I've a master table with identity on for the primary key and I've some child tables. When I insert a record to the master table using BCP, how can I use the newly created ID from the master table to insert in the related child tables (May be BCP again)? Will it be possible? I may be able to set identity off, but, will it work? Thanks Joseph

  • Trouble with a query

    - by Mark Allison
Hi there, I'm having trouble with a query in SQL Server 2008 on some forex trading data. I have a trades table and an orders table. A trade needs to comprise of 2 or more orders. DDL schema and sample data below. What I want to do is write a query that shows the profit/loss in pips for each trade. A pip is 1/1000th of a currency. So the difference between USD 1.3441 and 1.3442 is 1 pip in forex-speak. A trade usually has one entry order and multiple exit orders. So for example if I buy 3 lots of the currency pair GBP/USD at the exchange rate of 1.6100 and then sell 1 lot at 1.6150, 1 lot at 1.6200 and 1 lot at 1.6250 then the profit is (1.6150 - 1.6100) + (1.6200 - 1.6100) + (1.6250 - 1.6100), or 50 + 100 + 150 = 300 pips profit. The trade could also go the other way (Shorting). For example the currency pair can be sold first before it's bought back later at a cheaper price. I would like a query that returns the following: tradeId, currencyPair, profitInPips It seems like a pretty straightforward query, but it's eluding me right now. Here's my DDL and sample data: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[trades]( [tradeId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [currencyPair] [char](6) NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_trades] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [tradeId] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] GO SET ANSI_PADDING OFF GO SET IDENTITY_INSERT • delta-dictionary/dictionary with revision awareness in python?

    - by shabbychef
I am looking to create a dictionary with 'roll-back' capabilities in python. The dictionary would start with a revision number of 0, and the revision would be bumped up only by explicit method call. I do not need to delete keys, only add and update key, value pairs, and then roll back. I will never need to 'roll forward', that is, when rolling the dictionary back, all the newer revisions can be discarded, and I can start re-reving up again. thus I want behaviour like: >>> rr = rev_dictionary() >>> rr.rev 0 >>> rr["a"] = 17 >>> rr[('b',23)] = 'foo' >>> rr["a"] 17 >>> rr.rev 0 >>> rr.roll_rev() >>> rr.rev 1 >>> rr["a"] 17 >>> rr["a"] = 0 >>> rr["a"] 0 >>> rr[('b',23)] 'foo' >>> rr.roll_to(0) >>> rr.rev 0 >>> rr["a"] 17 >>> rr.roll_to(1) Exception ... Just to be clear, the state associated with a revision is the state of the dictionary just prior to the roll_rev() method call. thus if I can alter the value associated with a key several times 'within' a revision, and only have the last one remembered. I would like a fairly memory-efficient implementation of this: the memory usage should be proportional to the deltas. Thus simply having a list of copies of the dictionary will not scale for my problem. One should assume the keys are in the tens of thousands, and the revisions are in the hundreds of thousands. We can assume the values are immutable, but need not be numeric. For the case where the values are e.g. integers, there is a fairly straightforward implementation (have a list of dictionaries of the numerical delta from revision to revision). I am not sure how to turn this into the general form. Maybe bootstrap the integer version and add on an array of values? all help appreciated.

  • WPF TextBox DataBind on EnterKey press

    - by Jobi Joy
The default DataBinding on TextBox is TwoWay and it commits the text to the Property only when TextBox lost its focus. Is there any easy XAML way exists to make the DataBinding Happens when I press Enter Key on the TextBox?. I know it is pretty easy to do in the code behind, but imagine if this textBox is inside some complex DataTemplate.

  • Getting State of Modifier Keys Compact Framework

    - by CDM
How can I get the state of a modifier key using VB.NET on the Compact Framework, in this case Windows Mobile 6.1. I want to be able to determine if the following keys are pressed or locked: Shift CTRL ALT and for the Psion Teklogix machines Orange Blue Although I may be able to work this out, if I can determine the others. I want to create my own on-screen indicator panel and want to poll the keys, not using events. Thanks Colin

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your input.

