• QT Question - What are all these extra spaces for ? (pic provided)

  stack overflow wont let me post images so heres the link: http://4m0.org/images/qt.png This is my application. For this question, ignore the top part with the buttons. I have a QScrollArea Filled with many QGroupBoxes Filled with a horizontal box layout of QLabel (on the left) and QGroupBox (on the right) The right side is a vertical box layout of QPushButtons Every single element, the scrollarea, both boxes, the labels, and the buttons all have their style sheets modified so padding is 0px and margin is 0px. Why do i have all this extra space? The scroll area has space on all sides until its inner elements (the blue boxes) start. Then those boxes have space until its inner elements (the white boxes) start. Can someone tell me what is going on?

• IE 7 CSS problem with detecting mouse over on div

  I have a div inside an li as part of a top navigation for a website. I'm having trouble with IE 7 having "holes" in the box such that the drop down disappears when the user is still on the drop down. I started with a pure CSS solution (li:hover) and that works awesome in all browsers except IE 7. So I've now added a jQuery/javascript solution to detect when the mouse enters and exits the nav li and then add a class to show the drop down. It works better, but if the mouse is not over an image, p, h3, or a tag then it doesn't think I'm over the div that is the drop down. Very frustrating. I can post some test code, but the issue can be viewed here: http://davincidays.org/ Anyone have any ideas? I've been working on this for waaaay too long already and need some fresh things to try.

• Map works, but throws a popup error at load complainig about wrong api key

  Ok, I see a lot of people have this problem, but none answer I found either here or at stackoverflow. Problem: Map works super fine! But throws an error at load "This map needs a different api key... sign up at......" Already signed up, already got a key. On some forum post a guy told that in this case map loads twice, once with the wrong key, another with the right one. But Im sure my app loads it once and with the correct key.   I need to add scripting layer to my android App. So I can remotely prepare a script that my app download form a web service and execute on the user device. I found a interesting project called Scripting Layer for Android (SL4A) here: http://code.google.com/p/android-scripting/ I'm not sure I can execute Python script without installing the PythonForAndroid_r4.apk first. I can't force my customer to install that application! So my question is, can the SL4A layer be integrated in my app without the need to install other apk? I need to execute actions like update data in the DB, create/read/delete a file on the sd card... Not so complex but I see SL4A can do a lot of things like these. Other scripting libraries? EDIT: Found also MVEL: http://mvel.codehaus.org/ but I think it needs to be integrated to execute complex operations like accessing a DB...

• I can't use achiva as a proxy of my remote repository

  I want to install Achiva to manage my Maven repositories. I add a new internal repository called "public" and a new remote repository, which is my company's repository. Then I configure the proxy connector to let the repository "public" to be a proxy of the remote one. But When I enter the address "http://localhost:8084/archiva/repository/public/.../....pom" in the web brower,error occurred "Unable to fetch artifact resource". However, if I replace the remote repository with another one such as "http://repository.codehaus.org/", the proxy works. I don't know why this happens, are there something wrong with my remote repository address?

  In the Hypertext Transfer Protocol 1.1 spec, it states for the Location header: The field value consists of a single absolute URI. Location = "Location" ":" absoluteURI An example is: Location: http://www.w3.org/pub/WWW/People.html I have coded many an app that doesn't include the scheme and domain (i.e., /thankyou/) and every browser I've ever tested with redirects correctly. I'm wondering if it's imperative to go back and change all my redirect code or just ignore this part of the spec. Have many of you produced code that doesn't comply and will you go back and change it? Or will you just trust that clients will continue to resolve them well into the future? (going forward I will certainly adhere to this)

• Using CMake with Eclipse CDT, quickly switch targets?

