  • Calling C# code from Java?

    Does anyone have a good solution for integrating some C# code into a java application? The code is small, so I could re-write in java, but I would rather reuse the code if possible. Don't repeat yourself, etc. Also, I know I can expose the C# as a web service or whatever, but it has some security/encryption stuff in there, so I would rather keep it tightly integrated if possible. Edit: It's going to be on a server-based app, so "downloading" another runtime is irrelevant.

  • Should I worry about running out of HierarchyIDs?

    When you ask for a new HierarchyID between two others, the result gets progressively longer. For example, between 2/5.6 and 2/5.7 there's only 2/5.6.1 and other 4 component paths. The HierarchyID data type is limited to 800 some bytes, so you can't repeat this forever. Then again, integer types are also limited, but it isn't a problem in practice. Should I periodically defragment my table so that height doesn't grow unbounded?

  • Permanent file changes on iPhone simulator

    I'm in trouble with paths, relative paths, NSBundle and all the path/file related operations :) While i run the simulator everthing goes right but all the file changes are not permanent, so everytime i run my app i have to repeat the initial setup of my app. The question: What is the proper way to read and write files (from resource dir) and make all the file changes permanent (updated into the project folder) ?     Lets say I want to call a function repeatedly if the user selects a CheckBox named "repeat" but the calls to the function should stop as soon as the user 'unchecks' the CheckBox. I tried using the 'Checked', 'Click' and 'Tap' event of the CheckBox but once the loop starts, it does not sense any changes in the checkbox's state. I even tried using a loop inside another button's _Click method, but then that creates a lock on the Button's 'pressed' state. Any ideas/alternate suggestions?
