  • Sharepoint SSRS: Unexpected Error Encountered

    We are running an intranet website hosted on Sharepoint 2007, serving reports to users via SSRS. Recently, our users are experiencing error when trying to access certain reports with the error message "An unexpected error has occurred". After trying many things, to cut a long story short we manage to temporarily solve the problem by manually running UPDATE STATISTICS on the tables in the database. However, this error will periodically crop up again and again, running UPDATE STATISTICS immediately solved it. I had suggested to run a daily job in the server to auto run UPDATE STATISTICS every few hours or so but was rejected by my team lead. Is there any other workaround for this error? Why does UPDATE STATISTICS solve the problem, I still not very understand?

  • Where to find iPhone system buttons and icons graphics?

    Hey guys, I'm trying to find a way to use the original Apple system buttons and icons in a web site. Is there a way to get these original graphics in png format? There are not-so-nice ways to obtain them of course. Two I was thinking of: Save them from this link, then convert to png. Take screen captures on the iPhone itself, and cut the icons from the saved images. Is anyone aware of a nicer way to obtain the original graphics? Does anyone know where they are stored on the Mac?   • Is there an equivalence to CDOSYS AutoGenerateTextBody in .NET

    I'm porting some VBScript code which generates emails using the standard CDOSYS Message object. The Message oject has a property AutoGenerateTextBody which when true will cause it to automatically create the TextBody property value when you assign HTML to the HTMLBody property. Hence creating the typical text/plain and text/html alternatives in the message body. However .NET appears to be missing this function. The MailMessage object does have the ability to create alternative views but there doesn't appear to be a way to easily create the text body content from the HTML content. I'm not necessarily looking for an auto-magic option but I do need a solution to taking what is an HTML string and converting it to a reasonable plain text representation. Just dropping all the HTML markup doesn't cut it. Is there a tool buried somewhere in the existing .NET framework that can do this?

  • How do i make my text wrap in a <div> with a large border radius

In webkit browsers(i tested both chrome and safari) the overflow hidden cuts the text outside the border. Firefox just renders text outside the border. I also tried this without overflow:hidden; but again the text just rendered outside the border.

    I've got a business app in C#, with unit tests. Can I increase the reliability and cut down on my testing time and expense by using NModel or Spec Explorer? Alternately, if I were to rewrite it in F# (or even Haskell), what kinds (if any) of reliability increase might I see? Code Contracts? ASML? I realize this is subjective, and possibly argumentative, so please back up your answers with data, if possible. :) Or maybe an worked example, such as Eric Evans Cargo Shipping System? If we consider Unit tests to be pecific and strong theorems, checked quasi-statically on particular “interesting instances” and Types to be general but weak theorems (usually checked statically), and contracts to be general and strong theorems, checked dynamically for particular instances that occur during regular program operation (from B. Pierce's Types Considered Harmful, where do these other tools fit? We could pose the analogous question for Java, using Java PathFinder, Scala, etc.

  • jQuery: split and hide html data

    Hi guys! I need to split somehow some html data (a text with html tags) into two parts and hide the second one with a show/hide link. The thing is all texts are being stored in the database with html tags. Some of those texts are short, but some are really long. We don't want't to show long ones, so one of the options is to show a teaser with a show/hide link. I can't just cut the string though (let's say first 300 characters), because it'll break html code of the page. I'm looking for a solution/suggestions how to show a teaser of the text using jQuery without breaking the html code of the page. Thank you.

I'd like to make the code more readable. I know I can declare my own, but are there no Windows macros for these values?   • How can I efficiently group a large list of URLs by their host name in Perl?

    I have text file that contains over one million URLs. I have to process this file in order to assign URLs to groups, based on host address: { 'http://www.ex1.com' = ['http://www.ex1.com/...', 'http://www.ex1.com/...', ...], 'http://www.ex2.com' = ['http://www.ex2.com/...', 'http://www.ex2.com/...', ...] } My current basic solution takes about 600 MB of RAM to do this (size of file is about 300 MB). Could you provide some more efficient ways? My current solution simply reads line by line, extracts host address by regex and puts the url into a hash.   • How to add line breaks in RSS feeds?

