  • Yahoo media player not working with Ruby on rails

    I have a yahoo media player embedded in my webpage. I am currently using Ruby on Rails to create/edit my web page. When i click the play button next to a track the YMP waits a while and then goes to the next track without playing the first one. I then get a warning on my second (last) track that its file could not be found. Does anyone has a better recommendation for an audio player or a way to fix this one?

I am trying to find a good music player for ubuntu in which I would be able to search the media library like in winamp ( typing te band's or song's name in a search field ). I have tried this with Banshee but it lags a lot when I change the 'selected' album in library I cannot find the search field/option in there Any suggestions/solutions ?

I have installed the Coherence plugin for Rhythmbox. I can see my Windows 7 PC under the Shared folder in Rhythmbox, but I do not see any of my music. Is there a step along the way that I missed or something else that I have to enable?

  • SQL Server Express backup/restore error: The Media Family on Device is Incorrectly Formed.

    Basically, I'm having this issue: http://www.sqlcoffee.com/Troubleshooting047.htm What I'm doing is running a script I found online (http://pastebin.com/3n0ZfybL) to do a full backup, then rar'ing up the file and moving it to my computer. The CRC of the backup file inside the rar is correct on both computers, so there is no problem with data being corrupted when I transfer it. But then I go and try to restore the database on my dev computer here and I get the errors "sql server cannot process this media family" ... "msg 3013". Why is this happening? I'd test out the backup on the server I'm getting it from, but it's a production server.     Currently I am using standard Dvorak on Ubuntu 13.10 and Gnome 3.10. Unfortunately, writing Umlauts (ä,ö,ü) in German requires me to switch to QWERTY/QWERTZ frequently or forces me to not write those umlauts (which looks strange to German native speakers). Is there a way to use Dvorak Type 2, including the umlauts, but otherwise using the standard English layout on Ubuntu with Gnome? I'm a fast typer on standard English Dvorak and would like to avoid fully switching to German Dvorak as this would (at least temporarily) reduce my typing speed.

    On my Windows 2008 system, I've attached an external USB drive that's encrypted using Truecrypt. Once I mounted the Truecrypt drive, I share some of the directories from that drive using Windows file sharing. I tried sharing a folder called "media" and when I try to access that folder from a Vista client on my LAN via \myserver\media, I get this error: \myserver\media is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. An unexpected network error occurred. If I share the folder media under some name such as fizzbuzz then I can access \myserver\fizzbuzz w/o any errors. Any clues as to why this is happening?     I need to create a script to change the guest session defaults because the computers I installed Ubuntu on have only 448mb RAM, which is not enough to have two sessions running simultaneously. I want to write a script that will... create the guest-session folder in /etc; create the skel folder in /etc/guest-session/; copy all the content (including subfolders and files) in /tmp/guest-xxxx/; paste all that content into /etc/guest-session/skel/; and change the default desktop to GNOME Classic instead of Unity 2D (this can be separate from the script if it's easier to do as a general setting), ...all within the guest-session. This is for a project installing Ubuntu in cyber-cafes so it's critical to the project. I appreciate any help you can offer.

I have beeen checking the windows services, it shows flash media server is running.i have installed FMS in Default port (1935,1111).i have MCAFEE Antivirus.1st time it blocks the My FMs then i Allowed it & after that there is no issue.i am not getting what is the problem,is anything blocking the FMS.Even I am not able to start/see the control panel of FMS (Flash media server). I am guessing it is a port problem,Is it or any firewall issue?Please Suggest.

  • Intermittent access to Win7 Share

    I ave a share on a Windows 7 machine that is sometimes accessible from Ubuntu and sometimes isn't. When I try to access it currently, I get the message: "Failed to mount Windows share", and nothing more. Gnome doesn't appear to want to provide me with any more detailed information. I've verified that the workgroup is set correctly and as noted in the title, sometimes the share DOES work. It seems like I can only access it once and then subsequent mounts are blocked. What is going on?! Thanks!

  • How to open a file or folder from Terminal

    I'd like to know if there is a way to open a file or a folder from terminal? When I wrote a URL LINK in terminal, it's allows me to open that link on my default browser. So I'd like to do the same with my files and folders. I know that there is a way via cli using gnome-open or xdg-open, but I'd like a solution that use mouse by clicking on the path or the url. Eg. When I write "pwd" the path allows me to click and open on Nautilus It's the inverse of what "nautilus-open-terminal" does.

  • Fullscreen Still Has Taskbars at Top and Bottom

    I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 and running the Gnome Classic desktop. Whenever I go fullscreen, the taskbars at the top and bottom which hold the menus, notifications, etc. are still visible. This only happens when I'm in a browser or trying to play a game. I've tried it in both Firefox and Chromium, and get the same result no matter which one I use. Videos I watch using VLC however do not have the bars at the top and bottom. I found only one post about this in the questions, but there were no answers that worked for me. I wasn't sure if commenting my problem into the 5 month old post would move it to the top where it could be seen, so I made this one.

  • Disabling Password and Key Login

    I want to disable the login prompt to access the Passwords and Keys. Right clicking the prompt does not bring up a change password dialogue. Under Applications System Tools Preferences there is "Passwords and Keys" but right clicking that does not allow me to change the password either. There is no Password and Keys selection under Accessories. I used to be able to change the password to a blank character, which allowed it to automatically login, but there doesn't seem to be an option for that now. Using Gnome 3 in 12.10 Thank you
