Hello All, I have a big problem with Google Chrome and its memory. My app is displaying to user several image charts and reloads them every 10s. If i enable purge-memory-button for chrome (--purge-memory-button parameter) it`s not help. Images is in PNG24. So i think that the problem is not in cache. May be Google Chrome is not releasing memory for old images. Please help. Any suggestions. Thanks.

So I added some code in my css and there are boxes that appear over every image that is attached to a post. I've wanted to number the images and show the image number in the box(1...n). IE showing hidden div under certain circumstances

After googling around and finding a lot of ie bugs I still did not find a description of the problem I have. The initial situation is a standard one. We have a tooltip which is actually a hidden div that will be displayed on mouseover at a given location. The div is hidden with display:none and contains a table with the content. We tried different libraries for showing the div (scriptaculous and jQuery Cluetip) but the effect is the same. The problem: Everything is fine as long as the contents fits the width of my window. But when I resize it until the horizontal scrollbar is activated the content of the hidden div will be shown at the end of the page when the tooltip is activated. This is really strange as it happens only under these premises. When more than one tooltip is involved the browser might even crash (and under Vista takes the whole system with him duh). I know it's a bit complicated to explain but I hope that someone at least had heard of that bug and can point me into the right direction.

I have a MySQL database with a fairly large table where the products are. Each of them has its own id and categoryId field where there is a category id belongs to this product. Now I have a query that pulls out products from given categories such as: SELECT * FROM products WHERE categoryId IN ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 34, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 ) Of course, come a WHERE clause and ORDER BY sort but not in this thing. Let's say that these products is 250k and the visits are over 100k per day. Under such conditions in the table slow_log registered weight of these queries with large generation time. Do you have any ideas how to optimize the given problem? Table engine is MyISAM.

Keeping a web app project organized?

Hi, I'm writing a web app, using jsp to create the page content. I need a pretty good amount of javascript to make the app work. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to structure my project, such that it doesn't become a mess? This is a broad question, but the basic problem is that I'm insert javascript code directly into my jsp content. Then I might have some external js files. Ids and such are strewn between multiple files. I'm not really sure what a best practice is for keeping this type of project organized. Do you always keep your javascript in separate files? There has to be a few hooks in the jsp pages though for them, right? I tried using GWT because I'm really a c/java developer, and I was hoping it would help keep my project more organized (definitely helps) - but GWT is a pain to use with jsp, it really wants you to do all UI generation client side after the page is done loading, doesn't work for what I need to do. Again, broad question, any tips would be great, Thanks

AS3 and cross-domain

I think i'm a little confused. I'm loading an swf, located at domainB.com/secondsubfolder, from an swf located at domainA.com/firstsubfolder. I always put the crossdomain.xml near the "loader" swf in domainA.com/firstsubfolder. It seems to not work, except if I put the crossdomain.xml in the root of the loaded content, domainB.com/crossdomain.xml. Did I always do it wrong, or is it because of some server setting? Using another domain for the loaded content, e.g. domainB_beta.com/secondsubfolder on another server just works as usual. Where do I have to look to change these settings? Does it depend on server settings, or am I doing something wrong? I'm using the better_exposed_filters module to create a set of exposed filters for a view. One of the filters is being displayed as a select field, and I would like the field to only display options that are actually associated with content in the database. Currently, I am doing this using the hook_form_alter() method. Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

Move links div aside h1, above tagline p

I have a page that has CSS media queries in it, and I was requested to do this: Mobile layout: Desktop layout: Now, the HTML code is placed like this: <div id="content"> <h1>the title</h1> <p>this is the tagline of the site</p> <ul> <li>link 1</li> <li>link 2</li> <li>link 3</li> </ul> </div> I'm having quite a problem trying to achieve the desktop layout. I tried wrapping <h1> and <p> in a <div> and style it with float: left, but it didn't look as requested (the tagline is wider). I also tried with position: absolute for the <ul>, but also didn't look as requested (make the #content wider is not an option). Do you have any suggestions to achieve this without using javascript? Update: I've uploaded the code to my Koding so you can see what I'm actually doing. This is the CSS. I'm also using normalize.css. The problem I'm having now is what do the different browsers show: I think the problem might be in how do the browsers calculate the tagline's width, but as you can try with the code, if you make the tagline's text shorter, it looks more like Opera's rendering. Have I stumbled with a bug or am I making some mistake in my CSS?

Would Lisp be extremely difficult for a new(ish) programmer to learn?

I've got a little experience with Python (enough to where I can do if/else/elif and some random number generation), but I've always had a weird fascination with the Lisp languages. I downloaded some scheme source code to look at the syntax but it was pretty much gibberish to me. For a programmer with only a little programming experience like myself, given some good books, websites, and some time, would it be particularly difficult to learn either Common Lisp or Scheme?