    I'm building my own custom RSS feed in PHP. I want the tag to contain line breaks to make the text more readable. However, I can't seem to figure out how to do it correctly. No matter what I try some RSS reader interprets it incorrectly. Is there some standard best way to add a line-break in and RSS 2.0 feed? I have tried "\n", which works in NetNewsWire on the Mac, but gets ignored by the built-in Safari browser's RSS reader. I have tried <br />, which works in the Safari RSS reader, but results in all the text after the being cut off in NetNewsWire.

  • Crashing the OS X Pasteboard

    I have an application that reads in text by emulating CMD-C copy commands and reading the pasteboard - unfortunately this the only way to achieve what I need. Occasionally, something goes wrong in execution (not sure yet if it's related to the copy command or not) and the app crashes. Once in a while, this has a knock on effect on the system-wide pasteboard - any other application that is running will crash if I attempt a copy, cut, or paste. Is there a robust way to handle this - something I should be doing with the NSPasteboard before exiting? Any information on what might be happening is appreciated.   • Using only alphanumeric characters(a-z) inside toCharArray

    Below you will find me using toCharArray in order to send a string to array. I then MOVE the value of the letter using a for statement... for(i = 0; i < letter.length; i++){ letter[i] += (shiftCode); System.out.print(letter[i]); } However, when I use shiftCode to move the value such as... a shifted by -1; I get a symbol @. Is there a way to send the string to shiftCode or tell shiftCode to ONLY use letters? I need it to see my text, like "aaron", and when I use the for statement iterate through a-z only and ignore all symbols and numbers. I THINK it is as simple as... letter=codeWord.toCharArray(a,z); But trying different forms of that and googling it didn't give me any results. Perhaps it has to do with regex or something? Below you will find a complete copy of my program; it works exactly how I want it to do; but it iterates through letters and symbols. I also tried finding instructions online for toCharArray but if there exists any arguments I can't locate them.   • SimpleModal bug when positioning HTML5 video

    I am trying to use simple modal to display a modal window containing a video. I'm using the HTML5 "video" tag to do this. Using JQuery and SimpleModal, I can get it working in Chrome and Firefox, but for some reason Safari fails to maintain the centered positioning of the modal dialog for the video. In other words, when you scroll up and down in the windows, the modal window stays in its place, but the video scrolls up and down with the rest of the content outside the window. I've put together a 29 line piece of HTML code that you can cut and paste to test. https://pastee.org/z5sw Anyone know what I can do to fix this? I've been trying for a few hours now and no combination of JQuery, SimpleModal, or CSS changes can seem to fix this. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

  • iPhone - Get a pointer to the data behind CGDataProvider?

    I'm trying to take a CGImage and copy its data into a buffer for later processing. The code below is what I have so far, but there's one thing I don't like about it - it's copying the image data twice. Once for CGDataProviderCopyData() and once for the :getBytes:length call on imgData. I haven't been able to find a way to copy the image data directly into my buffer and cut out the CGDataProviderCopyData() step, but there has to be a way...any pointers?   • UITextView on iPad INCREDIBLY Slow

    I have an NSMutableArray of custom views (that are pretty much 1 UITextView and 1 UILabel with a custom back ground image), these are created as they are need (I start with 2 (though the first one is only 2 UITextFields and the other is normal) of these). Now my issue here seems to be this: as soon as I try to edit any UITextView past the one in the 2nd view, it starts to run incredibly slow, not the app, just the textview. For example, as I type, the little blinky guy lags behind the text and when I click to copy/paste/cut/etc you can see the little balloon fly in from the upper left corner every time. I have run the static analyzer for leaks and come up with nothing and run it alongside some other the testing software in XCode and it does not appear to have any reason for this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • SSMS Results to Grid - CRLF not preserved in copy/paste - any better techniques?

    When I have a result set in the grid like: SELECT 'line 1 line 2 line 3' or SELECT 'line 1' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 2' + CHAR(13) + CHAR(10) + 'line 3' With embedded CRLF, the display in the grid appears to replace them with spaces (I guess so that they will display all the data). The problem is that if I am code-generating a script, I cannot simply cut and paste this. I have to convert the code to open a cursor and print the relevant columns so that I can copy and paste them from the text results. Is there any simpler workaround to preserve the CRLF in a copy/paste operation from the results grid? The reason that the grid is helpful is that I am currently generating a number of scripts for the same object in different columns - a bcp out in one column, an xml format file in another, a table create script in another, etc...

