• IE8 ignores margin-top any idea why ?

  i have two divs one floated to the left and the other to the right and after them i have added a div with style clear:both after that i have an other div with a margin-top : 35px the margin is shown as expected in IE7 FF Chrome and opera but can't see it on IE8 any ideas ?

• How do I detect what software is using the webcam on a Windows box (XP,Vista,7)

  The idea is that I want to build a small app that detects if the webcam is being used and by what. I have thought about seeing who has use of the Twain.dll somehow (like the way process explorer knows) It's for a security style app that picks out weird webcam behaviour. Ideally I would use C# as it's my strong point, but I'm guessing it won't be that nice.

  I know I am going about this in an unusual way, every tut I've seen uses multiple tables, but due to the way the rest of my site works I would like to create a chained select which operates using a single table. • jQuery image loop not displaying any images

  I'm trying to create a very basic image gallery in jQuery. The goal is to have 3 images fade in and out in a sequential order. So image 1 is displayed, fades to image 2 etc. then the whole thing loops again.   Is there any guidance on creating apps that will run on both professional (touch-screen) and standard (non-touch-screen) devices. I have a simple application that is mostly text and buttons that in theory should be able to run on both professional and standard devices with little if any modification. I think it is not possible by checking the css class, as some other style may overwrite the styles of the class which has been assinged to that text. Actually I want to know the browser assigned font-size to the text of the page, as we can do it in firebug on firefox. Any help would be appreciated.

  Problem: I want to make iPhone OS 2.1 apps, but Xcode now always makes automatically an iPhone OS 3.0 project. I forgot about it and now I have an app which I want to test on my iPod touch, but I need to build OS 2.1. Is there a way to get this working? The dropdown from top left in Xcode only offers to build for OS 3.0 device. However, when I open old projects, there I have OS 2.1 available.

  I'm curious if anyone still creates icons other than RGB/A (or 32-bit with alpha-channel) for your Windows apps? PS. I know that suggested model is to create 256-color versions of icons, but I always struggle with those. If I automatically convert them in an icon editor they totally decimate the look of my original icons with jagged edges and circa-Windows95 look. So if those are still required, does anyone know the stats on how many people are still using color settings other then 32-bit TrueColor?
