    I would like to know if it's a good practice or legal to use non-standard tags in an HTML page for certain custom purposes. For example: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Nullam consequat, felis sit amet suscipit laoreet, nisi arcu accumsan arcu, vel pulvinar odio magna suscipit mi. I want to highlight "consectetur adipiscing elit" as important and "nisi arcu accumsan arcu" as highlighted. So in the HTML I would put: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, <important>consectetur adipiscing elit</important>.   • How do I teach bash in Ubuntu some curse words?

    When bash encounters an unknown command(word?) it does this : The program 'hello' can be found in the following packages: * hello * hello-debhelper Try: sudo apt-get install <selected package> what I would like to know is how this is done so I can edit it or add something before it to cross check the unknown word from a home grown dictionary which would have phrase:reply pairs that can then be sent to output. I am guilty of not looking enough for it around .. but the few bash guides I tried digging up didn't have anything on this. Maybe I am looking at the wrong places .. any pointers? And yes I am doing this so every time I type wtf when a program fails , I want something nice thrown back at me...

    When I download something to my desktop, or insert a CD or flash drive, the icon appears on my desktop. When I have conky running, the icon sometimes appears in the top right corner, underneath conky; where I can't see it. How do I stop this happening? My .conkyrc is pasted below.   • in iOS7 how do you stop the First viewcontroller autorotating?

    I have an app that just needs one screen to autorotate, the first and last screens should be portrait. I can get the last screen to stop rotating using: -(NSUInteger)supportedInterfaceOrientations { return UIInterfaceOrientationMaskPortrait; } But this does not work on the first screen, I am using a storyboard with a UINavigationController (I'm thinking that may have something to do with it?)     KDE Telepathy keeps getting in the way every time I try to use Empathy from the messaging menu. If I get a message, it opens in the KDE telepathy UI instead of in Empathy. This is rather frustrating as it causes a delay before it opens, and is not integrated with Empathy. How can I stop this from happening? This still happens in 12.10 and I've had to remove the kde-telepathy packages. Is there a solution?

    After arriving at this point in Learning Python The Hard Way I am wondering if this is a good practice to create a list of symbols and define what they do as noted in bold below, for every programming language. This seems reasonable, and might be very useful to have when jumping between programming languages? Is this something that programmers do or is it just a waste of effort? Exercise 22: What Do You Know So Far? There won't be any code in this exercise or the next one, so there's no WYSS or Extra Credit either. In fact, this exercise is like one giant Extra Credit. I'm going to have you do a form of review what you have learned so far. First, go back through every exercise you have done so far and write down every word and symbol (another name for 'character') that you have used. Make sure your list of symbols is complete. Next to each word or symbol, write its name and what it does. If you can't find a name for a symbol in this book, then look for it online. If you do not know what a word or symbol does, then go read about it again and try using it in some code. You may run into a few things you just can't find out or know, so just keep those on the list and be ready to look them up when you find them. Once you have your list, spend a few days rewriting the list and double checking that it's correct. This may get boring but push through and really nail it down. Once you have memorized the list and what they do, then you should step it up by writing out tables of symbols, their names, and what they do from memory. When you hit some you can't recall from memory, go back and memorize them again.

  • How to stop a infinite running process(ztail) started by a ssh session after that session is closed

    I have a peculiar problem. My server supports multiple ssh session simultaneously, so that multiple admins can manage it simultaneously. We have a command which calls ztail to show the compressed log files and when the current ssh session is closed (without pressing ctrlc, to stop the tail command), the command should ideally stop working. But what I observed when I start a new ssh session is that the process ztail is still running in the background and consuming CPU, even though the previous session was closed. How can I determine when the session is closed, so that I can use that variable/flag to close/stop any commands initiated by that previously closed session?

    I read somewhere that doing a backup or when Maintenance Plan runs can cause Log Shipping to stop functioning. Is this true? What should we watch out for once our Transaction Log Shipping is in place that could stop it? A Log Shipping test we were doing between two databases on the same SQL 2008 server appeared to stop working without any error. When we checked the History of the LSRestore_* job it was always ignoring the new *.trn files. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    I don't want to prevent all images from loading or stop loading everything, I just want to stop loading an individual image after I've seen that it's probably not something I care about so I can use that bandwidth for something else. My internet is very slow, but I still like browsing sites like tumblr, imgur, etc. that have lots of images. It seems like GIFs are getting more and more common and they can be several megabytes each... my internet just can't handle it. When I right-click a broken/unloaded image in Firefox, there's an option to reload the image. I essentially want the counterpart to that: to right-click a still-loading image and stop the download. Is this possible? Greasemonkey script, extension, I'll take any method.

    I would like to use Ubuntu's start-stop-daemon to start my application, but the application protects some sensitive information, so I have a mechanism where the application prompts for a password that's then used to generate a hashkey, which is used as the secret key for a symmetric encryption (AES) to encrypt and decrypt things from a database. I'd like to daemonize this application and have it run from start-stop-daemon, so that sudo service appname stop and sudo service appname start would work, but, I'm not sure how to go about doing this with the added complexity of a password prompt. Is there something that supports this or do I have to program it from scratch? I figured I should ask first before re-inventing the wheel. Thanks in advance.

    Is there a way to make Notepad++ auto-complete words on Tab instead of Enter? Currently, if want to type, say, frame, then Enter to begin a new line, instead the Enter will select the first auto-complete suggestion, like frameElement:      I do want the auto-complete feature, but I'd rather have a key like Tab do the actual selection, because Enter is frequently purposed toward starting a new line, whereas Tab is rarely used to indent after a word (since indenting is usually done at the start of lines), and so perhaps would be better repurposed toward auto-completion.

Is there a clear cut solution to this problem? Is this a bug on the cherrypy side, or can I write a puppet manifest so refresh is called only after the service is up and running?
