  • c++ queue template

    - by Dalton Conley
ALright, pardon my messy code please. Below is my queue class. #include <iostream> using namespace std; #ifndef QUEUE #define QUEUE /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Student Class # Methods # Student() // default constructor Student(string, int) // constructor display() // out puts a student # Data Members # Name // string name Id // int id ----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ class Student { public: Student() { } Student(string iname, int iid) { name = iname; id = iid; } void display(ostream &out) const { out << "Student Name: " << name << "\tStudent Id: " << id << "\tAddress: " << this << endl; } private: string name; int id; }; // define a typedef of a pointer to a student. typedef Student * StudentPointer; template <typename T> class Queue { public: /*------------------------------------------------------------------------ Queue Default Constructor Preconditions: none Postconditions: assigns default values for front and back to 0 description: constructs a default empty Queue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ Queue() : myFront(0), myBack(0) {} /*------------------------------------------------------------------------ Copy Constructor Preconditions: requres a reference to a value for which you are copying Postconditions: assigns a copy to the parent Queue. description: Copys a queue and assigns it to the parent Queue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ Queue(const T & q) { myFront = myBack = 0; if(!q.empty()) { // copy the first node myFront = myBack = new Node(q.front()); NodePointer qPtr = q.myFront->next; while(qPtr != NULL) { myBack->next = new Node(qPtr->data); myBack = myBack->next; qPtr = qPtr->next; } } } /*------------------------------------------------------------------------ Destructor Preconditions: none Postconditions: deallocates the dynamic memory for the Queue description: deletes the memory stored for a Queue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ ~Queue() { NodePointer prev = myFront, ptr; }; /*------------------------------------------------------------------------ join Preconditions: requires 2 queue values Postconditions: appends queue2 to the end of queue1 description: this function joins 2 queues into 1. ------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ template <typename T> Queue<T> join(Queue<T> q1, Queue<T> q2) { Queue<T> q1Copy(q1), q2Copy(q2); Queue<T> jQueue; while(!q1Copy.empty()) { jQueue.enqueue(q1Copy.front()); q1Copy.dequeue(); } while(!q2Copy.empty()) { jQueue.enqueue(q2Copy.front()); q2Copy.dequeue(); } cout << jQueue << endl; return jQueue; } /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overloaded << operator Preconditions: requires a constant reference and a Queue of type T Postconditions: returns the ostream (for chaining) description: this function is overloaded for outputing a queue with << ----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ template <typename T> ostream & operator<<(ostream &out, Queue<T> &s) { s.display(out); return out; } /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overloaded << operator Preconditions: requires a constant reference and a reference of type Student Postconditions: none description: this function is overloaded for outputing an object of type Student. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ ostream & operator<<(ostream &out, Student &s) { s.display(out); } /*---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overloaded << operator Preconditions: requires a constant reference and a reference of a pointer to a Student object. Postconditions: none description: this function is overloaded for outputing pointers to Students ----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ ostream & operator<<(ostream &out, StudentPointer &s) { s->display(out); } #endif Now I'm having some issues with it. For one, when I add 0 to a queue and then I output the queue like so.. Queue<double> qdub; qdub.enqueue(0); cout << qdub << endl; That works, it will output 0. But for example, if I modify that queue in any way.. like.. assign it to a different queue.. Queue<double> qdub1; Queue<double> qdub2; qdub1.enqueue(0; qdub2 = qdub1; cout << qdub2 << endl; It will give me weird values for 0 like.. 7.86914e-316. Help on this would be much appreciated!

  • visual studio macro - copy a definition or declaration from/to .h to/from .cpp

    - by Michael
Is it possible to do a macro that copies a definition of a function to a declaration, and also the opposite? For instance class Foo { Foo(int aParameter, int aDefaultParameter = 0); int someMethod(char aCharacter) const; }; from the .h file would be: Foo::Foo(int aParameter, int aDefaultParameter){ // } int Foo::someMethod(char aCharacter) const { return 0; } in the .cpp file. The opposite wouldn't work with the default value, but it would still be cool if it copied the declaration into the class in the header file. Also if it could return a default value as in someMethod (based on the return value from the declaration). Personally I tried to do macrocoding some year ago (I think it was around 2005) but the tutorials and documentation of macros was thin (or I hadn't searched enough). I ended up going through the examples that they had in the IDE but gave up when I figured it would take too long to learn. I would however like to give it a try again. So if there are anyone with knowledge of good tutorials or documentation that aims at Visual Studio .Net (and maybe also covers the above problem) I would probably accept that as an answer as well :)

  • Providing an application data update from a website

    - by Craig Johnston
I need to provide an update to application data as a download from a website. The update would actually just be the replacing of some data files with some updated ones. The update, which I assume would be some sort of setup package type program, would need to be able to do the following: access the file system and registry to determine where files should be copied to supply the files to be copied provide strong security so the data files cannot be downloaded or used by the wrong people What would be best way to achieve all of the above?

  • User control loosing its contents when loaded programatically

    - by Phil
I have a usercontrol which contains 2 repeaters and the code to populate them with data. If i manually insert this into the page then it works correctly, the repeaters populate etc. If I load it programatically using this method; 1) add class name to user control ClassName="ContentModule" 2) reference this in the default.aspx <%@ Reference Control="~/modules/content.ascx" %> 3) Add the code to my codebehind page_load to do the loading; Private loadmodule As ASP.ContentModule Try If themodule = "content" Then loadmodule = CType(LoadControl("~\Modules\Content.ascx"), ASP.ContentModule) Modulecontainer.Controls.Add(loadmodule) End If Catch ex As Exception Response.Write(ex.ToString & "<br />") End Try Nothing from within the usercontrol is loaded to the page. Although if I add some static text i.e "TEST" to the top of the usercontrol this is displayed ok on the default.aspx page. This makes me think that the control is loaded ok, but there is something in the way I have loaded it that is causing the contents to not properly execute. Very frustrating this one! Any help greatly appreciated!

