  • Wordpress parses wp_posts.post_content before rendering?

    - by John
    I noticed that when I call the the_post() or the_content() function from my wordpress template, it automatically parses the database data to replace new lines with <br/>, wraps the text with <p> tags etc...There's probably some kind of "format" function within the_post() or the_content(). I wrote a query to directly get posts from the wp_posts. I then print it out like <?php $results = $wp->get_results($sql) foreach($results as $row) echo $row->post_content; ?> Clearly, this data is not parsed by wordpress' "format" function. What is the proper way to output this content such that it undergoes the same "formatting" functions as the_post() or the_content()?

  • Can I use a static var to "cache" the result? C++

    - by flyout
    I am using a function that returns a char*, and right now I am getting the compiler warning "returning address of local variable or temporary", so I guess I will have to use a static var for the return, my question is can I make something like if(var already set) return var else do function and return var? This is my function: char * GetUID() { TCHAR buf[20]; StringCchPrintf(buf, 20*sizeof(char), TEXT("%s"), someFunction()); return buf; } And this is what I want to do: char * GetUID() { static TCHAR buf[20]; if(strlen(buf)!=0) return buf; StringCchPrintf(buf, 20*sizeof(char), TEXT("%s"), someFunction()); return buf; } Is this a well use of static vars? And should I use ZeroMemory(&buf, 20*sizeof(char))? I removed it because if I use it above the if(strlen...) my TCHAR length is never 0, should I use it below?

  • Creating a custom categories widget

    - by Scott B
    The code below is an attempt to take the WP_Widget_Categories class and use it as the basis for a custom categories widget based on the default categories widget. I'm getting no output however and the widget is not showing up in the "Available Widgets" listing. What am I doing wrong? <?php /* Plugin Name: My Categories Widget Version: 1.0 */ class MY_Widget_Categories extends WP_Widget { function MY_Widget_Categories() { $widget_ops = array( 'classname' => 'widget_categories', 'description' => __( "A list or dropdown of categories" ) ); $this->WP_Widget('categories', __('Categories'), $widget_ops); } function widget( $args, $instance ) { extract( $args ); $title = apply_filters('widget_title', empty( $instance['title'] ) ? __( 'Categories' ) : $instance['title']); $c = $instance['count'] ? • AppendTo, does it change the DOM?

    - by JD
    Hi, I have two list boxes and some JQuery function that does the following: $(document).ready(function () { //If you want to move selected item from fromListBox to toListBox $("#AddButton").click(function () { $("#fromListBox option:selected").appendTo("#toListBox"); }); }); I have a button that when clicked moves items from one list to another. This works, however when I do "View Page Source" in chrome, the list contains the original list and not the newly added items. I expected appendTo to change the DOM but clearly this is not what is happening. Why is this? JD

  • JQuery code does not work not understanding the markup

    - by Andrae Browne
    I am trying to make a simple animation using JQuery. I have tried adding the script externally(external file) and internally(within script tags). I have testing if the page is recognizing the script using the alert function, but the script is not executing. I am thinking that is has something to do with the syntax. $("#container5").hover(function() { //hover in $(#container5).animate({ height: "250", width: "250", left: "-=50", top: "-=50", }, "fast"); }, function() { //hover out $(#container5).animate({ height: "200", width: "200", left: "+=50", top: "+=50", }, "fast"); } })(jQuery);

  • Using PHP interfaces in Codeigniter

    - by John Stewart
    I am trying to find out how can I used PHP interfaces in my MVC design. I want to make sure that the design enforces an interface so that any new module would follow that. For example: <?php interface BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg); } class ServiceAPI implements BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg) { return $msg; } } class Service_Two_API implements BaseAPI { public function postMessage($msg) { return "can't do this: ".$msg; } } ?> I want to do this in CI. Is it possible? how should I design it?

  • Porting Windows C++ to Standard (Linux) C++ - WSAGetLastError()

    - by Donal Rafferty
    I am currently porting some Windows mobile C++ code to standard C++. So I am trying to find alternatives for windows specific functions. I have had very little luck in finding a standard C++ function that can help me replace the WSAGetLastError() windows specific function. WSAGetLastError() returns error numbers for errors that occur with sockets in windows. So I was wondering if anyone was aware of a way to replace this function in standard c++? A way to get different error numbers for different outcomes of connecting/dissconection a socket would be sufficent.

