  Hello, what kind of functionality should be covered in functional test? How to prioritize what are the functionality that must be covered in functional test. I can understand it depends upon on the project, whats the functionality present the project. Lets take a example of stackoverflow. Suppose we are developing a basic working model of this. What kind of functional test must be covered in this. Just brief what the key points while writing functional tests. • Opening IProject properties when another (adaptable to IProject) object is selected

  I have a custom view displaying a hierarchy model of the current project. The root element is of class MyProject which is my own class, but it represents one Eclipse IProject, and it's adaptable to IProject. I have a "properties" menu option in the popup menu for that view, and I'd like to open up IProject's properties when a MyProject object is selected. PropertyDialogAction only looks for property pages registered for MyProject and doesn't give me a chance to offer an adapter -- or, at least, I don't know how to offer one. What's the proper solution for this? In the meantime, I've overridden PropertyDialogAction to handle my class in the special way I require, but that seems like quite a kludge to get this done.

I've a class Message which has two properties destinationNumber and textMessage. Before calling the gateway, I want to validate the data received by the rest service. I've two questions relatives to how to validate the data : Where should I put the validation rules ? in the model or in the controller How should I use the sfValidator* classes from Symfony to validate the data (ie. where's the documentation for using sfValidator or where can I find some examples) Any help would be appreciated.

• When to use memberEnd and when navigableOwnedEnd (in Altova notation) in an UML class diagram?

  I've download a trial of Altova UModel and am starting using UML. As a practical beginning I am modelling a personal information manager application, which includes a web bookmark managing. A Bookmark can belong to many (or no) Tags at once and a Tag can contain many (or no if all the bookmarks it contained were deleted) bookmarks. The relation has to be both-way navigable - a user has to be able to see all Bookmarks with a particular Tags ans all Tags of a Bookmark. What is the correct UML relation between Bookmark and Tag classes? As far as I understand UML now, it is an Association (not an Aggregation). But for a 2-way navigable many-to-many relation I can specify ends roles as "memberEnd" or "when navigableOwnedEnd", graphically the connection looks the same in both cases (an arrow) (which as I understand means navigability) but a property appears in the class box in case only when "memberEnd" is used. How should I specif it in the model If I mean both-way navigable many-to-many relation there?

  I am looking into thrift for serialization of data. But Document says cyclic structs - Structs can only contain structs that have been declared before it. A struct also cannot contain itself One of our requirement is Struct A List of Child items Items(Items are Struct A ) So reading requirement i can't have Struct within itself at any level? can i have it in cyclic model as i have it above. Struct is not member of Struct directly but it has some other member and it contains struct. Their document is not so well descriptive. Is it possible in Thrift? Does protobuf supports it?

  I have a function in my model that I need to use multiple conditions when querying. Additionally I would like to also have partial matches. I currently have: public function searchClient($search_term) { $rows = $this->fetchAll( $this->select() ->where('first_name = ?', $search_term) ); return $rows->toArray(); } Which is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name = 'foobar';" I would like to have a function that is the equivalent of "SELECT * FROM clients WHERE first_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR last_name LIKE '%foobar%' OR home_phone LIKE '%foobar%';" How would I create such a query within Zend_Db_Table?

• OpenGL Performance Questions

  This subject, as with any optimisation problem, gets hit on a lot, but I just couldn't find what I (think) I want. A lot of tutorials, and even SO questions have similar tips; generally covering: Use GL face culling (the OpenGL function, not the scene logic) Only send 1 matrix to the GPU (projectionModelView combination), therefore decreasing the MVP calculations from per vertex to once per model (as it should be). Use interleaved Vertices Minimize as many GL calls as possible, batch where appropriate And possibly a few/many others. I am (for curiosity reasons) rendering 28 million triangles in my application using several vertex buffers. I have tried all the above techniques (to the best of my knowledge), and received almost no performance change. Whilst I am receiving around 40FPS in my implementation, which is by no means problematic, I am still curious as to where these optimisation 'tips' actually come into use? My CPU is idling around 20-50% during rendering, therefore I assume I am GPU bound for increasing performance. Note: I am looking into gDEBugger at the moment Cross posted at Game Development

• JSF skips phases - How to debug that?