  • Latex: index of symbols

    - by Daniel
I want to create an index of symbols or notation, similar to the usual index one obtains with makeindex. I have gotten this to work, using the glossaries package. However, just as in the usual index, I would like to get two columns in the index of symbols, while glossaries puts everything under each other. Commands like twocolumn or multicol also do not work, because then the second column starts higher than the first, above the title of the index of symbols. Any suggestions?

  • Is Horde an acceptable framework for PHP groupware development?

    - by Glenn
I'm working on this project and the customer wants it to integrate with a groupware package including bulk email, calendars, and task lists. He has heard about Horde and Horde GroupWare and is interested in using that. Do you have any developer related experience with Horde? If so, then what were your findings? Did you find it to be stable? What about the framework/API? Was it easy to integrate with?

  • Form Builder GUI for PHP

    - by Alan Storm
I'm looking around for an open source form building package for PHP, and figured the hive-mob-mind of StackOverflow might be able to tilt me in the right direction. Specifically, I'm looking for a form/survey builder application. I want something that lets an end user use a web based GUI to create and configure/surveys and web-based forms. What are the de-facto standard tools/packages that people use for this kind of thing these days. I'm interested in software packages, not in hosted services.

  • Using version control with SSIS packages (saving 'sensitive' data)

    - by sandesh247
Hi. We are a team working on a bunch of SSIS packages, which we share using version control (SVN). We have three ways of saving sensitive data in these packages : not storing them at all storing them with a user key storing them with a password However, each of these options is inconvenient while testing packages saved and committed by an other developer. For each such package, one has to update the credentials, no matter how the sensitive data was persisted. Is there a better way to collaborate on SSIS packages?

  • Security Exception when using Custom ASP.NET Healthmonitoring event in medium trust

    - by Elementenfresser
Hi, I'm using custom healthmonitoring events in ASP.NET We recently moved to a new server with default High Trust Permissions. Literature says that healthmonitoring and custom events should work under Medium or higher trust (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb398933.aspx). Problem is - it doesn't. In less than full trust I get a SecurityException saying The application attempted to perform an operation not allowed by the security policy It works in Full trust or when I remove the inheritance of System.Web.Management.WebErrorEvent. Any suggestions anyone? Here is the super simple code behind with a custom event defined: public partial class Default : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { try { CallCustomEvent(); } catch (Exception ex) { Response.Write(ex.Message); throw ex; } } /// <summary> /// this metho is never called due to lacking permissions... /// </summary> private void CallCustomEvent() { try { //do something useful here } catch (Exception) { //code to instantiate the forbidden inheritance... WebBaseEvent.Raise(new CustomEvent()); } } } /// <summary> /// custom error inheriting WebErrorEvent which is not allowed in high trust? can't believe that... /// </summary> public class CustomEvent : WebErrorEvent { public CustomEvent() : base("test", HttpContext.Current.Request, 100001, new ApplicationException("dummy")) { } } and the Web Config excerpt for high trust: <system.web> <trust level="High" originUrl="" />

  • IIS7 integrated mode MVC deploy 404 not found on some actions

    - by majkinetor
Hello. Once deployed parts of my web-application stop working. Index-es on each controller do work, and one form posting via Ajax, other then that yields 404. I understand that nothing particular should be done in integrated mode. One interesting thing is that 1 AJAX action is working. I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. Some info: App is using default app pool set to integrated mode. WebApp is done in net framework 3.5. I use default routing model. Along web.config in root there is web.config in /View folder referencing HttpNotFoundHandler. OS is Windows Server 2008. Admins issued aspnet_regiis.exe -i IIS 7 Any help is appreciated. Thx. EDIT: Noticed one very strange thing. One ajax call works, other ajax call doesn't works as I login, but when I move to ther page and return to that one it starts working ?! Small video of the problem is available here

  • Using jQuery with Windows 8 Metro JavaScript App causes security error

    - by patridge
Since it sounded like jQuery was an option for Metro JavaScript apps, I was starting to look forward to Windows 8 dev. I installed Visual Studio 2012 Express RC and started a new project (both empty and grid templates have the same problem). I made a local copy of jQuery 1.7.2 and added it as a script reference. <!-- SomeTestApp references --> <link href="/css/default.css" rel="stylesheet" /> <script src="/js/jquery-1.7.2.js"></script> <script src="/js/default.js"></script> Unfortunately, as soon as I ran the resulting app it tosses out a console error: HTML1701: Unable to add dynamic content ' a' A script attempted to inject dynamic content, or elements previously modified dynamically, that might be unsafe. For example, using the innerHTML property to add script or malformed HTML will generate this exception. Use the toStaticHTML method to filter dynamic content, or explicitly create elements and attributes with a method such as createElement. For more information, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=247104. I slapped a breakpoint in a non-minified version of jQuery and found the offending line: div.innerHTML = " <link/><table></table><a href='/a' style='top:1px;float:left;opacity:.55;'>a</a><input type='checkbox'/>"; Apparently, the security model for Metro apps forbids creating elements this way. This error doesn't cause any immediate issues for the user, but given its location, I am worried it will cause capability-discovery tests in jQuery to fail that shouldn't. I definitely want jQuery $.Deferred for making just about everything easier. I would prefer to be able to use the selector engine and event handling systems, but I would live without them if I had to. How does one get the latest jQuery to play nicely with Metro development?
