• DTD is prohibited in this XML document -- how to change permissions?

  I am using a 3rd-party .NET component which requires an XML configuration file. I'm am using this in an ASP.NET application. I get an error when configure the XML with the following dtd: <!DOCTYPE prod-config SYSTEM "prod-config.dtd"> The error is as follows: For security reasons DTD is prohibited in this XML document. To enable DTD processing set the ProhibitDtd property on XmlReaderSettings to false and pass the settings into XmlReader.Create method. prod-config.dtd is sitting in the same directory as the XML config file. I don't have access to the component code to modify XmlReaderSettings, ProhibitDtd etc. Is there anotherway I can modify or tag the XML file to permit the DTD to be accessed? (FYI, the component is Oracle Coherence .NET client)

• Rails Resque workers fail with PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly

  I have site running rails application and resque workers running in production mode, on Ubuntu 9.10, Rails 2.3.4, ruby-ee 2010.01, PostgreSQL 8.4.2 Workers constantly raised errors: PGError: server closed the connection unexpectedly. My best guess is that master resque process establishes connection to db (e.g. authlogic does that when use User.acts_as_authentic), while loading rails app classes, and that connection becomes corrupted in fork()ed process (on exit?), so next forked children get kind of broken global ActiveRecord::Base.connection I could reproduce very similar behaviour with this sample code imitating fork/processing in resque worker. (AFAIK, users of libpq recommended to recreate connections in forked process anyway, otherwise it's not safe ) But, the odd thing is that when I use pgbouncer or pgpool-II instead of direct pgsql connection, such errors do not appear. So, the question is where and how should I dig to find out why it is broken for plain connection and is working with connection pools? Or reasonable workaround?

• Easy_install of wxpython has "setup script" error.

  I have an install of python 2.5 that fink placed in /sw/bin/. I use the easy install command sudo /sw/bin/easy_install wxPython to try to install wxpython and I get an error while trying to process wxPython-src-2.8.9.1.tab.bz2 that there is not setup script. Easy-install has worked for several other installations until this one. Any help on why it's busting now? EDIT: The error occurs before dumping back to shell prompt. • Spring 3 Security Authentication Success Handler

  I am using form-login for security and I am trying to implement an authentication success handler, but I am not sure how to go back to the resource that was initially requested before the login process. By default I think it implements a SimpleUrlAuthenticationSuccessHandler and I tried to mirror that class implementation. But it sets a setDefaultTargetUrl(defaultTargetUrl) and perhaps thats where the magic happens that it remembers the resource to go back to after the login process. Any help is greatly appreciated. • PDF Manipulation with Adobe's Form Input Fields

  Hello, I am trying to simplify a process where I currently use my hand calculations of X & Y Co-Ordinates of each value. Which works fine, but is causing me a lot of pain as I have to do quite a number of PDF's. I know that I can open a PDF and insert "input fields" within Adobe Acrobat Pro, which it would be great if I could use PHP to connect to those input fields and insert a value from a PHP Form. WORKFLOW:: PHP FORM PHP PROCESSING ENGINE TO FINAL PDF WITH FORM VALUES IN THE LOCATION OF THE ADOBE INPUT FIELDS. If someone has some information on something like this it would be much appreciated.

  I have an ISAPI filter that I am using to do URL rewriting for my CMS. The values are missing. I'm expecting either my "test1" or "test2" header values to appear, but they are not. Am I doing something wrong here?

  I experiment with a lot of open source software and I've noticed a fair amount of server type applications in the open source world use libevent to facilitate event-based processing rather than spawn multiple threads to handle requests. I also do a lot of .NET programming (it's my core job function), and I'm interested in learning how libevent relates to the .NET event model. Are events in .NET the equivalent of libevent for C programs? Should I try to learn libevent and attempt to use it in custom .NET server applications or is using the standard .NET event model basically the same thing?

  I have a client application developed in .net seding a request to wcf service and supposed to send reponse .if execution time with in 1 minute,there is no error,if it exceeds 1 minute the error is Inner exception: This request operation sent to net.tcp://localhost:18001/PitToPort/2008/01/30/StockpileService/tcp did not receive a reply within the configured timeout (00:01:00). The time allotted to this operation may have been a portion of a longer timeout. This may be because the service is still processing the operation or because the service was unable to send a reply message. Please consider increasing the operation timeout (by casting the channel/proxy to IContextChannel and setting the OperationTimeout property) and ensure that the service is able to connect to the client how to increase the time out and how?What is the best solution.

• Wait for a single RabbitMQ message with a timeout

  I'd like to send a message to a RabbitMQ server and then wait for a reply message (on a "reply-to" queue). Of course, I don't want to wait forever in case the application processing these messages is down - there needs to be a timeout. It sounds like a very basic task, yet I can't find a way to do this. I've now run into this problem with both py-amqplib and the RabbitMQ .NET client. • asp.net connection reset with long running process

  In an asp.net web form, I keep getting a connection reset error message. The page is doing a some long running processing (about 2-5 minutes). I have no problem when the web request comes from the same machine as the web server. But when the request originates across the network, I get a connection reset error about 1:30 or 2 minutes into waiting for a response. I have set the in web.config for this application and put the application it's own application pool. What else can I try?

  In my application i am using word automation to get the text content from the file. It is working fine no issues. But at the instant when word automation is processing, if i open the word file, it is throwing a dialog with message (any file) "This file is in use by another application or user. (C:\User\xyz\AppData...\Normal.dotm)". When close the dialog, it asking for save the file "normal.dotm"...template file. This happens only in MSWord 2007 not in MSWord 2003. can any one tell the solution please.

  Hi, I'm trying to write a small application that simply reads data from a socket, extracts some information (two integers) from the data and sends the extracted information off on a serial port. The idea is that it should start and just keep going. In short, it works, but not for long. After a consistently short period I start to receive IOExceptions and socket receive buffer is swamped. The thread framework has been taken from the MSDN serial port example. The delay in send(), readThread.Join(), is an effort to delay read() in order to allow serial port interrupt processing a chance to occur, but I think I've misinterpreted the join function. I either need to sync the processes more effectively or throw some data away as it comes in off the socket, which would be fine. In other words, I'd like to develop an application using a single payment processing API, but be able to easily switch between payment gateways, such as Authorize.Net, Payflow Pro, Braintree, PayPal, Google, Amazon, etc. This question gives some Java solutions, but the suggestions all look horrible. Isn't there anything more like ActiveMerchant for Java? I really need a good Java solution, to the point of building my own if necessary. But I don't want to reinvent the wheel if it exists. Are there any solutions for Python or PHP? Ideally, I'd like to find something similar to Ruby's ActiveMerchant, which looks exceptionally complete. Are there any other Ruby solutions?

• Logging IP address for uniqueness without storing the IP address itself for privacy

  In a web application when logging some data I'd like to make sure I can identify data that came at differetn times but from the same IP address. On the other hand for privacy concerns as the data will be released publicly I'd like to make sure the actual IP cannot be retrieved. So I need some one way mapping of the IP addresses to some other strings that ensures 1-1 mapping. If I understand correctly then MD5, SHA1 or SHA256 could be a solution. I wonder if they are not too expensive in terms of processing needed? I'd be interested in any solution though if there is implementation in Perl that would be even better.
