  • How can a WPF StackPanel fill vertically from bottom to top?

    I need to be able to fill a stackpanel with buttons but the buttons must appear at the bottom of the stackpanel first and populate upwards. The buttons are created dynamically and there's an unknown number of them so visual hackery just won't work. I've tried experimenting with vertical alignments but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

  • Visualization in "VisIt"

    Hi, Did any one over here work in "VisIt" visualization software? I have a dataset where the x, y, z coordinates are stored in separate bin files, i don't know how to visualize these files in VisIt, which would be the best file format to use. Till now, we were using Advanced Visual System (AVS) .fld files to read the data in AVS, now we have to switch to VisIt, don't know how to do it. Would appreciate if anyone can give some pointers in this direction.

  • SharePoint 2007 Approval Workflow - Any other person can approve requirement

    How can I use SharePoint's Content Approval to enforce the rule that any two people in a group can make a change? We have a policy library that any two individuals can update (a modifier and an approver). If I do a group parallel approval, the modifier can approve their own work (I believe). Unfortunately, I don't have access to Visual Studio or even SharePoint Designer (as these have been disabled by corporate).

    I lack understanding of some basic MVC concepts, despite all my searching. I created an MVC project in Visual Studio, which contains the partial view _LogOnPartial.shtml. I just want to access information within the view pertaining to the user, to put in a user dropdown menu. When I try to put this at the top of the partial view cshtml page I get the above error: @model MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository When I try this I also get an error: @Html.Partial("_LogOnPartial", MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository) 'MyProject_MVC.Models.UserRepository' is a 'type', which is not valid in the given context

Its weird but I haven't seen so many popular light themes (white background). Does anyone knows a light Vim scheme which makes code more readable and pleasant to see? (that makes code less confusing to distinguish, something like Visual studio's default scheme?)

  • What Windows app can sort a huge XML file?

    I have some enormous XML-based configuration files, with 125000 lines in them. The problem is that they are auto-generated by the system I use, and "child" tags are in a random order within their respective parent tag. This means that a diff comparison is impossible. I want to recursively sort all tags within a parent tag by the value in name="". Some parent tags only appear once and don't have a name="" parameter; these should be sorted by the tag name itself. Once the files are sorted like this, they can be compared quite easily using normal tools. We are currently using ExamXML which can match unsorted XML files, but it fails because the files are too big. Is there an application that can do this? (Windows much preferred; Linux only as a last resort) I do not want to dive into development or XSLT jobs. I am thinking that someone must have made a simple sorting tool like this already - I just can't find it using Google.     Ok, so I was perusing the mono site and noticed there are Novell tools I can purchase for Visual Studio that will let me choose to compile in Mono? My confusion is, if I am using a tool set such as MVC 2 and other Frameworks, and I use those tools to compile to mono, how exactly does that play into things? I mean don't those tool sets need to be recompiled using Mono?

  • Cross-browser method for hiding page elements until all content is loaded to prevent layout from appearing broken during load?

    I have an issue where due to some elements loading faster than others, the page looks broken for a few seconds at the start. An example is the CSS Pie behavior that allows me to do curved corners in IE, it appears before it becomes curved which looks bad. What would be ideal would be it somehow knowing when everything is loaded and then appear all at once, possibly including some kind of elegant visual way of not making the user feel impatient... any ideas or common tricks for doing this?

    When I try to export the following function as a dll: extern "C" __declspec(dllexport) void some_func() { throw std::runtime_error("test throwing exception"); } Visual C++ 2008 gives me the following warning: 1>.\SampleTrainer.cpp(11) : warning C4297: 'some_func' : function assumed not to throw an exception but does 1> The function is extern "C" and /EHc was specified I need to extern "C" because I use Qt QLibrary to load the dll and resolve the function name. Without extern "C" it can't find the some_func() function.

  • [Flex] Caching canvas into ByteArray

    Task: (all in code, not visual) create a canvas, place into it some labels and draw some lines, then cache it as byteArray. The problem is that if I cache an object that is already drawed on the screen, it works great, but if I cache a canvas, that have been created few lines earlier, this results white image. Is there any solution to cache a display object, that was created in code, but not intended to be displayed at all?

Specifically: Address space layout randomization (ASLR) Heap randomization Stack randomization The article went on to say that "...some of these defenses are in the core operating system, and the Microsoft Visual C++ compiler offers others" but didn't explain how these strategies would actually increase security. Anyone know why memory randomization increases security, if at all? Do other platforms and compilers employ similar strategies?
