  • dll's loaded through reflection - Phantom Bug

    - by Seattle Leonard
    Ok, I got a strange one here and I want to know if any of you have ever run accross anything like it. So I've got this web app that loads up a bunch of dll's through reflection. Basically it looks for Types that are derived from certain abstract types and adds them to the list of things it can make. Here's the weird part. While developing there is never a problem. When installing it, there is never a problem to start with. Then, at a seemingly random time, the application breaks while trying to find all the types. I've had 2 sites sitting side by side and one worked while the other did not, and they were configured exactly(and I mean exactly) the same. IISRESET's never helped, but this did: I simply moved all the dll's out of the bin directory then moved them back. That's right I just moved them out of the bin directory then put them right back where they came from and everything worked fine. Any ideas? Got some more info When the site is working I notice this behavior: After IISRESET it still works, but recycling the app pool will cause it to break. When the site is broken: Neiter IISRESET nor recycling the app pool fixes it, but moving a single dll out then back in fixes it.

  • JNI problem when calling a native library that loads another native library

    - by TheEnemyOfQuality
    I've got a bit of an odd problem. I have a project in C++ that's basically a wrapper for a third party DLL like this: MyLibrary --loads DLL_A ----loads DLL_B I load DLL_A with LoadLibrary(), wrap several of its functions and generate my own DLL. I've tested this in a C++ project and a C# project. Both do everything they're supposed to do: load DLL_A, make a couple of function calls, and indirectly load DLL_B. The problem is when I build a DLL for java and make the calls through JNI. Everything runs like it should (no java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError), but when it comes time for DLL_A to load DLL_B it doesn't work. From debugging, the loading of DLL_B happens on a function call in DLL_A that takes a callback. When called from Java, this function call seems to fail (the function pointer is fine and the actual call goes off without a hitch), and I get an odd pop-up window saying DLL_B failed to load, and my program is left waiting for a callback that never happens. I can explicitly load DLL_B just fine (both from Java and from C++) and I've checked every possible path, path variable, and tried placing the dlls everywhere to see if it could be looking somewhere funny. I'm pretty sure it's not a path problem. Ultimately I don't know how DLL_A is loading DLL_B and I can't figure out why everything works fine in C++ and C#, but not in Java. I'm absolutely flummoxed. It could still be something specific to my setup (although I've looked as hard as I can look), but I'm throwing this scenario out there to see if anyone has run into a similar problem. -Dave

  • What does stdole.dll do?

    - by rc1
    We have a large C# (.net 2.0) app which uses our own C++ COM component and a 3rd party fingerprint scanner library also accessed via COM. We ran into an issue where in production some events from the fingerprint library do not get fired into the C# app, although events from our own C++ COM component fired and were received just fine. Using MSINFO32 to compare the loaded modules on a working system to those on a failing system we determined that this was caused by STDOLE.DLL not being in the GAC and hence not loaded into the faulty process. Dragging this file into the GAC caused events to come back fine from the fingerprint COM library. So what does stdole.dll do? It's 16k in size so it can't be much... is it some sort of link to another library like STDOLE32? How come its absence causes such odd behavior? How do we distribute stdole.dll? This is an XCOPY deploy app and we don't use the GAC. Should we package it as a resource and use the System.EnterpriseServices.Internal.Publish.GacInstall to ensure it's in the GAC?

  • ORGetValue from Offline Registry - ERROR_MORE_DATA

    - by user314749
    I am trying to create an offline registry in memory using the offreg.dll provided in the windows ddk 7 package. You can find out more information on the offreg.dll here: MSDN Currently, while attempting to read a value from an open registry hive / key I receive the following error: 234 or ERROR_MORE_DATA Here is the .h code that contains ORGetValue: DWORD ORAPI ORGetValue ( __in ORHKEY Handle, __in_opt PCWSTR lpSubKey, __in_opt PCWSTR lpValue, __out_opt PDWORD pdwType, __out_bcount_opt(*pcbData) PVOID pvData, __inout_opt PDWORD pcbData ); Here is the code that I am using to pull the data [DllImport("offreg.dll", CharSet = CharSet.Auto, EntryPoint = "ORGetValue", SetLastError = true, CallingConvention = CallingConvention.StdCall)] public static extern uint ORGetValue(IntPtr Handle, string lpSubKey, string lpValue, out uint pdwType, out string pvData, out uint pcbData); IntPtr myHive; IntPtr myKey; string myValue; uint pdwtype; uint pcbdata; uint ret3 = ORGetValue(myKey, "", "DefaultUserName", out pdwtype, out myValue, out pcbdata); The goal is to be able to read myValue as a string. I am not sure if I need to use marshaling... or a second call with an adjusted buffer.. Or really how to adjust the buffer in C#. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • [Qt] How to get rid of OCI.dll dependency when compiling static

