• Problem with Clojure function

  Hi, everyone, I've started working yesterday on the Euler Project in Clojure and I have a problem with one of my solutions I cannot figure out. I have this function: (defn find-max-palindrom-in-range [beg end] (reduce max (loop [n beg result []] (if (>= n end) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range beg end))))))))) I try to run it like this: (find-max-palindrom-in-range 100 1000) and I get this exception: java.lang.Integer cannot be cast to clojure.lang.IFn [Thrown class java.lang.ClassCastException] which I presume means that at some place I'm trying to evaluate an Integer as a function. I however cannot find this place and what puzzles me more is that everything works if I simply evaluate it like this: (reduce max (loop [n 100 result []] (if (>= n 1000) result (recur (inc n) (concat result (filter #(is-palindrom? %) (map #(* n %) (range 100 1000)))))))) (I've just stripped down the function definition and replaced the parameters with constants) Thanks in advance for your help and sorry that I probably bother you with idiotic mistake on my part. Btw I'm using Clojure 1.1 and the newest SLIME from ELPA.

• How to make a database service in Netbeans 6.5 to connect to SQLite databases?

  I use Netbeans IDE (6.5) and I have a SQLite 2.x database. I installed a JDBC SQLite driver from zentus.com and added a new driver in Nebeans services panel. Then tried to connect to my database file from Services Databases using this URL for my database: jdbc:sqlite:/home/farzad/netbeans/myproject/mydb.sqlite but it fails to connect.   I am developing a java app and I need to use jnativehook library. I have downloaded the .zip from https://code.google.com/p/jnativehook/downloads/list . There is a bin folder,src folder,build.xml,build.num and 3 .txt files when I extracted this folder.   I recently used a solution to the one-thread-at-a-time problem whe using Jlayer to play mp3 songs in Java. But this solution by Kaleb Brasee didn't hint at how you could stop the player, i.e how could one then call player.close()? Kaleb's code was: Executor executor = Executors.newSingleThreadExecutor(); executor.execute(new Runnable() { public void run() { /* do something */ } }); and this is the code I put in run() if(player != null) player.close(); try{ player = new Player(new FileInputStream(musicD.getPath())); player.play(); }catch(Exception e){} The problem is that much as this solves the problem of keeping the gui active while the music plays (in only one other thread -- what i'd wanted), I can't start playing another song :-( What could I do?

• Why is conversion from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 not the same in Windows and Linux?

  I have the following in code to convert from UTF-8 to ISO-8859-1 in a jar file and when I execute this jar in Windows I get one result and in CentOS I get another.   In the following code, i have a method to get a Vector of persons with the same zodiac sign. persoane is a Vector. I keep getting a NullPointerException at the if condition (persoane is definetly not null). I am unable to see why.   Hi, I want to import DLL file in my web site project. I have dll file "my.dll" in folder C:\DLLDir and I'm using the code : [DllImport("C:\\DLLDir\\my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] This works ok. But I want to use relative path (web site root path) . I'm trying to put "my.dll" in "bin" or root folder and I'm using the code : [DllImport("my.dll", EntryPoint = "Out32")] but I'm getting the error: Unable to load DLL 'my.dll': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E) Any ideas?

  Hey, so I have the following IL: il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); Which works fine. It basically returns the argument given. This, however: il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldarg_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Stloc_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ldloc_0); il.Emit(OpCodes.Ret); Does not work. It crashes with the exception "Operation could destabilize the runtime.". Now, I know that the purpose of that is useless but I'm trying to reach my goal by small steps. Why does that not work?

  If I have a strongly typed data table with a column for values of type Int32, and this column allows nulls, then I'll get an exception if I do this for a row where the value is null: int value = row.CustomValue; Instead I need to do this: if (!row.IsCustomValueNull()) { int value = row.CustomValue; // do something with this value } Ideally I would like to be able to do this: int? value = row.CustomValue; Of course I could always write my own method, something like GetCustomValueOrNull; but it'd be preferable if the property auto-generated for the column itself simply returned a nullable. Is this possible?

  I have a Spinner with an ArrayAdapter that feeds Values into it. The Problem is that the text is to long for the view and the result is a very very ugly spinner. As can be seen in the screenshot: I tried to pass the Id of my own TextView into the Adapter but everytime the spinner should be shown I get an Exception that the Id I supplied is not valid: 04-26 17:38:39.695: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(4276): android.content.res.Resources$NotFoundException: Resource ID #0x7f09003a type #0x12 is not valid Where do I have to define the TextView? In a separate xml file? With a surrounding viewgroup? It would help me a lot if I could see an example of the adapter initialization and the textview definition?

  I'm using the Google app engine and JDO. What is the best way to update a JDO class definition without having to wipe the data store contents first? I'm not sure if this is specific to JDO on GAE, but I noticed that when I simply change the name of one of my persistent fields from svotes to votes, an exception is thrown (java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: svotes). I expect once my site goes live I might want to make some changes to my JDO class definitions, such as adding a field or something. Any suggestions for how to update the data definitions without having to wipe the database?

  Why default factory WON'T return full name of the controllers (with namespaces)? This creates a problem when I try to regiser controllers' names for dependency injection. Here is how I register controllers right now according to this situation. Even this brings up the pages without exception. • Could not load file or assembly error even when reference has been removed

  Could not load file or assembly 'Payflow_dotNET_2.0' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040) I tried to reference the payflow SDK and got this error.But I am no longer trying to reference it. I have removed all references to this dll. and Now I am just trying to get the project to start in VS but I still get this error. I am not trying to add the dll anymore.If i have removed the reference to this, why am I still getting this error? How can I remove anything else that may still be causing my program to look for this file? Thanks!

  Hello I'm trying to run JUnit4 test cases on Eclipse 3.4.2 but it's not even starting for me. I am sure that I properly have junit-4.7.jar in my build path and the test application.   I am developing a Java project using Eclipse. The project uses another project called engine, which I have added in my project build-path. As I need to call a dabo class, called House, in one of my project class, named Window, I have used the following code as usual: import ee.asus.kernel.House; I got however the following error in compiling time: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: Unresolved compilation problems: The import ee cannot be resolved House cannot be resolved to a type House cannot be resolved to a type House cannot be resolved to a type at main.ee.asus.GUI.FrameWindow.Window.<init>(Window.java:10) at main.ee.asus.GUI.StartApplication.main(StartApplication.java:13) It's worth to point out that my prject and the dabo project use the same directory/packages names. (We have modified the source code) I followed all the steps to create the vendor branch:: created the vendor branch for old version (3rd party library) created the vendor branch for latest version (3rd party library) copied the latest version to current folder using (usign svn_load_dirs.pl script) structure of vendor repository in svn URL/vendor/library/3.5.0 URL/vendor/library/3.7.0 URL/vendor/library/current I have the library-3.5.0 used/modified at URL/trunk/library/customized-library I have a problem when I try to merge the difference between URL/vendor/library/3.7.0 and URL/vendor/library/3.5.0 to URL/trunk/library/customized-library I am at the folder where URL/trunk/library/customized-library is checked out and I use following command to do the merge svn merge URL/vendor/library/3.5.0 URL/vendor/library/current . --accept PARAMETERS when I use theirs-conflict for accept parameter, It ignores all of my changes to the old version and copies files from 3.7.0 when I user mine-conflict, it ignores the files in 3.7.0 when I use postpone, it throws exception "tree conflict" Thanks Gyan
