• Creating multiple profiles in Windows Mobile

  I have a HTC HD2 which runs Windows Mobile 6.5. The way you can integrate different accounts is just amazing. You can integrate facebook,twitter,youtube. You can also sync your mail, and calendar from Hotmail or Gmail. It all works just great. Now my problem is that I have different profiles. I have my personal profile, and on the other side I have work profile. My work email is on Gmail Apps, so I have a mail and calendar there also. I also have a personal facebook account, and one I use for work. So my question is if there is a way of switching between these profiles quickly.

• Samba between Ubuntu server 10.10 and Windows Vista, Windows 7

  I have a linux box running Linux server ubuntu 10.10. I have installed Samba on this linux box and want to share files with my laptops which run Windows Vista home and Windows 7 home. I have been struggling with the setup for almost a month but couldn't get it right. If I try to access share folder from Windows Vista, I get message "Windows cannot access \\server_ip_address". Error code: 0x80070035. The network path was not found. If I access from Windows 7, then after entering password to login I can see the list of share folders on Linux box. But if I click on a share folder, I get the same error message as above.   Hello i really did all what i know to install the PostgreSQL 9.3.4 on my windows 2003 server x64, but i'm always stopped with this error : please see the error : http://oi57.tinypic.com/s4tb8i.jpg I really don't know what to do , if i click OK then when i go to the windows services list i don't find the PostgreSQL service so i can't Start the service . can any one please help me to install it correctly . • Media player only works as administrator?

  It seems I can only get Media Player 12 to work as administrator. If I run it normally (I am in the administrator group on my local PC) and right click on Music, and choose Manage Music Library. Media Player will sit and think for 5 or so seconds, then just not do anying, no dialog, no error. If I run as administator I can now get into the Manage Music Library dialog and add my a public folder containing my music. I've even tried granting everyone access to the public folder. One thing to note is that I have recently set up a domain controller and added my PC to the domain. With my local account I never noticed this problem, but I've since created a domain account and am now seeing this issue. I can't find much difference between the local and domain accounts - both are in the administrator group. Why would WMP require run as administrator? OS, Windows 7 64bit

• Revover original email from Sendmail log

  I have a website the contact form has been failing silently for two weeks (Wordpress + Contact form 7). Apparently updating to Contact Form 7 made the assigned email to fail [email protected], I also tested with [email protected] and it also failed until I tried with gmail and it finally worked. Apparently @telefonica.net and @me.com domains are not working with this version of the plugin, but I have to investigate the cause. I found the logs of the lost emails, but I would like to know If I can recover the sender or the content of the original messages. • Can't install mysql 5.1 on a windows machine because the last install left artifacts.

  After uninstalling mysql 5.1 (64 bit version) I cannot install the win32 version! Apparently the devs felt it neccasery to leave helpful artifacts behind? I have rebooted my machine but no effect.. • Setting up a lab with Windows 2003 server and windows 7 clients

  We are overhauling a lab with new machines with Windows 7 (as clients - around 150 of them). In the current infrastructure we have students logging in using a generic student id (as having individual student accounts doesn't really serve any additional purpose). This account, as you would imagine is a locked down one that can run a few (age old) softwares required by students in the class. Currently, the individual machines have XP images created by BartPE. What should be an ideal infrastructure design to cater to such a need with Windows Server 2003 and Windows 7 clients? It would be great if you can give me pointers to what concepts and background I need to have (like GPO), any design guidelines, best practices?

• What is a easiest way to implement Mail Server in ubuntu and hook in webmail through XAMPP?

  Hi Everyone, I currently have xampp running on my ubuntu server. I tried a variety of things including installing, postfix+dovecot+roundcube+postfixadmin (postfix+dovecot work I think, postfix admin also works, roundcube works and connects to dovecot but i cant create user accounts, or figure out how that works), citadel (it installed, but I have no idea how to make it work with xampp for webmail) and i tried messing with exim and vexim a bit also. In short I feel like this should be a lot easier, and I can't figure it out haha. XAMPP works fine. I got my server running with everything. I was thinking about mercury mail, but I need a webmail solution also. I was thinking about google apps, but 50 bucks a year per user is a steep change from free. Thanks for the help!

