  • How To Automatically Script SQL Server: 'Generate Scripts' for SQL Database

    I want to run scheduled nightly exports of my database code into my SVN source. It's easy to schedule automated check-in's into svn from a folder, but scheduling the export from SQL in SQL Management Studio is Right click target database, choose Tasks Generate Scripts. Follow the wizard and presto you've got scripts in a folder. Is it possible to extract a single script that the wizard generates, and stuff that into a stored proc which I can run nightly? Ideas?

  • Sql Server Select Command and too much data sent to winforms application

    When you have an application and send a select command, the sql server gathers all the data and sends them back to your application and fills your datagrid (for example) If you performed the same select command in sql management studio, immediately as the query starts running and finding data the results panel would start filling with the data found. How can I do that for my winforms application? Is there a technique or a standard method of doing something like this? Links to good examples would be an immense help. thanks

  • Can the Microsoft Paint Edit Colors Dialog be supplemented?

    I have written a WinForms application that presents a color picker, limited to the known colors. My environment is Visual Studio C# Express 2008, C#, and Framework 2.0. Currently the MS Paint Colors menu item only presents an Edit Colors dialog. I would like to supplement that by causing the Colors menu item to display both "Edit Colors" and "Edit Known Colors". Can I accomplish this? If so, please provide a citation (or code if preferrred).

    I have an odd behavior with code clean up for c# in visual studio 2008 Team Developer Edition. Whenever I clean up my code using "Full Cleanup" it replaces all var declaration with explicit type declarations. But I have set the appropriate settings under "Inspection Severity" "Use var keyword when initializer explictly declares type" and "use var keyword when possible" to "Show as Error" Is there any other setting I need to set or is this a known bug?

  • Get ant concat to ignore BOM's'?

    I have an ant build that concatenates my javascript into one file and then compresses it. The problem is that Visual Studio's default encoding attaches a BOM to every file. How do I configure ant to strip out BOM's that would otherwise appear in the middle of the resulting concatenated file?     Hi all, I am writing a small script by Python to connect and post content to my WordPress blog. It's pretty straightforward with https://github.com/maxcutler/python-wordpress-xmlrpc However, when i tried to input a HTML data, for example: <b>Hello</b> It appears exactly in the WordPress post (I watch it from the visual editor, and I need to re-format it by copying the data to HTML mode to have the expected result.   • MVC app not working on server but is fine on development machine

    Hello, I am able to run my application just fine on my dev machine but as soon as I publish it to the web server some functionality is lost. Any type of .ajax POST does not work usually with a 401 unauthorized error. The server is Windows 2008 with IIS7. I also installed Visual Studio 2008 with MVC2 on the server and ran the application directly on the server and the same .ajax POST does not work but the error changed to 500 unknown.