  • Changing a column collation

    - by Stefan
Hey there, I have a database already set up. I am trying to change the collation to case sensitive on my username column so it restricts login parameters to what they signed up with. However I keep getting this: #1025 - Error on rename of './yebutno_ybn/#sql-76dc_8581dc' to './yebutno_ybn/user' (errno: 150) there is foreign key constraints due to related tables.... any ideas? this will save me a lot of hassle with the php side of things! Thanks, Stefan

  • PyCharm: How to skip over closing braces / brackets / parentheses?

    - by Withnail
This is driving me nuts. I can't get the auto-indentations to work properly unless I use the automatic closing of braces, et al (which I don't like), and I see no option allowing one to skip over/out. Eclipse has a configuration option for this, and Visual Studio doesn't auto-close everything by default, but rather formats the code block after manually entering the closing brace (which I think is perfect). Surely there's something apart from going all the way over to the "End" key?

  • Cannot create a row of size 8074 which is greater than the allowable maximum row size of 8060.

    - by Lieven Cardoen
I have already asked a question about this, but the problems keeps on hitting me ;-) I have two tables that are identical. I want to add a xml column. In the first table this is no problem, but in the second table I get the sqlException (title). However, apart from the data in it, they are the same. So, can I get the sqlException because of data in the table? I have also tried to store the field off page with EXEC sp_tableoption 'dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished', 'large value types out of row', 1 but without any succes. The same SqlException keeps coming. First table: PackageSessionNodes CREATE TABLE [dbo].[PackageSessionNodes]( [PackageSessionNodeId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [PackageSessionId] [int] NOT NULL, [TreeNodeId] [int] NOT NULL, [Duration] [int] NULL, [Score] [float] NOT NULL, [ScoreMax] [float] NOT NULL, [Interactions] [xml] NOT NULL, [BrainTeaser] [bit] NULL, [DateCreated] [datetime] NULL, [CompletionStatus] [int] NOT NULL, [ReducedScore] [float] NOT NULL, [ReducedScoreMax] [float] NOT NULL, [ContentInteractions] [xml] NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_PackageSessionNodes] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [PackageSessionNodeId] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] Second table: PackageSessionNodesFinished CREATE TABLE [dbo].[PackageSessionNodesFinished]( [PackageSessionNodeFinishedId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [PackageSessionId] [int] NOT NULL, [TreeNodeId] [int] NOT NULL, [Duration] [int] NULL, [Score] [float] NOT NULL, [ScoreMax] [float] NOT NULL, [Interactions] [xml] NOT NULL, [BrainTeaser] [bit] NULL, [DateCreated] [datetime] NULL, [CompletionStatus] [int] NOT NULL, [ReducedScore] [float] NOT NULL, [ReducedScoreMax] [float] NOT NULL, [ContentInteractions] [xml] NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_PackageSessionNodesFinished] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [PackageSessionNodeFinishedId] ASC )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] First script I tried to run (First two ALTER TABLE work fine, the third crashes on SqlException) ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodes ADD ContentInteractions xml NOT NULL CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodes_ContentInteractions DEFAULT (('<contentinteractions/>')); ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodes DROP CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodes_ContentInteractions ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished ADD ContentInteractions xml NOT NULL CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodesFinished_ContentInteractions DEFAULT (('<contentinteractions/>')); ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished DROP CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodesFinished_ContentInteractions Second script I tried to run with the same result as previous script: EXEC sp_tableoption 'dbo.PackageSessionNodes', 'large value types out of row', 1 ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodes ADD ContentInteractions xml NOT NULL CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodes_ContentInteractions DEFAULT (('<contentinteractions/>')); ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodes DROP CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodes_ContentInteractions EXEC sp_tableoption 'dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished', 'large value types out of row', 1 ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished ADD ContentInteractions xml NOT NULL CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodesFinished_ContentInteractions DEFAULT (('<contentinteractions/>')); ALTER TABLE dbo.PackageSessionNodesFinished DROP CONSTRAINT DF_PackageSessionNodesFinished_ContentInteractions Now, In PackageSessionNodes there are 234 records, in PackageSessionNodesFinished there are 4256946 records. I know I can do this to blank it: <forms xmu:key="loginUrl" loginUrl="/redirecttosignin.aspx" name="" /> But, I literally want to get the name attribute out, and leave the other attributes in tact. • Set attributes from dictionary in python

