  • Is it possible to produce a small preview or thumbnail image of a Crystal report in code?

    I'm using Crystal to display the reports in my project, and I'd like to be able to display a small preview or thumbnail image of the report to the user when he or she is picking a report to display from my UI. Is there any way to produce these thumbnails dynamically from code? The user has the option to add or remove reports by adding or removing them from the reports folder, so just making all the thumbnail images by hand isn't really an option.

    I am trying to do a simple query to get a unique result back in hibernate here is my code. public String getName(Integer id) { Session session = getSessionFactory().openSession(); String name = (String)session.createSQLQuery("SELECT name FROM users WHERE user_id = :userId").setParameter("userId", id).uniqueResult(); return name; } The name that is being returned is stored as HTML text that includes html syntacx language. I think this is what is causing the problem but it doesnt make sense I just want to return it as a string. It is only happening on this one field name, I can get every other field in the row but this one it gives me the error. I am getting an exception. The exception I am getting is No Dialect mapping for JDBC type: -1; nested exception is org.hibernate.HibernateException How do you query for a specific column on a row in hibernate?

  • Draw camera position in specific view port.

    Most of this code should be fairly self explanatory. I got an display function and my view port function. There are two modes which is 4 small view ports in the window or one large. I got one camera which can be moved and if in 4 view port mode just 3 fixed angles. The thing is I want the free moving cameras position to be displayed in the 3 other view ports. I tried doing it by drawing spheres using opengl but the problem is that then the position gets draw in the free roaming camera too as it shows the same scene. It doesn't have to be a sphere, just something simple that represents the cameras spacial position in these three other views. Drawing the scene once with camera object showing for the three viewports, render to texture.   • Sorting related objects in the Django Admin form interface

    I am looking to sort the related objects that show up when editing an object using the admin form. So for example, I would like to take the following object: class Person(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField( ... ) last_name = models.CharField( ... ) hero = models.ForeignKey( 'self', null=True, blank=True ) and edit the first name, last name and hero using the admin interface. I want to sort the objects as they show up in the drop down by last name, first name (ascending). How do I do that? Context I'm using Django v1.1. I started by looking for help in the django admin docs, but didn't find the solution As you can see in the example, the foreign key is pointing to itself, but I expect it would be the same as pointing to a different model object. Bonus points for being able to filter the related objects, too (eg~ only allow selecting a hero with the same first name)

  • How do I write to command line from a WPF application?

    Hi I know how to write to console but if I write to console in my program and call my program from the command line it won't display anything. How do I make it so that when I say Console.WriteLine or Console.Out.Writeline ir prints to the command prompt from which it was called and not somewhere else? Once again I know how to do Console.WriteLine so it's not that :-p unless I'm doing it wrong. From what I can tell it's probably something to do with Console.SetOut(TextWriter t) this is a WPF application and I need it to post its data to the command line while still retaining the GUI at startup. I've triple checked and my code hits the print lines, I can actually see the lines being printed to the Visual Studio output window, it just won't display in the command line when I run it manually without VS. If possible I need to conditionally have the console display. ie if run from command line (or even with command arguments), display or post to the prompt, otherwise do not.

    When you make a new WCF project, sample service is generated for you. The default data contract is (I've just changed the string type field title): [DataContract] public class CompositeType { bool boolValue = true; string name = ""; [DataMember] public bool BoolValue { get { return boolValue; } set { boolValue = value; } } [DataMember] public string Name { get { return name; } set { name = value; } } } What is the point of having those private fields boolValue and name? Is it a good practice writing some data sanitizing or some other manipulations in contract, thus bloating it? It seems the only sane reason for me not writing to fields directly. So is it a bloatware or it has some reason behind it?

  • Contacts activity doesn't return data

    In my app I simply open the list of activities and when a contact is clicked I attempt to retrieve the name of the contact selected and put it into a string. The app crashes in the onActivityResult() function.     I've got a CUPS job control file. I need to get the actual dimensions of the print that was made. This is the way I've figure out to do it: Get the paper name using the media attribute. (e.g. Letter) Get the printer uri from the printer-uri attribute. (e.g. ipp://localhost/printers/MyPrinter) Get the printer name by passing the printer uri to the IPP_GET_PRINTER_ATTRIBUTES operation and getting the printer-name attribute. (e.g. MyPrinter) Get the path to the PPD passing the printer name to the the cupsGetPPD method. Open the PPD passing the path to the PPD to the ppdOpenFile method. Get the paper size by passing the PPD and paper name to the ppdPageSize method. This will work, but it seems a bit roundabout. Is there a more efficient way of getting what I need?

However, in firefox, the elements are displyed on to the next line as well. How do I get them to display in 1 single line in firefox.   • How to override jquery's show() and hide() functions

    hi all Short version of question: see title Long version of question: I've used jquery's show() and hide() functions extensively in my code and just encountered a bit of a problem: they work by changing the display attribute of the element to 'block' or 'none' respectively, so that if you have somethin that has display: inline and then hide and show it, you've changed its display to block, which screws up the layout in a couple of cases. In my code, whenever i want something to be hidden initially i give it a class 'hidden'. This class is simply {display: none}. I'd like the change show and hide to remove or add this class, instead of directly changing the display attribute, so that if you add the hidden class and then remove it again (ie hide and show something) then it's back to exactly how it was to start off with (since adding a class overrides the attributes rather than directly changing them). Something like this (this is a little pseucodey as i don't know how to set the function up properly - let's assume that 'this' is the object that show/hide was called on) function show(){ this.removeClass("hidden"); } function hide(){ this.addClass("hidden"); } how and where would i go about overriding the jquery methods?     Hello, I'm trying to create a report that displays for each months of the year the quantity of goods sold. I have a query that returns the list of goods sold for each month, it looks something like this : SELECT Seller.FirstName, Seller.LastName, SellingHistory.Month, SUM(SellingHistory.QuantitySold) FROM SellingHistory JOIN Seller on SellingHistory.SellerId = Seller.SellerId WHERE SellingHistory.Year = @Year GOUP BY Seller.FirstName, Seller.LastName, SellingHistory.Month What I want to do is display a report that has a column for each months + a total column that will display for each Seller the quantity sold in the selected month. Seller Name | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec | Total What I managed to do is using a matrix and a column group (group on Month) to display the columns for existing data, if I have data from January to March, it will display the 3 first columns and the total. What I would like to do is always display all the columns. I thought about making that by adding the missing months in the SQL request, but I find that a bit weird and I'm sure there must be some "cleanest" solution as this is something that must be quite frequent. Thanks. PS: I'm using SQL Server Express 2008
