  • Employing elegance in order to evade importing elephants: a case of excessive dll Imports

    - by user994179
    I am writing C# code that interfaces to a legacy (Feb 2012) C program, using DllImport. It works fine, but I need to call more than 30 different functions, turning my normally impeccable, exquisite code into something of near-elephantine proportions. Surely there must be a way around this? [Warning: those with weak stomachs may want to avert their eyes from what follows]: [DllImport("C:\\Users\\mitt\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2010\\Projects\\mrSolution\\mr\\x64\\Debug\\mrDll.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)] public static extern bool mrEngine_initialize( [In, Out, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStruct)] PLOT_SPEC PlotSpec); [DllImport("C:\\Users\\mitt\\Documents\\Visual Studio 2010\\Projects\\mrSolution\\mr\\x64\\Debug\\mrDll.dll", CallingConvention = CallingConvention.Cdecl, CharSet = CharSet.Ansi)] public static extern bool mrEngine_getDataPoint( [In, Out, MarshalAs(UnmanagedType.LPStruct)] PLOT_SPEC PlotSpec);

  • Oracle 10g - Best way to escape single quotes

    - by satynos
I have to generate some update statements based off a table in our database. I created the following script which is generating the update statements I need. But when I try to run those scripts I am getting errors pertaining to unescaped single quotes in the content and &B, &T characters which have special meaning in oracle. I took care of the &B and &T problem by setting SET DEFINE OFF. Whats the best way to escape single quotes within the content? DECLARE CURSOR C1 IS SELECT * FROM EMPLOYEES; BEGIN FOR I IN C1 LOOP DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE('UPDATE EMPLOYEES SET FIRST_NAME= ''' || I.FIRST_NAME|| ''', LAST_NAME = ''' || I.LAST_NAME ''', DOB = ''' || I.DOB|| ''' WHERE EMPLOYEE_ID = ''' || I.EMPLOYEE_ID || ''';'); END LOOP; END; Here if the first_name or last_name contains single quotes then the generated update statements break. Whats the best way to escape those single quotes within the first_name and last_name?

  • Problems with CloseMainWindow() to close a Windows Explorer window

    - by MorgoZ
Hello! I´m facing a problem when trying to close a Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) window through another application, using the "Process.CloseMainWindow()" method; because it doesn´t close the Explorer window, it tries to close the full Windows (Operative System), by the way, Windows XP. The code is as follows: [DllImport("user32.dll")] static extern int GetForegroundWindow(); [DllImport("user32.dll")] private static extern UInt32 GetWindowThreadProcessId(Int32 hWnd, out Int32 lpdwProcessId); public String[] exeCommand() { try { //Get App Int32 hwnd = 0; hwnd = GetForegroundWindow(); Process actualProcess = Process.GetProcessById(GetWindowProcessID(hwnd)); //Close App if (!actualProcess.CloseMainWindow()) actualProcess.Kill(); } catch { throw; } return null; } Suppose that the "actualProcess" is "explorer.exe" Any help will be appreciated!! Salutes!