  I'm using the CDT4 - MinGW Makefiles generator. Project-Build All successfully builds the target (a shared library) but it seems I would have to (A) open a project settings page and type in the target, hoping it's spelled right*, or (B) run make from a terminal to "build" the install and package targets. I noticed a promising Project-Make Target entry, but the Create... and Build... sub-entries are greyed-out. • Ubuntu Wired network(ethernet does not work)

  It was working just fine, until the other day I yanked it out. The wireless works just fine on the same router. If I login to a windows 7 instance on this dual boot laptop then the ehternet works just fine. So it's not a hardware, cable or router issue. The card even gets an ip, but I can't connect to the internet. Here are the details from route, iptables, ifconfig, ping etc. Any ideas? • PHP and C# communication with Encrypt/Decrypt

  Hello, I have been searching and cant find a consistent solution to my problem : I want to encrypt something in C# and decrypt it in PHP but also be able to encrypt in PHP and decrypt in C#, using the same key on both ends. All the solutions I found dont seem to work both ways, most of them only work on one language and then fail on the other, either by decrypting wrong or by blowing up the offsets. I would like to use TripleDES but it isnt a requirement, just want something relatively strong for plain text communication (will either use JSON or just plain key-value pairs for complex stuff). • grailsApplication not getting injected in a service , Grails 2.1.0

  I have service in which i am accessing few configuration properties from grailsApplication I am injecting it like this class MyWebService{ def grailsApplication WebService webService = new WebService() def getProxy(url, flag){ return webService.getClient(url) } def getResponse(){ def proxy = getProxy(grailsApplication.config.grails.wsdlURL, true) def response = proxy.getItem(ItemType) return response } } When i call getProxy() method, i see this in tomcat logs No signature of method: org.example.MyWebService.getProxy() is applicable for argument types: (groovy.util.ConfigObject, java.lang.Boolean) values: [[:], true] Possible solutions: getProxy(), getProxy(java.lang.String, boolean), setProxy(java.lang.Object) which means grailsApplication is not getting injected into the service, is there any alternate way to access configuration object ? according to burtbeckwith's post configurationholder has been deprecated, can't think of anything else. Interestingly the very same service works fine in my local IDE(GGTS 3.1.0), that means locally grailsApplication is getting injected, but when i create a war to deploy to a standalone tomcat, it stops getting injected.

• Is JSONRequest a global Javascript object ?

  My goal is to asynchronously call a URL via POST request (REST Webservice) to increment a statistic on one of my object. I am a newby web developper and I discovered JSON yesterday. Since JSON seems a lot popular and handy I went to www.json.org and discovered a JSONRequest object which seems to able one to send POST/GET request asynchronously but I can't get it work. Is it a global Javascript object or do I need to add some files ? I am a little bit confused since I've found a Firefox plugin extension for JSONRequest but I don't understand its purpose.

• How to split the chance to display SWFs evenly among banner collection?

  Hi all: I am working on The ausdcf.org to try adding several banner ads in swf format to the top. Everything starts to work, but I've got several questions that need your help: The client chose not to go with Google AdManager, but prefer a "minimal approach" to do this task. What I am trying to do is sort of "mimicking" the way Google AdManager does for banners, that is, to split the chance of each particular swf to be shown to the visitor evenly among the banner collection. Definitely I can add some jQuery code to do this from client-side, a random number generator and if-else statement would work - just $.load() it! However, what if I'd like to make sure those disabled Javascript (is there any now btw?) still be able to see different swfs in each visit. Any suggestion on how to approach this?   Hello everyone, In my code, all of the scripts are contained in .js files. Whenever one of the scripts contains an error, I get this: javax.script.ScriptException: sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.EcmaError: ReferenceError: "nonexistant" is not defined. (<Unknown source>#5) in <Unknown source> at line number 5 What bugs me is the <Unknown Source>. Multiple files are in one ScriptContext, and it can be hard to track down an error. It also looks horrible. Is there a way to replace <Unknown Source> with the actual file name? None of the methods I see support passing a File object, so I'm really confused here.

I am trying to figure out if it possible to rejoin the branches (and not just for the last step.) e.g. Based on the inputs to Step 1, I'd like to present the user with a different step 2. However, after step 2, the remaining steps (step 3, 4, 5, etc.) should all be the same. How can this be done? Thanks!
