• CheckboxList not setting Selected with Viewstate

  I have a CheckboxList that seems to load and do everything right, except for when I do a postback, it will not have the Item.Selected property set. I have viewstate disabled for the entire page. I load it like so(inside Page_Load on every load): foreach (DataRow service in d.Tables[0].Rows) { cblServices.Items.Add(new ListItem((string)service["description"], service["id"].ToString())); } My markup is simple: <asp:CheckBoxList runat="server" ID="cblServices" Width="300px"></asp:CheckBoxList> and then, I use basically something like this(in a _Click serverside event for a button) foreach(ListItem item in cblServices.Items){ if(item.Selected){ MyLabel.Text+="selected: "+item.Value+item.Text; } } and MyLabel never has any text added to it. I can verify with the debugger that it does reach the _Click's foreach loop, but no item is ever selected. What could be the cause of this?

• TextField - behave like PowerPoint

  I have a Dynamic TextField created with ActionScript (multiline, wordwrap & autosize=true). While running the SWF, if you click into the TextField you get an arrow "move" cursor, then you can double-click to put it into Edit mode to select text. I want it to work like PowerPoint - if you click into the box you'll always get a flashing cursor with the ability to select/insert text, and you can click on the borders to drag, or the corners to resize. I tried adding the focusIn event textField.stage.focus = this.textField but this didn't seem to do anything. When you click into the textField, I basically want it to act as though you followed with a double-click (Edit mode) without actually having to do the double-click. Bonus: and instead of a 2nd double-click returning you to the Move mode (or whatever it's called) I want to select all text. TL;DR: Is there some property of a Dynamic TextField that I can get/set to see if I'm in Edit or Move mode?

  I've added a CKEditor instance programmatically to my page in the code-behind of my ASP.NET page: VB.NET: itemEditor = New CkEditor cell.Controls.Add(itemEditor) ... which works fine. I can get the HTML on the postback and do stuff with it. However, I also want to do some client-side stuff with it, specifically take a selected item out of another control, and insert it into the text by handling the onchange event.   Hello all. I have a serious problem in my flex client applications. I have an apache server with php web services. the flex client makes an httpservice requests. I noticed that the httpservice requests that runs from the creationComplete event of the application does not always get data from the server. but HTTPservice requests called from user actions always work. • Changing the cursor in asp.net

  I want to change the cursor to an hourglass in my asp.net application to let my users know that the process is running. I searched for an answer and was advised to use javascript as follows. 1) Add this javascript function hourglass() { document.body.style.cursor = "wait"; } 2) then in my code in the page load event: btnImport.Attributes.Add("onclick", "javascript: hourglass();"); When btnImport is the button they click on However this does not work.   I'm having a problem with the Scripting Bridge framework in 10.5. • Windows Server 2003 Hacked - Files Being Uploaded

  Blank directories are being created on my Windows Server 2003 virtual server with sub directories that are weird (for example: "88ÿ ÿ ÿÿþþ þþ13þ"). It looks like they are uploading bootlegged DVDs and pirated software. All of my bandwidth and file space is being eaten up. Could this be a shared permissions issue? Where should I look to further investigate this? My security permissions for the directory that is being hit are as followed: Administrators - ALL GRANTED IIS_WPG - Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read Internet Guest - DENY SYSTEM - ALL GRANTED Users - Read & Execute, List Folder Contents, Read My Event Viewer is showing many Logon/Logoff with NO IP?

  I'm trying to change the fillColor of a CAShapeLayer when the layer it's contained in is touched. I'm able to change the background color of the tapped layer like this: -(void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { CALayer *layer = [(CALayer *)self.view.layer.presentationLayer hitTest:point]; layer = layer.modelLayer; layer.backgroundColor = [UIColor blueColor].CGColor; } This turns the background of "layer" blue as expected.   Hey, I've created a site with CSS that requires the :focus pseudo class. I change the 'filter' and 'background-image' effects when a textbox is selected (i.e. has focus). This works in Chrome/FF, but doesn't seem to work in IE8 (and, presumable, previous versions if IE). I tried to look for answers, and have tried to use :active - but that doesn't work. Is there a way of changing attributes such as 'filter' using psuedo-classes? Failing that, can I do it in JS with the OnClick event? Thanks

• RichTextBox doesn't update caret position correctly

  I have a handler consuming the keyDown event of a WinForms RTB, that has the following code: GetTextAtLoc(RTB->SelectionStart); // selects some text at the caret's position RTB->SelectedText = "SomeOfMyOwn"; GetTextAtLoc(RTB->SelectionStart); // selects the replacement string RTB->SelectionStart += RTB->SelectionLength - 1; While this code seems to do its job (SelectionStart/Length properties are updated correctly), the caret doesn't move to the end of the new string - It says right where it was at the time of GetTextAtLoc's first call. Redrawing the textbox does seem to have any effect either.

• How can I pause a BackgroundWorker? Or something similar...

