    I'm using custom tags to define sections in an application, so I have something like this: <mysection> <form> <input name="myfield"> </form> </mysection> I'm using the following and able to get the tag (printed to console, everything is groovy) var parent = document.getElementsByTagName('mysection'); The issue I'm having is finding the child field by name: var myfield = parent.getElementsByName("myfield"); ...as I don't want to pick up on any other 'sections' that might have an input with the name 'myfield'. EDIT: var parent = document.getElementsByTagName('mysection')[0]; was suggested and returns to console the section contents, however, getElementsByName throws an error: Uncaught TypeError: Object #<NodeList> has no method 'getElementsByName'

  • What does a mercurial revision with no parent mean?

    I have a Mercurial repository that is in a strange state now. This is what it looks like in TortoiseHG: I didn't think this would be possible. Revision 54 has a parent of "-1 (000000000000)" (i.e. nothing). There's clearly something I don't understand yet about Mercurial, can anyone let me know what this means - and what must have happened for it to get into this state. As far as I know, it's only had stuff pushed and pulled from it - and nobody has been using any wacky extensions. Revisions 54 and 55 were just adding tags, but if I 'update -C' to revision 54 I end up with ONLY the .hgtags file. I've made a clone from revision 53 to fix this. But I'd rather understand what happened here, so I can avoid it happening again.

  • Writing To The Response in Rails? (Like "echo" in PHP)

    I know that I can do this in Rails: <%="hello" %> but is there any way to do this <% echo "hello" %> and get it to show up in the response? I have tried response.write which almost worked, but did not... Edit: print or puts do not do it, because I do not want to write to the console. I want to write to the browser/HTTP client. Edit: Here is an example: <% unless @research_activities.size == 0 concat(render(:partial => 'list')) end %> Why would I want to include two closing tags just to do that? It reads nicely in code, doesn't it?

    Hi all, I understand you can add insert blocks of html before and after a target using before(), insertBefore(), after() and insertAfter(). I tried to do something similar to this <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $("p").before("<div class='myContainer'>"); $("p").after("</div>"); }); </script> <p>paragraph</p> But the inject seems to automatically create closing tags for me, is there a way around this?     I set an request attribute in my action class as follows: request.setAttribute("xFg",Boolean.TRUE); I want to retrive this in my JSP. I want to retrive them using JSTL tags. I tried this : <c:if test="${requestScope.xFg}"> <c:set var="showlist" value="true" /> </c:if> But c:if didnt work, i mean it didnt goto c:set I tried to print the sameusing c:out but nothing got displayed. What is wrong or How should i test request attribute value. I havent used requestScope so far. Is requestScope the option to get the request value? pls help.Thanks in advance.

I am required to do it this way so I cannot deviate on these ways. How do I set two variables equal to the whole character array that is passed through?

  • A step-up from TiddlyWiki that is still 100% portable?

    TiddlyWiki is a great idea, brilliantly implemented. I'm using it as a portable personal "knowledge manager," and these are the prize virtues: It travels on my USB flash memory stick and runs on any computer, regardless of operating system No software installation is needed on the computer (TiddlyWiki merely uses the Internet browser) No Internet connection is needed In terms of data retrieval functionality, it mimics a relational database (use of tags and internal links) Let's say I've got a million words of prose in 4,000 tiddlers (posts). I'm still testing, but it looks like TiddlyWiki gets very slow. Is there an app like TiddlyWiki that keeps all the virtues I listed above, and allows more storage? NOTE: Separation of content and presentation would be ideal. It's nifty that TiddlyWiki has everything in a single HTML document, but it's unhelpful in many ways. I don't care if a directory of assorted docs is needed (SQLite, XML?), as long as it's functionally self-contained.

  • Redmine on Apache2 with Passenger issue

    I installed Redmine and run it in Apache2 with the Passenger module. Apache2 boots, Passenger module gets loaded and the Redmine welcome page is shown, however when trying to login or navigate to other parts of the Redmine site, the browser keeps loading and loading and loading forever, although the Redmine production.log indicates redirects and HTTP 200 codes in the header, so everything seems to work correctly according to the log. I tested in various browsers. Does anyone have an idea what could be wrong? I will add apache configuration and some relevant log snippets from both apache and redmine hereafter.     Summary I'm attempting to create an AWS CloudFormation template which contains an instance for which I want to select a particular subnet. If I specify the subnet ID then I get the following error The parameter groupName cannot be used with the parameter subnet. From reading this thread it appears I need to provide security group IDs - not names. How can I create a security group in CloudFormation and then get its ID after the fact?     Installed Zabbix on Ubuntu but not sure what setting I missed. Base on my concept, I would like to using SNMP to monitoring DD-WRT router which it using SNMP service. I did enable to SNMP service at DD-WRT router page. And also created a host at Zabbix with included DD-WRT template. After I done it I still unable to get any connection/information at Zabbix which mean the router doesn't communicate with Zabbix. While I was browsing a while ago for a curriculum vitae template. I saw this image on google that looks like one. I click it but then it brought me to a site with a red mark in Wot, and wot doesn't even bother to inform me first that the site is dangerous. Do you know of any alternatives?