  • UTF-8 GET using Indy 10.5.8.0 and Delphi XE2

    - by Bogdan Botezatu
I'm writing my first Unicode application with Delphi XE2 and I've stumbled upon an issue with GET requests to an Unicode URL. Shortly put, it's a routine in a MP3 tagging application that takes a track title and an artist and queries Last.FM for the corresponding album, track no and genre. I have the following code: function GetMP3Info(artist, track: string) : TMP3Data //<---(This is a record) var TrackTitle, ArtistTitle : WideString; webquery : WideString; [....] WebQuery := UTF8Encode('http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/2.0/?method=track.getcorrection&api_key=' + apikey + '&artist=' + artist + '&track=' + track); //[processing the result in the web query, getting the correction for the artist and title] // eg: for artist := Bucovina and track := Mestecanis, the corrected values are //ArtistTitle := Bucovina; // TrackTitle := Mestecani?; //Now here is the tricky part: webquery := UTF8Encode('http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/2.0/?method=track.getInfo&api_key=' + apikey + '&artist=' + unescape(ArtistTitle) + '&track=' + unescape(TrackTitle)); //the unescape function replaces spaces (' ') with '+' to comply with the last.fm requests [some more processing] end; The webquery looks in a TMemo just right (http://ws.audioscrobbler.com/2.0/?method=track.getInfo&api_key=e5565002840xxxxxxxxxxxxxx23b98ad&artist=Bucovina&track=Mestecani?) Yet, when I try to send a GET() to the webquery using IdHTTP (with the ContentEncoding property set to 'UTF-8'), I see in Wireshark that the component is GET-ing the data to the ANSI value '/2.0/?method=track.getInfo&api_key=e5565002840xxxxxxxxxxxxxx23b98ad&artist=Bucovina&track=Mestec?ni?' Here is the full headers for the GET requests and responses: GET /2.0/?method=track.getInfo&api_key=e5565002840xxxxxxxxxxxxxx23b98ad&artist=Bucovina&track=Mestec?ni? HTTP/1.1 Content-Encoding: UTF-8 Host: ws.audioscrobbler.com Accept: text/html, */* Accept-Encoding: identity User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.23) Gecko/20110920 Firefox/3.6.23 SearchToolbar/1.22011-10-16 20:20:07 HTTP/1.0 400 Bad Request Date: Tue, 09 Oct 2012 20:46:31 GMT Server: Apache/2.2.22 (Unix) X-Web-Node: www204 Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * Access-Control-Allow-Methods: POST, GET, OPTIONS Access-Control-Max-Age: 86400 Cache-Control: max-age=10 Expires: Tue, 09 Oct 2012 20:46:42 GMT Content-Length: 114 Connection: close Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8; <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <lfm status="failed"> <error code="6"> Track not found </error> </lfm> The question that puzzles me is am I overseeing anything related to setting the property of the tidhttp control? How can I stop the well-formated URL i'm composing in the application from getting wrongfully sent to the server? Thanks.

  • ASP.NET MVC based CMS - dynamic generation of form helpers

    - by user252160
I am working on an ASP.NET MVC based CMS that presents a rather extreme case. The system must allow the user to add custom content types based on different fields, and for every field, one can add options and validations. The thing is that everything is stored in a complex DB and extracted at runtime using LINQ. I am pretty fresh with ASPNET MVC so the following dilemma came to mind How should I make the content creation view so that form helpers are not predefined int he view code but are loaded based on the type of the field ? Do I have to create a factory class that checks the value of the type property of the field, and then returns a helper based on that or there's a better way to do it. This one seems pretty rigid to me , because anytime I make a change in the Fieldtypes table, I will have to make sure to create a check for that new type too.

  • How to inject dependencies into a custom UserNamePasswordValidator in WCF?

    - by Dannerbo
I'm using a UserNamePasswordValidator in WCF along with Unity for my dependency injection, but since WCF creates the instance of the UserNamePasswordValidator, I cannot inject my container into the class. So how would one go about this? The simplest solution I can think of is to create a static proxy/wrapper class around a static instance of a UnityContainer, which exposes all the same methods... This way, any class can access the container, and I don't need to inject it everywhere. So I could just do UnityContainerWrapper.Resolve() anywhere in code. So basically this solution solves 2 problems for me, I can use it in classes that I'm not creating an instance of, and I can use it anywhere without having to inject the container into a bunch of classes. The only downside I can think of is that I'm now potentially exposing my container to a bunch of classes that wouldn't of had access to the container before. Not really sure if this is even a problem though?

