  • Webservice works with SoapSonar but not with Visual Studio Winform

    - by Rebol Tutorial
    I have generated a wsdl file with Visual Studio which is here; http://reboltutorial.com/webservices/discordian.wsdl Implementation is a cgi instead of a .net framework program but that should not matter as it is the purposes of webservices. I tested it successfully with SoapSonar: But under Visual Studio it fails with this code: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { RebolTutorial.ServiceSoapClient Discordian = new RebolTutorial.ServiceSoapClient("ServiceSoap"); int year = int.Parse(this.year.Text); int month = int.Parse(this.month.Text); int day = int.Parse(this.day.Text); response.Text = Discordian.Discordian(year,month,day); } Any reason you can see ? Thanks. Request below: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:tns="http://reboltutorial.com/"> <soap:Body> <tns:Discordian> <tns:year>2010</tns:year> <tns:month>5</tns:month> <tns:day>1</tns:day> </tns:Discordian> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> as well as WSDL if needed: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <wsdl:definitions xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap/" xmlns:tm="http://microsoft.com/wsdl/mime/textMatching/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:mime="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/mime/" xmlns:tns="http://reboltutorial.com/" xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap12="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/soap12/" xmlns:http="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/http/" targetNamespace="http://reboltutorial.com/" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/"> <wsdl:types> <s:schema elementFormDefault="qualified" targetNamespace="http://reboltutorial.com/"> <s:element name="Discordian"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="year" type="s:int" /> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="month" type="s:int" /> <s:element minOccurs="1" maxOccurs="1" name="day" type="s:int" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> <s:element name="DiscordianResponse"> <s:complexType> <s:sequence> <s:element minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="1" name="DiscordianResult" type="s:string" /> </s:sequence> </s:complexType> </s:element> </s:schema> </wsdl:types> <wsdl:message name="DiscordianSoapIn"> <wsdl:part name="parameters" element="tns:Discordian" /> </wsdl:message> <wsdl:message name="DiscordianSoapOut"> <wsdl:part name="parameters" element="tns:DiscordianResponse" /> </wsdl:message> <wsdl:portType name="ServiceSoap"> <wsdl:operation name="Discordian"> <wsdl:input message="tns:DiscordianSoapIn" /> <wsdl:output message="tns:DiscordianSoapOut" /> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:portType> <wsdl:binding name="ServiceSoap" type="tns:ServiceSoap"> <soap:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" /> <wsdl:operation name="Discordian"> <soap:operation soapAction="http://reboltutorial.com/Discordian" style="document" /> <wsdl:input> <soap:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:input> <wsdl:output> <soap:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:output> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:binding> <wsdl:binding name="ServiceSoap12" type="tns:ServiceSoap"> <soap12:binding transport="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/http" /> <wsdl:operation name="Discordian"> <soap12:operation soapAction="http://reboltutorial.com/Discordian" style="document" /> <wsdl:input> <soap12:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:input> <wsdl:output> <soap12:body use="literal" /> </wsdl:output> </wsdl:operation> </wsdl:binding> <wsdl:service name="Service"> <wsdl:port name="ServiceSoap" binding="tns:ServiceSoap"> <soap:address location="http://reboltutorial.com/cgi-bin/discordian.cgi" /> </wsdl:port> <wsdl:port name="ServiceSoap12" binding="tns:ServiceSoap12"> <soap12:address location="http://reboltutorial.com/cgi-bin/discordian.cgi" /> </wsdl:port> </wsdl:service> </wsdl:definitions>

  • Resharper vs. Coderush - 2010 remake

    - by Boydski
Refer to this post for discussions on previous versions. Asking the question again since Visual Studio 2010 has been officially released. Does anyone have any visibility this early on as to which is better? What about any other products that may be out there? This one will probably be on my dime, so I'd like the wisdom of those with experience before pulling the trigger on a decision.

  • DevPartner Profiler Community Edition

    - by Henry
I used to have DevPartner Profiler Community Edition installed on my machine, which was free to use indefinitely and was compatible with Visual Studio 2003. After I have rebuild my machine and downloaded a newer version (version 8.1) of the software, it turns out it is actually a 45 day trial eventhough it is still called a Community Edition. I have tried looking for an older version, but haven't been able to find it. Could someone help me out please?