  • Share pre-initialized GIT repository

    We were sharing a GIT repository via file-sharing system (smb://) and got it badly corrupted (a power cut meanwhile the post-send :P). Being new to GIT, trying to fix it I made it even worse and I lost all the refs (left with the object folder). Since the incident I haven't had the time to look at the problem and have just been keeping committing to my local clone. So my question is : Is there a way to copy the local repository back to the location of the old repository and make it a shared repository in order to keep some track of previous the history ? That's all I could figure out (I'm still a git-noob), any other solutions are more than welcome ! Thanks in advance !

    Hi, well this is driving me crazy. We have a command like so: <CommandBinding Command="ApplicationCommands.Paste" CanExecute="HasClipboardData" Executed="OnPasteExecuted"/> And the code for OnPasteExecuted is this: private void OnPasteExecuted(object sender, ExecutedRoutedEventArgs e) { CurrentView.Paste(); e.Handled = true; } That code gets executed twice, and I have no idea why, we also have the other commands: Cut, Copy, Undo, Redo, those work just fine, the problem is only with Paste. Let me know if you have any idea of what could be going on. Thanks!

  • ASP.NET site freezing up, showing odd text at top of the page while loading, on one server

    I have various servers (dev, 2 x test, 2 x prod) running the same asp.net site. The test and prod servers are in load-balanced pairs. One of these pairs is exhibiting some kind of (super) slowdown or freezing every other page load or so. Sometimes a line of text appears at the very top of the page which looks something like: 00 OK Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2010 01:50:09 GMT Server: Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered_By: ASP.NET X-AspNet-Version:2.0.50727 Cache-Control:private Content-Type:text/html; charset=ut (the beginning and end are "cut off".) Has anyone seen anything like this before? Any idea what it means or what's causing it?

  • How do sprites work?

    How do sprites work? I've seen sprites from old school games like Super Mario Brothers, and wondered how they're animated to make a game. They're always presented as one big image map, so how are they used? For Mario (as an example) are there precalculated image co-ordinates that outline mario, and are swapped between various mario sprites to produce animation? Or are sprites pre "cut" during game initialization using precalculated images co-ordinates and stored in memory somewhere? Obviously I know nothing about game development.

  • Create a Font using strings pulled from a string table.

    I am writing a tool to create an otf or ttc with only characters defined in our localized string table, so we can cut down memory usage. I already have the information for the Japanese characters we are using but I am unable to find an example of creating a new font based around these characters. Does anyone know of a good example or even the interface I can access to do this? I am working in C# with .NET 3.5. I am looking into Volt and TTOasm from Microsoft, but I am not sure if they will do exactly what I need. Any information is appreciated. Thanks, Matt Smith

  • Why is IE7 hiding my overflow when, as far as I can tell, all it's containing elements have overflow

    If you visit the site in question (haddongrant.com) and go to the Artwork section, if you click on an image and view it's stack in Safari, Chrome or Firefox you'll notice the images extend up and down the page, eventually disappearing over the edge. This is what you should be seeing. In Internet Explorer 7, however, the overflow gets cut off at some point before it ever gets to the end of the page. The problem is... I can't tell where! I've had a look and every containing element should show overflow. I don't know why IE7 isn't. Does anyone have any ideas where I might need to add an overflow-y:visible;?

    Dear Everyone I am interested to perform kmeans clustering on a list of words with the distance measure being Leveshtein. 1) I know there are a lot of frameworks out there, including scipy and orange that has a kmeans implementation. However they all require some sort of vector as the data which doesn't really fit me. 2) I need a good clustering implementation. I looked at python-clustering and realize that it doesn't a) return the sum of all the distance to each centroid, and b) it doesn't have any sort of iteration limit or cut off which ensures the quality of the clustering. python-clustering and the clustering algorithm on daniweb doesn't really work for me. Can someone find me a good lib? Google hasn't been my friend

  • masking a UIImage

    I'm working on an app that can change the borders or a rectangular UIImage. The borders will vary, but will look like the UIImage was cut out with scissors, or something to that affect. What is the best way to do this? My first thought is to prep a bunch of transparent PNGs with the correct border effect I'm looking for, and then somehow use that as a mask for my UIImage. Is this the right path? Or is there a more flexible programmatic way to do this?
