• UISplitViewController programmtically without nib/xib, thank you.

  Hi, I usually create my projects without IB-stuff. The first thing I do is to strip off all references to xibs, outlets updated plist, etc and so forth. No problems, works great (in my world)! Now, I just installed 3.2 and tried to develop my first iPad app. Following same procedure as before, I created a UISplitView-based application project and stripped off all IB-stuff. Also, I followed the section in Apple's reference docs: "Creating a Split View Controller Programmatically", http://bit.ly/axgYAs, but nevertheless, the Master-view is never shown, only the Detail-view is (no matter what the orientation is). I really have tried to carefully look this through but I cannot understand what I have missed. Is there a working example of a UISplitViewController without the nibs floating around somewhere? I have googled but could not find any. Or do you know what I probably have missed? Regards, /Steve PS. Spare me the lesson why I should use the IB ;-) DS.

  I am creating an RDLC report where the dataset consists of several datatables. There is one parent table and several child tables. What I would like to do is display relevant data from each child table for each row in the parent table. Here is a simplified example: table1 = "Purchase" has columns PurhcaseID, PurchaseNumber, PurchaseDate table2 = "PurchasedItem" has columns PurchaseItemID, PurhcaseID, ItemDescription In my RDLC, I have a Purchase table grouped on PurchaseDate and would like to display the PurchasedItems for each Purchase. The current solution uses a subreport, but I do not like this because it leaves an ugly empty space when there is no data for the subreport display. (I would be fine with using a subreport if I could properly hide it without leaving an empty space.) I am not able to rewrite the stored procedure to return a single table, either. How are others dealing with this scenario?

• Populating Tcl Treeview with Sqlite Data

  Hello: I am building a Tcl application that reads off of a Sqlite Db. Currently, I can enter data into the database using the Tcl frontend. Now, I am trying to figure out how to display the data within the Sqlite Db from the Tcl frontend. After a little bit of research, I found that the treeview widget would work well for my needs. I now have the following code: set z1 [ttk::treeview .c1.t1 -columns {1 2} -show headings] $z1 heading #1 -text "First Name" $z1 heading #2 -text "Last Name" proc Srch {} {global z1 sqlite3 db test.db pack $z1 db close } When the "Srch" procedure is executed (button event), the treeview (z1) appears with the headings First Name and Last Name. Additionally, the Sqlite Db gets connected, then closes. I wanted to add code that would populate the treeview from the Sqlite Db between connecting to the Db and packing the treeview (z1). Does anyone know the correct syntax to populate a Tcl treeview with data from Sqlite? Thank you everyone in advance, DFM

• Hough transformation for iris detection in opencv

  Hi, I wrote the code for iris detection and it works well. Also I can crop the eye location of a face. Now I want to detect the iris of the crop image with applying the Hough transformation(cvHoughCircle). However when I try this procedure, the system is not able to find any circle on the image. Maybe, the reason is, there are noises in the image but I don't think it's the reason. So, how can I detect the iris ? I have the code of binary thresholding maybe I can use it, but I don't know how to do ?? If anyone helps I really appreciated. thx :)

• Change user email in Django without using django-profiles

  Hi guys, In my Django application I would like the user to be able to change the email address. I've seen solution of StackOverflow pointing people to django-profiles. Unfortunately I don't want to use a full fledged profile module to accomplish a tiny feat of changing the users email. Has anyone seen this implemented anywhere. The email address verification procedure by sending a confirmation email is a requisite in this scenario. I've spent a great a deal of time trying to a find a solution that works but to no avail.   Take a simple table like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Home Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Now lets say that a single cell is deleted so the table now looks like this: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Notice that "Home Base" is missing. Now in excel you can delete the cell and shift the rest so the finished product looks like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Virtual Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Test Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || And you can see we are left with a blank cell last row.   What is the procedure to setup Google Test to work under Eclipse on Mac OS X? I followed the instruction in README to compile and install gtest as framework from XCode. Now I want to use gtest with Eclipse. Currently, it compiles fine but fails during build. • Installing PHP extensions in Debian

  I'm trying to install the PECL extension pecl_http so that I can use PHP's http_negotiate_language() function. I'm running PHP5 on Apache2 and Debian Lenny. I installed the php_http package from the debian repo, however, I still can't use that function in my php scripts! The package also doesn't show up under phpinfo(). I tried installing it from PECL, but I could not. Is there some procedure for enabling these extensions in PHP? Kind of like a2enmod for apache? Note: This is a repost from http://forum.slicehost.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=4650 I also tried adding extension=pecl_http.so to my apache2/php.ini with no effect. Any guesses?

