  • SharePoint 2010 GAC deployment doesn't update

    The following issue just crept up on me. The steps mentioned below had worked just fine until about 2 days ago. When I deploy a update to a solution (of web parts) to a SharePoint 2010 server I don't see the update. The solution does get installed, but from what I can tell the installed web parts are over a month old (nothing new is installed). I do the following steps through PowerShell: retract the solution from the web app remove the solution add the solution install the solution to the web app I have tried restarting the Web App, restarting IIS and also restarting the server. Nothing seems to work. I notice that after I remove the solution it does get removed from the GAC. After I add/install it the solution does reappears in the GAC. Am I missing something? Am I overlooking a step that I should be doing? Something to try?

    In jQuery, filter() reduces your result to those elements that fulfill a certain condition. This splits the list in two parts. Working with the "good half" of the elements is easy: $("some selector").filter(function() { // determine result... return result; }).each( /* do something */ ); But how can I work with the "other half" of my elements, too - but without doing the equivalent of this: $("some selector").filter(function() { // determine result... return !result; }).each( /* do something else */ ); Basically, I'd like to feed two separate /* do something */ parts to a single filter. One for those that match, and one for the others - without having to filter twice. Am I missing a jQuery function that does this? P.S.: I guess I could do: $("some selector").each(function() { // determine result... if (result) /* do something */ else /* do something else */ }); But I was hoping for something nicer.

  • Wrap a list to add an empty row for UI binding.

    I am binding a List to a UI Control. My list does not contain a blank row, but I need to add one to allow the user to select blank. However, I'm using the same list in other parts of the application (users can edit/add/delete items) where it doesn't make sense to show a blank row. My idea is to create a wrapper around the list which adds a blank row just for the UI. The wrapper would hold a reference so that updates to the list (from other parts of the app) would be reflected in UI without any extra work. I have tried a few different ways, but nothing has worked out for me yet. Can anyone solve this problem?

  • Python design mistakes

    A while ago, when I was learning Javascript, I studied Javascript: the good parts, and I particularly enjoyed the chapters on the bad and the ugly parts. Of course, I did not agree with everything, as summing up the design defects of a programming language is to a certain extent subjective - although, for instance, I guess everyone would agree that the keyword with was a mistake in Javascript. Nevertheless, I find it useful to read such reviews: even if one does not agree, there is a lot to learn. Is there a blog entry or some book describing design mistakes for Python? For instance I guess some people would count the lack of tail call optimization a mistake; there may be other issues (or non-issues) which are worth learning about.

    I've heard different stories about ASP.NET and JavaScript: that it works fine with Javascript turned off, that only some parts don't work, and that nothing works at all. How exactly are ASP.NET applications affected if JavaScript is turned off in a client's browser? What parts don't work (if any)? For example, will RequiredFieldValidators still work? What about UploadControls? AJAX UpdatePanels and AsyncPostBack's? FileUploads? Do page codebehinds still run? Forgive my ignorance, I can't seem to find much about the issue that is in-depth.

Please dont misunderstand here, i understand how to make a flexible central div, the complexity is in the overlapping of the top and bottom while the mid div remains flexible. I imagine it requires either negative margins or absolutely position top and bottoms elements with z-index..

    I have ExtJS based application. I have compound object on the server side, and have ExtJS window with few tabs for editing different parts of this one object. For example: I Have Compound object "Car" public class Car { public string Name; public string Color; public List Wheels; public List Doors; } And on my ExtJS window i have tabs ("General Info", "Wheels", "Doors") for editing different parts of this object. So what i want: When i want to create a new car i want to generate JSON configuration for my class "Car" like {Name:null; Color:null; Wheels:[]; Doors:[]} then sent it to the client, fill it on the client (without callbacks to server) and after user finishes creating his Car object (he added wheels, doors, set name and color) and press save, I want to sent this filled(generated) JSON object to server and save it to DB.     Some time ago I wrote server software which is currently running at it's max. (3k users average). So I decided to rewrite certain parts so I can run the software at another server to balance it's load. I can't simply start another instance of the server since there is some data which has to be available to all users. So I was thinking of creating a small manager and all the servers connect and send their (relevant)data to the manager. But it also got me thinking about another problem. The manager could also reach it's limits which is exactly what i'm trying to prevent in the future. So I would like to know how I could fix this problem. (I have already tried to optimize critical parts of the software but I can't optimize it forever)

    So I have to find THE SECOND LARGEST NUMBER IN A LIST. I am doing it through simple loops.My approach is I am going to divide a list into two parts and then find the largest number into two parts and then compare two nuumbers. I will choose the smaller number from two of them. I can not use ready functions or different approaches.   • Nesting if else statements in PHP to validate a URL