    - by STL
    Hi, My application accesses an Oracle database through Qt's QSqlDatabase class. I'm compiling Qt as static for the release build, but I can't seem to be able to get rid of OCI.dll dependency. I'm trying to link against oci.lib (as available in Oracle's Instant Client with SDK). Here's my configure line : configure -qt-libjpeg -qt-zlib -qt-libpng -nomake examples -nomake demos -no-exceptions -no-stl -no-rtti -no-qt3support -no-scripttools -no-openssl -no-opengl -no-phonon -no-style-motif -no-style-cde -no-style-cleanlooks -no-style-plastique -static -release -opensource -plugin-sql-oci -plugin-sql-sqlite -platform win32-msvc2005 I link against oci.h and oci.lib in the SDK's folder by using : set INCLUDE=C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\include;%INCLUDE% set LIB=C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\lib\msvc;%LIB% Then, once Qt is compiled, I use the following lines in my *.pro file : QT += sql CONFIG += static LIBS += C:\oracle\instantclient\sdk\lib\msvc\oci.lib QTPLUGIN += qsqloci Then, in my main.cpp, I add the following commands to statically compile OCI plugin in the application : #include <QtPlugin> Q_IMPORT_PLUGIN(qsqloci) After compiling the project, I test it on my workstation and it works (as I have Oracle Instant Client installed). When I try on another workstation, I always get the message: This application has failed to start because OCI.dll was not found. Re-installing this application may fix this problem. I don't understand why I still need OCI.dll, as my statically linked application is supposed to link to oci.lib instead. Is there any Qt people here that might have a solution for me ? Thanks a lot ! • CoInitialize fails in dll

    - by Quandary
    Question: I have the following program, which uses COM to use the Microsoft Speech API (SAPI) to take a text and output it as sound. Now it works fine as long as I have it in a .exe. When I load it as .dll, it fails. Why? I used dependencywalker, and saw the exe doesn't have MSVCR100D and ole32, so I loaded them like this: LoadLibraryA("MSVCR100D.DLL"); LoadLibraryA("ole32.dll"); but it didn't help... Any idea why ? #include <windows.h> #include <sapi.h> #include <cstdlib> int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { ISpVoice * pVoice = NULL; if (FAILED(::CoInitialize(NULL))) return FALSE; HRESULT hr = CoCreateInstance(CLSID_SpVoice, NULL, CLSCTX_ALL, IID_ISpVoice, (void **) &pVoice); if( SUCCEEDED( hr ) ) { hr = pVoice->Speak(L"Noobie was fragged by GSG9 Googlebot", 0, NULL); hr = pVoice->Speak(L"Test Test", 0, NULL); hr = pVoice->Speak(L"This sounds normal <pitch middle = '-10'/> but the pitch drops half way through", SPF_IS_XML, NULL ); pVoice->Release(); pVoice = NULL; } ::CoUninitialize(); return EXIT_SUCCESS; }

  • After calling a COM-dll component, C# exceptions are not caught by the debugger

    - by shlomil
    I'm using a COM dll provided to me by 3rd-party software company (I don't have the source code). I do know for sure they used Java to implement it because their objects contain property names like 'JvmVersion'. After I instantiated an object introduced by the provided COM dll, all exceptions in my C# program cannot be caught by the VS debugger and every time an exception occurs I get the default Windows Debugger Selection dialog (And that's while executing my program in debug mode under a full VisualStudio debugging environment). To illustrate: throw new Exception("exception 1"); m_moo = new moo(); // Component taken from the COM-dll throw new Exception("exception 2"); Exception 1 will be caught by VS and show the "yellow exception window". Exception 2 will open a dialog titled "Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger" containing the text "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in myfile.vshost.exe[1348]." followed by a list of the existing VS instances on my system to select from. I guess the instantiation of "moo" object overrides C#'s exception handler or something like that. Am I correct and is there a way to preserve C#'s exception handler?

