  Hello all, I've got a vBoxLayout which contains 3 simple buttons, when I increase the size of the widget containing the layout, the spacing between the buttons increases. I would like to stop this behaviour and keep the buttons in a consistent and compact layout, regardless of the size of the parent widget. • MATLAB plot moving data points in seperate subplots simutaneously

  I wish to visualize the movement of a data point throughout space across a period of time within MATLAB. However, the way I want my figure to display is such that only a single instant is plotted at any given time. That was easy, I simply created a for loop to update my 3D plot display for every set of coordinates (x,y,z) in my data. However, I wish to display 4 different viewing angles of this plot at all times. I am well aware of how to setup subplots within MATLAB, that is not the issue. My issue is getting all 4 of these subplots to execute simultaneously so that all 4 subplots are always displaying the same point in time. I would appreciate if anyone could suggest how to handle this issue. • Most efficient way to download media files from a server from within an iPhone app.

  Hi, I have an iPhone application which contains a lot of media files, so far we have been able to keep the size of the iPhone app to less than 20 MB. We add new content with new updates, it would be difficult to keep the app size within the 20 MB limit. The right thing to do here would be to fetch the files on demand from a media/web server. If you have any pointers on how to go about doing this, please suggest. What we would need is to fetch the media files (.jpg/.png images ) on demand when the user taps on a small thumbnail for the image. Are there existing frameworks/servers that provide such services to iPhone clients. Thanks.

  I've been using this code as a queue that blocks on Dequeue() until an element is enqueued. I've used this code for a few years now in several projects, all with no issues... until now. I'm seeing a deadlock in some code I'm writing now, and in investigating the problem, my 'eye of suspicion' has settled on this BlockingQueue<T>.   I'm currently using a datagrid within a user control. The datagrid resizes based on the number of rows, and therefore goes off the webpage. I've tried wrapping the control around a ScrollViewer, but in order to have the scroll bar visible and working, I need to set the MaxHeight of the datagrid. The problem is that I don't know what the MaxHeight of the datagrid should be because it differs based on the size of the browser window appearing on the screen. Any suggestions on how to determine the correct size of the control?

• What's the correct way to hide/prevent access to wp-admin

  I'm dealing with this matter since a while, I have read a ton of articles and stuff out there but I couldn't find a place that shows the RIGHT way, standard, correct, whatever you like to call it, to prevent access to my wp-admin or wp-login.php On all Wordpress sites I see (the well made ones) you will never see anything if you type thesite.com/wp-admin As I could see, one way to do this is by restricting the access to that folder by creating an .htaccess file and restrict by IP the access to the folder. Seems to be the "cleanest" way to do. What I'm not sure about it is that I have a dynamic address provided by my ISP, so on a certain time my IP will change, that will force me to also change the .htaccess to my new address, I don't see that practical. I can set a range also, but by doing that I will also authorize access to all people within that range of IPs (other clients of my ISP for example). I'm then struggling to find the best/standard way to do this. Anyone can help me? Thanks

• C# socket blocking behavior

  My situation is this : I have a C# tcp socket through which I receive structured messages consisting of a 3 byte header and a variable size payload. The tcp data is routed through a network of tunnels and is occasionally susceptible to fragmentation. The solution to this is to perform a blocking read of 3 bytes for the header and a blocking read of N bytes for the variable size payload (the value of N is in the header). The problem I'm experiencing is that occasionally, the blocking receive operation returns a partial packet. That is, it reads a volume of bytes less than the number I explicitly set in the receive call. After some debugging, it appears that the number of bytes it returns is equal to the number of bytes in the Available property of the socket before the receive op. This behavior is contrary to my expectation. If the socket is blocking and I explicitly set the number of bytes to receive, shouldn't the socket block until it recv's those bytes?, any help, pointers, etc would be much appreciated.

• Cross-Browser jQuery text-zoom implementation

  I've got some code to increase/decrease font size. This is giving me a headache because each browser seems to implement the $.css('font-size') differently (see jquery bug). The part that's really killing me, though, is that Firefox is scaling up okay, but when I use the scale down function below, it scales up. Webkit & IE are both working as expected. Any ideas on that? The task is simple: I have a list of 10,000 text files stored in one folder, and I'm trying to read each one, store it as a string variable, then run it through a series of functions, then save the final output to another folder.   I need to have different settings for my unit tests and different settings for my integration tests. Example For unit tests, I would like to do WebMock.disable_net_connect!(:allow_localhost => true) And for integration tests, I would like to do WebMock.allow_net_connect! Also, before the start of an integration test, I would like to make sure that solr is started. Hence I want to be able to call config.before(:suite) do SunspotStarter.start end BUT, only for integration tests. I do not want to start my solr if its a unit test. How do I keep their configurations separate? Right now, I have solved this by keeping my integration tests in a folder outside the spec folder, which has its own spec_helper. Is there any better way?

• Compile error in java application using netbeans - linked project

  I have a project which has shared functionality between three other projects and have linked these to existing projects as I normally would using the add project functionality of the libraries folder. This all used to work however when I started up Netbeans yesterday it just wasn't working as in the other projects won't compile even though the projects are linked. It can recognise the packages - just the actual classes themselves were not recognised. I have checked the dist folder of the shared project and the Shared.jar file exists. Any suggestions?

• Cannot set focus on input field in infoWindow

  Hi Why is focus not set to noteTitle? I am using google maps API V3. The getNoteForm() returns a input field "noteTitle". The $("#noteTitle").focus() works fine when executed in firebug.
