    I am creating dynamic TextBoxes in a page by clicking a LinkButton.     I have a class that contains multiple user objects and as such has an array of them as an instance variable: NSMutableArray *users; The tricky part is setting it. I am deserializing these objects from a server via Objective Resource, and for backend reasons users can only be returned as a long string of UIDs - what I have locally is a separate dictionary of users keyed to UIDs. Given the string uidString of comma separated UIDs I override the default setter and populate the actual user objects: @dynamic users; - (void)setUsers:(id)uidString { users = [NSMutableArray arrayWithArray: [[User allUsersDictionary] objectsForKeys:[(NSString*)uidString componentsSeparatedByString:@","]]]; } The problem is this: I now serialize these to database using SQLitePO, which stores these as the array of user objects, not the original string. So when I retrieve it from database the setter mistakenly treats this array of user objects as a string! Where I actually want to adjust the setter's behavior when it gets this object from DB vs. over the network. I can't just make the getter serialize back into a string without tearing up large code that reference this array of user objects, and I tried to detect in the setter whether I have a string or an array coming in: if ([uidString respondsToSelector:@selector(addObject)]) { // Already an array, so don't do anything - just assign users = uidString but no success... so I'm kind of stuck - any suggestions?     I need to dynamically bind properties of components created at runtime. In this particular case please assume I need to use bindProperty. I don't quite understand why the following simplistic test is failing (see code). When I click the button, the label text does not change. I realize that there are simpler ways to go about this particular example using traditional non-dynamic binding, but I need to understand it in terms of using bindProperty.   • The right approach to loading dynamic content into a UITableView in iOS

    ok, I've read tons of bits and pieces on the subject of loading dynamic content (from the web) into a UITableView and the problem with calculating cell height upfront. I've tried different simple implementations but the problem persists... Assuming I need to read a JSON file from the web, parse it into 'item' objects, each with variable size image and various text labels, here is what I believe would be the right approach to avoid long hang time of the app while everything is loading: on app load read JSON file and parse into items array provide only small part of the items array to the tableview (about 10 items) - since I need to load the images associated with each item to calculate cell height - I don't want the view to go through the whole items list and load all images - this hangs the app until every image is loaded display the tableview with the available cells (assuming I load a few 'spare' ones, user can even scroll to more items) in the background using Grand Central Dispatch download images for all/some of the remaining items and then reload the tableview with the new data (repeat step 4 if item list is very long) Step 2 above is necessary since I have no way to calculate the cell height without loading the images first, and since tableview first calculates height of all cells it may take a very long time to download all images for all items. Would you say this is the right approach? am I missing something?

    I've googled this and found that it's almost impossible to create a database with dynamic collumns. I'll explain my problem first. I am making a webshop for a customer. It has multiple computer products for sale. CPU's HDD's RAM ect. All these products have different properties, a CPU has an FSB, RAM has a CAS latency. But this is very inconvenient because my orders table needs foreign keys to different tables which is impossible. An other option is to store all the product specific information in a varchar or blob field and let PHP figure it out. The problem with this solution is that the website needs a PC builder. A step-by-step guide to building your PC. So for instance if a customer decides he wants a new "i7 920" or whatever i want to be able to sellect all motherboards for socket 1366, which is impossible because all the data is stored in one field. I know it's possible to select all motherboards form the DB and let PHP figure out which ones are for socket 1366 but i was wondering, is there a better solution?

There is need to select all products that depends to some concrete category with all its childs (branch). So, I use following sql statement to do that: SELECT * FROM Products p WHERE p.ID IN ( SELECT DISTINCT pc.ProductID FROM ProductsCategories pc INNER JOIN Categories c ON c.ID = pc.CategoryID WHERE c.TLeft >= 1 AND c.TRight <= 33378 ) But with big set of data this query executes very long and I found some solution to optimize it, look at here: DECLARE @CatProducts TABLE ( ProductID int NOT NULL ) INSERT INTO @CatProducts SELECT DISTINCT pc.ProductID FROM ProductsCategories pc INNER JOIN Categories c ON c.ID = pc.CategoryID WHERE c.TLeft >= 1 AND c.TRight <= 33378 SELECT * FROM Products p INNER JOIN @CatProducts cp ON cp.ProductID = p.ID This query executes very fast but I don't know how to do that with NHIbernate. Note, that I need use only ICriteria because of dynamic filtering\ordering. If some one knows a solution for that, it will be fantastic. But I'll pleasure to any suggestions of course.     I have a data table like so: a 1 a 2 b 3 b 4 c 5 c 6 c 7 I want to pull items out of this table by dynamically telling it what letters to pull. My current formula is: =query(A1:B7,"select * where A ='" & D1 & "'"). D1 being the cell I wish to modify to modify the query. I want to be able input into D1 -- a, a,b, a,b,c and have the query work. I know it would involve or statements in the query, but haven't figured out how to make the formula dynamic. I am looking for a general solution for this pattern: a -- A = 'a' a,b -- A = 'a' or A = 'b' a,b,c -- A = 'a' or A = 'b' or A='c' Or any other solution that solves the problem. Edit: So far I have =ArrayFormula(CONCATENATE("A='"&split(D3,",")&"' or ")) this gives A='a' or A='b' or A='c' or for a,b,c. can't figure out how to remove the last or.

