• Does tempdb Get Recreated From model at Startup?

  In my last post Does the tempdb Log file get Zero Initialized at Startup? I questioned whether or not tempdb is actually created from the model database or not at startup.  There is actually an easy way to prove that this statement, at least internally to the tempdb database is in fact TRUE.  Many thanks go out to Bob Ward (Blog | Twitter) for pointing this out after trading emails with him. • PivotViewer demo for photographers

  I have a friend (Sandro Rizzetto) that is also a photographer. A good one, but his job is in IT. For these reasons, after reading some posts of mines, he built a PivotViewer page to navigate its photo database. • Capturing index operations using a DDL trigger

  Today on twitter the following question came up on the #sqlhelp hash tag, from DaveH0ward : Is there a DMV that can tell me the last time an index was rebuilt? SQL 2008 My initial response: I don't believe so, you'd have to be monitoring for that ... perhaps a DDL trigger capturing ALTER_INDEX?
