I'm serving a file from Lighttpd whose name contains space-characters. I'm using mimetype "application/octet-stream"
When I download this in Chrome, it works perfectly. But when I download in Firefox, the filename is truncated at the first space.
Is this to do with the mimetype? With some other lightty config? Or maybe something to do with the kind of space-character I'm using?
Using iis7, windows 7, asp.net 3.5. I have in my hosts file
127.0.0.1 mysite
::1 mysite
I forgot why I added the ::1, but I think it was important. Anyone know what the second line is for? Thanks in advance.
Edit
One more question. What happens if I leave it out? The web site I'm working on doesn't address via IPv6, at least, not that I know of.
VS 2008 SP1 craching when I open an ASPX file on Windows XP
Has anyone experienced this before ?
VS does not give me any error messages. It simply shuts down very quickly.
I have tried both the .net FileUpload control and the ajax Asyncfileuploadcontrol to upload a file less than 500kb.
It seems that when I tried to go through my wireless router (att.bellsouth) that the uploads always fail, however when I plug my droid into my laptop and use my pda connection it works perfectly fine.
I'm wondering if the network connection from my house to my server could be causing this issue, and if anyone had any solutions to this problem. Tomorrow I'm going to try and upload from other networks and pray it works.
this is a different question concerning:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2360433/add-a-connection-to-database-not-working-asp-net-to-mdf
i am unable to connect because of the noted error message
the database must be read only? but when i click the properties of the file read only is not checked
is there another way it could be read only?
byte[] binaryData = new Byte[pngStream.Length];
long bytesRead = pngStream.Read(binaryData, 0, (int)pngStream.Length);
string base64String = System.Convert.ToBase64String(binaryData,
0,
binaryData.Length);
I have a binary data in Byte array.
Does anybody know how to save this into any image file (png or jpg) in silverlight3 or c#?
Thanks
Hi,
I am wondering, if I create a new HttpRequest, and put the content of a simple file inside this request, would I be able to read the content on the server side by aspx page? in other words would that be equivalent to upload control?
Thanks!

Hi guys,
I need to set up a filter file for my findbugs ant script that scans only the src/* files and not the test/* files.
What is the syntax for checking all classes while ignoring any filename or package name with 'test' in the name?
Thanks
How does one make their application help file similar to the new windows 7 help format and is that compatible with Windows XP? Can anyone provide details ?
The title says it all, how do I access properties (title, state,...) of instance variables from within a class method of an other implementation file? I tried @synthesize but I couldn't get it to work.
Hi there,
So I'm following thiese instructions:http://mark-kirby.co.uk/tag/osx/
and so far i've cloned the project I want to work on and created a branch.
Now I wish to add files that exist in another folder on my machine... but I keep getting the following:
fatal: pathspec 'Users/mic/OnePageCRMVC/MKTsite25-05/index.html' did not match any files
However, the file definitely does exist...
Am I trying to do something that is not allowed and the error message is throwing me off?

Fiona

Does anyone know how to Unzip password protected files in an SSIS package?
We have an SSIS package that currently use java.util.zip to unzip zip file and has been working perfectly for some time now. They now want to password protect the files and unfortunetly this library cannot do it.
We are using a SQL server 2008 with .Net 3.5 on the windows server 2008 R2.
I have developed an application in vb.net2008 and database sqlserver. Now i want to ignore the database (it has 1 table as customer(name,password,hour,minute)) as i dont want my client to install sqlserver separately or other overheads.
I am planning to do the whole using file handling in vb.net(manipulating the data in files itself eg change username, password etc). As I am new i don't actually know the proper way and of course need assistance.
Hi all
I have data like below
AAAAAA
BBBBBB
CCCCCC
DDDDDD
EEEEEE
Now there is button on the page,when I click the button, the browser would download a excel file with the data above, and stay current page. Is there any simple way to do it? The data is very simple. only one column, and not huge.
Best Regards,
I have 4 reasonably complex r scripts that are used to manipulate csv and xml files. These were created by another department where they work exclusively in r.
My understanding is that while r is very fast when dealing with data, it's not really optimised for file manipulation. Can I expect to get significant speed increases by converting these scripts to python? Or is this something of a waste of time?

Is there a way (without buffering the whole Inputstream) to take the HttpServletRequest from a Java Servlet and write it out to a file using all NIO? Is it even worth trying? Will it be any faster reading from a normal java.io stream and writing to a java.nio Channel or do they both really need to be pure NIO to see a benefit? Thanks.
What are all the file formats supported by UIWebView?
In my testing, I found that it supports XLS, DOC, PPT, PDF but not XLSX, and DOCX, RTF.
It supports image files like, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, not sure about TIFF or
Exactly, what all types are supported is not clear...
The UIWebView documentation also doesn't state it clearly.
Could someone please help?
I hate generating an exception for things that I can simply test with an if statement. I know that a zero length zip/jar will trigger an exception if you try to access it using the java.util.zip/java.util.jar APIs. So, it seems like there should be a smallest file that these utility APIs are capable of working with.
I'm looking to allow users to upload an Excel or CSV file to MySQL for a contact management system. Need to be able to allow users to map their columns so that they are imported into the correct column in the table.
Anyone know of a good site or tutorial on this?
