    I'm currently trying to write a stored procedure that can compute the biweekly periods when a date is passed in as a parameter. The business logic: the first Monday of the year is first day of the biweekly period. For example in 2010: period period_start period_end 1 2010-01-04 2010-01-17 2 2010-01-18 2010-01-31 3 2010-02-01 2010-02-14 .... 26 2010-12-20 2011-01-02 Passing today's date of 2010-12-31 will return 26, 2010-12-20 and 2011-01-02.     I have a list of links that all go to a google maps api. the links already have the daddr (destination) parameter in them as static. I am using Geo-Location to find the users position and I want to add the saddr (source address) to the links once I get the data. so basically I will need to add something like &saddr=50.1234567,-50.03452 at the tail end of all the links pointing to google maps All the links have a class called directions-link and from this page I have figured out how to change them: $("a.directions-link").attr("href", "http://www.google.com/"); However I only want to append my value to the end of the href without changing what the href already is. Since I have 2 animations going, it seems it ignores the .stop(). What can be done to prevent this?     I've attempted to write a class in TypeScript that has a method defined which acts as an event handler callback to a jQuery event. class Editor { textarea: JQuery; constructor(public id: string) { this.textarea = $(id); this.textarea.focusin(onFocusIn); } onFocusIn(e: JQueryEventObject) { var height = this.textarea.css('height'); // <-- This is not good. } } Within the onFocusIn event handler, TypeScript sees 'this' as being the 'this' of the class. However, jQuery overrides the this reference and sets it to the DOM object associated with the event. One alternative is to define a lambda within the constructor as the event handler, in which case TypeScript creates a sort of closure with a hidden _this alias. class Editor { textarea: JQuery; constructor(public id: string) { this.textarea = $(id); this.textarea.focusin((e) => { var height = this.textarea.css('height'); // <-- This is good. }); } } My question is, is there another way to access the this reference within the method-based event handler using TypeScript, to overcome this jQuery behavior?

    Currently, I have a XTS, called Data, which contains a Date, and two value columns which are numbers. I would like to get a single number as output and which would be the mean of Value1 in the time period from a point where Value2 < mean(Value2) and going forward 14 data points, weeks in this particular data set. In order to get the dates where Value2 < mean(Value2), I wrote the below code Data[which(Data$Value2 < mean(Data$Value2)),"Date"] However, I am not sure how to get the mean of Value1 in the period, going 14 days forward from each of the resultant dates from the above code.

  • JQuery Slideout only works on one side of the page?!

    I've been working on a little slideout code and it's just been impossible. It works perfectly sliding out from the right of the page but when I reverse everything and have it slide from the left, not a chance! The exact issue is that it slides out farther than the width of it's container. Example at http://demindu.com/sandbox/slideout/. I'd certainly appreciate any tips in the right direction.

  • jQuery: How to use modifier keys on form submit?

    Say I have a form that looks like this: [ Animal name input field ] Add button If I type a name and hit enter, an animal with the given name is added to a table. Works fine. What I would like now is to call the current way of working "quick add" and add a new feature called "slow add", which I am not quite sure how to do. Basically what I want is that if for example the shift key is held down when enter or the button is clicked, I want the form submit method to do something slightly different. In my case I want it to open up a form where more details on the animal can be added before it is added to the table. Problem is I'm not quite sure how to do this. I have tried add a FireBug console.info(eventData) in my current submit function and I have found that the eventData contains an altKey, shiftKey and controlKey property, but they are always undefined even when I hold those keys down. So, does anyone know how I can do something special in my submit handler when certain modifier keys were pressed when the form was submitted?

  • getting BR-separated text via DOM in JS/JQuery?

    Hi all, I am writing a greasemonkey script that is parsing a page with the following general structure: <table> <tr><td><center> <b><a href="show.php?who=IDNumber">(Account Name)</a></b> (#IDNumber) <br> (Rank) <br> (Title) <p> <b>Statistics:</b> <br> <table> <tr><td>blah blah etc. </td></tr></table></center></table> I'm specifically trying to grab the (Title) part out of that. As you can see, however, it's set off only by a <BR> tag, has no ID of its own, is just part of the text of a <CENTER> tag, and that tag has a whole raft of other text associated with it. Right now what I'm doing to get that is taking the innerHTML of the Center tag and using a regex on it to match for /<br>([A-Za-z ]*)<p><b>Statistics/. That is working okay for me, but it feels like there's gotta be a better way to pick that particular text out of there. ... So, is there a better way? Or should I complain to the site programmer that he needs to make that text more accessible? :-)

    I'm trying to create a button to show / hide a div below it, all is working fine, I'm just struggling with the last bit!   • Upload file from client machine to server - prepopulate file picker path?

    Hi, I'd like to upload a file from a client machine to my server. The user would have to specify the file to upload as I understand it, using a form that looks like: <input type="file" name="datafile" size="40"> This pops up a native file picker, which is great. The problem I'm having is that it's a real pain (for most users) to go looking around their machine for the file I'm interested in. Is there a way I can initialize the file picker with a path to make it more convenient for the user? Like I know some users will be on a windows machine, so I could prepopulate the picker by already sending them to the My Documents folder for example. I don't see how this is possible, just wondering if something like that exists, Thank you

    I'm trying to iterate a bunch of SELECT OPTION html drop-down fields and from the ones that are NOT empty, take the values and add a hidden field for a PAYPAL shopping cart. My problem is that for some reason, the variable "curitem" is not passed inside the each function and I can't add the hidden field like they should. All I get is "NaN" or "undefined". What PAYPAL expect is : item_name_1, item_name_2, etc. All numbers must iterate by +1. How can I do this?
