• Exim: Change sender address when sending mails out of local network

  We have a working exim setup at a site, where users can send and receive mails. We are trying to setup a server to send some warnings and errors using email to an address that is outside the local network. The problem is: The program that sends the mails sends them using the username it runs under and the local hostname of the server. This cause the mails to have a sender of format: [email protected]. Exim sends these mails to the ISP's SMTP server, which rejects the mails as they have an illegal or unverifiable sender (the internal address). I'm thinking I should configure exim to rewrite the sender when: - sender's domain is on the local network - receiver's domain is outside the local network I tried setting some kind of rewriting in the exim config, but did not manage to get it to work. I'd show what I have tried, but I ran out of time on the last visit to the site, and had to revert to the original version losing all the changes I tried.

  I have an internal exchange 2010 server that receives no outside email and sends no email outside. I'd like to send a notification email to an outside email when a user receives a message on the internal exchange server. This message would simply say "A Message has been sent to your XYZ Email, go check it" Theoretically, the AD would have an external email address associated with the user's AD Account. I'm hoping that a process could be triggered when an email is received on this exchange server and I could take some type of action to look up the AD account for the recipient, grab the external email address and send a standard email to that user. This would be a global rule for all exchange accounts. The problem is that I don't know where to start. Thanks!

• Question regarding IPv6 - Solicited-Node Address with a Link local scope

  Situation: A small LAN comprising a Windows 7 Ultimate x54 PC, 2 XP Pro x86 PCs and an Asus router.The Win 7 box has IPv6 enabled. There are no other IPv6 enabled devices on the LAN. In my firewall I see numerous requests originating from the Win 7 PC, which are for the Multicast address ff02::1:ff.... which is a Solicited-Node address query and has a scope of 2 which equates to the local link. As far as I knew local link addresses are filtered by routers, hence local link. Given that situation I'm wondering why I'm seeing these queries being generated to various addresses? Any ideas? • Getting "is not a valid mailbox" when email sent to primary address

  Anyone outside my domain who sends me an email is getting a bounced email with the following error from Exchange: 550 550 5.1.1 [email protected] is not a valid mailbox (state 14). I can't receive emails from external addresses until I send an email to one of my secondary addresses. Once I sent it to my secondary address, my primary address will start working for a while and fail again after a few hours. We use Exchange 2003. Anyone has any suggestions on what to try?

  I'm new to qmail it's setup and working like it should. I need to set it to do something a bit different. I need it to take all mail that would be incoming to it and relay all of that to one address as opposed to whatever address they could have possibly set it to. The idea is we have setup a test enviroment and we want no e-mails from a test server to actually go out to real people so this relay server will catch all of that outgoing mail and throw it into a test e-mail account inbox to check for errors and so forth. I'm honestly not sure if this is even possible so if it's not let me know now so I can come up with a different method to manage all these test e-mails. Thanks

  So we have 2 servers all running at the same web host. We have bind MySQL to listen on the public ip-address of the database server and the web server connects to it from the public ip. Both servers run on the same private network. Currently, the DB connect method from our php script takes about 3ms to connect to the MySQL database server host. My question is, would MySql data interaction from the web server be faster if we bind it to listen on the private lan address on the database server instead of the public IP? or is it the same regardless and it wont make a different.

  apache dont send me mp3 header even when use direct address to the file, it means i can play it with flash audio players on my web pages, but when i tried to download from direct address on my server i got "Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset" or sometimes gives me a file with mp3 extension that has just 13B files-size, and when i open that file in gedit/notepad there is just: <html></html> i dont have any problem with php files and images, but mp3 files never be send to browser for download or play. i added this code to httpd.conf: AddType audio/mpeg .mp3 but there is not any difference!! thanks in advance

  I'm having a problem getting emails to bounce to a specific email address, different to the From address. A particular client requires that we send emails from a specific email address (call it [email protected]). Our Exchange admins have created an account on the Exchange box so that we can log in and send from that address. Our Exchange server is spoofing that address / domain. This works fine. Unfortunately the emails sent from [email protected] are not bouncing back to us. They are presumably bouncing back to the contact account at clientcompany.com (which may or may not exist). I've inserted a header [email protected] with the assumption that this field determines where bouncebacks are sent. Other documents indicate that this field should never be populated by the originating SMTP system. Other websites again talk about a field called Errors-To which is apparently non-standard. So - which field is the correct one, and what does it depend on? Any ideas why my Return-Path is not working? I'd really like to get Exchange to correctly bounce a message addressed to an invalid server! update: Continuing to dig, and my Return-Path work was only adding an extended property at the end of the header block, but Exchange appears to be still adding its own Return-Path value at the top. Delivered-To: [email protected] Received: by 1.1.1.1 with SMTP ... Return-Path: <[email protected]> Received: from ... ... ... Subject: Test Message-ID: ... Return-Path: [email protected] According to the Microsoft.com, I cannot set the Return-Path as it is determined by the MAIL FROM - which seems consistent with what I've previously read. But now I'm stuck - how do I change this MAIL FROM value programmatically within Exchange 2007?