  • jquery jumps to top on click event, return false or prevenDefault doesn't work

    - by Sebsemillia
    Hi, I have written a simple jquery script for a content slider. My problem is that the screen always jumps to the top position of the parent div when sliding the content. I've tried return false and preventDefault to cope with this effect, but the two just make the script not work anymore, nothing happens when I click the links.. So here is the jquery code: $(document).ready(function (){ var itemCount = $('.container div').size(); var itemWidth = $('.container div').width(); $('.container').wrap('<div id="AboutSlider"></div>'); $('#AboutSlider').css({'width':'640px', 'overflow':'hidden', 'position':'relative', 'height':'400px'}); $('#AboutSlider .container').css({'width':itemCount*itemWidth+'px', 'position':'absolute', 'height':'400px'}); $('.container .aboutContent').css({'padding-left':'0px'}); $('#AboutSlider .aboutContent').css({'width':'640px', 'float':'left', 'min-height':'400px'}); $('#AboutNav a').click(function(){ var integer = $(this).attr('rel'); $('#AboutSlider .container').animate({left:-640*(parseInt(integer)-1)}) $('#AboutNav a').each(function(){ $(this).removeClass('active'); if($(this).hasClass('button'+integer)){ $(this).addClass('active')} }); }); }); And here the respective html bit: <div id="Dienstleistungen"> <div class="left_column"> <h2>Meine Dienstleistungen</h2> <h3>KOMPETENZEN</h3> <ul id="AboutNav"> <li><h1><a href="#Kompetenzen" class="button1 active" rel="1" title="Frontend Entwicklung | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">&Uuml;berblick</a></h1></li> <li><h1><a href="#Frontend" class="button2" rel="2" title="Frontend Entwicklung | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">Frontend Entwicklung</a></h1></li> <li><h1><a href="#CMS" class="button3" rel="3" title="Content Management Systeme &amp; Online Shops | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">Content Management Systeme &amp; Online Shops</a></h1></li> <li><h1><a href="#SEO" class="button4" rel="4" title="Suchmaschinenoptimierung (SEO) | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">Suchmaschinenoptimierung (SEO)</a></h1></li> <li><h1><a href="#ScreenDesign" class="button5" rel="5" title="Screen Design | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">Screen Design</a></h1></li> <li><h1><a href="#Hand" class="button6" rel="6" title="Alles aus einer Hand | Sebastian B&ouml;hme">Alles aus einer Hand</a></h1></li> </ul> </div> <div class="container"> <div id="Kompetenzen" class="aboutContent right_columns"> <h1>&Uuml;berblick</h1> <p>Phasellus in massa.   • How to deal with presence or not of xml namespaces using xslt.

    - by Mycol
I have some XML/TEI documents, and i'm writing an XSLT 2.0 to extract their content. Almost all TEI documents has no namespace, but one has the default namespace (xmlns="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0"). So all documents has the same aspect, with unqulified tags like <TEI> or <teiHeader>, but if I try to extract the content, all works with "non-namespaced-documents", but nothing (of course) is extracted from the namespaced-document. So i used the attribute xpath-default-namespace="http://www.tei-c.org/ns/1.0" and now (of course) the only document working is the namespaced one. I can't edit documents at all, so what I'm asking is if there's a way to change dynamically the xpath-default-namespace in order to make work xpaths like //teiHeader both with namespaced and non-namespaced documents

