• Is there a better way to share master pages now that VS 2010 and .Net 4 are out?

  I'm trying to find a better way to share a master page than the old method of using Web Deployment Projects and a really nasty master page to share master pages between applications. I would think Microsoft would have given us something a little nicer in 2010, but I haven't found anything. Any ideas?

  I'm having a little trouble understaing how I would use covariance and contravariance in the real world. So far, the only example's I've seen have been the same old array example. object[] objectArray = new string[] { "string 1", "string 2" }; It would be nice to see an example that would allow me to use it during my development if I could see it being used elsewhere.   An old mentor once told me to place indexes on most things you use a WHERE clause for. Should I put an index on BOOL/TINYINT's? There is a significant amount of them in the table I am working with, and often results are filtered by anywhere from 1-20 of these boolean conditions.

I just have a problem changing the URLs in the database, since I need to replace the new URL with the old one. Is there a way to do that with Resharper, possibly by integrating it in with "Code cleanup"?

  Hello. Some of the old projects in our company are left to be built with VS2005 in autobuild system (making them built correctly in 2010 costs time). Is it any addins for VS2010 that will allow to open VS2005 project and edit it's files without converting project file itself to VS2010 format (converting will kill autobuild)? Of course i can create a separate project named "xxx_vs2010.vcproj" for each of such products, but that will be a mess :(.

  I am a beginner who finally started understanding anonymous types. (see old post http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3010147/what-is-the-return-type-for-a-anonymous-linq-query-select-what-is-the-best-way-t) So in LINQ queries you form the type of return value you want within the linq query right? It seems the way to do this is anonymous type right? Can someone explain to me if and when I could use a Tuple/Expando object instead? They all seem very simliar?

  How can I get the rearranged columns out of a datagridview in C#? I need to get all the columns currently being displayed in order. I can get the default columns order by setting datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns=false but I get the same old order even after I've rearranged the columns in my table. Thanks

• OpenGL: Implementing transformation matrix stack

  In a newer OpenGL there is no matrix stack. I am working on a simple display engine, and I am going to implement the transformation stack. What is a common strategy here? Should I build a push/pop stack, and use it with a tree representing my model? I suppose this is the "old" approach, that was deprecated in the newer OpenGL versions. Maybe then it is not the best solution (it was removed for some reason)

  I am converting some old C# code, and it has a CountDownLatch using a package called Spring.Threading.Helpers. The odd thing is that I can't find this package on Google - so a) is it still supported? And, if so, where is it documented? b) What I really want to do is wait for a count to get to zero, but interrupt every so many msecs. Would it just be simpler to set up another thread, and do WaitOnes on an Event specifying an interval? TIA

• Can't export release build / compile for Adobe Air 1.0

  I opened up an old project in Flex Builder 3 which runs on Adobe AIR 1.0. I believe it was originally written in Flex Builder 2. When I try to run the air app, nothing happens. When I try to export a release build, I get this error: If I change the main-app.xml file to use the 1.5 version of the namespace, it builds fine. Unfortunately, the clients environment runs on 1.0. Ideas?