    I'm currently writing up a function in order to validate a URL by exploding it into different parts and matching those parts with strings I've defined. This is the function I'm using so far: function validTnet($tnet_url) { $tnet_2 = "defined2"; $tnet_3 = "defined3"; $tnet_5 = "defined5"; $tnet_7 = ""; if($exp_url[2] == $tnet_2) { #show true, proceed to next validation if($exp_url[3] == $tnet_3) { #true, and next if($exp_url[5] == $tnet_5) { #true, and last if($exp_url[7] == $tnet_7) { #true, valid } } } } else { echo "failed on tnet_2"; } } For some reason I'm unable to think of the way to code (or search for the proper term) of how to break out of the if statements that are nested. What I would like to do check each part of the URL, starting with $tnet_2, and if it fails one of the checks ($tnet_2, $tnet_3, $tnet_5 or $tnet_7), output that it fails, and break out of the if statement. Is there an easy way to accomplish this using some of the code I have already?

F5 is capable of persisting a session based on a response header value: when HTTP_RESPONSE { set session [HTTP::header X-Session] if {$session ne ""} { persist add uie $session } } and then route all subsequent requests which contain the same session ID in a header, query parameter, path, etc. to the same machine, eg: when HTTP_REQUEST { set session [findstr [HTTP::path] "/session/" 9 / if {$session} { persist uie $session } } I'm wondering if this is even possible to do with HAProxy?

When I first was using it 3 years ago, it would let you search a database of thousands of ready-made templates, which I think Microsoft hosted at their own website. Several months ago, these templates were no longer available. I'm looking for some kind of replacement for common computer architecture and digital circuits, as well as user interface mock-ups. Does anybody know where I can find an assortment of these 'shapes'?

    has anyone ever run into a dirty cache issue with a Equallogic SAN. Even after replacement of the controller cards in the Equallogic Storage Array fails offline with a dirty cache.     We have a Windows 2008 R2 Server running on a Dell PowerEdge R310 Server with Bitlocker enabled. There are two physical Hard disks configured as RAID 1. One of the disks recently started having an issue, so we have now have a warranty covered replacement for it, But we were curious if there will be any issues hot swapping the new drive in due to BitLocker being enabled? Has anyone had a similar experience with scenario?

  • Why might PC3200 ECC ram be incompatible when upgrading?

    I had some 512MB PC3200 Kingston mem modules in a server, and I ordered replacement Kingston memory in 1GB sticks. The vendor said they were out of stock and I agreed to let them ship me "compatible" Samsung memory. However, after installing, the MB posted BIOS errors and wouldn't even boot to a BIOS screen. Both memory was ECC PC3200. Any ideas why that would happen?

    Is the backplane of a Dell PowerVault 220S svc tag 3sdpcb1 (14 drive, 80 pin hot swap scsi) upgradeable to a SAS/SATA backplane & controller card replacement? The unit already seems to be quite modular, with slide-out replaceable scsi controllers/connectors on the back, and slide out redundant power supplies. Can ESX be put on one disk as RAID-0 and others as RAID-5 ? so that in the event of disk failure data (VMs) are safe. if os disk RAID-0 fails could that be installed on replacement disk and still be able to keep VMs running? if not RAID-1 for OS is only option for OS disk? please suggest any other RAID options.

  • White lines appear right in the middle of my Dell XPS M1210 screen

    My Dell XPSM1210 has developed these weird lines right in the middle of the screen. When I connect an external monitor the lines disappear and the display is fine. I would like to know if this is a problem with the screen panel and if it needs replacement is there a place where I could buy one. This laptop is not under warranty so I'm willing to get the screen replaced. Thanks in advance!

  • Can I upgrade the processor in my laptop (Satellite L455)?

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L455-S5975 which is about three years old. The processor is currently an Intel Celeron 900. Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade this to a newer one? I have heard the Core 2 Duo T6600 is a compatible replacement for my processor on other brands of computers, and I know the two have the same socket type (PGA478). I mostly need to know if this or any other newer processors are compatible with the Satellite's motherboard.

  • Idling CPU at 65C, re-place or re-paste?

    Replaced Graphics card because screen would go black at a certain temp while gaming, but sound would stay on (but locked up). Then with replacement card whole PC shuts off during gaming now because the CPU is overheating. Note: CPU is only supposed to go up to 71C max according to manufacturer and it goes well over upon load. System Temp: 30C TL;DR: Idling CPU at 65C, started to shut down due to overheating, re-place (CPU, or CPU and Motherboard) or re-paste?