  I have this type of data categories: today news - news item jobs news - news item general news - sub category news - news item So i have followed the very good tutorial 'Building an iPhone App Combining Tab Bar, Navigation and Tab' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBnPfAtswgw and all is good with the 1st two 'todays news' and 'jobs news' but can't figure out the best method for implementing the sub category table view? Do i use the same table view but reload it with the sub categories then some how work out when one is click that it's a sub category or is there a better method?   Hi. I am attempting to create a progress gauge in the status bar for my application, and I'm using the example in Cody Precord's wxPython 2.8 Application Development Cookbook. I've reproduced it below. For now I simply wish to show the gauge and have it pulse when the application is busy, so I assume I need to use the Start/StopBusy() methods. Problem is, none of it seems to work, and the book doesn't provide an example of how to use the class. In the __init__ of my frame I create my status bar like so: self.statbar = status.ProgressStatusBar( self ) self.SetStatusBar( self.statbar ) Then, in the function which does all the work, I have tried things like: self.GetStatusBar().SetRange( 100 ) self.GetStatusBar().SetProgress( 0 ) self.GetStatusBar().StartBusy() self.GetStatusBar().Run() # work done here self.GetStatusBar().StopBusy() And several combinations and permutations of those commands, but nothing happens, no gauge is ever shown. The work takes several seconds, so it's not because the gauge simply disappears again too quickly for me to notice. I can get the gauge to show up by removing the self.prog.Hide() line from Precord's __init__ but it still doesn't pulse and simply disappears never to return once work has finished the first time.   Hi, I'm trying to avoid using Interface Builder as much as possible. At the moment I have the view controller created via code and change views via code as well. I now need one of the steps to send the app into a new view with a tab bar, that will allow me to change views as well. Ideally, what I'd do is tell the current view controller to add a Tab Bar to the bottom, but I'm not sure if that's doable, so I might have to swap the UIViewController with a UITabBarController? I've tried all of the right-click menus, customize options, Function keys and Google searches that I can think of but to no avail. This is exactly the kind of humiliation that brings sobriety to my ever-growing ego as a developer. I'm actually posting this on StackOverflow.com for the world to see. Next, I will be just as humiliated when someone replies to this and tells me precisely how simple it is and how ignorant that I am for not knowing the simple key combination or finding it on Google. If I hit the same exactly address but written with latin alphabet characters: maps.google.com/maps/api/geocode/json?address=akadimias 16&sensor=false, it works and returns the right result. I'm using a timer to move these labels but the problem is that when i make the interval of this timer low (1-10 for example) the application takes very high percentage of CPU Usage, And when i make it higher(200 -500 ) the movement of the labels becomes intermittent or not smooth movement even that the user may not be able to read the news in Comfortable way. • Applescript access to last.fm app via application icon in menu bar

  Hi, I want to create an Applescript to drive the last.fm player app. I'm trying to do this via last.fm application icon in the menu bar rather than using the main application menus, as this approach (I think) won't cause last.fm to switch to the foreground. The overall plan is to bind my script to a quicksilver trigger so I can stop|start|skip|love|ban|tag tracks from the keyboard. My problem is I can't find what UI element to bind the applescript to. I've used UI Browser to scan through the UI object model but it draws a blank with the last.fm icon in the menu bar. Any thoughts appreciated.

  In android, the notification bar at the top has a shadow most of the time. However, sometimes, such as when an app has it's title-bar showing, or in some other cases (such as in the twitter app or the market) that shadow effect is gone. My guess is that the shadow is supposed to be there when the content underneath can scroll. In my app, however, the content underneath can't scroll, and I think the shadow looks bad on the top part of my logo. Does anyone know how to disable it?

• getting JSlider bar to move on mouse click event

  Hi, I have a JSlider which shows bet sizes (for a poker game) I am trying to achieve the effect that when a mouse click occurs the slider jumps forward by a bet amount (i.e. a big blind amount) rather than just incrementing by one. If the mouse click happens to the left of the bar i want it to decrement by a fixed amount else increment. I looked into attaching a mouse listener, but do not know how I can use the event to find out on what side of the bar the mouse was clicked. Any ideas?