  • LINQ to SQL get grouped MIN with JOIN

    - by Ira Rainey
I'm having trouble with a LINQ to SQL query getting the min value using Visual Basic. Here's the SQL: SELECT RC.AssetID, MIN(RC.RecCode) AS RecCode, JA.EngineerNote from JobAssetRecCode RC JOIN JobAssets JA ON JA.AssetID = RC.AssetID AND JA.JobID = RC.JobID WHERE RC.InspState = 2 AND RC.RecCode > 0 AND RC.JobID = @JobID GROUP BY RC.AssetID, JA.EngineerNote; I seem to be going around in circles here with grouping etc not managing to get it working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Database 'C:\\Permias.mdf' already exists. Choose a different database name.

  • Vs2010 MvcBuildViews Not firing

    - by Maslow
This project in Vs2008 targeting .net 3.5 used to compile views. Vs2010 Targeting .net 4.0 the following view code is not picked up as an error, and I have not found anyway to listen to the mvcBuildview trace/debug output: <%{ %> A completely unmatched code block declaration is not being picked up, neither was a partial view inheriting from a non existent namespace/class. <PropertyGroup Condition=" '$(Configuration)|$(Platform)' == 'DebugWithBuildViews|AnyCPU' "> <!--<BaseIntermediateOutputPath>bin/intermediate</BaseIntermediateOutputPath>--> <!--<MvcBuildViews Condition=" '$(Configuration)' == 'DebugWithBuildViews' ">true</MvcBuildViews>--> <EnableUpdateable>false</EnableUpdateable> <MvcBuildViews>true</MvcBuildViews> <DebugSymbols>true</DebugSymbols> <OutputPath>bin</OutputPath> <DefineConstants>DEBUG;TRACE</DefineConstants> <DebugType>full</DebugType> <PlatformTarget>AnyCPU</PlatformTarget> <CodeAnalysisUseTypeNameInSuppression>true</CodeAnalysisUseTypeNameInSuppression> <CodeAnalysisModuleSuppressionsFile>GlobalSuppressions.cs</CodeAnalysisModuleSuppressionsFile> <ErrorReport>prompt</ErrorReport> <CodeAnalysisRuleSet>AllRules.ruleset</CodeAnalysisRuleSet> <RunCodeAnalysis>true</RunCodeAnalysis> </PropertyGroup> My BeforeBuild: <Target Name="BeforeBuild"> <WriteLinesToFile File="$(OutputPath)\env.config" Lines="$(Configuration)" Overwrite="true"> </WriteLinesToFile> My AfterBuild: <Target Name="AfterBuild" Condition="'$(MvcBuildViews)'=='true'"> <!--<BaseIntermediateOutputPath>[SomeKnownLocationIHaveAccessTo]</BaseIntermediateOutputPath>--> <Message Importance="high" Text="Precompiling views" /> <!--<AspNetCompiler VirtualPath="temp" PhysicalPath="$(ProjectDir)..\$(ProjectName)" />--> <!--<AspNetCompiler VirtualPath="temp" />--> <!--PhysicalPath="$(ProjectDir)\..\$(ProjectName)"--> I know the MvcBuildViews property is true because the Precompiling views message comes through. The compile is a success but it does not catch the view compilation errors. I have Vs2010 ultimate, vs 2008 developer+database edition on this machine. So either it compiles ignoring the errors with some combinations of the fixes I've tried, or it errors with Error 410 It is an error to use a section registered as allowDefinition='MachineToApplication' beyond application level. This error can be caused by a virtual directory not being configured as an application in IIS. web.config 100 The commented out sections are things I have tried Previously I have tried the fixes from these posts: Compile Views in Asp.net Mvc AllowDefinitionMachinetoApplicationError MvcBuildviews Issue Turning on MVC Build Views in 2010 TFS Johnny Coder

  • How to build OpenSSL in release mode with symbols?

    - by twk
I generally build my openssl libs by doing this: perl Configure VC-WIN32 ms\do_masm nmake -f ms\ntdll.mak nmake -f ms\ntdll.mak test For debugging minidumps, I'd like to get a pdb file for the 2 dlls (while still building them in "release" mode). I've added /Zi to the CFLAGS part of ms\ntdll.mak, but I still get "Binary was not built with debug information" when I look at the in-memory modules in the visual studio debugger. Am I missing a step? Thanks

  • Warning while downloading setup.exe builded by visual setup project

    - by nosbor
I've built installer for my(c#, wpf) application by visual setup project. I share my project over internet by web site. But when I download the file I receive warning(actually looks like terrible error or virus) that the application(setup.exe) can harm my computer and apocalypse will come in near future if I will run it. Yes my installer is not signed by MS certificate, but I saw that other installers of others application also don't have cert but the warning is not shown(for instance installer of notepad++). Do you have any suggestions or solution of my problem?

