  • What's right for me: htAccess, form submittion, HTTP header authentication w/ PHP?

    I am creating a website with multiple sections--admin, client, user, and anonymous--each user group having less access then the next. I am wondering what form of authentication would be best for my use? I have heard the if you are just dealing with a websites then a web form is for you (because it's prettier). HTTP header authentication with PHP is said to get clunky/sloppy. htAcess is pretty much the hard core of various authentication methods I have looked up, but is it too much?

It insists on using annotations, no-arg constructors, doesn't work with anonymous class instances, doesn't work with scala collections, has an outdated string-based query model, etc. I'm looking for something that really fits Scala. Does it exist? Or do I have to make it?

    Where can I write to without modifying site permissions? I need to store a value on the server that will remain when all sessions have closed and can be re-read when a new session is started.     when use mmap to allocate some anonymous mem, we often set the start address as 0/null so mmap will figure out the starting address by itself. And to get the start address, it will work thought the whole virtual memory space to find a hole which could put the chuck of mem to be allocated. I guess this is calculated as user cpu instead of sys cpu. If the virtual memory is fragmented, then the time to find the starting address will use more user cpu, is my understanding correct

    I am using the return from the following call as the datasource for a grid. public object GetPropertyDataSourceWithCheckBox( ) { return ( from p in LocalProperties join c in GetCities( ) on p.CityID equals c.CityID orderby p.StreetNumber select new { Selected = false, p.PropertyID, p.StreetNumber, p.StreetName, c.CityName } ).ToList( ); } I get a checkbox in the grid, but it is READ-ONLY. [For the record, the grid is DevExpress.] Is there a way around this, short of creating a non-anonymous class?