  • Problem with Landscape and Portrait view in a TabBar Application

    - by JoshD
I have an TabBar app that I would like to be in landscape and portrait. The issue is when I go to tab 2 make a selection from my table then select tab 1 and rotate the device, then select tab 2 again the content does not know that the device rotated and will not display my custom orientated content correctly. I am trying to write a priovate method that tells the view what orientation it is currently in. IN viewDidLoad I am assuming it is in portrait but in shouldAutoRotate I have it looking in the private method for the correct alignment of the content. Please Help!! Here is my code: #import "DetailViewController.h" #import "ScheduleTableViewController.h" #import "BrightcoveDemoAppDelegate.h" #import "Constants.h" @implementation DetailViewController @synthesize CurrentLevel, CurrentTitle, tableDataSource, logoName, showDescription, showDescriptionInfo, showTime, showTimeInfo, tableBG; - (void)layoutSubviews { showLogo.frame = CGRectMake(40, 20, 187, 101); showDescription.frame = CGRectMake(85, 140, 330, 65); showTime.frame = CGRectMake(130, 10, 149, 119); tableBG.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 480, 320); } /* // The designated initializer. - by nav
Hi, I'm trying to display the page title (html title) on the default.aspx page of a custom site template. The template is based on a MOSS team site template. All that displays is the URL of the page as the page title. Can I change the code in the default.aspx and/or the sites master page to define the title myself? Details of the deafult.aspx and default.master page as below: Thanks. Default.aspx: <asp:Content ContentPlaceHolderId="PlaceHolderPageTitle" runat="server"> <SharePoint:EncodedLiteral runat="server" text="<%$Resources:wss,multipages_homelink_text%>" EncodeMethod="HtmlEncode"/> - <SharePoint:ProjectProperty Property="Title" runat="server"/> </asp:Content> default.master <Title ID=onetidTitle><asp:ContentPlaceHolder id=PlaceHolderPageTitle runat="server"/></Title>

  • dojox.widget.dialog: disable close button opacity animation

    - by James Maroney
I am nearly happy with my dialog widget now, only that there is a built-in behavior of the close button fading in and out with mouseover/out interaction. I have found no way to disable this feature such that the close button remains at full opacity anytime the dialog is open. Here's roughly the code I'm working from: var d = new dojox.widget.Dialog({modal:true,sizeMethod:"chain",closable:true}); d.startup(); d.attr('content', /*html content*/); d.attr('dimensions',[/*width*/, /*height*/ ]).show(); There's much logic that I'm omitting here for brevity, but this should be all that is specifically pertinent to the way I am constructing the dialog. Many Thanks.

  • Validate an Xml file against a DTD with a proxy. C# 2.0

    - by Chris Dunaway
I have looked at many examples for validating an XML file against a DTD, but have not found one that allows me to use a proxy. I have a cXml file as follows (abbreviated for display) which I wish to validate: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <!DOCTYPE cXML SYSTEM "http://xml.cxml.org/schemas/cXML/1.2.018/InvoiceDetail.dtd"> <cXML payloadID="123456" timestamp="2009-12-10T10:05:30-06:00"> <!-- content snipped --> </cXML> I am trying to create a simple C# program to validate the xml against the DTD. I have tried code such as the following but cannot figure out how to get it to use a proxy: private static bool isValid = false; static void Main(string[] args) { try { XmlTextReader r = new XmlTextReader(args[0]); XmlReaderSettings settings = new XmlReaderSettings(); XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); settings.ProhibitDtd = false; settings.ValidationType = ValidationType.DTD; settings.ValidationEventHandler += new ValidationEventHandler(v_ValidationEventHandler); XmlReader validator = XmlReader.Create(r, settings); while (validator.Read()) ; validator.Close(); // Check whether the document is valid or invalid. if (isValid) Console.WriteLine("Document is valid"); else Console.WriteLine("Document is invalid"); } catch (Exception ex) { Console.WriteLine(ex.ToString()); } } static void v_ValidationEventHandler(object sender, ValidationEventArgs e) { isValid = false; Console.WriteLine("Validation event\n" + e.Message); } The exception I receive is System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (407) Proxy Authentication Required. which occurs on the line while (validator.Read()) ; I know I can validate against a DTD locally, but I don't want to change the xml DOCTYPE since that is what the final form needs to be (this app is solely for diagnostic purposes). For more information about the cXML spec, you can go to cxml.org. I appreciate any assistance. Thanks

  • string extension method - Not available through WebMethod

    - by Peter Bridger
I've written a simple extension method for a web project, it sits in a class file called StringExtensions.cs which contains the following code: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Web; /// <summary> /// Useful extensions for string /// </summary> static class StringExtensions { /// <summary> /// Is string empty /// </summary> /// <param name="value"></param> /// <returns></returns> public static bool IsEmpty(this string value) { return value.Trim().Length == 0; } } I can access this extension method from all the classes I have within the App_Code directory. However I have a web page called JSON.aspx that contains a series of [WebMethods] - within these I cannot see the extension method - I must be missing something very obvious!