  Hi All, I tried to create linq-to-sqlite dbml using DbLinq but in vain. Each time I get different type of errors. May be I'm somewhere wrong. Can anyone tell me the step by step procedure to create the dbml file from the Dblinq source code. Edit: Steps I Followed: I downloaded the source file from this link. Edited the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file in \\DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder as 'DbMetal.exe -database:myDb.db3 -namespace:myNS -code:myCode.cs' -dbml:myDbml.dbml Tried to run the DbMetal project file to produce the executable but there was a runtime error since Options object in Parameters.cs was null. Hence downloaded the readymade exe file from this location Copied it into the \DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder Executed the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file I got a blank screen and Windows Error Msg "DbLinq has stopped Working" Any help? I've used flex/bison for parser, but I need to use ANTLR. The only thing I'm concerned about using ANTLR (or LL parser in genearal) is left recursion removal. In practical sense, how serious of removing left recursion in ANTLR? Is this a showstopper in using ANTLR? Or, nobody cares about it in ANTLR community? I like the idea of AST generation of ANTLR. In terms of getting AST quick and easy way, which method (out of the 2 removing left recursion methods) is preferable?

  Hello, normally I would use Python/Perl for this procedure but I find myself (for political reasons) having to pull this off using a bash shell. I have a large tab delimited file that contains six columns and the second column is integers. I need to shell script a solution that would verify that the file indeed is six columns and that the second column is indeed integers. I am assuming that I would need to use sed/awk here somewhere. Problem is that I'm not that familiar with sed/awk. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks! Lilly

When I go through with the debugger I get an exception when it comes to the following line: dgvCalls.Columns.Insert(1, msisnnColumn); I get an exception: Column cannot be added because its CellType property is null.   It's crunch time, deadline for my most recent contract is coming in two days and almost everything is complete and working fine (knock on wood) except for one issue. In one of my stored procedures, I'm needing to return a result set as follows. group_id | name A101 | Craig A102 | Craig Z101 | Craig Z102 | Craig A101 | Jim A102 | Jim Z101 | Jim Z102 | Jim B101 | Andy B102 | Andy Z101 | Andy Z102 | Andy The names need to be sorted by the first character of the group id and also include the Z101/Z102 entries. By sorting strictly by the group id, I get a result set as follows: A101 | Craig A102 | Craig A101 | Jim A102 | Jim B101 | Andy B102 | Andy Z101 | Andy Z102 | Andy Z101 | Jim Z102 | Jim I really can't think of a solution that doesn't involve me making a cursor and bloating the stored procedure up more than it already is. I'm sure a great mind out there has an elegant solution and I'm eager to see what the community can come up with. Thanks a ton in advance.

• MVC.NET project won't start under IIS 5.1 on Windows XP SP3

  I've a MVC.NET 2 project that runs fine under Windows 7 and will start on Windows XP if I use the Visual Studio Development Server, however, starting under IIS generates an error: Unable to start debugging on the web server With the message The specified procedure could not be found No errors in the system event viewer. If I start without debugging I get an "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error" The reason I run it under IIS is the project also includes some WCF wsHttp web services that use certificates, so the VS Development Server is not adequate for hosting those. I have already seen the links on SO that talk about adding the wildcard mapping. I've already done that, just as I've done on Windows Server 2003 where I successfully host MVC.NET RC2 for quite a while.

• Making an svg image object clickable with onclick, avoiding absolute positioning

  I have tried to change the images on my site from to svg, changing img tags to embed and object tags(standard procedure, i think). But, implementing the onclick function, which previously was contained in the img tag is proving most difficult. I found onclick had no effect when placed inside the object or embed tag. So, I made a div exclusively for the svg, and placed onclick in this div tag. But, no effect unless visitor clicks on the edges/padding of the image. I have read about overlaying a div, but am trying to avoid using absolute positioning, or specifying positions at all. Maybe there's a way to do it without specifying postions? Or maybe theres another way to apply onclick to a svg. Has anyone encountered this problem? Questions and suggestions are welcome.

  I was writing some program that uses the WM_CONCAT function. When I run this query: SELECT WM_CONCAT(DISTINCT employee_id) FROM employee WHERE ROWNUM < 20; It works fine. When I try to compile the relatively same query in a package function or procedure, it produces this error: PL/SQL: ORA-30482: DISTINCT option not allowed for this function FUNCTION fetch_raw_data_by_range RETURN VARCHAR2 IS v_some_string VARCHAR2(32000); BEGIN SELECT WM_CONCAT(DISTINCT employee_id) INTO v_some_string FROM employee WHERE ROWNUM < 20; RETURN v_some_string; END; I realize WM_CONCAT is not officially supported, but can someone explain why it would work as a stand alone query with DISTINCT, but not compile in a package?

  In the query the top part is getting all the years that will run in the stored procedure.