  Hey fellows, I have to debug a foreign jsf application thanks god. The problem is, that I submit a form, but the values aren't carried over. With a phase listener I can see, that the life cycle doesn't run completely through, so to say it skips phase 2 -5: After the restore view phase, the render response phase is directly called. I miss the apply values, validation, update model actions and so on. So, this could be a chicken-and-egg problem: 1. The responsible phases aren't called, so the new form input can't be carried over. 2. The system doesn't recognize any new input and therefore directly renders after restoring the view. I checked that there is no call of responseComplete() oder renderResponse(). I'm stuck somehow. Any idea to validate one of the two hypothesis? Or how to debug that in general? Did anybody have a similar problem?

• iPhone: Grouping records in multiple UITableView views

  Let me first say, I know how to create sections and group records within a UITableView. What I am wanting to do is something similar to creating a photo album. So, I have all my data objects coming from core data, and, I want to be able to create a custom group, such as "My Trip to Mexico" and "First Birthday". Then, the user should be able to add objects/records into new sections/albums. So, basically the user is creating custom sections with their own custom names, and then choosing what records should go into that section/album. So, I am just wondering what is the best way to do this? I am thinking that I would just create some extra attributes for my core data model. Or, would I create a whole new "Album Section" object, and somehow use that? Point me in the right direction. :)

• Replacing TCP/IP pipe with WCF

  So currently my company is using a TCP/IP connection to talk between server and client programs, right now we are building this connection using System.RunTime.Remoting, which is clunky and not that reliable. It was built about 5 years ago and the model keeps getting reused and it's starting to propagate some issues, ports used, refused connections, etc. I'm trying to find some resources on how to change this over to WCF but I'm not really sure what I am looking for or what I should be searching. If you want some more information on what were actually doing with it I can go into some detail, but I'll need to pull up the code and make sure I explain it completely. thanks!

Do they actually save the ad/post in the database before continuing to Step 2 (Preview) but set a flag (like a boolean field called preview set to true)? It looks like they set a token paramater but I'm not sure what it's used for) I'm interested in this because it seems to go against the CRUD/REST and I thought it would be good to know how it worked.   Hi, On a webserver (shared hosting provider) I published a website with a ADO.Net Framework model in use with MySql Connector 6.3.1. When I request a page, a Security Exception will be happen with this error messages: "LinkDemand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer ". This exception raised when code collect the listeners of a tracksource: public class MySqlTrace { private static TraceSource source = new TraceSource("mysql"); static MySqlTrace() { foreach (TraceListener listener in source.Listeners) // <-- Exception throw here { // ... } } } The web.config doesn't have any trace data or system.diagnostics. My question is, why will a get a LinkDemand security exception during collecting the source listeners. What can maybe be wrong in here?

  I need to create an input form that will allow a user to enter any number of values for a particular attribute. I've tried several approaches, all of which seem to have various levels of failure. The latest model bean looks something like: public class Product { private String name; private String[] tags; ...accessors... } The input fields look something like: <h:inputText id="name" value="#{product.name}"></h:inputText> <h:inputText id="tag0" value="#{product.tag[0]}"></h:inputText> My plan was to allow the user is to use javascript to add additional form fields as needed. This type of setup gives me a 'Target Unreachable' error. What am I missing? I am using JSF 1.1 on WebSphere 6.1

• Counts of events grouped by date in python?

  This is no doubt another noobish question, but I'll ask it anyways: I have a data set of events with exact datetime in UTC. I'd like to create a line chart showing total number of events by day (date) in the specified date range. Right now I can retrieve the total data set for the needed date range, but then I need to go through it and count up for each date. The app is running on google app engine and is using python. What is the best way to create a new data set showing date and corresponding counts (including if there were no events on that date) that I can then use to pass this info to a django template? Data set for this example looks like this: class Event(db.Model): event_name = db.StringProperty() doe = db.DateTimeProperty() dlu = db.DateTimeProperty() user = db.UserProperty() Ideally, I want something with date and count for that date. • Devise authenticating with username instead of email

