• jQuery Drag and Drop Checking Question

  i am new to using jQuery and I just want to know how I can check whether a draggable object has been removed from the droppable object. Example, i have a dog and I dragged it to a doghouse which has a lightbulb that will light up indicating that the dog is there. When i drag the dog out of the doghouse, the lightbulb should go off again indicating the dog's absence. Help me please coz I really don't have any idea how to do this. Thanks in advance. :)

  Im trying to select all the li tags of the document and check if it hasClassName('yes') so if it has, it will remove it. But im having a TypeError: Object [object HTMLLIElement], has no method 'hasClassName' error. This is the DOM method: document.observe("dom:loaded", function() { $(document.body).select('input').each(function(element) { element.observe('click', function() { init(); }); init(); }); }); The previous code will take the init fuction and check the if there are checked inputs and add them the 'yes' class name, but if I un-check those inputs, the class remains.   The title isn't very clear but I'll try to explain. So, what i am looking for is a way to obtain this behavior. Meaning, whichever method is called in the wrapper class, call that method for all the Wrapped class objects and return the average of their results. Can it be done? how?   My Visual Studio 2005 is a French one, installed on a French OS. All the exceptions I receive during debug or runtime I obtain also in French. Can I however do something that the exceptions messages be in English? For goggling, discussing etc. I tried the following: Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture = new CultureInfo("en-US"); throw new NullReferenceException(); obtained Object reference not set to an instance of an object. This is, surely, cool... but, as I work on a French project, I will not hardcode forcing Thread.CurrentUICulture to English. • Jetty 7 Continuations: How to *not* redispatch the request?

  I'm using Jetty 7 continuations to implement some asynchronous processing. What I'm trying to do is start off the continuation (via .suspend()), and then hand the continuation off to some other object that will compose the response, which works fine. But Jetty keeps redispatching the response (with isInitial = false) to the servlet, and I don't want or need that, because the response is being dealt with by some other object. So, I'd like to find a way to explicitly not redispatch the request on timeout or expire, because I'm using an event-driven series of callbacks to actually produce the response.

• jQuery style Constructors in PHP

  Is there a way to instantiate a new PHP object in a similar manner to those in jQuery? I'm talking about assigning a variable number of arguments when creating the object. For example, I know I could do something like: ... //in my Class __contruct($name, $height, $eye_colour, $car, $password) { ... } $p1 = new person("bob", "5'9", "Blue", "toyota", "password"); But I'd like to set only some of them maybe. So something like: $p1 = new person({ name: "bob", eyes: "blue"}); Which is more along the lines of how it is done in jQuery and other frameworks. Is this built in to PHP? Is there a way to do it? Or a reason I should avoid it?

  I use Linq to Sql (although this is equally applicable in Entity Framework) for my models, and I'm finding myself creating buddy classes for my models all the time. I find this time consuming and repetitive. Is there an easy way to automatically generate these buddy classes based on the models? Perhaps a visual studio macro? • ASP.NET RadioButtonList help. If I set a selectedItem, that item doesn't react to SelectedIndexChang

  Hi Guys, I have a RadioButtonList on my web form. I have tried two different means to set the selected item. I have tried in the markup, and in code, like the Page_Load event. It sets and displays correctly. My problem is that the selected radio button no longer responds to the SelectedIndexChanged event. The other items works as expected and if I remove the code that sets the selectedItem, then the radio button works as expected. Is there any way I can set a radio button through code, and it still behaves as I would expect. I am guessing, if u force a button to be selected, then it doesn't change.   My Java Web application uses Hibernate to perform ORM. In some of my objects, I use lazy loading to avoid getting data until I absolutely need it. The problem is that I load the initial object in a session, and then that session is destroyed. When I later attempt to resolve the lazy-loaded collections in my object I get the following error: org.hibernate.LazyInitializationException: failed to lazily initialize a collection of role: common.model.impl.User.groups, no session or session was closed I tried associating a new session with the collection and then resolving, but this gives the same results. Does anyone know how I can resolve the lazy collections once the original session is gone? Thanks... --Steve

• Drupal Views pulling Data Fields

  I'm a little new to drupal but have been using things like devel module and theme developer to speed up the learning process. My question, is it possible to theme an entire views BLOCK from a single views tpl.php page OR even a preprocess? When I'm grabbing the $view object I can see results $node-result, it has all of the results, but it doesn't have all my views fields. I'm missing things like, node path, taxonomy titles and paths, etc. From my understanding, Drupal wants you to individually theme EACH output field. It seems rather superfluous to create so many extra templates when I've already got over HALF of my results coming through the $view object Would outputting node over field make this easier? Or am going in the wrong direction with $view-result? Thanks!