  • Facebook Connect icon isn't showing up in Internet Explorer

    I'm working on a site that is using Facebook Connect and recently made some changes so that the main pages are cached and if you are not logged in (checked with an ajax call) it loads the Facebook Connect javascript and renders the connect button into the page. This works perfectly everywhere except Internet Explorer 7 and 8. The weird part is I render the buttons into a hidden Sign Up / Sign In form and when you show either of those the Connect buttons appear. You can take a look here and you will see the button in Firefox and not Internet Explorer. If you click Sign In the button will show up. This is a Rails app so on the server-side we're responding to an ajax call with rjs like this: page['signin-status'].replace(:partial => "common/layout/signin_menu") page.select('.facebook-connect').each do |value, index| value.replace(render(:partial => '/facebook/signin')) end page << <<-eos LazyLoader.load('http://static.ak.connect.facebook.com/js/api_lib/v0.4/FeatureLoader.js.php', function(){ FB.init('#{Facebooker.api_key}','/xd_receiver.html'); }); eos The first line is replacing the header, the second is the Connect buttons in the Modal dialogs.   • Facebook connect displaying invite friends dialog and closing on completion

    I'm trying to create a Facebook Connect application that displays a friend invite dialog within the page using Facebook's Javascript API (through a FBMLPopupDialog). The trouble is to display a friend invite dialog you use a multi-friend form which requires an action="url" attribute that represents the URL to redirect your page to when the user completes or skips the form. The problem is that I want to just close the FBMLPopupDialog (the same behavior as if the user just hit the 'X' button on the popup dialog). The best I can do is redirect the user back to the page they were on basically a reload but they lose all AJAX/Flash application state. I'm wondering if any Facebook Connect developers have run into this issue and have a good way to simply display a friend invite "lightbox" dialog within their website where they don't want to "refresh" or "redirect" when the user finishes.     I am trying to use Reflection.Emit to generate a wrapper class in a dynamic assembly. Automatic wrapper generation is part of a new open-source library I'm writing called "GoInterfaces". The wrapper class implements IEnumerable<string> and wraps List<string>. In C# terms, all it does is this: class List1_7931B0B4_79328AA0 : IEnumerable<string> { private readonly List<string> _obj; public List1_7931B0B4_79328AA0(List<string> obj) { this._obj = obj; } IEnumerator IEnumerable.GetEnumerator() { return this._obj.GetEnumerator(); } public sealed IEnumerator<string> GetEnumerator() { return this._obj.GetEnumerator(); } } However, when I try to call the GetEnumerator() method on my wrapper class, I get ExecutionEngineException. So I saved my dynamic assembly to a DLL and used ildasm on it. I have a test suite that wraps all sorts of different things, including interfaces derived from other interfaces, and multiple interface methods with identical signatures. What I found out so far is that the wrong instance of obj is triggered from the click event, even though o1 and o2 maintain correct references to their corresponding DOM object.   • jQuery Cycle plugin IE6/7 issues

    I've implemented a slideshow using the Cycle plugin, which is working in all browsers except IE6&7, where the images just show up in a list, and the #page_copy div is not hiding. I've been going through the code all day without any luck, and not exactly sure how or what I should be looking for. What would be the best way to go about debugging this issue?     Hi all: I got stuck in this problem for an hour. I am thinking this is something relates to variable scoping ? I can see Firebug console outputs the route ids with no problem at all.     I'm developing a javascript App that needs, as part of its functionality, for users to be able to update their Twitter status. The App is designed to work on mobiles, and as such I don't really want to be sending users all the way over to the Twitter site to sign in; they should just be able to pass their credentials to the app, and I'll handle all the signin. So I'm trying to use the Basic Auth with the restful API.