  I'm new to Devise and have it working fine by using an email address as the authentication key. However, I have a use case which requires a username instead and I can't seem to get it working. I've added a string column, "username" to the users table, changed the fields from :email to :username in the sign-in form, and have changed the authentication key in devise.rb to :username yet when I go to sign in I'm met with this prompt: "Please enter an email address". • Link redirects to "show" action instead of the indicated in routes.rb

  I'm working with Ruby on rails 2.3.4 and I'd like to have a link that executes an action when clicked. The relevant part of the routes.rb file looks like this: map.search_filter_relevance "/anuncios/buscar", :controller => 'announcements', :action => 'search_filter_relevance' My view(it's the model's index page) looks like this: <%= link_to 'M&Aacute;S RELEVANTES', search_filter_relevance_path %> And my controller looks like this: def search_filter_relevance raise params.inspect unless params[:announcements].nil? or params[:announcements].empty? @announcements = params[:announcements].order_by_featured end end The problem is that when I click the link I get an error due to some null value in the Show action! I'm not accessing that action at all...why is executing it?

My concern over TDD is that where does it fit in our SDLC. Suppose i get a requirement of making order processing system. Now, without having any model & design of this system, how can i start writing test. Shouldn't we require to define the entities & its attribute to proceed.   Hi, I'm trying to rewrite some Spring 1.2 code to Spring 3.0 one. Currently I'm stuck with JSP resolved by URL problem. Application uses separate JSP files with different layouts for serving the same model from the same controller. The JSP is switched using interceptor, that intercepts the url and changes the view. For example: /design_one/mypage.htm -> MyPageController -> /design_one/mypage.jsp /design_two/mypage.htm -> MyPageController -> /design_two/mypage.jsp Is there a way to make same or similar functionality using something better than raw interceptors?

• Update Store Logo Programmatically Magento

  I've noticed that magento keeps the URL to the logo it uses for each store you setup in the "core_config_data" table. If I run this SQL: SELECT * FROM `core_config_data` WHERE path = 'design/header/logo_src' I get a list of stores and their associated logo. I also get a config_id and a scope_id. I'd like to be able to update these logo's programmatically behind the scenes but I can't figure out how to relate this table's data back to a store name. config_id and store_id got to somehow link back to another table that sets up the relationship. Magento's EAV model, ugh :) Any ideas?

• Saving a 'Date' using DataMapper on AppEngine+JRuby

  I have a a model as follows: class Total include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :amount, Float, :default => 0.00 property :day, Date belongs_to :calendar end I am trying to select a specific Total from the data-store. class Calendar include DataMapper::Resource property :id, Serial property :name, String has n, :totals def get_total_for(date) return Total.first(:day => date, :calendar => self) end end When I call get_total_for(DateTime.now) I receive the following error on the call to the data-store. java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: day: org.jruby.RubyObject is not a supported property type. Is Date not allowed for usage in AppEngine? Is this a DataMapper issue? I have tried changing the name of the :day property to something else (hoping it was just a name conflict) but it doesn't seem to matter. Thanks for any help you can provide.

• Having trouble routing a page in ruby

  I currently have a users model and controller, whenever a user is created it makes there profile url at example.com/users/userid. I also have a users/new page and a users/index page. The issue is that when I try to create a users/selected users page rails thinks its a user id and gives me this error. "Couldn't find User with id=selectedusers." I've previously been able to fix this by directly calling the pages in the controller e.g index, or new but I'm not sure how to handle a page that doesent have a function in the controller. • Best canvas for drawing in wxPython?

  I have to draw a graph of elements composing a topological model of a physical network. There would be nodes and arches, and the latter could be unidirectional or bidirectional. I would like to capture the clicking events for the nodes and the arches (to select the element and show its properties somewhere), and the dragging events for the nodes (to move them around) and arches (to connect or disconnect elements). I've done some research and I've narrowed the alternatives down to OGL (Object Graphics Library) and FloatCanvas. I would not like to go down to the DrawingContext, but it is not discarded if necessary. Which canvas option would you choose?
