  I have a web service that is working fine in one environment but not in another. The web service gets document meta data from SharePoint, it running on a server where I cant debug but with logging I confirmed that the method enters and exits successfully. What could be the reason for the errors? • Persistence with Vaadin

  Hi I'm trying to learn vaadin. I'm really confused how to do any kind of application development with persistence because if I have a reference to my service layer objects, they get stored in session and I really don't want that. Persistence stuff just isn't serializable. My case is that I have an already made application that uses Spring and I'm creating a new UI for it with Vaadin. I can inject the spring stuff to my Vaadin application but that gets stored in the session. Any tips? By the way how do you post in the Vaadin forums? I can't find a post button or way to register :)

  I'm looking for an easy way to assign a post number to each post in wordpress and display it out of the total number of posts. A little info: There will be about 100 "posts", each on its own page I want users to click through each post, so start at post 1 and click "next post" to get to post 2 I want it to say post 4/100 at the top for each post I want the URL to have the post name in it I was going to use WP-PageNavi and set each page to display 1 post, however I need the url to show /post-name/ and not /page/2/ I know I can count total number of posts pretty easily, any idea how I can assign a number to each post without having to do it manually? I'd like to sort by date added.

  Hello, I just found out that I loose any reference to the session array if I create a new view and try to set a session variable in the controller. The array just comes out as empty. I actually try to use the session array to store the post vars from a multistep registration form. This was actually working when the php was spachetticode, but now that I dumpt everything in a mvc pattern, it is not functioning anymore. Can anyone explain what is going om here and possibly offer a solution om how to work with the session array? Thanks in adv, Richard

It is definitely connecting because I can see the schema_info table has been created. -M 0/1 changes the version as you would expect but still no table. But doesn't support drop down menus. I have tried every angle I could find to edit the drupal function menu_item_link which is used by nice menus to build the links. E.g. I looked at the drupal forum for two days and no joy.   Does anyone have some helpful links to find out about Android Uri's? For example, you get a Uri back from a "take a picture" Intent. What does a URI look like and how do you use it. Why are they used instead of filenames or file handles? When I use ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"), I get back a string URL. However, getResource always returns null. Example 1: String picture = ServletContext.getRealPath("picture.jpg"); // picture contains a non-null String with the correct path URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource(picture); // pictureURL is always null Example 2: URL pictureURL = ServletContext.getResource("picture.jpg"); // pictureURL is always null So what is the correct way to build a java.net.URL object pointing to a file in my webapps folder? Why does getRealPath work but not getResource? In case it helps at all, here is my folder structure webapps - mySite - picture.jpg Does my picture need to be stored in either WEB-INF or WEB-INF/classes to be read by getResource?

  We are currently trying to move large amounts of data to a Silverlight 3 client using WCF with PollingDuplex. I have read about the MultiplerMessagesPerPoll in Silverlight 4 and it appears to be quite a bit faster. Are there any examples out there for me to reference (using MultipleMessagesPerPoll)? Or maybe some good references on using Net.TCP? Maybe I should be taking a completely different approach? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  Hi there, I have a csv DictReader object (using Python 3.1), but I would like to know the number of lines/rows contained in the reader before I iterate through it. Something like as follows... myreader = csv.DictReader(open('myFile.csv', newline='')) totalrows = ? rowcount = 0 for row in myreader: rowcount +=1 print("Row %d/%d" % (rowcount,totalrows)) I know I could get the total by iterating through the reader, but then I couldn't run the 'for' loop. I could iterate through a copy of the reader, but I cannot find how to copy an iterator. I could also use totalrows = len(open('myFile.csv').readlines()) but that seems an unnecessary re-opening of the file. I would rather get the count from the DictReader if possible.   I'm in xcode debugging my iphone application. when i get to a break point and I roll over my object and properties of that object say "out of scope" instead of their respective values. Here's what I do: I have inited a view with nib name (initwithnibname). Then set the property of that view to the object that I want. I have placed the breakpoint in the viewwillappear method. I rollover my reference to the variable that was is my property. All properties in the object say "out of scope" Does anyone know why this is happening?

As you can see in the screenshot, the scope bar delegate has an IBOutlet for the search field so that it can return it as an extra view as part of the delegate process. The problem I'm having is that when the delegate object is queried for the accessory view, the IBOutlet NSSearchField is nil. I'm fairly certain this has something to do with the order that objects are created, IBOutlets wired, etc, but I'm just a little lost as to where in the process I can expect the search field to exist so that the scope bar delegate can reference it properly.   I've got an issue when using the Google Visualization api line chart with Jquery ui tabs. I've got two graphs on two tabs. The first graph, which is visible by default displays fine: the second chart on the hidden tab seems to be messing up the key: I've tried changing the options but nothing I do seems to make any difference. • Doctrine Mssql uniqueidentifier isn't cast as char or nvarchar when retrieved from the database.

  When I retrieve a record from the database which has a column of type "uniqueidentifier", Doctrine fills it with "null" rather than the unique id from the database. Some research and testing has brought this down to a PDO/dblib driver issue. When directly querying via PDO, null is returned in place of the unique id. For reference, http://trac.doctrine-project.org/ticket/1096, has a bit on this, however, it was updated 11 months ago with no comment for resolution. A way around this, as mentioned at http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=24752&edit=1, is to cast the column as a char. However, it doesn't seem Doctrine exposes the native field type outside of generating models which makes it a bit hard to detect uniqueidentifier types and cast them internally when building the sql query. Has anyone found a workaround for this?

  How do I write a program for iPhone (Objective C++) that runs on OS 2.0 but takes advantage of 3.0 features if they're available? Example: copy&paste (class UIPasteboard). Nice feature to have, but I don't want to kill backward compatibility. Do I compile against SDK v. 3 or v. 2? If the latter, how do I create an instance of UIPasteboard, considering it's not declared in the headers? If the former, won't some C-linkage functions cause "unresolved reference" upon loading under OS 2.0?

  Hi, I use the Searchable plugin with Grails I have the need to change the directory to which Compass points to, depending upon a UI choice by the user. Normally, this value is set in the compassConnection variable of the searchable map in grails-app/conf/Searchable.groovy, like so, and gets called at app startup time: searchable { compassConnection = new File( "/path/to/index/file/directory" ).absolutePath ... } To do what I need to do, I think that I need to get a handle into the compass config variable and then call config.setConnection("/new/path/to/index/dir") I don't know how I can get a reference to the config compass variable Am I right in assuming that I need to call setConnection(String) only, or is(are) there any other step(s) I need to take? • Environment variables get lost between MSBuild projects

  Hi, I have a .NET solution containing following projects: web application (WAP) web deployment (WDP, .wdproj) wix setup (WIX, .wixproj) In the WDP I've used a custom MSBuild task (SetEnvVar) to set some env. variables for further use in the build process. After setting them I can use them without prob. in the WDP but in the WIX they are empty/undefined. The strange thing is that when I reference those env. vars in the WIX files (by using properties in .wxs or preproc vars in .wxi) I get the values as expected. Do you have any idea why the env. vars get lost/are undefined in .wixproj? By the way the (solution) build process is triggered from inside VS 2010.

  Hi, i came across a weird behavior today w/ my web application. When I navigate from a page to another, I lose one particular session variable data. I'm able to launch the app in firefox and able to see that the session data is not lost. I use Response.Redirect(page2, false) to redirect to another page.