• e-mail no longer coming to aol inbox since I opened a Hotmail account [closed]

  I recently set up an email account with Hotmail. I have used AOL e-mail for years and would like to keep this as my main source for sending/receiving e-mail. When I set up the Hotmail account there was an option to have all my e-mail accounts forwarded to the Hotmail inbox. I set up this option and the page promised that all incoming mail would still be visible in the original inbox, in this case my AOL account. Well everything does come to the Hotmail account, the only problem is that I no longer receive these e-mails in my primary/desired location which is AOL. I went back and made sure the box was checked that provided the option through Hotmail that said "leave a copy of my messages on the server" (AOL) How do I get the e-mail that is being forwarded to Hotmail from my AOL account to still be visible in AOL, it should be in AOL inbox as that is the original destination but it is gone. Suggestions?

  I am trying to allow an account to update very specific attributes on all User objects. I am setting this security on the "User" object. When I add the account on the security tab, go to advanced, edit the accounts permissions, and start going through the list of attributes I am only able to find a few, like First Name, but most of the attributes I want to let them write to are missing. How can I grant the account write access to these attributes? • Solaris Mysql Failure and Unable to Restart

  Environment: Solaris 10 This mysql server has been up and running for 6 months now. Today all of a sudden it crashed. When typing 'mysql' as user it gives the error MYSQL" Error 2002 (HY000): Can't Connect to Local MySQL server though socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' when typing mysql as root it says mysql: not found. The server try to open mysql, it stays open for 9-10 seconds and restarts the process. Below are the application logs. • Mac OS X 10.5/6, authenticate against by NIS or LDAP when both servers have your username

  We have an organization-wide LDAP server and a department-only NIS server. Many users have accounts with the same name on both servers. Is there any way to get Leopard/Snow Leopard machines to query one server, and then the other, and let the user log in if his username/password combination matches at least one record? I can get either NIS authentication or LDAP authentication. I can even enable both, with LDAP set as higher priority, and authenticate using the name and password listed on the LDAP server. However, in the last case, if I set the LDAP domain as higher-priority in Directory Utility's search path and then provide the username/password pair listed in the NIS record, then my login is rejected even though the NIS server would accept it. Is there any way to make the OS check the rest of the search path after it finds the username?

I have been trying to configure an FTP user using the following (we use this same documentation on all servers) Install FTP Server apt-get install vsftpd Enable local_enable and write_enable to YES and anonymous user to NO in /etc/vsftpd.conf restart - service vsftpd restart - to allow changes to take place Add WordPress User for FTP access in WP Admin Create a fake shell for the user add "usr/sbin/nologin" to the bottom of the /etc/shells file Add a FTP user account useradd username -d /var/www/ -s /usr/sbin/nologin passwd username add these lines to the bottom of /etc/vsftpd.conf - userlist_file=/etc/vsftpd.userlist - userlist_enable=YES - userlist_deny=NO Add username to the list at top of /etc/vsftpd.userlist restart vsftpd "service vsftpd restart" make sure firewall is open for ftp "ufw allow ftp" allow modify the /var/www directory for username "chown -R /var/www I have also went through everything listed on this post and no luck. I am getting connection refused. Sorry for the poor text formatting above. I think you get the idea. This is something we do over and over and for some reason it is not cooperating here. • Does IIS Sometimes Allocate More Worker Processes Than Configured?

  We have an IIS 7.5 web service on Windows Server 2008 that handles WCF requests from C# clients. This service is configured to have Maximum Worker Processes = 1, so it is not a web garden. IIS is setup to recycle itself at the same time every day (3 AM). I am trying to debug gnarly connection issues, so I wanted to be sure the application pool was not recycling itself. I configured the pool to log an event when it recycles itself. To my surprise, I see the following entries in the System event log: Level: Information Date/Time: 3/23/2012 3:00:00 AM - Source: WAS - Event ID: 5076 A worker process with process id of '6636' serving application pool 'MyAppPool' has requested a recycle because it reached its scheduled recycle time. Level: Information Date/Time: 3/23/2012 2:59:39 AM - Source: WAS - Event ID: 5076 A worker process with process id of '9364' serving application pool 'MyAppPool' has requested a recycle because it reached its scheduled recycle time. IIS is correctly recycling the application pool at 3 AM. However, I do not understand why I would be getting two recycle events in the log within a few seconds of each other. The maximum number of processes is 1. Does IIS sometimes allocate multiple processes for an application pool that is specified as having 1 process? -- edit -- I connected at about 4 PM today and only saw 1 w3wp.exe process. There are no other event log entries that would indicate a crash.