  • Could not load SWT library on Windows 32-bit

    - by Firzen
    I am almost done with one Java project that I have been developing on Linux. Now I need to build and test it on Windows. So I have installed Eclipse on Windows XP 32-bit, and imported my project. All dependencies of project are in jar files in lib folder, and on Linux everything works well, but on Windows XP I get following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Could not load SWT library. Reasons: no swt-pi-gtk-4234 in java.library.path no swt-pi-gtk in java.library.path Can't load library: C:\Documents and Settings\firzen\.swt\lib\win32\x86\swt-pi-gtk-4234.dll Can't load library: C:\Documents and Settings\firzen\.swt\lib\win32\x86\swt-pi-gtk.dll at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Library.loadLibrary(Library.java:331) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Library.loadLibrary(Library.java:240) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.gtk.OS.<clinit>(OS.java:22) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Converter.wcsToMbcs(Converter.java:63) at org.eclipse.swt.internal.Converter.wcsToMbcs(Converter.java:54) at org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Display.<clinit>(Display.java:133) at gui.Frontend.<init>(Frontend.java:51) at Fighter.main(Fighter.java:18) I have searched for these DLLs, but I have failed to find them. Where can I download these DLL files? Thanks in advance.

  • C# call a C++ dll get EntryPointNotFoundException

    - by 5YrsLaterDBA
    I was gaven a C++ dll file, a lib file and a header file. I need to call them from my C# application. header file looks like this: class Clog ; class EXPORT_MACRO NB_DPSM { private: string sFileNameToAnalyze ; Clog *pLog ; void write2log(string text) ; public: NB_DPSM(void); ~NB_DPSM(void); void setFileNameToAnalyze(string FileNameToAnalyze) ; int WriteGenbenchData(string& message) ; }; In my C# code, I have those code: internal ReturnStatus correctDataDLL(string rawDataFileName) { if (rawDataFileName == null || rawDataFileName.Length <= 0) { return ReturnStatus.Return_CannotFindFile; } else { setFileNameToAnalyze(rawDataFileName); } string msg = ""; int returnVal = WriteGenbenchData(ref msg); return ReturnStatus.Return_Success; } [DllImport("..\\..\\thirdParty\\cogs\\NB_DPSM.dll")] public static extern void setFileNameToAnalyze(string fileName); [DllImport("..\\..\\thirdParty\\cogs\\NB_DPSM.dll")] public static extern int WriteGenbenchData(ref string message); I got EntryPointNotFoundException at the setFileNameToAnalyze(rawDataFileName); statement. Few questions: do I need to add that lib file into somewhere of my C# project? how? do I need to add the header file into my C# project? how? (no compile error for now) I would like to remove those "..\\..\\thirdParty\\cogs\\" hardcode path. how to this? how to get ride of that EntryPointNotFoundException? thanks,

  • Ways to access a 32bit DLL from a 64bit exe

    - by bufferz
    I have a project that must be compiled and run in 64 bit mode. Unfortunately, I am required to call upon a DLL that is only available in 32 bit mode, so there's no way I can house everything in a 1 Visual Studio project. I am working to find the best way to wrap the 32 bit DLL in its own exe/service and issue remote (although on the same machine) calls to that exe/service from my 64 bit app. My OS is Win7 Pro 64 bit. The required calls to this 32 bit process are several dozen per second, but low data volume. This is a realtime image analysis application so response time is critical despite low volume. Lots of sending/receiving single primitives. Ideally, I would host a WCF service to house this DLL, but in a 64 bit OS one cannot force the service to run as x86! Source. That is really unfortunate since I timed function calls to the WCF service to be only 4ms on my machine. I have experimented with named pipes is .net. I found them to be 40-50 times slower than WCF (unusable for me). Any other options or suggestions for the best way to approach my puzzle?