  I was using a BackgroundWorker to download some web sites by calling WebClient.DownloadString inside a loop. I wanted the option for the user to cancel in the middle of downloading stuff, so I called CancelAsync whenever I found that CancellationPending was on in the middle of the loop. But now I noticed that the function DownloadString kinda freezes sometimes, so I decided to use DownloadStringAsync instead (all this inside the other thread created with BackgroundWorker). An since and don't want to rewrite my whole code by having to exit the loop and the function after calling DownloadStringAsync, I made a while loop right after calling it that does nothing but checks for a variable bool Stop that I turn true either when the DownloadStringCompleted event handler is called or when the user request to cancel the operation. Now, the weird thing is that it works fine on the debug version, but on the release one, the program freezes in the while loop like if it were the main thread.

• Changing drag cursor in VirtualTreeView

  When using VirtualTreeView drag operation by default is [doCopy,doMove]. Move operation is indicated by arrow pointer with small box and Copy operation is indicated by same pointer icon but with added [+] next to it. By default VT uses copy operation and if you press modifier key (SHIFT key) it modifies operation to move therefore removing the [+] from pointer. Here is what I need: reverse the operations (default would be move, with modifier key pressed - copy) and thus reverse pointer arrow too replace modifier key - CTRL instead of SHIFT read in an event which of the two operations occurred and start copy or move operation Any pointers into right direction(s) appreciated.

  Hello, I tried searching on stackoverflow for an answer to my question but couldn't seem to find anything relevant. Since I'm relatively new to Silverlight, I'm not even sure if this is possible, but I am trying to figure out if it is possible to set a Silverlight textbox control's width value proportionally to it's immediate parent container? It would be nice to avoid hard coding a width value. Say you want to place a textbox control inside a horizontally aligned StackPanel control and have it's width always dynamically adjusted to be 80% of the total width of the StackPanel. Is this possible to do declaratively in your xaml markup, or will I need to resort to some codebehind attached to some event handler to accomplish this? fyi, I am currently using Visual Web Developer Express 2008 to write my silverlight code. thanks in advance, John

• How to disable multitouch?

  My app has several buttons which trigger different events. The user should NOT be able to hold down several buttons. Anyhow, holding down several buttons crashes the app. And so, I'm trying to disable multi-touch in my app. I've unchecked 'Multiple Touch' in all the xib files, and as far as I can work out, the properties 'multipleTouchEnabled' and 'exclusiveTouch' control whether the view uses multitouch. So in my applicationDidFinishLaunching I've put this: self.mainViewController.view.multipleTouchEnabled=NO; self.mainViewController.view.exclusiveTouch =YES; And in each of my view controllers I've put this in the viewDidLoad self.view.multipleTouchEnabled=NO; self.view.exclusiveTouch=YES; However, it still accepts multiple touches. I could do something like disable other buttons after getting a touch down event, but this would be an ugly hack. Surely there is a way to properly disable multi-touch?

How would something like this be done with jQuery? I know there's .bind and .trigger, but it seems like the only way to do this is to bind/fire events to the window object: $(window).bind('volumeChanged', fn); Is there anything better than this, more like the MooTools approach? • Detecting a Key Press Squashed by Another Application

  I have a WPF application I'm planning to use as an overlay for a DirectX game (specifically Bad Company 2). I'm using WM_KEYBOARD_LL hook to detect KeyDown events so I can bring my app to the foreground when a specific button is pressed. This works perfectly except for when the game is running (I've also noticed this problem with Window's "Chess Titans" so it may be a DirectX thing). As far as I can work out, when the game detects a keyboard press, it "eats" the event and doesn't pass the CallNextHookEx() method like it should, which would allow the key press message to be moved along to the next application in the queue. I'm wondering if there's any sort of work-around to this? It seems kind of unfair that a single application can just willy-nilly eat up messages like that.   I'm working on an audio-intensive app for the iPhone. I'm currently calling a number of different functions for each sample I need to calculate. For example, I have an envelope class. When I calculate a sample, I do something like: sampleValue = oscilator->tic() * envelope->tic(); But I could also do something like: for(int i = 0; i < bufferLength; i++){ buffer[i] = oscilatorBuffer[i] * evelopeBuffer[i]; } I know the second will be more efficient, but don't know by how much. Are function calls expensive enough that I'd be crazy not to use buffers if I care event a tiny bit about performance?

• Flex - prevent dragging for certain items

  Hi troops, how would you prevent dragging for some items of your List or DataGrid? Let's say I had a list with two items: 'Tom' and 'Jerry'. Only 'Tom' should be dragable, not 'Jerry'. Ideally I had a 'isDragEnabled(item:Object):Boolean' function, which is being queried by the drag source. My difficulties start with the fact that the 'dragStart' event handler has a null value for the dragSource, so right from the start I find it hard to find out what the drag-start is about.. Thanks in advance! PS There have been a few discussions on preventing or canceling a drop, but I haven't seen much about preventing the drag start, hence this question.