• How to turn off Tomcat logging in Eclipse?

  I develop a Vaadin project in Eclipse that I start through Tomcat 6 which gets started directly by Eclipse. Tomcat prints an enormous amount of log messages though on each start which makes it hard to see the output of my own Application. I have already replaced all log levels in tomcat6/conf/logging.properties by WARNING (e.g. java.util.logging.ConsoleHandler.level = WARNING) but I still get many INFO messages. How can I turn this off or restrict the log messages to WARNING?   I set up this computer with a Local account. I have linked it to my 'primary' Microsoft account - which is used in the Mail and Store apps. There are no other accounts linked at this time. I wish to use the Messaging app with a different Microsoft account. However, Add an account only lets me add a Facebook account! I don't want to remove or change my primary Microsoft account, since I do not wish to use the Messaging account with any other services.

• Block SMTP session with sender domain which doesn't itself accept SMTP connection.

  I'm administrating a mail service for a small business. Their mail host's internet connection is an ADSL service with a permanent IP address. Unfortunately, many misconfigured mail systems will happily deliver to this host, but, when the host attempts to send mail back (e.g. a bounce notice, or a normal response from someone), the declared sender's domain has an MX which refuses to receive connections from this host. That misconfiguration makes their system a one-way mail sender, which is a problem. How can I configure Postfix on this customer's mail host to refuse SMTP sessions that declare a sender domain which itself refuses SMTP from this host? That is, if the SMTP client declares a domain that we can't make SMTP connections back to, then there's not much point accepting the incoming connection in the first place. Note that I'm not, as some commenters have assumed, talking about checking whether the SMTP client will receive messages. The check I want is whether the declared sender's domain (regardless of who the current SMTP client is) will accept SMTP connections from here. In other words: when we get around to sending a message back, we'll need the sender's domain to accept SMTP connections; I want to do that check before accepting the incoming session. I'm imagining a late check (after the low-cost checks to winnow most of the rubbish connections) that keeps the client on the other end while it attempts an SMTP client connection back to the declared domain of the sender. If that connection is rejected, the incoming one is also rejected. I'm also open to other suggestions for how this problem might be addressed (short of not using this mail host at all, which isn't an option).

• CC.NET + SVN : Server certificate issue

  I am trying to setup Continuous Integration in our office. Being a puny little developer I am facing this supposedly infamous problem: " Source control operation failed: svn: OPTIONS of 'https://trunkURL': Server certificate verification failed: issuer is not trusted" So I tried the following solution - Run CC.NET service (server running as win service) using a domain account (rather than default LOCAL SYSTEMS) and accept cert permanently using command prompt under that user by using svn log/list on the repo. Doesn't help :(. • In solaris, how monitor & auto-respond to critical events

  I have a website that randomly fail. Is running in open solaris on joyent. I have a monitoring service that alert me when the site is down, but, I want a way to put a "insider" tool that tell me why that happened. Is because the cpu is too high? Not memory? Which process fail? Is possible to have a backtrace of that? Everything is running on the Solaris Service Management Facility. The webserver is cherokee, the database is mysql and the language is python/django. I want the most simple setup to monitor that & auto-respond , ie: restart the webserver or the django process in case of failure. I prefer a low-overhead tool. I don't need the fancy monitoring that some tools have, no ned graphs or sms alert. Only know what fail, restart it if possible (maybe up to n times), and have a log somewhere when I will check it.