  • Convert Doxygen to XML comments

    - by jmster
We have a C# project which for historical reasons uses both Doxygen and Visual Studio style comments in the same code. Has anyone tried to systematically translate one standard to another, preferably to the common XML subset? I guess it would not be too difficult to write a script to cover the most common features, but I would not like to reinvent the wheel.

  • webbrowser disable script debugging in Visual Basic 6

    - by me4245
Hi, I want to disable script errors from popping up in a VB6 application. (I have VB6 installed on this machine). Currently, if I navigate to a particular page, it pops up saying "INternet Explorer Script Error: An error has ocurred in the script on this page" ... "Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" Setting the webbrowser1.silent to 'true' does not work. Instead all that happens, is instead of displaying an error message, it starts up the actual 'script' debugger, and then exits the program. On a machine without the (visual studio) debugger, it still pops up a message asking to use the debugger, i.e., on Vista, (when silent is set to true). Manually changing the 'disable script debugging (other)' (and regular one), doesn't seem to working in MSIE (also testing version 6.0 for xp users). How do I disable script errors? Thanks in advance!

  • FxCop for .NET 4.0

    - by Jim McKeeth
I know Visual Studio 2010 has a new Code Analysis tool built in, but that is only for the premium and ultimate editions. From what I can see the latest FxCop supports .NET 3.5 SP1. Searching I wasn't able to find any references to an FxCop for .NET 4.0. Is there plans to continue to offer FxCop and for it to support .NET 4.0? Where would I find more information about it and download it?

  • Migrating ASP.NET (MVC 2) on .NET 3.5 over to .NET 4 #gotchas

    - by Charlino
I've currently got a ASP.NET MVC 2 application on .NET 3.5 and I want to migrate it over to the new .NET 4.0 with Visual Studio 2010. Reason being that it's always good to stay on top of these things - plus I really like the new automatic encoding with <%: %> and clean web.config :-) So, does anyone have any experience they could share? Looking for gotchas and the likes. I guess this could also apply to any ASP.NET Forms projects aswell. TIA, Charles

  • Can't attach to Silverlight application with VS2010

    - by Budda
Few days ago all was ok: when I started my web-site with Silverlight 4.0 application with F5 in Visual Studio debugger was connecting to Silverlight automatically, but now it doesn't. I've tried to attach manually from "Debug"-"Attach to process" with "Attach to" option set into "Silverlight code" value. But my breakpoints are still "disabled"... Why? How can I resolve that? Thanks.

  • .net Listview control will only display largeIcon.

    - by Redshirt
I'm using the RC of visual Studio 2010. Writing a .net 3.5 application. When I launch the app, the listview control only shows in LargeIcon view. This is not the view I want. I've set the View property in the designer with no success. I've even tried to explicitly set the view during runtime lvAvailableItems.View = View.Tile; Has anyone else had this issue, and if so what was your workaround.

  • Working with .NET Project Files and Schemas?

    - by Mitchel Sellers
I'm working on a project that will require me to take various .vbproj and .csproj files and determine which version of Visual Studio they were built with and then to get information such as the output dll name etc. Does anyone know if there is a schema available for these files? Google and MSDN searches are coming up a bit blank.

  • C# Putting the required DLLs somewhere other than the root of the output

    - by aip.cd.aish
I am using EmguCV for a project and when our program runs it needs some dlls like "cxcore.dll" etc. (or it throws runtime exceptions). At the moment, I put the files in the root of the output folder (selected "Copy Always" in the file's properties in Visual Studio). However it looks a bit messy, to have about 10 different dlls just there. Is there someway where I can move it to a subfolder in the output folder and it'll still find it.

  • Visual Studio Code Metrics and the Maintainability index of switch case

    - by pee2002
Hi there! As a person who loves to follow the best practices, If i run code metrics (right click on project name in solution explorer and select "Calculate Code Metrics" - Visual Studio 2010) on: public static string GetFormFactor(int number) { string formFactor = string.Empty; switch (number) { case 1: formFactor = "Other"; break; case 2: formFactor = "SIP"; break; case 3: formFactor = "DIP"; break; case 4: formFactor = "ZIP"; break; case 5: formFactor = "SOJ"; break; } return formFactor; } It Gives me a Maintainability index of 61 (of course this is insignificant if you have only this, but if you use an utility like class whos philosophy is doing stuff like that, your utility class will have the maintainability index much worst..) Whats the solution for this?
