  Hello everyone, I have a table Student with 2 fields: Name: nvarchar(256) Age: int User will use a WinForm application to input a Name and a Age for searching. If inputted Name is empty, sql will not query Name field. If inputted Age is 0, sql will not query Age field. If Name is Null and inputted Name is empty - record is matched. If Name is Null and inputted Name is not empty - record is not matched. And also similar for Age field. My problem is that how to write a sql like this. P/S: I use SQL Server 2005. Please help me.   I'm writing an indicator-sound clone for OSS4. Setting the volume works fine now, but I'm having trouble with the muting aspect of my program. A couple of facts about muting in OSS4: vmix doesn't have a mute (and we use vmix for volume control) also, the 'media keys' way of controlling volume doesn't set a mute control, but rather, volume = 0 The problem with this is, when reading the vmix volume and encountering zero, we don't know if the user has actually set it to zero, or has it set to some other value, but has mute on. How should I write my muting logic? git code, if that helps

  Is there any libraries for this? I will put this on a server and it will be a windows service. And Skype will not be installed on server. So Skype API will not mean anything I guess. Edit: I am sorry for not being clear. Here is what i need: I just need a Skype client which will act like a small bot. A person who uses Skype will ask it something like: print totalCreditsLoadedToday And it will answer: 567867867 credits. I need to write a windows service which will accept text messages from Skype and will send responses as text message (a very simple Skype client).   I'm trying to write a background worker that processes a flowdocument. I can't access the properties of flowdocument objects because of the thread verification. I tried to serialize the document and loaded it on the worker thread which actually solved the thread verfication issue. However, once the processing is complete I also need to use things like TextPointer objects. Those objects now point to a objects in the copy not the original. Can anyone suggest the best way to approach such background processing in WPF?

  I have elements of a list in couchdb documents. Let's say these are 3 elements in 3 documents: { "id" : "783587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "joey", "sort" : 100.0 } { "id" : "358734ff6", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jill", "sort" : 110.0 } { "id" : "abf587346", "type" : "aList", "content" : "jack", "sort" : 120.0 } A view retrieves all "aList" documents and displays them sorted by "sort". Now I want to move the elements, when I want to move "jack" to the middle, I could do this atomic in one write and change it's sort key to 105.0. The view now returns the documents in the new sort order. After a lot of sorting I could end up with sort keys like 50.99999 and 50.99998 after some years and in extreme situations run out of digits? What can you recommend, is there a better way to do this? I'd rather keep the elements in seperate documents. Different users might edit different elements in parallel (which also can get tricky). Maybe there is a much better way?

A typical user's profile url would be http://www.mymark.com/mike Each user is also created a blog in a multi-user wordpress installation. The wordpress url would look like this: http://www.mymark.com/blog/mike I am trying to use the rewrite module to create more canonical urls for the user (http://www.mymark.com/mike/blog), and have tried several regex variations that I have created through RegExr(a regex generation tool) and come up with this as the pattern to match (www.|)mymark.com/([^/]+)/blog but haven't had any success so far. What am I doing wrong here? Here is a screen shot of my re-write rule:

I have this sql query: select * from A where not exists (select * from B natural join C where B.id = A.id and C.value > 10); Which says: "Give me every item from table A where all sub-items have value less than 10. Is there a way to optimize this? And is there a way to write this not using exists operator?

  Having a hard time fixing this or finding any good hints about it. I'm trying to loop over one file, modify each line slightly, and then loop over a different file. Yes, I am sure the if has true cases. :-) "seqres.txt" has lines with an ID number in a certain format, each followed by a line with data. The "ids.txt" has lines with the ID numbers of interest in a different format. I want each line of data with an interesting ID number in its own file.   I've written a small console application that can perform certain tasks. The user interface is similar to things like version control systems or yum etc. So basically you can think of it as a domain specific language. Now I'd like to write a (bash like) shell that can execute and auto-complete this language and has a command history (so I do not have to load and save the quite large xml files on each command). In a nutshell I want something like ipython but not for executing python code but my own DSL. Are there any libraries that help me doing this? I see that there is a readline and rlcompleter module in python but its documentation seems to indicate that this is only for use with the python shell itself, or did I miss something there?

The input csv has no headers, the data is as follows: 05/25/2010,18:48:33,Stop,a1usak,10.128.212.212 05/25/2010,18:48:36,Start,q2uhal,10.136.198.231 05/25/2010,18:48:09,Stop,s0upxb,10.136.198.231 I use the following piping construct to read the file, sort and output to a file: (Get-Content d:\vpnData\u62gvpn2.csv) | %{,[regex]::Split($, ",")} | sort @{Expression={$[3]}},@{Expression={$_[1]}} | out-file d:\vpnData\u62gvpn3.csv The new file is written with the following format: 05/25/2010 07:41:57 Stop a0uaar 10.128.196.160 05/25/2010 12:24:24 Start a0uaar 10.136.199.51 05/25/2010 20:00:56 Stop a0uaar 10.136.199.51 What I would like to see in the output file is a similar format to the original input file with comma dilimiters: 05/25/2010,07:41:57,Stop,a0uaar,10.128.196.160 05/25/2010,12:24:24,Start,a0uaar,10.136.199.51 05/25/2010,20:00:56,Stop,a0uaar,10.136.199.51 But I can't quite seem to get there. I'm almost of the mind that I'll have to write another segment to read the newly produced file and reset its contents to the preferred format for further processing. Thoughts?

  On our network (a group of related websites - not a LAN) we have a common authentication system which works like this: On a network site ("consumer") the user clicks on a login link This redirects the user to a login page on our auth system ("RAS"). Upon successful login the user is directed back to the consumer site. Extra data is passed in the query string. This extra data does not include any information about the user yet. The consumer site's backend contacts RAS to get the information about the logged in user. So as you can see, the consumer site knows nothing about the authentication method. It doesn't know if it's by username/password, fingerprint, smartcard, or winning a game of poker. This is the main problem I'm encountering when trying to find out how I could write custom authentication plugins for these packages, acting as consumer sites: Wordpress Joomla MediaWiki For example Joomla offers a pretty simple auth plugin system, but it depends on a username/password entered on the Joomla site. Any hints on where to start?

(To the best of my knowledge, String values can't be used in switch statements, and even then, a switch statement would only be a small improvement.

Rewrite the same code in C++ and Java and compare the results. I have written code, and played with it in all three languages but I can not even get it to compile. This includes declaring x above the three lines as well as in the calling function (as this question is obviously attempting to illustrate scoping issues) I'd like to explain the results and do the comparisons on my own, as it is an assignment question but I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to how to get this code to compile?