• Sql Server 2005 Connection Unstable When Sharing Connection

  When connecting to a customers hosting service via Sql Server Management Studio on an internet connection that also has other activity on it, the Sql Server connection to the hosting service is often dropped. An obvious work around to this problem is to NOT have additional traffic on the connection but it still begs the question "Why the Sql Server connection is so unstable?". If there is, for arguments sake, 100kb of bandwidth and a couple of downloads running that are being serviced at 35kB each then there is 30kB bandwidth spare capacity. If a 3rd download is started, that can be serviced at 35kB by the server, it will top out at 30kB and leave zero spare capacity. This is fine and all downloads get along nicely. However it seems that with Sql Server connections it doesn't matter if there is spare bandwidth. Sql Server regularly times out if there is any additional activity on the connection even if i have 1024kB spare bandwidth capacity. This has been experienced across different customer hosting providers over the years and so the assumption is that it's Sql Server related. Why does Sql Server (apparently) require exclusive access to the internet connection in order to maintain a connection... even if that connection has plenty of spare capacity over and above any additional activity on the connection?

• Configure Postfix to use external MX servers for delivery of local mail if user is unknown

  I have a following setup: linux box with postfix configured to be responsible for example.com domain domain's MX servers are configured so that mail sent to example.com is sent to google mail servers several user accounts on linux machine exist (same machine also hosts example.com site) When someone from the outside attempts to send mail to address ending with @example.com, it gets routed to google mail (and there handled appropriately). When linux machine tries to send mail to outside world, mail is delivered correctly, as reverse dns and spf records are configured correctly, so linux machine is valid mail sender for example.com domain (along with google mail servers). However, here's the problem. When php application (hosted at linux box) tries to send mail to [email protected] (and someuser doesn't exist on linux box), it fails, since it doesn't even consult google mail servers, but postfix smtp locally concludes that "someuser" is unknown. So, the question is: how do I tell postfix to relay mails sent to @example.com domain to google mail servers (so, to servers specified in MX records), IF and only if a mailbox is not found locally.

  What is a good way to manage user accounts for a Windows 7 Media Center PC that is part of an entertainment center for a family? Each family member keeps most of their personal stuff on their own computer. I was thinking the simple approach would be to create an admin account for management and then just create a "Family" user account w/o a password that is the default account used by the media center. This account would be used for the PVR, playing blu rays, music, etc. I don't think it is practical for someone to have to log in every time they use the media center.

  I'm not advanced administrator so this may be n00b question but I'll be grateful for help. I have following problem: I have to move my server (ubuntu server) from old machine to new. I have samba & ldap on old server, so I've copied the configuration files from the old machine to new machine, made smbldap-populate, and when I use smbldap-userlist on the new machine it lists all users from the old machine. But when I try to log in as any of these users, or show its id (id username) I get no such user error. What more I have to do to use these accounts on the new machnie?

  We have a proxy server in our internal network and I want to redirect all internet http requests to a web server in local network. It'll be like a Network Billboard that says "No direct connection is available. Set up your proxy etc." For example: A user starts the computer Opens the browser Tries to open www.google.com Should see web server output on local network Tries another web site on internet Should see web server output on local network Sets up proxy Tries to connect to a web site Web site should be loaded I have added a simple manual NAT rule to address translation in Checkpoint firewall but it simply does not work. Here is my address translation rule Source Destination Service T.Source T.Destination T.Service MY_PC A_GOOGLE_IP ALL ORIGINAL INT_WEB_SRV ORIGINAL Then when I ping A_GOOGLE_IP, replies come from INT_WEB_SRV, as I expected. However, when I try to connect A_GOOGLE_IP from browser (http://A_GOOGLE_IP), no replies come from SYN_SENT and falls into timeout. When I look at the firewall log of INT_WEB_SRV, I can see the incoming connection requests from MY_PC is accepted and NO denies. By the way, there is no problem to see INT_WEB_SRV (http://INT_WEB_SRV) from browser. My understanding is, my NAT rule at checkpoint NGX R60 does not include return packets. I definitely need some help.

  I am using sshd, and allow logins with public key authentication. I want to allow select users to log in with a PAM two-factor authentication module. Is there any way I can allow PAM two-factor authentication for a specifc user? I don't want users - By the same token - I only want to enable password authentication for specific accounts. I want my SSH daemon to reject the password authentication attempts to thwart would-be hackers into thinking that I will not accept password authentication - except for the case in which someone knows my heavily guarded secret account, which is password enabled. I want to do this for cases in which my SSH clients will not let me do either secret key, or two-factor authentication.