  • PHP 5.3.5 Windows installer missing php_ldap.dll

    - by nmjk
    I'm working with Windows Server 2008, Apache 2.2. I'm using php-5.3.5-Win32-VC6-x86.msi as the installer, using the threadsafe version. I've gone through the install process four or five times just to make sure that I'm not missing anything ridiculous, but I don't think I am. The problem is that the php_ldap.dll extension simply doesn't seem to exist. It's not present in the installer interface (where the user is asked to choose which extensions to install), and it definitely doesn't appear in the ext/ directory after install. I found a lot of mentions of this issue for 5.3.3, including links to download the extension individually. Those links no longer exist, of course, and besides: they were for 5.3.3. I'd really rather use an extension that belongs with PHP 5.3.5. Anyone else encounter this problem? Any ideas as to what's going wrong? Anyone seen acknowledgement by the PHP folks that the file is indeed missing, and that it's an oversight? It's quite a frustration because the server I'm building has no purpose if I don't have PHP LDAP support. Cheers all, and thanks in advance for your assistance.

  • Windows + Django + mod_wsgi = "DLL load failed"

    - by Kyle MacFarlane
    For a long time I was using Python 2.5 to do all this fine but recently upgraded to 2.7 since building stuff for 2.5 is a real pain. I also updated mod_wsgi to 3.3 for Python 2.7. Everything is working fine with Apache + mod_wsgi on CentOS and also in the Django runserver on both Windows and CentOS, but not with Apache + mod_wsgi on Windows. Whenever I try to access a page in my Django app I get the following (note that Apache starts fine): ImportError at / DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found. Which is caused by things like: from Crypto.Cipher import AES Etree and others cause the exact same error and it is not limited to any specific packages. Anything with pyd files fails. Googling around suggests reinstalling Python "for all users", but the installer doesn't give you that option anymore anyway. For good measure I've tried reinstalling Python 2.7 as an administrator and also told it to register itself as the default version of Python but neither helped. I think the solution might have something to do with: The fact that I have 2.5, 2.6 and 2.7 installed on this machine and mod_wsgi might be loading the DLLs for 2.5 instead of 2.7. Something to do with WSGIPythonPath, which I usually don't need to set.

  • WPF - Random hanging with file browser attached behaviour.

