like its cached??? Any ideas how to control or populate a brief description and image within the comment section of a like button???

  Hi, Does anyone know of a very basic tag JQuery script? (Facebook like tag feature) All I want to do is when I type @ in a text box for it to search an AJAX search, it then brings back a display name i.e. "Bob Johnson" and an associated Id and stores the Id in a comma delimited list. So an example would be the following .... [TextArea] [Name 1] [Name 2] [Name 3] The thing is it also needs to remove this entry (Id) once the tag gets removed, also it needs to load into a DIV which has a scrollbar so that the list doesn't get to big. If anyone know's how/if this is possible that would be great. Thanks.