  • Is there a standard .NET exception to throw when a class doesn't implement a required attribute?

    - by a typing monkey
Suppose I want to throw a new exception when invoking a generic method with a type that doesn't have a required attribute. Is there a .NET exception that's appropriate for this situation, or, more likely, one that would be a suitable ancestor for a custom exception? For example: public static class ClassA { public static T DoSomething<T>(string p) { Type returnType = typeof(T); object[] typeAttributes = returnType.GetCustomAttributes(typeof(SerializableAttribute), true); if ((typeAttributes == null) || (typeAttributes.Length == 0)) { // Is there an exception type in the framework that I should use/inherit from here? throw new Exception("This class doesn't support blah blah blah"); // Maybe ArgumentException? That doesn't seem to fit right. } } } Thanks.

  • How to customize tooltip for silverlight control?

    - by KentZhou
SL provide ToolTipService.ToolTip for simple tooltip. I want to customize tooltip with my own user control. One way is to do something like: <TextBlock Text="Hello" > <ToolTipService.ToolTip> <TextBlock Text="I can help you." /> <!--replace this with user control --> </ToolTipService.ToolTip> </TextBlock> But what I want is: 1) create a style for tooltip, so that it can be set as something like <TextBlock Text="Hello" Style="{StaticResource TextBlockWithToolTip}" > 2) Content for tooltip can be set dynamically from datacontext, such as title, content, etc. How to implement it?

  • If Possible, How Can One Set Either a Background Color on Cells within a Sizer or Gridlines for the

    - by MetaHyperBolic
I am flailing about with wxWidgets, in particular, the wx.Sizer in wxPython. I have read the documents, I have a copy of wXPython in Action before me, and have set aside the problem to work on other things a better mental model of sizers hopefully gestated within my skull. None of this has worked. I am not grokking, or even getting to the point where I can bang about usefully, how sizers work. In HTML, I could at least set a background color on some div or td, or call forth borders so I could see how things are laid out. Here, I have a grey expanse and no idea which of the nested static box sizers from which it originates. I am giving static box sizers after making a mess out of the grid bag sizers. Either alternative would let me at least get a handle on how these work.

  • Multline Text in a WPF Button through C#

    - by Paul
How do I get multi-line text on a WPF Button using only C#? I have seen examples of using <LineBreak/> in XAML, but my buttons are created completely programmatically in C#. The number and labels on the buttons correspond to values in the domain model, so I don't think I can use XAML to specify this. I have tried the naive approach below, but it does not work. Button b = new Button(); b.Content = "Two\nLines"; or b.Content = "Two\r\nLines"; In either case, all i see is the first line ("Two") of the text.

  • Addressing a memory leak stops my UI from showing iphone

    - by dubbeat
Hi I've being getting a memory leak warning with a UITabbarcontroller. If I release the tabbarcontroller the warning goes away but the tabbar will not show any content. If I debug the app with the warning still in it the app runs but will crash after a couple of minutes UITabBarController *tabBarController = [[UITabBarController alloc] init]; tabBarController.view.frame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 460); tabBarController.viewControllers=localControllersArray; // Clean up objects we don't need anymore [promoTabOptionHome release]; [promoTabOptionInfo release]; [promoTabOptionEvents release]; [promoTabOptionBuy release]; [localControllersArray release]; // Finally, add the tab controller view to the parent view [self.view addSubview:tabBarController.view]; //[tabBarController release]; commenting out this line removes the warning but results in no content being shown