My question is how can I show/hide them individually? Code snippets below. <td> <a href="#">Item</a> <div class="data-meta"> <a href="#">Edit</a> | <a href="#">Disable</a> | <a href="#">Delete</a> </div> $(document).ready(function(){ $("td").hover( function () { $('.data-meta').show(); }, function () { $('.data-meta').hide(); }); });

  • jQuery toggle show XHTML Smarty some clahes maybe? It doesn't show..

    - by Kyle Sevenoaks
    Hi, at this page new customer, there is something that it doesn't like, my boss asked me to make a show function that shows the new customer registration when the user clicks on the "ny kunde" button. Here is an example of the code I got working (I'm a jQuery noob). I guess there is some clash between this and the functions already installed on the page, but what? #roundbigboxnykunde is meant to be hidden on the page as on the jsfiddle example, but I have shown it to let you see what else is on the page. Code on my .tpl <button id="button1">&nbsp;</button> {literal} <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { //checkbox $("#button1").click(function()1 $(".newCustomer").toggle("show"); }); });? </script> {/literal} <div class="newCustomer">... Thanks.

  • Javascript: best solution to wait for all ajax callbacks to be executed

    - by glaz666
    Hi! Imagine we have to sources to be requested by ajax. I want to perform some actions when all callbacks are triggered. How this can be done besides this approach: (function($){ var sources = ['http://source1.com', 'http://source2.com'], guard = 0, someHandler = function() { if (guard != sources.length) { return; } //do some actions }; for (var idx in sources) { $.getJSON(sources[idx], function(){ guard++; someHandler(); }) } })(jQuery) What I don't like here is that in this case I can't handle response failing (eg. I can't set timeout for response to come) and overall approach (I suppose there should be a way to use more power of functional programming here) Any ideas? Regards!

  • Single C++/CLI method to wrap many type specific C functions

    - by T33C
    I am wrapping a C library using C++/CLI so that the C library can be used easily from C# in a C#'ish way. Some of the functions in this library are for putting a value into a container. There are no generics in C so there exists a function per type CLIB_SetBool(BOOL value), CLIB_SetInt(int value), CLIB_SetString(char* string) and so on. To make it easier to use from C#, I have created a single Set function which takes a System::Object. I have two related questions: With my method how would you use a switch statement on the type of System::Object to call the correct CLIB_Setxxxx function. [typeid is only for unmanaged code and I can't seem to use GetType.] Is there a better way to wrap these functions like using a Generic? [I started using template specialisation but then realised that C# doesn't see templates.] Thanks.

  • jQuery - How to Prevent Animation Queue Buildup with Double Animations?

    - by Jason
    Hello, I was taking a look at this tutorial here to prevent animation buildups: http://www.learningjquery.com/2009/01/quick-tip-prevent-animation-queue-buildup My situation: I am doing a double animation like this below, and would like the prevent the animation build up. Since I have 2 animations going, it seems it ignores the .stop(). What can be done to prevent this? I have tried .stop() on both .animate and if I do that it stops animating... $(document).ready(function() { $('#element').hover(function() { $(this).stop() .animate( { left: 200 }, { duration: 'slow', }) .animate( { top: 200 }, { duration: 'slow', }); } , function() { $(this).stop() .animate( { left: 0 }, { duration: 'slow', }) .animate( { top: 0 }, { duration: 'slow', }); }); }); Any help will be greatly aprecaited!!

  • jQuery infinite loop w/ tablesorter

    - by Wells
    Got myself in a funny situation: page has three tables. Using sortEnd, any time you sort one table, it sorts the other three. However, since I bound sortEnd to the function that does the sorting, you get a infinite loop of sorting/resorting. It looks like: $("table.tablesorter").tablesorter({widgets: ['zebra']}).bind("sortEnd", function() { $(this).find("th.headerSortDown,.headerSortUp").each(function(i) { index = $(this).attr("cellIndex"); order = ($(this).is(".headerSortDown")) ? 1 : 0; $("table.tablesorter").tablesorter({sortList: [[index,order]]}); }); }); Any tips on how to clean this up?

  • How can I implement a tail-recursive list append?

    - by martingw
    A simple append function like this (in F#): let rec app s t = match s with | [] -> t | (x::ss) -> x :: (app ss t) will crash when s becomes big, since the function is not tail recursive. I noticed that F#'s standard append function does not crash with big lists, so it must be implemented differently. So I wondered: How does a tail recursive definition of append look like? I came up with something like this: let rec comb s t = match s with | [] -> t | (x::ss) -> comb ss (x::t) let app2 s t = comb (List.rev s) t which works, but looks rather odd. Is there a more elegant definition?
