    I was searching for a solution which will help me to disable URL auto suggestion (from history) while I type url on adressbar. But I haven't found anything about this solution. I tryied to uncheck Use a prediction service to help complete searches and URLs typed in the address barin privacy settings, but it doesn't help. Is there any way to disable history or disable url suggestions from history?

  • My home box as my own host?

    Hi all, I have a 512 kb/s DSL service at home. I do not have a static IP but I can get one if I pay some extra to my ISP. Now, if I get the static IP, can I make my home box act as my internet host? What else do I need? Thanks P.S. I know that if at all possible, the site I make available this way might be slow, that is alright, my question is if it is possible at all.

    My organisation has Exchange 2007 e-mail server, and now, we want to host e-mail service for other organisation (neworg.com) I added new Authoritative Active Domain neworg.com, but when adding a new mailbox, there is no option to chose new SMTP domain name neworg.com, and I can't add new user with SMTP domain [email protected]. Probably I misunderstood something while reading posts on Internet, but can someone help please?

However, the big roadblock for me is the lack of any sort of shared inbox support (sales@... support@...) that would let multiple salespeople or support reps handle the incoming messages to the shared inbox in a consistent, graceful manner.     I have just installed CENTOS 6 on an internal network with no Internet Access. Not very familiar with LINUX/CENTOS, I managed to get httpd service started and I believe PHP wasn't installed. As the machine is not connected to the Internet, it will not be able to use YUM directly. How do I go about installing PHP and their dependencies, or the only way is to download the source codes and build it on my own?

    I have two simple WSGI apps running on top of mod_wsgi and apache2 on a test development server. There is no mod_python on this machine. The WSGI configuration is as follows WSGIDaemonProcess tops stack-size=524288 maximum-requests=5 WSGIScriptAlias /tops /home/ubuntu/tops-cloud/tops.wsgi <Directory /home/ubuntu/tops-cloud> WSGIProcessGroup tops WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL} Order deny,allow Allow from all </Directory> WSGIDaemonProcess flaskal maximum-requests=5 WSGIScriptAlias /c14 /home/ubuntu/c14/flaskal/flaskal.wsgi <Directory /home/ubuntu/c14/flaskal> WSGIProcessGroup flaskal WSGIApplicationGroup %{GLOBAL} Order deny,allow Allow from all </Directory> If I make changes to the app, I need to restart the web server, so I would expect that a simple sudo service apache2 restart does what I need. Same goes for any changes to the config (e.g. number of maximum requests, etc). Instead, it never ends "waiting", like this: $ sudo service apache2 restart * Restarting web server apache2 ... waiting .................................................. until I just do CTRL-C. At that point, the only way to resume a working server is to kill the process and restart it, not very convenient. The same happens with the stop command. The Apache error log may have more information. Unfortunately the Apache error log doesn't have anything. When apache2 is running properly, both apps work without any problem.

  • Hardware for multipurpose home server

    Hi guys, I'm looking to set up a multipurpose home server and hoped you could help me with the hardware selection. First of all, the services it will provide: Hosting a MySQL database (for training and testing purposes) FTP server Personal Mail Server Home media server So with this in mind I've done some research, and found some viable solutions: A standard PC with the appropriate software (Either second hand or new) A non-solid state mini-ITX system A solid state, fanless mini-ITX system I've also noted the pros and cons of each system: A standard second hand PC with old hardware would be the cheapest option. It could also have lacking processing power, not enough RAM and generally faulty hardware. Also, huge power consumption heat generation and noise levels. A standard new PC would have top-notch hardware and will stay that way for quite some time, so it's a good investment. But again, the main problem is power consumption, heat generation and noise levels. A non-solid state mini-ITX system would have the advantages of lower power consumption, lower cost (as far as I can see) and long lasting hardware. But it will generate noise and heat which will be even worse because of the size. A solid state, fanless mini-ITX system would have all the advantages of a non-solid state mini-ITX but with minimal noise and heat. The main disadvantage is the read\write problems of flash memory. All in all I'm leaning towards a non-solid state mini-ITX because of the read\write issues of flash memory. So, after this overview of what I do know, my questions are: Are all these services even providable from a single server? To my best understanding they are, but then again, I might be wrong. Is any of these solutions viable? If yes, which one is the best for my purposes? If not, what would you suggest? Also, on a more software oriented note: OS wise, I'm planning to run Linux. I'm currently thinking of four options I've been recommended: CentOS, Gentoo, DSL (Damn Small Linux) and LFS (Linux From Scratch). Any thoughts on this? Any other distro you would recomend? Regarding FTP services, I've herd good things about FileZila. Anyone has any experience with that? Do you recommend it? Do you recommend something else? Regarding the Mail service, I know nothing about this except that it exists. Any software you recommend for this task? Home media, same as mail service. Any recommended software?     The problem is the following: I have a camera D-Link securicam dcs-2121 (http://www.dlink.com.sg/products/?idproduct=310) it has its own web-server and works perfectly with a few connected users, but what I want is to make a lot amount of users able to connect and watch videostream, built-in server can't get trough many connections. So I need to translate stream to any external server and broadcast from it. What software or maybe service I need to use to this effect? thanks.

    My proxy server runs on ip A and this is how people access my web service. The nginx configuration will redirect to a virtual machine on ip B. Everything that hits the public IP will hit 443 because of the rewrite. Internally, we are forwarding to 80 on the virtual machine. But when I run a python script such as the one below to test our configuration import requests data = {'username': '....', 'password': '.....'} url = 'http://IP_A/api/service/signup' res = requests.post(url, data=data, verify=False) print res print res.json print res.status_code print res.headers I am getting a 405 Method Not Allowed. In nginx we found that when it hit the internal server, the internal nginx was getting a GET request, even though in the original header we did a POST (this was shown in the Python script). So it seems like rewrite has problem. Any idea how to fix this? When I commented out the rewrite, it hits 80 for sure, and it went through. Since rewrite was able to talk to our internal server, so rewrite itself has no issue. It's just the rewrite dropped POST to GET. Thank you! (This will also be asked on Nginx forum because this is a critical blocker...)

    Hi guys I have installed a samba PDC but when I test the samba configurations file I am getting errors like these, "Invalid combination of parameters for service homes. Map system can only work if create mask includes octal 010 (S_IXGRP)." My Configuration file is as follows [homes] comment = Home Directories path = /home_srv1/%u valid users = %S read only = No create mask = 0660 directory mask = 0770 browseable = No I tried to google but with no luck, Serverfault is always my best hope.     I've followed the steps in http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/303/adding-ftp-to-a-web-site/ However, when I get to the part where it says to click "add ftp publishing to website", the option is not visible in the IIS management console. I've verified that the "FTP Publishing Service" is installed in the server manager, and I can see it running in the services applet and via netstat -a. Suggestions?

The google hits I find for 'stumbleupon unsubscribe' are mostly touting or promoting the service in some way. On their site I see no way to unsubscribe, unless perhaps if you create a membership.

  • Reverse Proxy that does not buffer uploads

    From what I've seen of various reverse proxies (nginx, apache, varnish), they seem to buffer file uploads to disk before handing them off to the service they're proxying for. I need a reverse proxy that doesn't do this; I have a system that handles uploads itself, and buffering uploaded files to disk is not something that works for me. Does anybody know of a proxy server that can be configured to just pass traffic through to the proxied services without doing any buffering to disk?