    - by Stimul8d
    Hi, I have an attached behavior defined thusly,.. public static class FileBrowserBehaviour { public static bool GetBrowsesOnClick(DependencyObject obj) { return (bool)obj.GetValue(BrowsesOnClickProperty); } public static void SetBrowsesOnClick(DependencyObject obj, bool value) { obj.SetValue(BrowsesOnClickProperty, value); } // Using a DependencyProperty as the backing store for BrowsesOnClick. This enables animation, styling, binding, etc... public static readonly DependencyProperty BrowsesOnClickProperty = DependencyProperty.RegisterAttached("BrowsesOnClick", typeof(bool), typeof(FileBrowserBehaviour), new FrameworkPropertyMetadata(false, new PropertyChangedCallback(BrowsesOnClickChanged))); public static void BrowsesOnClickChanged(DependencyObject obj, DependencyPropertyChangedEventArgs args) { FrameworkElement fe = obj as FrameworkElement; if ((bool)args.NewValue) { fe.PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown += new MouseButtonEventHandler(OpenFileBrowser); } else { fe.PreviewMouseLeftButtonDown -= new MouseButtonEventHandler(OpenFileBrowser); } } static void OpenFileBrowser(object sender, MouseButtonEventArgs e) { var tb = sender as TextBox; if (tb.Text.Length < 1 || tb.Text=="Click to browse..") { OpenFileDialog ofd = new OpenFileDialog(); ofd.Filter = "Executables | *.exe"; if (ofd.ShowDialog() == true) { Debug.WriteLine("Setting textbox text-" + ofd.FileName); tb.Text = ofd.FileName; Debug.WriteLine("Set textbox text"); } } } } It's a nice simple attached behavior which pops open an OpenFileDialog when you click on a textbox and puts the filename in the box when you're done. It works maybe 40% of the time but the rest of the time the whole app hangs. The call stack at this point looks like this - [Managed to Native Transition] WindowsBase.dll!MS.Win32.UnsafeNativeMethods.GetMessageW(ref System.Windows.Interop.MSG msg, System.Runtime.InteropServices.HandleRef hWnd, int uMsgFilterMin, int uMsgFilterMax) + 0x15 bytes WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.GetMessage(ref System.Windows.Interop.MSG msg, System.IntPtr hwnd, int minMessage, int maxMessage) + 0x48 bytes WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.PushFrameImpl(System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherFrame frame = {System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherFrame}) + 0x8b bytes WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.PushFrame(System.Windows.Threading.DispatcherFrame frame) + 0x49 bytes WindowsBase.dll!System.Windows.Threading.Dispatcher.Run() + 0x4c bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Application.RunDispatcher(object ignore) + 0x1e bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Application.RunInternal(System.Windows.Window window) + 0x6f bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Application.Run(System.Windows.Window window) + 0x26 bytes PresentationFramework.dll!System.Windows.Application.Run() + 0x19 bytes Debugatron.exe!Debugatron.App.Main() + 0x5e bytes C# [Native to Managed Transition] [Managed to Native Transition] mscorlib.dll!System.AppDomain.nExecuteAssembly(System.Reflection.Assembly assembly, string[] args) + 0x19 bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Runtime.Hosting.ManifestRunner.Run(bool checkAptModel) + 0x6e bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Runtime.Hosting.ManifestRunner.ExecuteAsAssembly() + 0x84 bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Runtime.Hosting.ApplicationActivator.CreateInstance(System.ActivationContext activationContext, string[] activationCustomData) + 0x65 bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Runtime.Hosting.ApplicationActivator.CreateInstance(System.ActivationContext activationContext) + 0xa bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Activator.CreateInstance(System.ActivationContext activationContext) + 0x3e bytes Microsoft.VisualStudio.HostingProcess.Utilities.dll!Microsoft.VisualStudio.HostingProcess.HostProc.RunUsersAssemblyDebugInZone() + 0x23 bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart_Context(object state) + 0x66 bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext executionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback callback, object state) + 0x6f bytes mscorlib.dll!System.Threading.ThreadHelper.ThreadStart() + 0x44 bytes Now, I've seen this kind of thing before when doing some asynchronous stuff but there's none of that going on at that point. • Injection with google guice does not work anymore after obfuscation with proguard

    - by sme
    Has anyone ever tried to combine the use of google guice with obfuscation (in particular proguard)? The obfuscated version of my code does not work with google guice as guice complains about missing type parameters. This information seems to be erased by the transformation step that proguard does, even when the relevant classes are excluded from the obfuscation. The stack trace looks like this: com.google.inject.CreationException: Guice creation errors: 1) Cannot inject a Provider that has no type parameter while locating com.google.inject.Provider for parameter 0 at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel.setPasswordPanelProvider(SourceFile:499) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel.setPasswordPanelProvider(SourceFile:499) while locating de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel for parameter 0 at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.b.k.setParentPanel(SourceFile:65) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.b.k.setParentPanel(SourceFile:65) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.o.a(SourceFile:38) 2) Cannot inject a Provider that has no type parameter while locating com.google.inject.Provider for parameter 0 at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel.setWindTurbineAccessGroupProvider(SourceFile:509) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel.setWindTurbineAccessGroupProvider(SourceFile:509) while locating de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.AdminUserCommonPanel for parameter 0 at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.b.k.setParentPanel(SourceFile:65) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.b.k.setParentPanel(SourceFile:65) at de.repower.lvs.client.admin.user.administration.o.a(SourceFile:38) 2 errors at com.google.inject.internal.Errors.throwCreationExceptionIfErrorsExist(Errors.java:354) at com.google.inject.InjectorBuilder.initializeStatically(InjectorBuilder.java:152) at com.google.inject.InjectorBuilder.build(InjectorBuilder.java:105) at com.google.inject.Guice.createInjector(Guice.java:92) at com.google.inject.Guice.createInjector(Guice.java:69) at com.google.inject.Guice.createInjector(Guice.java:59) I tried to create a small example (without using guice) that seems to reproduce the problem: package de.repower.common; import java.lang.reflect.Method; import java.lang.reflect.ParameterizedType; import java.lang.reflect.Type; class SomeClass<S> { } public class ParameterizedTypeTest { public void someMethod(SomeClass<Integer> param) { System.out.println("value: " + param); System.setProperty("my.dummmy.property", "hallo"); } private static void checkParameterizedMethod(ParameterizedTypeTest testObject) { System.out.println("checking parameterized method ..."); Method[] methods = testObject.getClass().getMethods(); for (Method method : methods) { if (method.getName().equals("someMethod")) { System.out.println("Found method " + method.getName()); Type[] types = method.getGenericParameterTypes(); Type parameterType = types[0]; if (parameterType instanceof ParameterizedType) { Type parameterizedType = ((ParameterizedType) parameterType).getActualTypeArguments()[0]; System.out.println("Parameter: " + parameterizedType); System.out.println("Class: " + ((Class) parameterizedType).getName()); } else { System.out.println("Failed: type ist not instance of ParameterizedType"); } } } } public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println("Starting ..."); try { ParameterizedTypeTest someInstance = new ParameterizedTypeTest(); checkParameterizedMethod(someInstance); } catch (SecurityException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } If you run this code unsbfuscated, the output looks like this: Starting ... checking parameterized method ... • constructor injection using Autofac 2 and Named Registration

