• Android bug with buttons and editText

  I have some android code (textView, editText, button) and I add all strings in string.xml. I call these data in this way: Button vibro; setVibro((Button) findViewById(R.id.vibro)); vibro.setText(getString(R.string.vibro_button)); vibro = (Button)findViewById(R.id.vibro); and also I create set and get method for it. This is one part of my main.xml: android:id="@+id/editme" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/username" / <Button android:id="@+id/buttons" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/bfirst" /> and this is one part of my string.xml: Register The problem is that I see the buttons and edit text and everything in all my pages. I am sure that I call them in a correct way. But what can cause a problem?

I want to select the FundingCancellationReason corrersponding to minimum date for each funding. I wrote a query as follows.   I'm creating a search function for my website where the user can put in anything he likes in a textfield. It get's matched against anything (name, title, job, car brand, ... you name it) I initially wrote the query with an INNER JOIN on every table that needed to be searched. SELECT column1, column2, ... FROM person INNER JOIN person_car ON ... INNER JOIN car ... This ended up in a query with 6 or 8 INNER JOINs, and a whole lot WHERE ... LIKE '%searchvalue%' Now this query seems to cause a time'out in MySql, and I even got a warning from my hosting provider that the queries just taking up too many resources. Now obviously I'm doing this very wrong, but I was wondering how the correct approach to these kind of search functions is. Thanks!

  I keep running into situations where I don't know what event I have to listen to in order to execute my code at the correct time. Is there any way to get a log of all events that is raised? Any way to filter that log based on what object raised the event? • Are Sting int values guaranteed to be constant over different projects

  I have some messages being passed back from my server through php. The problem is that the messages are in English and if the user is using another language they will still get the message in English. So I had an idea that maybe instead of passing back the message I would instead pass the String resource Id from the android app, that way the app will get the correct string id for their language. I will use this in a number of apps so I just want to know if the string id is guaranteed to be the same across different android projects?

However, I was just wondering if this is the correct approach? Or if there was a better way?

• Inconsistent Routing Results in MVC

  Seems I'm still missing something to the MVC routing concept. I have a route that follows nearly the same pattern as another route in an area but for what ever reason I get a 404 every time I attempt to run it. I've tried to use Phil Haack's Route Tester DLL and according to that it hits the correct route (matched route comes out to common/itemhistory/{contentid}). When I try to run it for real, it blows up. I'm trying to map a call to a JsonResult by passing a Guid. I've had success with other routes working fine (common is an area in my site). • how to call windows paint event from child thread

  If I am wrong then please correct me as I am new in this. I have one thread which display image captured from webcam on a windows created using CreateWindowEx() function. Now when i execute my program I can see that my paint code (in WindowProc()) in never reached (called InvalidateRect() from child thread to redraw), checked using breakpoint. Actually frame capture and display is being done in thread and I think because its in child thread and Window is in Main thread that is why its not able to call paint event. Can you help me on this

  It it possible to enable validation in an ASP.NET GridView purely declaratively? What I've tried: A GridView bound to an ObjectDataSource with SelectMethod and UpdateMethod defined The GridView contains some ReadOnly BoundField columns and a TemplateField whose EditTemplate contains a TextBox and a RegularExpressionValidator that only allows numeric input in the TextBox. The GridView also contains a CommandField with ShowEditButton=true and CausesValidation=true. If I click on Edit, enter an invalid value, then click on Save, there is a PostBack, and an exception is thrown in the server (Input string was not in a correct format). • how to configure IP cam to stream using right network card?

  I have IP cam that supports RTSP streaming. It's connected to router with 2 network cards with IP1 and IP2 addresses. I make 2 connections to IP cam by IP1 and IP2 addresses from the same IP and I need to receive corresponding streams thru correct network card, but both streams (RTP over UDP) go thru IP1. How this can be resolved? I don't know if RTSP server binds UDP sockets to corresponding IP and I don't know what IP stack is in IP cam (weak end system or strong end system). I haven't found anything interesting in router configuration. As I understand, routing table cannot help me cos I'm connected from the same IP, is it right? • How do I add a loading indicator to my page while my iframe loads?

  I am currently creating a page where upon clicking a link an iframe is inserted into a div and it's contents loaded. I do this using the following jQuery call: $('#mydiv').html('<iframe src="sourcelink.html" frameborder="0" width="760" height="2400" scrolling="no"></iframe>'); Sometimes the source content loads very slowly and, as a result, it looks like nothing is happening. I would like to have a simple loading animation while the content is loading while the iframe's content loads. When the iframe finishes loading it's content should pop in and the loading animation should go away. I've been considering a couple ways I could do this (e.g. having a separate loader div to simply swap the two in and out) but I'm not sure of what the 'best' approach to solving this problem is. Perhaps I shouldn't be using .html()? I'm open to suggestion if there is a more correct solution.