  Hi guys, I was just curious as to what the rule of thumb was for models. Generally, I use them only for situations where I need to add/edit or update database entries for an object. However, I'm building an app at the moment that has a "config" table which holds various data, such as last updated, which will control when certain features in the app should be displayed. In this instance, I will mostly need to retrieve data from the config table. Is it worth putting these config methods in model? I'm interested to hear how more experienced coders approach the MVC methodology in CI - example pseudo methods (e.g., what methods relating to the same object you'd use in the model and the controller) would be most helpful.

• NSNotification on multiple objects

  Hi, In my NSApp delegate I add an observer of an object that is an NSWindow subclass that gets initiated in the delegate itself and that posts a notification once the window gets clicked. The selector is also in the delegate. From that same delegate class I initiate another object which when initiated adds itself as an observer for another window of the same NSWindow subclass of above and the selector is in this newly initiated class too. Both notifications get posted but the problem is that they get posted in both classes... Is this normal? I was hoping that it only got posted once.

The context goes something like this. There are Ships and Missiles, for which Ships will use Missiles and interact with them A Container exists which will hold 'a list' of ships. One must have a ship, in order to access the list of ships. One must have a missile in order to be able to access the list of missiles. That feels awkward. My question boils down to "Is there a better way to do this?" Automatic object container creation Automatic object insertion Container access without requiring an object in the list to access it.   I'm tring to customize error rendering in my form according to this example. Here is my code: if ($this['message']->hasError()) { $error_msg = '<ul>'; foreach ($this['message']->getError() as $error) $error_msg .= "<li>$error</li>"; $error_msg .= '</ul>'; } return $error_msg; but when $this['message'] has error this code returns '<ul></ul>' so it seems foreach ($this['message']->getError() as $error) causes no iterations $this['message']->getError() returns sfValidatorError object - maybe something changed in symfony 1.4 and it isn't iterable anymore... At first I thought that all magic in that example happened because of object being placed in $error by iteration implements __toString() but it seems no iterations happens at all...

• Using django-haystack, how do I perform a search with only partial terms?

  I've got a Haystack/xapian search index for django.contrib.auth.models.User. The template is simply {{object.get_full_name}} as I intend for a user to type in a name and be able to search for it. My issue is this: if I search, say, Sri (my full first name) I come up with a result for the user object pertaining to my name. However, if I search Sri Ragh - that is, my full name, and part of my last name, I get no results. How can I set Haystack up so that I can get the appropriate results for partial queries? (I essentially want it to search *Sri Ragh*, but I don't know if wildcards would actually do the trick, or how to implement them). This is my search query: results = SearchQuerySet().filter(content='Sri Ragh')

  This is a simplified example - I have two threads: Can JavaME and/Proguard ever reorder the obX = ... statements, such that thread_B will have a null pointer exception at ob2.someMethod? thread_A: Object ob1 = null; Object ob2 = null; ... ob1 = something1; ob2 = something2; thread_B: if (ob2 != null) { ob1.someMethod(); ... } P.S. I do realise that synchronising these will avoid the issue. Synchronisation has both a performance overhead, and more importantly, a chance to introduce deadlock.

• initWithCoder works, but init seems to be overwriting my objects properties?

  Hi guys, I've been trying to teach myself how to use the Archiving/Unarchiving methods of NSCoder, but I'm stumped. I have a Singleton class that I have defined with 8 NSInteger properties. I am trying to save this object to disk and then load from disk as needed. I've got the save part down and I have the load part down as well (according to NSLogs), but after my "initWithCoder:" method loads the object's properties appropriately, the "init" method runs and resets my object's properties back to zero. I'm probably missing something basic here, but would appreciate any help! • How can I save BioPerl sequence nested features in genbank or embl format?

  In BioPerl, a sequence object can have any number of features, and each of these can have subfeatures nested within them. For example, a feature may be a complete coding sequence of a gene, and its subfeatures might be individual exons that are concatenated to form the full coding sequence. However, when I use BioPerl to write a sequence object to a file in genbank or embl format, only the top-level features are written to the file, not the sub-features nested within the top-level features. How can I store my subfeatures in sequence files? Should I just convert all my subfeatures into top-level features, and then reconstruct the tree structure next time I read in the sequence?