Is it possible to create an object from a dictionary in python in such a way that each key is an attribute of that object? Something like this: dict = { 'name': 'Oscar', 'lastName': 'Reyes', 'age':32 } e = Employee( dict ) print e.name # Oscar print e.age + 10 # 42 I think it would be pretty much the inverse of this question: Python dictionary from an object's fields

I have the categories echoed inside the while loop so I'm not sure why it's only showing one result and not all: <?php $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM categories_parent"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $id = $row['id']; $name = $row['name']; $slug = $row['slug']; $childStatus = $row['child_status']; // if has child categories if ($childStatus == "1") { echo "<li class='dir'><a href='category.php?slug=$slug'>$name</a>"; echo "<ul id='dropdown'>"; $query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM categories_child WHERE parent=$id"); while ($row = mysql_fetch_assoc($query)) { $id = $row['id']; $name = $row['name']; $slug = $row['slug']; echo "<li><a href='category.php?slug=$slug'>$name</a></li>"; } echo "</ul>"; echo "</li>"; } // if singular parent else { echo "<li><a href='category.php?slug=$slug'>$name</a></li>"; } } ?> My database tables: -- -- Table structure for table `categories_child` -- CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `categories_child` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `slug` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `parent` int(11) NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=139 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `categories_child` -- INSERT INTO `categories_child` (`id`, `name`, `slug`, `parent`) VALUES (138, 'Britney Spears', 'category/celiberties/britney-spears/', 137), (136, 'Tigers', 'category/animals/tigers/', 136), (137, 'Horses', 'category/animals/horses/', 136), (135, 'Lions', 'category/animals/lions/', 136); -- -- Table structure for table `categories_parent` -- CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `categories_parent` ( `id` int(11) NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, `name` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `slug` varchar(1000) NOT NULL, `child_status` int(1) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', PRIMARY KEY (`id`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 AUTO_INCREMENT=139 ; -- -- Dumping data for table `categories_parent` -- INSERT INTO `categories_parent` (`id`, `name`, `slug`, `child_status`) VALUES (137, 'Celiberties', 'category/celiberties/', 1), (138, 'TV Shows', 'category/tv-shows/', 0), (136, 'Animals', 'category/animals/', 1);

    - by Dave
textfield.returnKeyTYpe = UIReturnKeyDone So the above makes my Return button on the keyboard to say Done. I have seen Apps with Blue color button on the UIKeyBoard. Is that simple enough to do? How do I change the background color of the Return key?

  • add a start up item via command line (mac)

    - by adam n
How can I add a start up item via command line on a mac? From googling, I know you have to edit ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginitems.plist using defaults write com.apple.loginitems [key] [value] but i'm not sure exactly which things to edit.

  • How do I use m2crypto to validate a X509 certificate chain in a non-SSL setting

    - by Brock Pytlik
I'm trying to figure out how to, using m2crypto, validate the chain of trust from a public key version of a X509 certificate back to one of a set of known root CA's when the chain may be arbitrarily long. The SSL.Context module looks promising except that I'm not doing this in the context of a SSL connection and I can't see how the information passed to load_verify_locations is used. Essentially, I'm looking for the interface that's equivalent to: openssl verify pub_key_x509_cert Is there something like that in m2crypto? Thanks.