• WCF server component getting outdated user name

She is able to login to her Windows box fine with her new user name, but when she tries to run the client side of our application, the server gets her old user name in the "userName" variable in the code above, which messes up our authentication (since her old user name is no longer in our database). Another piece of info: This only happens when she connects to the server code on the Production server. We have the same server code running on a QA server, and it does not have this issue (the QA server code gets her correct (new) user name) Any ideas what could be going on?

  So I have an iPhone application that utilizes a UINavigationController for setting up the views. When the application first starts, it presents the user with a UITableViewController and the user can select an item and it will push another view. Now I have it set so that my app remembers the user's last selection and automatically selects it and loads the correct view controller. The only problem is that I am experiencing a really weird glitch when I load the next view automatically.. When the view is pushed, the navigation toolbar will change so that a back button directed to the previous view is showing but it won't display the next view. It will instead keep showing the table view and I can interact with it as well. I can press the back button and it will change the toolbar back and the tableview is still shown. Then when I select an item it loads the view just fine. Thanks for the help.

• DropDownList always does full-page postback, the first time it fires.

  I have an ASP.NET page using the AJAX library. There is a dropdownlist inside an UpdatePanel, which on index changing is supposed to update a different UpdatePanel to modify a grid control. But after the page first comes up, and you adjust the ddl, the entire page postbacks, followed by a (correct) partial postback. After this one time, every other usage of the ddl performs correctly, trigger partial postbacks. Both the panel and the ddl are being added from code. The UP is Conditional updates and ChildrenAsTriggers = true. The dropdownlist is AutoPostBack true and has an event set up on SelectedIndexChanged. So what is going on? I've tried adjusting every setting I can think of and still the page completely refreshes once, then works fine after that.

  I'm doing a windows form and would like an audit task to happen every 30 seconds. This audit is essentially checking a series of services on remote computers and reporting back into a richtextbox the status. Current I have this running in an endless background thread and using an invoker to update the richtextbox in the main form. Is this best practice? If I made an endless loop in my main form that would prevent any of my buttons from working, correct? I'm just curious if every time I want to create a periodic audit check I have to create a new thread which checks the status or file or what have you?

Basically I want NHibernate to map generic class which has has generic type parameter. Want I understand from googling around is that NHibernate is not able to parse the name to the correct type in TypeNameParser.Parse() which result in the following error when adding the mapping to the configuration System.ArgumentException: Exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' was thrown. Parameter name: typeName@31 Anybody found a way around this limitation?

  I need to sort alot of files based on their filename. I would like to use a batch file to do it. I do know what I want but I am not sure of the correct syntax. Example of filenames I work with: (They are all in the same directory originally) 2012_W34_Sales_Store001.pdf 2012_W34_Sales_Store002.pdf 2012_W34_Sales_Store003.pdf 2012_November_Sales_Store001.pdf 2012_November_Sales_Store002.pdf 2012_November_Sales_Store003.pdf I would like to extract the information that are located between the "_" signs and put them into a different variable each time. The lenght of the informations contained between the _ signs will be different everytime. Example: var1="2012" var2="W34" (or November) var3="Sales" var4="001" If I am able to do this, I could then copy the files to the appropriate directory using move %var1%_%var2%_%var3%_%var4%.pdf z:\%var3%\%var4%\%var1%\%var2% It would need to loop because I have Store001 to Store050. Also, there are not only Sales report, many others are available. I hope I am clear. Please help me realize this batchfile!

• What is a good solution to link different tables in Hibernate based on some field value?

  I have article table and several user tables a_user, b_user, ... with exactly the same structure (but different data). I can't change anything in *_user tables except their table name prefix but can change everything else (user tables contain only user information, there is nothing about article or user_type in them). I need to link article to a user (many-to-one), but user table name is defined by user_type field. For example Article table record: ... user_id="5" user_type="a" means that it is linked to a user with id=5 from a_user table (id 5 is not unique in users scope, each user table can have its id 5). Any suggestions how to handle this situation? How can I map this relation in Hibernate (xml mapping, no annotations) so it will automatically pick up correct user for an article during select/update? How should I map user tables (one or multiple classes?)? I would need to run some queries like this: from Article a where a.userType=:type and a.user.name=:name Thanks.

• How to determine on which file system a file was created in Java

  Hi Everyone! I get files in different formats coming from different systems that I need to import into our database. Part of the import process it to check the line length to make sure the format is correct. We seem to be having issues with files coming from UNIX systems where one character is added. I suspect this is due to the return carriage being encoded differently on UNIX and windows platform. Is there a way to detect on which file system a file was created, other than checking the last character on the line? Or maybe a way of reading the files as text and not binary which I suspect is the issue? Thanks Guys !