    - by Thad
    I am currently attempting to remove a number of .Resolve(s) in our code. I was moving along fine until I ran into a named registration and I have not been able to get Autofac resolve using the name. What am I missing to get the named registration injected into the constructor. Registration builder.RegisterType<CentralDataSessionFactory>().Named<IDataSessionFactory>("central").SingleInstance(); builder.RegisterType<ClientDataSessionFactory>().Named<IDataSessionFactory>("client").SingleInstance(); builder.RegisterType<CentralUnitOfWork>().As<ICentralUnitOfWork>().InstancePerDependency(); builder.RegisterType<ClientUnitOfWork>().As<IClientUnitOfWork>().InstancePerDependency(); Current class public class CentralUnitOfWork : UnitOfWork, ICentralUnitOfWork { protected override ISession CreateSession() { return IoCHelper.Resolve<IDataSessionFactory>("central").CreateSession(); } } Would Like to Have public class CentralUnitOfWork : UnitOfWork, ICentralUnitOfWork { private readonly IDataSessionFactory _factory; public CentralUnitOfWork(IDataSessionFactory factory) { _factory = factory; } protected override ISession CreateSession() { return _factory.CreateSession(); } }

  • Preventing LDAP injection

    - by Matias
    I am working on my first desktop app that queries LDAP. I'm working in C under unix and using opends, and I'm new to LDAP. After woking a while on that I noticed that the user could be able to alter the LDAP query by injecting malicious code. I'd like to know which sanitizing techniques are known, not only for C/unix development but in more general terms, i.e., web development etc. I thought that escaping equals and semicolons would be enough, but not sure. Here is a little piece of code so I can make clearer the question: String ldapSearchQuery = "(cn=" + $userName + ")"; System.out.println(ldapSearchQuery); Obviously I do need to sanitize $userName, as stated in this OWASP ARTICLE

  • determine if chipset is capable off packet injection and monitor mode

    - by Richard
    Hi, I am new to linux and I want to know if my chipset is capable off doing those things My chipset is a intel centrino advanced 6200-n on a sony vayo laptop running on windows 7. Now, I know that windows is only capable off listening, so I boot backtrack 4 from a usb stick. I also want to know if a live distribution can work flawlessly with the wificard even if it does not support formentioned things, because I try'd to use wget to download something and it says it ca not resolve the address? thanks, Richard

  • Simple factory to retrieve files using constructor dependency injection

    - by mrblah
    I want to create a class, that is flexible so I can switch implementations. Problem: Store files/documents Options: either store locally on the server filesystem, database or etc. Can someone help with a skeleton structure of the class, and how I would call it? I am not using an IoC, and don't really want to just yet. I just want the flexibility where I would make maybe 1 code change in the factory to call another implementation.