    Hi, i created a vps on vps.net and installed CentOS 5.4 x64 LAMP , i choosed the root password and the server start running, i added my domain name in the vps domain section, also i added the two name servers on where i bought the domain name. the problem is that i still can't access the domain, so i think that's because a mistake in the DNS template that is created automatically by the vps provider, here is it : TYPE | NAME | TARGET | MX PRIORITY | ACTIONS ------------------------------------------------------------------- OA @ dns1.vps.net.     Default blue background and white text in Microsoft Word. I have just moved to Word 2010 (Student Version now released) and although it is possible to create individual documents with a blue background it is not possible to set the program with a blue background as a default. I understand this was discontinued with Office 2007. The only way I can open a document with a blue background is to create a Template with a blue background and use that for each document I wish to create. I'm sure there must be a method of hacking the registry to accomplish this. Can you assist. There must be countless people who who they knew how.

    We have observed some puzzling behavior from the CAs we have set up in both the past and present. For some reason unknown to us, it seems that our CAs are randomly issuing "Basic EFS" certificates to our users. This is evident through the "Issued Certificates" log on the CA. I personally set up a CA yesterday, and the instant that I installed certificate services it started dishing out Basic EFS certs to our users. They seem to be issued at random times: 1:51am, 2:20am, then 7:54am, then 8:03am... etc I looked at the certificate template for Basic EFS and there isn't even an option for Autoenrollment, so I'm seriously in a state of "WTF?!"... Can anyone clue me in as to why my CA has a mind of its own? Do CAs tend to become self-aware and lash out at their owners? Please help...

With the following script reset the ALTER TABLE INVOICES AUTO_INCREMENT = 50000; When I wrote an Insert Script to insert data in SQLDBX, it is putting the invoice_number from 50000. But when i am trying to do insert a record using the application(web application), the invoice_number value is starting from 1. We are making use of Spring-JDBC template to insert data into mysql database.

  • Anonymous user permission issue in SharePoint Server

    Hello everyone, I am using SharePoint Server 2007 x64 and Windows Server 2008 x64. I have setup a site with template publishing portal. I have grant anonymous access to all the site. My question is, if I create a new page, how to grant permission to anonymous user to access (read permission) the page? I got this confusion because, for the permission setting of a page, a permission is set according to a user name (e.g. read permission for user "foo" of a page). Since anonymous user does not have a related "user name", how could I grant read permission to anonymous user? BTW: I use Windows Forms authentication and Windows NTLM authentication for my sites.   • Word2007 - Preventing mid-item line breaks in a list in a table

    It's not programming, but it's the paperwork you have to fill out ot get things to program. When you have a list with an item that's two lines long, and text above pushes it down such that a page break should fall between the two lines, Word pushes the item down so that both lines are on the following page - this is called Widow/Orphan Control and is an option on the Paragraph menu. When the list is inside of a table cell, however, this feature doesn't seem to work - which is what I'm looking to work around. Word doesn't push the item down automatically, so it breaks across two pages, as seen here: Solutions that have been tried: Playing with the options on the Paragraph tab: doesn't seem to do anything Changing the margins or text: this is a template and will need to always work Any ideas?

  • Fragile XenServer won't create new VDIs anymore

    I'm getting increasingly frustrated with XenServer. Currently I'm using 5.6FP1 and it seems to be very fragile. Canceling any VDI-related action almost guarantees trouble. This time I tried to create a new VM using a snapshot for a template, with the fast disk cloning option disabled. It would take much longer than I was able and willing to keep my XenCenter open, so I canceled it. That took ages too, so I had to decide to "Quit Anyway." Since, I seem unable to create any new VDI. New attempts at cloning halt with "The attempt to clone the VDI failed," and creating new VMs based on built-in templates hang at "Provisioning." I'm in need of some advice how to solve this. What I did so far is run a xe vdi-list, which returned nothing odd to me, but I'm no expert. I assume that an incomplete VDI is blocking my Storage Repository somehow, however, how to deal with that remains unclear.

So instead of subject "mdadm monitoring" it wished to be "mdadm monitoring from «IP ADDRESS»" or like that.