  • Debugging site written mainly in JScript with AJAX code injection

    - by blumidoo
    Hello, I have a legacy code to maintain and while trying to understand the logic behind the code, I have run into lots of annoying issues. The application is written mainly in Java Script, with extensive usage of jQuery + different plugins, especially Accordion. It creates a wizard-like flow, where client code for the next step is downloaded in the background by injecting a result of a remote AJAX request. It also uses callbacks a lot and pretty complicated "by convention" programming style (lots of events handlers are created on the fly based on certain object names - e.g. current page name, current step name). Adding to that, the code is very messy and there is no obvious inner structure - the functions are scattered in the code, file names do not reflect the business role of the code, lots of functions and code snippets are most likely not used at all etc. PROBLEM: How to approach this code base, so that the inner flow of the code can be sort-of "reverse engineered" using a suite of smart debugging tools. Ideally, I would like to be able to attach to the running application and step through the code, breaking on each new function call. Also, it would be nice to be able to create a "diagram of calls" in the application (i.e. in order to run a particular page logic, this particular flow of function calls was executed in a particular order). Not to mention to be able to run a coverage analysis, identifying potentially orphaned code fragments. I would like to stress out once more, that it is impossible to understand the inner logic of the application just by looking at the code itself, unless you have LOTS of spare time and beer crates, which I unfortunately do not have :/ (shame...) An IDE of some sort that would aid in extending that code would be also great, but I am currently looking into possibility to use Visual Studio 2010 to do the job, as the site itself is a mix of Classic ASP and ASP.NET (I'd say - 70% Java Script with jQuery, 30% ASP). I have obviously tried FireBug, but I was unable to find a way to define a breakpoint or step into the code, which is "injected" into the client JS using AJAX calls (i.e. the application retrieves the code by invoking an URL and injects it to the client local code). Venkman debugger had similar issues. Any hints would be welcome. Feel free to ask additional questions.

  • Autofac / MVC4 / WebApi (RC) Dependency Injection issue after upgrading from beta

    - by George D.
    var resolver = new AutofacWebApiDependencyResolver(container); configuration.ServiceResolver.SetResolver(resolver); after updating to ASP.NET MVC4 (RC) I get the following error: 'System.Web.Http.HttpConfiguration' does not contain a definition for 'ServiceResolver' and no extension method 'ServiceResolver' accepting a first argument of type 'System.Web.Http.HttpConfiguration' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) I realize after reading this (http://www.asp.net/web-api/overview/extensibility/using-the-web-api-dependency-resolver) that these interfaces have changed, but I am not sure how to apply this change to how I use Autofac. Do i need to wait for a new release from Autofac or is there another way I can get past this.

  • Action Filter Dependency Injection in ASP.NET MVC 3 RC2 with StructureMap

    - by Ben
    Hi, I've been playing with the DI support in ASP.NET MVC RC2. I have implemented session per request for NHibernate and need to inject ISession into my "Unit of work" action filter. If I reference the StructureMap container directly (ObjectFactory.GetInstance) or use DependencyResolver to get my session instance, everything works fine: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } However if I attempt to use my StructureMap filter provider (inherits FilterAttributeFilterProvider) I have problems with committing the NHibernate transaction at the end of the request. It is as if ISession objects are being shared between requests. I am seeing this frequently as all my images are loaded via an MVC controller so I get 20 or so NHibernate sessions created on a normal page load. I added the following to my action filter: ISession Session { get { return DependencyResolver.Current.GetService<ISession>(); } } public ISession SessionTest { get; set; } public override void OnResultExecuted(System.Web.Mvc.ResultExecutedContext filterContext) { bool sessionsMatch = (this.Session == this.SessionTest); SessionTest is injected using the StructureMap Filter provider. I found that on a page with 20 images, "sessionsMatch" was false for 2-3 of the requests. My StructureMap configuration for session management is as follows: For<ISessionFactory>().Singleton().Use(new NHibernateSessionFactory().GetSessionFactory()); For<ISession>().HttpContextScoped().Use(ctx => ctx.GetInstance<ISessionFactory>().OpenSession()); In global.asax I call the following at the end of each request: public Global() { EndRequest += (sender, e) => { ObjectFactory.ReleaseAndDisposeAllHttpScopedObjects(); }; } Is this configuration thread safe? Previously I was injecting dependencies into the same filter using a custom IActionInvoker. This worked fine until MVC 3 RC2 when I started experiencing the problem above, which is why I thought I would try using a filter provider instead. Any help would be appreciated Ben P.S. I'm using NHibernate 3 RC and the latest version of StructureMap
